Very confusing about what's going to be on the lab and lecture tests. Anatomy is suppose to be difficult i understand, but he always had excuses for things not getting done. He took over a month to grade one of our exams . The students in class got frustrated most of the time, when he would make an excuse. This was his first year teaching college.
Very disorganized, unwilling to adapt teaching style to class despite the obvious need. Labs were pretty non-existent and replaced by constant excuses. The only time he taught well was during his observation and that wasn't really an Oscar winning performance, he just managed to get it together for the first time, unfortunately it was the last time
We never had the materials that were needed for labs; he was really unprepared. He complained too much and his lectures are long. The professor goes off topic. I regret taking his class and I wouldn't do it again. It has been the worst class that I've taken. He's also sarcastic and rude.
Mr. Zamora is always willing to help his students, either in person, on the web and even in text. His lectures are up to date and organized. Also, graded papers are given out usually by the next class day. At the same time, you are expected to study independently and read the textbook since everything is not covered in the lectures.
Grades were not given the next class. I have had many people from different classes tell me the same thing. It would take weeks, even with scantron. If you need help he is there, but that is not always enough. He needs to be more organized, he is very unorganized.
He is there for you all the time. Easy way to contact if you have any questions. :) Looking forward to A&P 2
Bad at being organized. He gets defensive if you even mention that he had told you a different thing for the class assignments. Would not take him ever again
Mr. Zamora is a good professor , Always willing to help you out when you need the help, He is always willing to change his plans or anything to help his students pass his class. Always gives grades back the following time we have class ! Not going to lie, his class is hard but its on you to push yourself to pass.
Look, Mr. Zamora is a good teacher period. He does take time out of his week to do toutoring with the students in lab, he does give quizes to help our grade, and he will take the time to help you if it is needed. Test are extremely hard! Dont go in studing only for one day. You are expected to study like he says. Overall he'svery helpful.
Mr Zamora is a very good instructor and he's available if you need help. This course is challenging but it's the basic of the anatomy & physiology of the human body therefore, if you dedicate the time/effort to this course, you will understand the function of the human body which is necessary, especially if you're going into the medical field.
One of the most difficult classes their is no one passes his test every one gets 30 and 50. Expects for you to dedicate all your time for his class not taking into consideration you are taking other classes. Most of his students dropped his class and others that I know ended up retaking this course. this profesor is a waste of money.
Not worth taking. I regret not dropping the class when i had the chance. Everyone i know either dropped his class or had to retake it.
This professor has raised the bar in expectations. He's always willing to go the extra mile for his students. However, this class requires you to READ and standards are held to a college level. Provides extra credit and gives progress reports to let you know where you stand. WORK hard, study daily, and you'll be fine.
Failed the class before, F & C. If it wasn't for the point system he uses I would have failed again. He gave us so much extra work for points. If you failed, it's on you. I'm a bad test taker. Points from quizzes, lab questions, and lecture question helped so much. He gave us every means to succeed, failure was on us for not taking advantage.
Test are tough but with all the extra credit points you still do good in the class. Never had a point system before but it was cool. His curve is crazy awesome cause I know I failed every test and still came out with a B average. Quizzes almost every day but they give you points and are easy.
What's with the hate and immaturity? He is a good professor. Tough yes but gives lots of extra credit. I'm not in the medical field but got the grade I need. If you failed its on you. Offers study sessions; no one shows up. Text him at any time and he will answer. Final came from previous exams. Exam questions are word for word from text book.
You are going to have to work for your grade, some might not be used to that but the challenge will help you in the long run. Taking this class will not mean an easy A so be ready to work for it. You will learn so much in this class it is great for any science or nursing majors. Great professor, he devotes his time to his job & students!
This profesor tries to make your life miserable he thinks that his class is the only one you are taking not taking into consideration that most student take more than one class everyone in his class always gets 40 and 50 on his exams they are exreamly difficult if you want to waste your money go ahead because you're only end up retaking the class
Everyone I know that took him dropped his class or retook it his extremely difficult only one student from all my class got an A . just know he's the worst profesor I stc don't recommend none of his classes
If you are trying to get into any type of program I don't recommend this profesor he's just a wage of time and money it's nearly impossible to get an A or even a B in his class worst profesor I've ever had don't reckoned him I have to retake this course
Don't recomend this profesor one of the worst I've had he's extreme difficult I regret taking his class he just messed up my gpa when I had a 4.. I'm gonna retake the course just like many people o know that took his class. Don't recomend him to anyone
One of the worst profesors I've ever had. I don't recomend anyone taking his course it's a ware of time and money because most people I know drop his class or retake it
Mr. Zamora wants students to succeed. He offered tutorial sessions this semester. If there were questions he would quickly respond via text. He is very understanding and willing to help. Expectations in this class are very high but material is internalized not memorized. Definitely feel like I learned.
Okay, so, this class was difficult because of the subject matter, not the professor. Mr. Zamora makes himself available in outside tutoring and 24/7 on remind to help his students. He's passionate about his subject and it shows. If you're passionate about learning and anatomy this is the class for you. Tip: do the 'before you go ons'
Mr Zamora is a very good instructor, don't expect to get an A just by showing up you have to dedicate time to this class, if you study and read you'll pass and if you need help he offers tutoring, extra credit is available which not only helps your grade average but helps you in learning the material. Basically you your grade reflects your effort.
Mr Zamora makes himself available at anytime of the day. Have a question? Just text him through remind! Need to look at the models again to learn a muscle? Attend his tutoring sessions! Great professor, would take again.
Not the most entertaining class but the extra credit helped.
Boring class but do the homework and you'll pass. It's easy.
really good teacher its a college level biology so dont expect it to be a walk in the park he tries to get his students involved he had tutoring almost every day The times I went I didn't see more than 5ppl so take advantage, gives a lot of extra credit as long as you pay attention and do your extra credit you should be good study and you will pass
Mr. Zamora has been a great professor all semester long. He goes above and beyond for his students. He uses a school based text messaging system to send reminders out, if you have any questions about assignments he will respond at any hour of any day. He is clear in what he expects from a college student.
Gives enough extra-credit opportunities to boost your grade up. Also reminds you on remind about upcoming tests, even makes his own videos on lectures, and gives study guides for lab exams. If you study enough, you'll be good.
Mr. Zamora is an outstanding professor I recommended his class. He uses a school based text messaging system to send reminders about any upcoming exams, quizzes, study guides. He's willing to help students at any time and even volunteers his own time to tutor students. Your grade is a reflection of how much time you dedicate your self to study.
Professor Zamora is one of the nicest and most helpful professors I have ever had. He goes out of his way to make sure that you understand the material, and will even respond to questions via the Remind service at practically any time. He is not overly difficult, but studying is a necessity. Can't really ask for much more from a Professor.
Don't recommend this proffesor I had a 4.0 gpa and be brought it down never had I stuggled with a class before. his test are not even what he teaches. Most of his students dropped his class and others are Retaking it not to mention he goes and rates himself good to get students to take his class
Mr. Zamora is an excellent instructor. You must be ready to read prior to lecture in order to follow along and be on board and avoid confusion. However, if there is something you don't understand Mr. Zamora willingly explains the subject a little more in depth. He is also available after class, and has multiple forms of communication which is Key!
Took Mr. Zamora for Bio 2 in Summer 2 and given the short time frame, I learned a lot in his class. He always kept it interesting and his lectures were fully explained. Never had homework but we did have a lecture exam every week (which wasn't hard if you studied) and occasional quizzes for EXTRA points. We only had 2 lab exams. Totally recommend!!
I have to say Mr. Zamora is one of the best professors I've had, his feedbacks are very helpful, he's determined to help and he does actual curves; not the add 2 points but a real curve. His determination really inspired me. I took him for summer 1 A&P 1. Study hard and he will give you the help you need. Totally encourage anyone to take him.
A lot of reading, memorizing, and critical thinking required for tests. I recommend 2hrs/day of studying for the class. Class attendance isn't mandatory but quizzes given weekly for extra credit points so show up. Very honest. Very helpful. Good passion. Class isn't boring. If you don't do good, it's not because of him.
If you put in the time to study, you'll be fine. Mr. Z is clear what will be on the tests and lab practicals. He is helpful and gives good guidance to ensure learning. Bottom line: AP1 isn't for the college student who is more interested in spending their time working or going out. Plain and simple. No reason you can't get a B or A in his class.
If you enroll for this class make sure you study a lot. If you don't study at least 3 days in Advance for his lecture exams don't think you'll pass because you won't. His exams are difficult but he curves fairly. In his class it's only 4 lecture exams and 2 lab exams but they are difficult. Bottom line if you don't study/show you won't pass.
Class is difficult because the material is difficult. You need to put in the effort to learn on your own time. Don't expect to learn everything from lecture. Exams are difficult but he is clear about what will be covered in them. He is always willing to help students and tries to keep the lecture fun. If you fail, it's not because of him. Recommend
Mr. Z is a good professor. He is straightforward about everything from the very beginning. I took him for AP1 and found the class overwhelming at first but soon found it easier to understand once I started to actually read. He offers a lot of supplemental material so there is no excuse. If you fail, it is because of you. He is very fair and cares.
Very amazing teacher
Ruben Zamoras class was very hard. If you have a tight schedule outside of school make sure you only take his class or wait to take it. His lectures were long and hard to understand. Youll definitely need a book for his class. Mr. Zamora is a nice professor but his class definitely isnt easy.
Proffesor zamora is very committed to his students and to his work. If you really want to prove yourself, take his anatomy class. It is very challenging but he gives you all the help you need to pass. If you are going to take his class make sure you study at least the 12 hours a week he recommends. This class is no joke.
Mr Zamora is very committed to his students and his profession. Taking the class with him was challenging but very well worth it. He gives you what you need to know and it is up to you to study like your suppose to. Attendance is mandatory and if you study you will pass. I believe he gives great lectures and gets straight to the point.
He explains the material throughly and is always willing to answer any questions. Tests are not easy! You really have to study especially if you want to go into the medical field like myself. If you really want to learn about Anatomy I highly recommend him. He'll teach you everything you need to know but it's up to you to earn that grade!
Mr. Zamora really cares about his students. He will work with you as long as you show him you're trying your best. Amazing teacher! Highly Recommended!
Mr. Zamora I'd a very caring teacher, he truly cares for his students. With that said, he will make sure you truly understand the subject. He does this curving system that is absolutely phoneminal u can literally go from a D to an A. You don't necessarily have to pass his test as long as you beat everyone else and stay higher on the curve.
I took this class Summer 1 and although it was very challenging i don't think i would've learned what i did anywhere else. He does have his curve grading system which is amazing. He is very caring about all his students and he is understanding. If you're not willing to study/ work for your grade, this class might not be for you.
In my high school class @ stc, he was rude, disrespectful & didn't help us. When asking him a question, he wouldn't answer it, but merely said "I don't know", "I don't have time to answer the question" or he would give you another question. Wasn't understanding, didn't help us out, & the exams r 60 questions for 60 min. I didn't learn anything
he was such a great teacher and tried not to be too hard on us when he gave us exams/quizzes because he knew that we NEEDED to know this to excel in our field of study (nursing/biology) and at the end, he curved the grade to help those who needed it. its an easy A if you have the time to study, even if it was the night before. thats how simple.
Guys PLEASE PLEASE stay away from this professor!! If you are debating whether or not to enroll in his class, DONT. He doesn't bother to break down material for you and makes everything overcomplicated which makes HW & tests HARD. I've had other science professors and he made me realize the difference between a good professor and a bad one. BEWARE!
Mr. Z cares about his students, he clearly wants everybody to pass, but if you don't put in the time and effort, you won't pass, don't expect an easy grade, this is college, we're paying to learn, not for a grade, he is always available after class and he is always willing to help everybody to really understand the material, sincerely, he's great
Mr. Zamora is a passionate professor and he shows it in his lectures. He urges students to ask for aid if they don't understand and he gladly goes out of his way to help out. To be fair, his course can be challenging and you won't be getting an easy A, but as long as you put in a good amount of effort you won't be disappointed.
He has apps and websites to help you with questions regarding anything in class. I found them very useful. READ. Study power points. There is no such thing as a EASY A for A&P.
This class does require you to study a lot for upcoming exams. It is a lot of material. But I did learn a lot in this class and it helped me learn different study habits. He tries to make class as interesting as can be and could always be reached outside of class. Great class if you want to learn.
He's a great teacher. If you're looking for a easy grade then go look elsewhere, but if you are passionate about your studies and want to actually learn and not just pass a class then take Mr. Z.
Y'all are sleepin on Mr. Zamora! I wish he was teaching Anatomy & physiology2 next semester, but he isn't. It's your regular average A&p, you need to put in the time obviously to get the grade you want. He helps so much with apps, websites, and extra lab hrs. He does this amazing curve at the end of the semester, which helps you drastically!
He is a very caring professor. If you are going into the medical field, I would recommend him. you really have to put in the work for it. He wants you to learn the material. I Would not take him again only because I am not in the medical field, not an easy A. You do need the lecture book and lab manual, recent 1 not needed. He curves grades nicely.
Really helpful, curves at the end. Quizzes weekly taken online. Exams multiple choice. Youll need the manual and textbook but not in class. Picks up manual post labs randomly. Easy going, willing to work with you and overall nice. Gives videos, PP slides, study guides and study questions.
The subject itself is difficult however Mr. Zamora is an amazing teacher and does everything possible so that you can understand. He posts animation videos/activites on blackboard, he uploads lecture videos on YouTube, and if you ever need anything just ask, he will ALWAYS help. I really wish he was teaching AP2 I would have loved to take it w/ him
Professor Zamora really makes you work for your grade if you dont study at all you wont pass. This class consists of a lot of constant lab and lecture quizzes each week and exams over chapters as well
Professor Zamora does not know how to teach. He made things extremely difficult. The majority of what he lectured on wasnt in his labs or quizzes.
Had a 65 in his class but decided to drop, He's always upset, horrible time limit when taking exams, 40 min to answer 50 questions, would not get enough time to process what i am reading. if blackboard logs you out when taking exams, you are screwed. what he teaches is not on exams or quizzes, Wish he could relax and not be so hard on students.
Mr. Zamora will make sure you learn. He post so many videos and notes to understand material. The exams and quizzes are based on the information learned. He makes you work for your grade & does a big grade curve at the end of semester. A&P itself is a tough course & hes very dedicated in making sure his students understand the material.
Mr Zamora is an awesome professor. He is very dedicated at what he does especially in making sure all his students learn. A&p its a tought course itself , but you should put your own effort. He does have a curve at the end of the semester. He does have alot of videos and PowerPoints for extra help, but If you study appropriately you will pass.
He is a great professor but study and be prepared to take lecture and lab quizzes weekly. He show you the most you can learn.
Mr. Zamora was one of the worst professors I've ever had! He is so rude and has to make remarks about every little thing possible. My whole class almost failed. Also when pandemic hit and classes went online, he made his class even harder! One example: he would make 70 question quizzes for 50 mins only. I do not recommend anyone to take his class.
Class was very difficult especially when quarantine went into effect, but Mr. Z is very helpful and has good intentions with wanting everyone to pass. Wouldn't say he's the most lenient, but he is willing to work with you to make you learn and mature as a student and all around person!
Quizzes and Lecture test he was always be late to put them up at 2 or 3 in the morning. Exam they are over 70 questions with timer 50 minutes to answer people complain before but he says it the way he has a certain way to calculate time in questions which is dumb. And even if blackboard not working and logs you out of a quiz he doesntlet redo it.
Lets get this straight, A&P is not an easy subject. However, Zamora really takes the time and patience to help every one of his students succeed. He also ties in real life examples of situations and tries to make the information stick. Overall, he is one of the most outstanding professors Ive had in my college experience.
Mr. Zamora puts in so much effort and time to make sure we are learning. He posts many videos and lets you know what you should study for upcoming exams or quizzes. A&p is a tough course so prioritizing and dedicating time is a must! He does a big curve to help boost your grade at the end of semester. Great instructor !
His goal is to make sure you are learning
He actually cares about his students and their grade. Lectures can be boring and long, but overall a decent instructor. Took this course the semester when everything went from in person to strictly online due to covid. I learned much better in person. He checks his reviews on this site regularly by the way, so hello Mr. Z! Hope all is well.
This class was the hardest class I have ever taken!!! Mr. Zamora is an okay professor but when you asked for help was very passive aggressive. Almost ALL work is quizzes and you MUST use lockdown browser. You have to spend your whole week studying if you want to pass. I do not recommend!!
Mr. Zamoras Biology exams and quizzes did not always correspond with the lecture material. Be ready to spend 8-10 hours a day watching lectures, completing labs, assignments and just studying. I ended up dropping the course because I did not want for it to affect my gpa. I will not take a course with this professor again.
Took class in the summer, syllabus was crazy we had 4 lectures 4 labs and a lecture quiz, and lab quizzes every day. It was so much work that I would wake up at 7 am and still not sleep till 12 or 1. It felt like there weren't enough hours in the day. He doesn't like for you to study with others he will accuse you of cheating. I dropped best idea
Mr. Zamora is passionate about his work, is regularly in contact with students and is quick to respond to any questions. The workload is not easy but I think that is just due to the size of the biology syllabus. He grades on a curve, so don't get dismayed early on if you aren't getting 90+ for all the tests.
I Took Mr. Zamora this past summer and i will say it was difficult because i have a job. This couse was lab and lecture combined so the workload was intense. he makes himself ready available for any questions most of the time except like late at night. usually good about responding to any question. his video lectures are through so pay attention.
Had Mr. Zamora as my professor for BIOL 1407 this summer and though it was a lot of information, he graded fair. Workload was a lot if you have other classes but he is available almost 24/7 for any questions. Quizzes and exams are clear if you read the chapters. Very understanding professor. Put the effort in and youll get a good grade.
Zamora and the class itself are two very different things.5 weeks just wasnt enough time to retain info and get high grades, BUT Zamora was really diligent with helping us. I know professors dont have control over the workload but I do think the instructions for the excel projects couldve been simpler or dumbed down more. (Summer 21)
He's a professor whose goal is to help you learn and not simply pass. It requires discipline and lots of time. Good class if you want to learn but not if you want an easy pass. He replies quickly and is willing to help you understand a subject. So many quizzes, exams and assignments. Good professor, hard class.
Professor Zamora is really good, very approachable and helpful if you are struggling with the class. Class is a little tough, but he genuinely wants you to succeed, and you can always ask the Professor for help and he will provide you with resources and direct you along the path that will help you understand the topic better and improve your grades
This class was very difficult because of the amount of work. We had a midterm, 2 quizzes for a lecture, 2 quizzes for a lab, and a lab report due all in a span of one week. It was impossible to manage my time between my other classes. I studied for about 6+ hours everyday for a whole week just to fail every quiz. Professor was always available.
This is one of the hardest/worst teachers I've ever had. He acts like us students just have to worry about his class and assignments. He also cries in front of you so we can feel bad for him and not drop the class. I would say to not pick this professor for your classes.
This is a hard class but it gives gives us a taste of actual college. Mr. Zamora helped with all the power he had in his hands to help us pass and learn as much as possible. Be prepared to have quizzes and assignments, just always try your best and Mr. Zamora will help us as much as possible.
Mr. Zamora will vent to you about how hard his job is, he will tell you that he wants to quit teaching because he is exhausted. He will also tell you that he has a family to support and belittles you for complaining about him. Mr. Zamora is available outside of class the majority of the time. Do not recommend.
Mr. Zamora, is a pretty tough professor, but he is very supportive of you and will not give up on you. Make sure you do all the work that he gives you, even if you don't feel that confident just do them, it will help you on the long run. There are 2 quizzes at the end of each week, and 3 lecture exams and 2 lab exams. MAKE SURE TO STUDY FOR EXAMS.
Very knowledgeable professor. Gives you everything you need to pass. He does everything he can to help you but this class is very difficult. Lockdown browser with camera. So much to study. The class requires a lot of time. I fell behind in other classes just trying to scrape by in this one.
Expect to devote a strict schedule on studying and reviewing material, as there are two to three quizzes per weekend. At times, you find yourself finishing the lectures yourself, due to the amount of material that is discussed. However, the professor provides a number of materials and his attention, in order to ensure every student's success.
Learned very little from the lectures. Do not take if you actually want to learn.
Honestly this teacher is a very well spoken teacher who wants you to go beyond your limits and reach new heights, however he does have high expiations even though we have many other classes. This is not an easy class and it challenges you to think critically. I have had some ups and downs with this teacher, but overall he's a Whataburger teacher.
Pretty good instructor he teaches you everything he knows. He taught me how to think like a scientist and how to use the scientific method and how to use the standard deviation and Chi-square test. I highly recommend reading every chapter of the lecture book it will make a difference and lab manual. Fallow the syllabus & don't take too many classes
Challenging course but great teaching. Seems like a lot of information at first but east to get into a flow and rhythm. Professor Zamora gives great examples of note taking that apply to his teaching style. Learned a lot and feel better prepared moving forward in my Bio degree. I would definitely take a class by him again!
This was one of the most difficult classes I had to take, but I would take it again. It was a lot of information, but he gave us numerous resources to succeed. It is a lot of work (several quizzes weekly), but he will work with you to ensure that you pass his class: he gives a significant amount of extra credit and provides a large curve.
Professor Zamora is pretty straight forward. You read, do the work, quizzes, tests, and labs - its an easy A. Don't try to memorize the information; it won't do you any good. The material HAS to be learned. For all you who like studying quizlets - your wasting your time. The professor is awesome if you know how to communicate with him.
Meh professor just takes a while to grade, class is also super test heavy almost 60% of your grade comes from Lecture Exams. Lab is easy per say as you don't get any assignments for Lab and Lab Practical's come easy if you study the models he shows you. Also do the extra credit videos he assigns the first few weeks of class you'll regret it later.
This is the worst professor ever. Do not take his class.
Heavy workload. Avoid this professor if you can.
Stay away from this professor, he will make negative comments about you if you do not seem to fully understand the material. Had to be removed from his class, he seemed like he reached well in the beginning but really a scary and negative teaching environment.
Grades are always late, Do not take his class.
This was a really hard professor in my opinion, several students, more than half the class, was failing or on the verge of failing. I had a C but I decided to drop because I wanted a better grade in the class. He gives so many small online quizzes which are quite difficult. His lectures are hard to comprehend. Lots of hw, and he is a tough grader.
this professor is a good embodiment of what college is supposed to be. he teaches material the best he can and its up to you to dissect that as a college student. he warns us of this in the beginning. dont believe the negative reviews. read the material, pay attention to his lectures, and use your critical thinking skills. it was an easy a for me.
Professor Zamora is a really good teacher. He prepares you how you should be prepared for a biology major/ heavy class. You will need to study/pay attention in class but he is available most of the time even outside of class. He creates study documents to do for every lecture I recommend doing them. Overall great class, I would take his class again
Teacher has high expectations as this is a very challenging course. He covers material fully and precisely in both lecture and lab. Be prepared to study a lot for quizzes and exams. Overall great teacher.
Took Mr. Z for bio 1406-07, he gives great lectures easy to understand and study guides. Gives ex credit. He is always accesible and will give you feedback on your work. He gives advice on time management and motivates his students to keep learning. The class like many STEM classes requires time to study. Many opportunities to earn an A or B.
I had this Professor for both of my core science course 1406 and 1407. He is good on what he teaches but the thing is the course which is the hard part, especially the materials that we have to learn. What help is that he push us to use study guides to make it like a habit, which will help us in other course with that habit of making a study guide
I took Mr. Zamora for both Biology 1406 and 1407 and even though his course is very lecture-heavy and tests are worth a lot, he actually encourages you to learn the material, making it easy receive an A. He cares a lot about his students and is always accessible if you have any questions. Also gives extra credit opportunities.
Challenging but worthwhile class. Professor has high expectations, but provides helpful study materials. Engaging lectures, though attendance is mandatory. Using unstuck study and the textbook helped me succeed.
This professor was able to make Biology the worst subject I have ever taken in my life. Do not take this course with this professor if you want to pass. His lectures are, on average, two hours long and you generally gain nothing from them. His tests include every detail you could think of, and you are responsible for keeping up with the course.
Take him if you like sitting in hours of lecture. I did not mind but I could not keep up with all the outside work needed. His suggestion was studying outside of class twice the amount of hours than the hours you do in class. I took his class and had him 6 hours a week so I needed to study 12 hours outside of class.
