He is young and very down to earth and knows his Afr.-Amer history. Makes the class interesting by initiating great class disscussions. He does require that you keep up on current events that effect black history and come perpared to talk about it in each session. Test are multiple choice and do require that you put in efficient study time.

He is a very good teacher fun class you will alot but you DO have to keep up with current events and study as his tests are lenghty but if you show up and put in effort you will pass with a good grade.

i took his African American history class at central campus and i feel like i have a whole new perspective of the world because of him. Do the extra credit it helps alot. The study guides make tests cake, so do them. He will go over everything that you will be tested on and his lectures are overviews of the book chapters. He keeps things interesting and always uses a current event to segway into his lecture. So if you like history alot or not at all Prof J will make it fun for you.

I took him my first semester in college and i'm on my 6th now. He is still my favorite professor. He is a really nice guy and uses a different approach to teach. I took him for a 3 hour class and time flew back. He gives you a study guide that is literally the test. If you fail it is because you literally tried to. He would let us out early too

This professor honestly is the BEST. History is normally an okay subject but he made the material EXTRA interesting and his class discussions were very thought provoking & fun. There are 3 essays but they are opinionated ones. There are also 3 tests as well;not to mention the final. DONT Hesistate. Take him. I'm taking him again for AMH2010

History is not a fun subject, but this pofessor made it very fun. His tests are EXACTLY whats on the study guide. There are a few essays, but they are based on your opinion. He is just strict with attendance and tardiness, but overall he is awesome.

Love him , he has a great personality. He gives study guides which are the same as the Exams . You have to pick a current event and write about it 1 page for like 5 or 6 weeks & 2 Term papers but I got an A. Greatest Projessor on the planet! He keeps the class interesting and he allows the students to express themselves. His test come directly from his review. All you have to do is memorize the answers. He gives four writing assignments that are very easy. You must take this professor for African American History!

This class counts as a college writing credit(not english credit)so it consists of writing 10 short discussion post,3 blog post, and a 5 page final paper,also you have to present a power point and do an act out presentation in groups. I have never taken a history class that has captivated me the way this class and professor has. Professor J does not gives test but his expectations for his group project, blog paper, and final paper are high. I enjoyed this class immensely. I recommend this class. I LOVE sleep and I actually enjoyed waking up for his 8 am . He's so nice and the class is so easy if you go on time and engage w/ him. The best, BEST professor I have ever had. Rudy is so understanding and can relate to his students so well. I have never laughed so hard but learned so much in a class before. History was never an easy subject for me but Rudy made it fun and made me excited to wake up early. Many extra credit opportunities, fun group work, and an easy passing grade!

If you need to take a history class, I highly recommend this professor. Just show up and make sure to do your discussions online. No tests, quizzes and only 2 projects which were extremely easy. Hes caring for his students & super cool. Just a lot of discussions & assignments but hes not a tough grade, you wont fail. Hes a 250 - 75 words minimum type of guy. During COVID he made online learning pretty simple and easy.

So, I took him my first year of college and I Took African American History. When I walked in his room the atmosphere is so lively. He is really inspirational and he helped me a lot even when he didnt know. He always was encouraging and I loved our friendly debates. His class opened me to so many new ideas and knowledge. This is a really great professor, and he cares about teaching. I learned a lot of new sides to US history. Most Broward college classes have very low standards for writing/grammar, but I really liked that he pushed me to write at a higher level, similar to what was asked of me in HS AP classes. The only downside is group projects.
