Prof. Estrada is one of the best professors I have ever had. He cares about his students and makes his class very interesting. Be prepared to participate actively in his class!
Professor Estrada understands that students want to succeed and he helps them achieve success! He's an outstanding professor with a high regard for his students.
His lecture is right out of the book and if you highlight what he says you'll ace the tests. The tests are right out of lecture. LOVES to make you participate every session, so be prepared! Good class and fairly easy.
Exceptional teacher and class. I learned more in this course about real life business than in the rest of my business classes put together. Would highly recommend.
You will speak every day in class, tests are easy ... dont even take notes in class, read the chapters usually less than 70 total pages per test twice the night before and you will get an A.
Prof. Estrada is the most knowledgable instructor in business that I have ever had. He makes you want to learn and his experience is invaluable. Test are fair and be prepared for active class participation.
One of my favorite professors. very nice and helpful, make you study hard. He is always well-dressed, I think he is super hot!!! rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
very egotistical.
Professor Estrada is a very sophisticated, well respected, and engaging professor I have known. His regard for respect is well received. Be prepared to speak in all of his classes...this is not a bad thing, it definitely gets you out of your shell. Read, read, and re-read your speeches!!!!
Perhaps the best teacher I have ever had. Very respectful and treats you as an equal. GREAT TEACHER!!!

Excellent teacher, smart, funny, well dressed, etc. but probably the worst memory of names ever! Just tell him your last name is Mr. or Miss Smith so its easy for him to remember. If your last name is more than 5 letters your screwed.
Is it just me, I didn't like his class. It was very easy, but I didn't learn anything. If you need an easy course to balance your schedule, then go for it, but don't finish your 5 min. extemporaneous speech early!!!
Best teacher ever. Tests are straight from the book.
PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST PROFESSORS I HAVE EVER HAD
Highly recommend this instructor. Class time flies by, he's funny, doesn't take attendence, and the tests are pretty easy. He does collect HW at times so make sure to do the assignments. Overall a great teacher and an easy "A"
Great class. Just be willing to speak up during class discussions. There are no tricks with this class very straight forward. Professor Estrada is very helpful and respects everyone. Great teacher.
He is a very nice man. He dresses well, he respects you and you respect him. He is entertaining with his stories. He gives you his life experiences that help you. He makes the classes very informative. I highly recommend hi.
I thought ethics would be boring, but Estrada is a great teacher that really makes you think. I highly recommend this class.
One word: CHAMPION.
This class was very fun and interesting. We had a huge project due at the end of the semester that I wish he assigned earlier. He is a really nice guy, but make sure you become the teacher's pet because that's the only way you'll win the project and get an A.
You get what you put into this class. It can be a class to look forward to if you're willing to put forth the effort. It has interesting discussions, inspirational talks and speakers, and a professor that really puts his all into giving his students the confidence to be successful. If you don't make the effort and participate, you won't do well.
He is very well organized and he make the topic interesting although his grading and his standrads are high.
This prof only likes you and gives you a decent grade if you agree with him on everything, no room for intellectual debate. He is totally arrogant and spent much of the semester telling everyone how impressed he is with himself.
2 tests midterm and final and you got to go up and make a 5 min speech that is the class have fun!
Overall I thought he was a great teacher. Extremely easy class with two tests, a paper and oral presentation. The class is ALL about class discussions/debates, so it was a nice change of pace from the boring lectures that are usually given by other professors.
Overall I thought this was a great class. He really makes you think critically about your ethics and morals. The text was easy reading and not very long. There is a final presentation where you have to present on an issue by giving a 5 minute speech. I would recommend this class.
Overall his class was very interesting and intuitive. He always involved the students and asked their opinions on different ethical issues. 2 tests and a paper with oral presentation. Overall pretty easy class but very interesting.
I took his BIO/BUS 326 class & I thought it was very interesting and intuitive. He expects students to participate since it is part of your final grade. Has class debates on ethical issues opinions on different ethical issues.2 tests and a paper with oral presentation. Really easy A if you go to class and do the reading.
Very good and knowledgable teacher! Has lots of experience and an impressive resume! Very helpful and just wants to see his students learn the material. Will answer questions until clear. Sometimes intimidating because so intelligent, but thats ok! Very straighforward and teaches out of textbook. Tests not bad, based off lecture
Excellent instructor! I would def. recommend him. No hw, two exams (midterm and final), and a huge group project. Take his class seriously and you'll learn a lot. His tests are fairly difficult because there is a lot of material covered so make sure you do the readings from the text. Start the SBI project early, you'll need all the time you can get
Amazing professor, I looked forward to every class. Only 2 exams (midterm and final), weekly writing assignments (collects them at random so make sure you're in class to turn them in), and one project (7 pg. ethics paper and 5 min presentation). Text is easy to read and short. Highly recommend this class and instructor.
Professor Estrada is a phenomenal business mentor. He seemed very intimidating at first, though you will quickly learn that he is very down to earth and has a great sense of humor. I wish I would have taken a class with him earlier because I would have easily switched to being a business major. One of the best I've ever had.
handsdown best teacher I have ever had and most intelligent and wise man I have ever met
Prof. Estrada is an absolute PRO! His teaching style makes you want to learn and although he is a firm grader he is very reasonable. He encourages you to be your best and helps you get there. He is without question the best faculty member at CSUCI. I wish other MBA faculty had the same commitment to excellence as Estrada.
Awesome professor! Not an easy course, but well worth the time. One of the best professors at CSUCI
Tests did not match up to class readings. I would not take him again.
Estrada is an awesome professor. If you want a class where you can acquire real world experience, take any of his classes. He is a very accomplished individual, and has achieved great success, in which he can pass down to any student in an easy manner. Isn't learning to make money the honest way the reason we are going to school in the first place?
Overall: highly recommend taking scientific and professional ethics. Class seems intimidating but is very enjoyable. Some test questions are a little ambiguous, but I learned a lot about the decisions I make and my thinking has changed. Grading is fair: participation (come to class and talk), paper & presentation from topic, midterm and final.
Very clear teaching style. Kept class interesting and conversation open and on topic. Attendance was not mandatory, but knowing the information covered during classes was. Fair grading based on performance and comprehension. Would highly suggest this instructor for getting the most out of this course.
Mr. Estrada is an awesome professor. He actually cares if students are getting the subject matter. He creates a very friendly atmosphere where you become very comfortable asking questions even for those students who are sometimes shy in large groups. The class is not easy, but you end up retaining much more than with most professors!
Mr. Estrada was excellent- largely due to the tremendous life experience he brings to the classroom. I'd strongly recommend taking his small business and ethics classes.
I took Professor Estrada for both Entrepreneurial Management and Ethics and enjoyed both classes. He teaches in a way that makes you want to attend class. I learned more in his classes than I did in classes for my actual major. Keep up with the work and study for the tests and you will get a good grade. His classes are a must!
If you're looking for a professor who actually loves to teach and cares for the future of his students & isn't teaching just to put food on the table for his family take him. He rocks. Brings his personal experiences to the classroom. Take him.
This is by far one of the best professors i have had in my education so far. His tests aren't the easiest thing but the class is so great. I love how personal and deep the conversations are. 1 page paper is due occasionally but they are about what you want to write about. He really made schoolwork bareable (: kudos mr. estrada
Professor Estrada is an outstanding professor. He wants students to understand classroom material, openly participate, and encourages students to ask questions whenever they feel lost. He wants every student to have the best experience possible in his class. You can tell he enjoys what he's doing, and wants to help students be the best they can be.
AWESOME teacher. Prof, Estrada teaches for fun, and lets you know early on that he doesn't teach for income cause he doesn't need it. His success in business is incredible, and gives real world examples constantly. This was one of the few teachers I was actually excited about going to class for. Ill take him for every class I can!
I ready enjoy his class because his lecture include real life story. Prof. Estrada has a different way of collecting home because he only pick a letter which is A so if you last name start with the letter A you turn in your Hw all but the other get full credit too
He was so intimidating on the first day I was kind of nervous to take the course... But I'm so glad I did. His lectures are interesting and to the point, and he give plenty of opportunities to ask for help. Not a super difficult class, just do the weekly assignments and take notes. His expectations are very clear. Follow directions and you'll pass.
Dr. Estrada seems intimidating at first, but he is genuinely going to help you if you ask for it. The breakdown of the classroom consists of a one-page paper due with every chapter that you read (be prepared to be called on). There's also a midterm and final, along with a 5-page essay and a presentation. One of the best classes ever! Take him!
Professor Estrada is a great academic professor. He is extremely knowledgeable in the field of business and has a great deal of experience in the business world. He shares real life scenarios and this helps to enhance our learning as students. I would take him for any and all my business classes if I could do so. He expects students to do the work.
Professor Estrada is extremely knowledgeable in the business field. His expertise is a benefit to students. He applies his experiences into his lectures and this enhances our learning as students. I wish I could take him for every business class. He makes you work for your grade and tests are tough, but if you read and listen in class it's all good
I had Professor for Ethics in Business. Class is more lax than his business classes. Small easy homework assignments, midterm and final. Also 1 paper on an Ethical issue. An excellent professor who is charming and intelligent in his field of expertise. He is intimidating at first, but you get the respect back from him if you do what is expected.
Professor Estrada takes teaching seriously and is extremely passionate about what he is teaching as well as extremely funny. I would recommend him to everyone.
Professor Estrada clearly shows his love for teaching. He always takes time to make sure all his students are up to speed and clearly understand the subject he his teaching. He is also very successful outside of teaching and brings great insight to many subjects, making his lectures very informative. Great teacher
Great conversations on controversial topics. Homework is collected at random. Allowed one sheet of notes (frontback) for exams. His exams are not tough and are straight from the assigned book. Genuinely wants all his students to succeed in life and pass his class. He has a lot of life experiences that he shares and is an inspirational man.
It was a pleasure attending Professor Estrada's class. He has an impressive resume and often referred to his personal experiences and shared words of wisdom which I enjoyed. If there was one thing I didn't like, it would have been the group project. However, I respect Prof. Estrada and will be taking him again!
Straight shooter. Successful in both the public and private sector. Teaches what's important, plus insights based on personal experience. If there was ever an influential instructor you would want to impress, it's him.
He honestly has no reason to teach us due to his success, but the fact that he does makes me respect him more. Very knowledgeable. Easy course a few papers, but a dreaded 5 minute non note speech, midterm and final.
I was so close to dropping the course after the first day, but I'm glad I didn't. Estrada's class is very interesting, easily one of the best classes I have ever taken. The Tests are not that hard, the 5 page paper wasn't either. Homework is collected randomly. The 5 minute oral presentation is the hardest, but its manageable.
Thorough to make sure everyone was on the same page. Participate in class and speak loudly. He's a fair grader. There's 1 page homework assignments collected at random, a 5-page paper on topic you choose from his list, and a 5-minute presentation (no notes) which was intimidating but manageable. I got an A in his class. I really enjoyed this class
Professor Estrada is hands down one the best professors I've had at CI. His class requires a certain degree of focus and effort but it's definitely not impossible to get a good grade. His lectures are really interesting and the fact that he discusses his own personal experiences really makes learning the material much easier.
Professor Estrada is an amazing teacher, his lectures are fun an entertaining. He will give real life examples that connect with class topics. 5-minutes presentation at the end of the semester on a topic you select from a list of proposed topics. Be sure to take notes, it'll help you on the midterm and final exams.
Points are based on the Mid Term, Final, Class Participation(HW), Paper and Oral presentation. As long as your participate in class and do the HW you are set up for a good grade. The 5 page paper isn't that difficult. The "hardest" part of the class was giving the 5 min presentation and that turned out not to be too hard. Definitely recommend him!
Professor Estrada was such an inspiring professor. His background is impressive and he gives great advice. The class required a lot of reading and weakly homework assignments. There is one big presentation at the end of the semester that is worth half your grade. Class participation is highly encouraged!
Best professor I've ever had.
At first I was nervous about taking Professor Estrada, but I am so glad I did. Let's get this clear... given his impressive background he does not need to be teaching, but he is very passionate about being there, which makes the class even better. He is inspirational, funny, and this was by far my favorite class I have ever taken.
Mr. Estrada is an amazing professor. He is the definition of success, very accomplished as well as extremely humble. His lectures are very clear and understandable. He expects you to come to class prepared and ready to learn, does not accept late home work, but fair in what he asks of the student and enjoys a laugh or two. Overall a great class.
Great professor, very carting abut his students. Funny guy!
Amazing professor. I know a lot of comm people didn't like him because he is very business focused, but don't let that scare you. He has a lot of real world knowledge and applies concepts from the class to the lectures. Homework and reading is easy, the lectures are interesting and overall one of the best classes you could take!
Professor Estrada is awesome; he's a super chill and has a lot of real world knowledge. He likes to tell stories about his life but don't worry he's actually really interesting! His class is easy enough, I took him for ethics and we got out early a lot but you still gain the knowledge you need. One speech, one paper, one midterm, one final.
Imparts a lot of his own business experiences to class material. Truly inspiring human being! He is like a guiding light. He made the class atmosphere fun and interesting. If you really listen to him, there is so much to learn. Never a dull moment in this class. Clear instructions. Manageable work load. Asset to the CI community.
If you want a class you can pass without having to put in the work, this isn't the class for you. Professor Estrada is an amazing professor who really wants students to strive as individuals. His teaching styles and the way he incorporates his life experiences has made me love management. Took 2 of his management course and would take another!
Prof. Estrada is a great teacher to have. I have taken him twice in a row and enjoyed both classes. He is all about respecting others so he has a strict policy on not talking when others are, and no phones. He has a lot of experience in his field, so you learn a lot in his classes. But he is fair in his grading and lets you know what he wants.
He's a sweet man even though he looks intimidating. Make sure you participate in class, read the chapters, and get to know him, he's really kind and helpful.
All of the positive reviews here are spot on. I'm about to graduate and Estrada by far has one of the greatest teaching styles I have ever experienced. He has a wealth of knowledge and gives you a letter of rec. for an MBA program if you get an A in his class. Seemingly intimidating, but actually a genuine guy w/ a great sense of humor. 10/10
Class itself was not too difficult. His lectures are interesting, but his tests are from the text-test bank. So honestly, the lectures do not matter more than hearing his stories. My tips: Follow along in the text and highlight. .dont worry about his interpretation of this as it often differs from the text and he pulls from book tests.
He is a very experienced businessman and a great mentor. His tests are directly from book and he will tell you what to memorize. I took MGT 307 (Mgt of Orgs) and MGT 326 (Ethics) with him in the same semester. One of the most important things, remember to PARTICIPATE!
This is one of my favorite classes I have ever taken. I really enjoyed Estrada as a teacher and I think he commands a classroom in a way that very few teachers could. He is extremely clear about what he wants. I think he is also one of the most interesting teachers I have ever had and once he tells you a little about himself you will see that too.
Impactful teacher, learned a lot about ethics. One of the clear business minded professors in the program. Understands what is important and what is not.
Over all good, but be sure to study or know the chapters for the midterm and final.
Easy A. Friendly and comfortable class environment. Available after class for advanced ethics discussions. Class includes 1 page worth work for each chapter, discussion of prior weeks HW, midterm/final, and 4 page report+ 5 minute presentation at the end of the semester. Likes everyone to contribute to discussions.
Good teacher, but can be a little intimidating. The only really bad thing about this class is you go into the final without knowing about 50% of your grade. I understand grading papers can take a while, but it would be nice if we could have our current grades updated on canvas or emailed (if requested) before taking the final.
One of the best professors on campus! He has high expectations, but you will genuinely learn in this class. Make sure to participate and do your homework and this class will go great for you.
Professor Estrada really sets the tone from day one. He gives and demands respect. He doesn't mess around and he is a straight shooter. I've never had a professor that is respected as much as him. He is an old school throwback and it was a pleasure to take his course. As hard of a shell that he has, inside he seems to be a very loving.
Amazing Human.
One of the best professors on campus and certainly the best in the Smith School of Business.
Prof. Estrada is one of the most amazing teachers I have ever had. He has real life experience and is not afraid to share it. He cares about his students, and is respectful to everyone. If you have the chance to take one of his courses, DO IT!
