He is very hard to understand because of his accent, but has a great sense of humur, tests are hard, but he wants his students to succeed.

This guy is very smart. He formerly taught at a med school in Pittsburgh. He's been nominated for the Nobel 2 times. He also cares about his students and their success as much as any teacher I've met. This is a HARD class. He won't dumb it down for you, but you will walk out knowing Microbiology.
He is very hard to understand.
He is brilliant, I felt sometimes he had a hard time bringing it down to a beginner class. The accent was only hard for the first week. The tests were hard - he loves powerpoints but tests from book as well. But overall enjoyed the class and what I learned, and enjoyed his knowledge on the subject.
His Indian accent is hard to understand. Hates to give extra points, even when it is his fault. Hard tests. Wants students to learn and succed. It is a little easier if you take Chemistry and Anatomy first. Says something in class once and expects you to it know for the test.
His accent is hard at first but you learn how to understand it. I would recommend him but only to students that are willing to put in some quailty study time. I did well in the class but I studied harder then I ever have. He will teach you Microbiology, but his tests can be challanging.
Kuddus is a very intelligent man and he's very helpful. For anyone trying to knock-out Biology for their generals take Kuddus. Getting used to his accent is a little difficult, but you'll get used to it.
Kuddus has high expectations.
This is a very smart man. However, he is a researcher, not a teacher. His accent creates a communication breech and causes his tests to be very difficult to understand. You have to reread every question at least twice to understand what he is asking.
His accent was very hard to understand. Tests very hard because his grammar is bad. average for his class is around a B-. Did better then I thought I would but it required a lot of studying.
His accent was hard to understand at first but i got used to it. His homework is very similar to the tests, but they both require a lot of studying. I got C's and D's on all the tests but still managed to get a B in his class. He is very knowlegeable about the subject.
He does have an accent which makes it difficult. His homework asks some questions that are not in the book or his lecture notes, he wants to teach more than the book teaches and therefore makes it far more complicated (it's complicated enough!). He does seek to be helpful, though, but you have to make a huge effort in this class - not a bad thing.
Dr. Kuddus was my first college professor, and I absolutely adore him! A lot of the info. he requires you to know, comes from his lectures, but don't take notes, you can print the whole lecture from your web CT and it's much easier. Don't be intimidated by the difficulty, he wants you to succeed! Added bonus, he's hilarious!
Tough class, but I learned a lot. Sit up front if you have trouble with his accent. He is very helpful, and wants all of his students to succeed. He will not fail you if you do the homework, attend classes, and take all the tests. Some hw questions you can only get if you attend class. I love his sense of humor and his take on the English lang
he is the worst teacher in the entire world!!!!!! He is INCREDIBALLY hard to understand. the average in my class was a C- NOT a B-. His tests were impossible. the majority of students failed the last one. DO NOT TAKE FROM THIS TEACHER
only take a class from professor kuddus if you prefer to not learn anything.
He is the worst teacher you can get! He doesn't use the book, his tests are impossible even if you study for weeks and you can't find the answers in your notes or the book! You can't understand his accent and he doesn't care if you learn or not! My whole class is failing right now! DO NOT GET THIS TEACHER!!!!!! YOU WILL LEARN NOTHING.
He talks like Apu on the Simpsons. Can't teach. His tests are written in very poor english. he doesn't use the textbook and he doesn't teach anything that will be on the test. Class test average: 55%
This teacher blows! he should learn to speak English before he can teach! Take this class if you want to fail and want to learn to speak Indian. UVSC wasn't thinking when they hired this guy!
Teaching is not what he was born to do! He doesn't teach so you can learn, he teaches to here himself talk. He's very arrogant and doesn't speak english well... Not only can you not understand him, but his tests are impossible even in you are a biology major. DO NOT take his classes.
Nothing from his lectures are on the Tests. Nothing from the book are in the lectures. Nothing matches up. It's almost impossible to study for anything! Class is pointless because you can't tell what he is saying. He expects you to memorize EVERYTHING. This class makes me HATE college. I might drop out now because of this class. J/K
It is apparent that Dr. Kuddus understands and has innovated his field. However his ability to communicate that to his students could use some improvement. Some of the test material was not present in the hw, text, or lectures but requires an understanding of the whole picture to answer so the class is very difficult but his focus is your success.
He is not understandable in his lectures. The assignments were easy enough but the tests covered nothing that was reviewed and there was no way to prepare for the test. I would not suggest him as a teacher to anybody.
Dr. Kuddus is a good teacher. it is not an easy class though. his lectures, quizes, tests must be better now because they were all good. the exam suggestions were great. his test were very hard though. if you dont do the suggestions, you wont pass. the assignments are lengthy, but this is a good class for learning. just dont take in summer. too fast.
Horrible teacher! Tests didn't match up with the lecture, which didn't come from the textbook. Quite arrogant, difficult to work with. He has such a heavy accent that you can barely understand what he's saying. Assignments and tests were always too hard and too long. Everyone in our class would have failed if he hadn't curved his grading.
This class is sooooooo hard. My brain is dying because of this class.
This guy is impossible. We had to go over each test in class the next day and tell him the questions that had the wrong answers on them. So you wouldn't know what your score was till a week after because he had to go back and fix his tests. You don't need to buy the book he has his own notes. Easy to understand in class but very unorganized.
Great teacher!
This class is hard don't slack off. I liked it. His accent is bad, but I got used to it quick. Don't get depressed if the test go terribly, just study and try again, the curve helps a lot! Go to the lectures, it especially helps bust your grade at the end of semester. And take notes during class on the notes he gives you, it helps with homework.
I thinnk that Dr. Kuddus has been given a bad reputation here. True this class is difficult and he is a little hard to ubderstand, but he is intelligent and wants the students to learn. He is helpful and quite entertaining at times. He is very organized. He lectures with powerpoints that you can print off and bring to class to take notes on.
This prof is terrible. He should stick to finally achieving that Nobel. Not a teacher type. Tests/homework ridiculous. Tutor lab and other bio teacher could not even help answer the questions. Grad level questions in fresh. class. We are at university to learn, not get an F then curve to a B. If you want to learn, don't even bother to register
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. You can hardly understand what he says through his thick accent. His tests are impossible to read and he will not argue points with you (even if you show him the book to prove he's wrong). You have to print out the book on your own computer. he curves the class pretty well but won't tell you. all in all DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!
I had him his first semester teaching and I have never worked so hard and still done so poorly. I was pulling like 50% on the tests and was sure I had failed but somehow got a B+. Kuddus doesn't always agree with the book he requires which was a challenge since lecture was useless with the language barrier.
great teacher, he is under rated, you can pass with a good grade if you study do the HW and attend class, he offers extra credit do it! he is hard to understand but he has funny moments.
Dr Kuddus is a brilliant man who really does want you to learn this information. The majority of the class are lazy and only open the book the day before the test. They then complain about the difficulty. It's microbiology people not PE! Dr K is more than willing to work with you and wants you to succeed.
Overall pretty good teacher. Somewhat hard to understand due to the accent but its not bad. His tests are extremely hard but he grades on a curve which is very helpful. He works with students and wants them to succeed.
He is hilarious! His jokes are special to his personality. He truly cares that you make good grades, he gives extra credit. He extends due dates to help with your schedule. He is extremely smart, and that is why his questions can be difficult. He teaches Micro and Molecular Bio and his questions are very detailed and reflect this.
Great class, but difficult to understand the prof due to a heavy accent.
He is more than a teacher. He should be working on labs to solve problems about aids, cancers and all these high level scientific processes. His tests and assignments are really hard. He gives extra credits for papers. I got between 50-60 from all my tests, but you know what? I got a B, because he curves at the end of the semester. Take him!!!
He is a hard teacher. If you read the book, do all the extra credit and homework you will do good. Have to study though for the tests! I got 70s and some 60s on the tests and still got a good grade!
Excellent teacher, super intelligent, hilarious, wants you to understand the subject, the accent really isn't that hard. If you read the chapters and power pts BEFORE class, do the homework, and work on the study guide in a group(google docs is great for this)you'll be fine. Definitely recommend
Dr. Kuddus is one of the smartest professors in UVU but unlike others he's approachable and a very humble person. He genuinely cares for his students and treats them like a friend. Expect to take midterms every 2-3 weeks. Questions are tricky, it's hard to get higher than 80% consistently. Aim to be at the top 10% of the class to get an A.
Immunology was a great! If going on to healthcare I recommend this class. His accent hard to understand but you get acclimated to it. Maybe watch 'Outsourced' before hand. 4 midterms and a non-comprehensive final. 5 assignments 120 questions each. Lab is required, has a separate final. Test are hard but curved if you attend wont get lower than a B
Dr. Ruhul Kuddus takes some getting used to. He has a strong Indian accent, but he knows what he is talking about. Sometimes he gets overly tired and doesn't want to help you, but if you keep bugging him, he'll succumb. His tests are ridiculously hard. All questions are directly from the book! (that he published)
Immunology was the most difficult biology class I have ever taken. But I learned more in that class than any other. Such a cool class! Take it! Immunology is so relevant to anything health related. He does not "give" out A's. You have to really earn it. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed.
This a a hard class for sure bud Kuddus is a good professor. He is a funny guy and has some really good insights and is good at linking what you learn in class to the rest of the world. If you have to take Micro for health sciences I would recommend Kuddus. His homework is really hard and time consuming but it helps you prepare for his tests.
Do not take this professor. Take from anyone else even at SLCC if needed. He is not a good professor and clearly does not know subject. If you truly know a subject you can teach it simply. He tries to cover too much and doesn't understand questions thus does not answer your questions.
He's not as bad as everyone makes it sound. Yes it's hard but it's Microbiology people! It's not easy. He helps if you put forth the effort but doesn't babysit you and give grades out. Makes his tests all open book if you request it. Very knowledgable about his subject. Hilarious as well. The accent is difficult but you get used to it within a week
Read the book. Read it before his class and then after his class and you will get an A on every test. He is a great teacher but there is a lot of material to cover and not a lot of lecture time so read the book to make up the difference. Fascinating subject. Great class.
Don't think you can take this class and not read the book. It won't work. Read the book. Loved the class. Probably the most applicable science for diagnosing. Nearly every ailment, every disease comes from microbes. If you love the subject and read the book you will succeed. I repeat read the book.
I was quite weary when i first walked into class. He quickly won me over and his Microbiology class became my favorite class i have taken at UVU. It is also probably the most relevant for someone going into the medical field. He is clearly a very bright and knows micro, Its college people, you have to work to get a good grade.
Kuddus is awesome his tests are extremely difficult and the class is difficult in general. He knows it and is willing to work with students. I recommend it to anyone that doesn't mind lots of reading to study. I had a baby this semester and still pulled an a minus after bombing the final because i had to leave to go to my childs birth!
Dr. Kuddus is a really nice guy, but AVOID HIM AS A TEACHER if you can. Molecular Biology could be really interesting, but he made it miserable. The tests are open book, but don't expect that to help you. Tests are 4.5 hour marathons and even with the Powerpoint slides and book, most good students get in the 60s. Assignments take 5-6 hrs to finish.
Dr Kuddus is highly knowledgeable and loves the subject. He has high standards but is friendly and sincerely wants his students to learn. Do not take this class if you want to skate by with a minimum of effort. He does have absent minded professor moments and the class is hard but he is one of the best teachers I have had at UVU.
Dr. Kuddus is a very kind man and very easy to compromise with. Although, he tends to make this class a lot harder than it needs to be. Be prepared to study hard for looooong exams and difficult quizzes. The book hardly gives enough information for the level he wants you to understand. Overall, I would suggest to take it with another professor.
Great professor really. If you want to actually learn something take this class, if you want to slide through don't.
Easily the worst teacher i have ever taken Kindergarten-college. He is useless as a professor because all of his tests are online, open book and open neighbor. Although this sounds easy, the questions he asks are uncomprehensible. There are no positives about this guy. Avoid at all costs if you value any portion of your education.
Very nice teacher but lacks the ability to communicate a subject that is a language in and of itself! He basically doesn't speak english. it took me a month before I could kind of make out what he was saying. He also says he will not test you on things that are not covered in class. This is a flat out lie! Get very comfortable with google!
Kuddus is a very nice person. His class is horrendous. He changed his lecture format this term and did all quizzes/exams online and open book, but they still took hours to do, full of typos and nonsensical questions, and I haven't learned a thing. This is the only class I took this term; I am burned out on school because the class sucks so bad.
Words cannot express how much I hate this professor! His tests are ridiculously hard and the content is neither taught nor found in the textbook. Don't even get me started on his quizzes! Posted exam 5, 2 quizzes, and the final exam all during finals week…avoid at all costs!!!
Do not take this class from Kuddus. I again advise you do not take this class from UVU go to SLCC and take it. On the 12th of December he posted that he failed to give us 2 quizzes so he will be posting them the weekend before the final, along with an exam. His final is 65 multiple choice and then 9 short responses w/ a 4 hour time limit. Stay away
I echo the comments of frustration. In addition I found one of the most aggravating things was that he did not follow his own schedule for tests and quizzes. He would announce when they would be posted but when you logged in to take it they were not available, and then suddenly they show up days and sometimes even a week later!
He is an awful, I repeat awful teacher. He once said "To learn, is to apply knowledge and that if for underachievers." He purposefully sabotaged the tests, he told us one week to work together on tests, then the next week he told us if we continued to get A's, then he would change the style so more people failed. He is over all terrible. Avoid him
Nothing on the quizzes or exams were taught or in the book that he wrote! Quizzes were at least 45 questions and the exams were rediculous! Seriously DO NOT take this class from him!
Heavy accent. Problematic text book. Long, poorly worded exams. I wish I hadn't paid money for this course.
Terrible, just terrible. He is without a doubt the most incapable professor I have ever had. He is very smart and a nice guy, but can't teach to save his own life. Test are outrageously hard, the textbook is crap going to class is pointless. I got a decent grade, but didn't learn a single thing from him Everything I did learn was from the lab
Really the only way any University can be rid of such an awful professor is for every student to read his ratings and not take his courses. His teaching made me wish I had postponed graduation and taking this course from another Teacher/School/Country is better than taking it from Dr. Kuddus. I am no better prepared for my career than before. AWFUL
Dr. Kuddus has high expectations. However, it's 3550, and he teaches to prepare you for grad school. He is extremely smart and if you make the time to visit his office, he is willing to go above and beyond.
The one redeeming quality was that it was graded on a curve. I thought I was going to end up with a C but ended with an A-. He asked questions on the test that were completely new. Even though this was intro to BIO he seemed like he expected us to know everything and it was a refresher class. He's smart and nice, but worst college class so far.
Good things: he is a very nice man that will help IF YOU ASK HIM FOR IT. He gives you his number so you can text him questions while doing the quizzes and he's available and helpful during his office hours. Bad: Tests are impossibly hard, as are the quizzes. Advice: STUDY GROUPS! Meet at least once a week and work together on the quizzes!
Mr. Kuddus is very friendly. He makes a lot of jokes, and clearly enjoys working with students. He also gives out his phone number and office hours for help. That being said, he isn't that transparent. In lecture, he may say one thing, on the online quizzes another and on the tests a third. The tests are also very long and difficult.
Like many said, he can be a nice guy, but when it comes to tests, prepare for a battle. His tests do not match what he teaches in class or what you read in the book, or what you do on the quizzes. Everything says something completely different and it often feels like he makes up facts on the spot. Everything is very poorly written VERY heavy accent
Yes he has an accent, some people can't understand everything he says, but you can understand most of it for sure. I had no problem with it though. He expects you to learn a lot but he lets you take a 2-sided, notes sheet with anything on it, AND the book into every test! Sheesh! Just put the time into that alone and you'll do well! LARGE curve too
This professor is soooooo hard to understand, Not only biology terms but English in general. He often states that he does not have time to do extra things for students, such as e-mailing the list of questions we go over in class.. IF HE DOESNT HAVE TIME TO HELP HIS STUDENTS SUCCEED, THEN WHY IS HE TEACHING??? Tests and quizzes are a nighmare!
Rahul Kuddus.... where to begin.. first off.. his tests are horrible. They in NO way relate to what he has taught, or the review he gives. He expects us to know a lot, this is supposed to be beginning biology. He is very hard to understand and is very frustrating as he is forgetful and often gives wrong information.. stay away from this class...
Kuddus is a great teacher. He legitimately cares about his students and understands that not every student is a biology major, he teaches accordingly. He is a bit hard to understand because of his accent, but overall if you pay attention you will learn.
Sure, he's a nice guy, but he's an awful professor. The lectures are confusing and do not correlate whatsoever with the tests and quizzes (which are a nightmare)! Also you WILL NOT survive without buying his textbook. Most answers are in subscripts under photos in textbook. This is outrageous because he gives a textbook option between 2 books.
Dr. Kuddus is a really good guy. If you need help or don't understand some of the material, he is more than willing to meet with you and go over any doubts you may have. That being said, his tests are hard and require extra thought. He allows notes and the book to be taken into the testing center, but if you're not prepared the time goes by fast.
Dr. Kuddus is like a walking encylopedia of microbiology knowledge. The guy is hilarious, quick, and (in my opinion) very understandable. The most difficult part of his class is dealing with the constant barrage of disrespect his students throw at him. He definitely deserves better than UVU.
Extremely dense material, taught as if it were a higher-level BIO course instead of entry-level 1010 class. As long as you pass the quizzes and the exams, you will pass the class; I use the lecture time to prepare for quizzes since the lectures are often erratic and do not adequately prepare students for material. Exams are open book.
This class is definitely passable as long as you work for it. Average grade is a B-. He makes it so the average class grade for every test isn't below a B-. If you take the block class, you will have 3 quizzes and a test due each week. Tests are open note. He is available if you have questions, and you can take your quizzes to the tutor lab.
He's just fine tests suck though
Attendance is not mandatory, but there are usually pop quizzes every lecture so you need to go. He's very hard to understand. I didn't find the lectures helpful during the test; you'll need to study the textbook. His tests and quizzes are open-book (still super hard though) and they are curved. He offers plenty of extra-credit.
This is a hard class, but none of the teachers make it easy so just go with any of them. Good luck.
This class is not only hard, but the professor didn't help in any way shape or form. You have daily classroom quizzes which you take on an iClicker and if your registration is out of wack and you don't know, the professor won't tell you. It'll bite your grade at the end of class. Also, the tests are incredibly hard. Take lots of notes.
He is very nice and gives really good life advise during lectures. He seemed overwhelmed and stressed at most of his lectures and didn't explain things well. He wasn't a good resource for information, but you can take the class slides and the book into the tests so that's how I passed..
Dr. Kuddus is hilarious and really nice. He's passionate about the subject so it's fun to learn. I took a hybrid course so we only had time to meet once a week which was hard since there's no time to completely finish the chapters during the lecture. There's a quiz for every chapter and the tests are open note/book, if you try you'll pass.
just don't..... I just watched the online lecture instead of going to class. You might as well write down every sentence in the lectures and read the whole textbook he gives you. His tests are insanely hard. I had a different professor to start with and got above 80% on his tests, with Kuddus I couldn't get above a 73%, and I studied more
Really difficult class but Prof. Kuddus gave lots of good resources. I took the hybrid course, so all the lectures were posted as videos on canvas. Open book and open note tests. Take extensive notes of the lectures in class and online and you'll do well. Difficult quizzes, but they were all take home, open note and you can do them in groups.
Kuddus honestly is a great professor! His accents a little thick but you can understand him. He's extremely generous with extending due dates with no penalties. If you ask for his help, he will give it to you. There are in class quizzes every time, but for our class he literally told us every single answer. Put in the effort and you will be fine.
Smart guy that knows his subject but difficult to understand and tests are open book but still difficult to do well on.
Prof. Kuddus has an accent, but once you get used to it, it's not a big deal. He puts lectures online too so you can watch as many times as you need and helps to train your ear. He is incredibly smart and will make you work for your grade, but it would be a disservice if he didn't. Advice: Definitely take with mates and work together on questions
He is a nice guy but teaching is a skill I don't think he has. Class is all about doing the "In class quiz" which really has no educational value. He lets you use the book during his exam which sounds nice but he makes his tests so specific you wouldn't be able to do it without it. overall, I would rather postpone my education than have him again
He is so smart but his lectures are hard to follow and I had a hard time understanding him. The tests are open note/book which sounds great.. but they were so difficult and specific it was miserable! The quiz questions in class were so bad that sometimes he didn't even know the correct answer and would have to check. I would take from someone else
He is extremely kind and sweet, but very difficult to understand. I did almost all of my learning on my own at home, studied for hours and hours but always got the average or less on the tests.
ridiculously hard. Very little help from professor.
This is the worst class I have ever taken. I have taken lots of difficult classes in the past, but this one was just ridiculous and unfair. The communication was extremely poor, and his tests were impossible even using the study guides that were also ridiculously long. Expectations were unclear, everything about it was just extremely frustrating.
This was quite literally the worst class I have ever taken. If you are the type of student who learns by deciphering a "textbook" riddled with errors, receiving unclear feedback from the professor, and not learning from mistakes (he does not let you look back on tests), this is the class for you! May the force be with you if you choose this prof.
Ruhul is a sweetheart but his class is difficult. Once you know how to work the system its not that bad. Honestly, I didn't learn hardly anything. His tests are open book, so on the study guide I would just write the page number of where to find that information and learn it as I took the test. Ruhul gives the materials to succeed but I was lazy.
This class was completely online and I have taken a lot of hard classes and this one was one of the hardest ones. I dont think it was the concepts in the material that were hard but how it was presented. Theres lots of reading with long quizzes and I felt I had to teach myself everything. Pro. is kind and good person and willing to help.
He wrote the book, which is extremely confusing and brief. All tests open book, but the book is online so youd have to print every page. Basically memorizing to pass, not learning. Take with someone else.
Professor Kuddus is a very kind /caring person. There is just a language barrier that is very hard to get past. His lectures and self-written textbook are hard to understand. The tests are really hard and the open note policy doesn't seem to make it much easier., as most answers weren't directly written in the book. Choose this class with caution.
Dr. Kuddus is a nice guy, and he's extremely smart and knows the subject well. But this doesn't translate to teaching well. His tests are EXTREMELY difficult, with an class average of less than 70%. He wrote the textbook himself, and you need to print it (like 90 pages) to use on tests, but even the book is very unclear and not that helpful.
Take this class from anyone else. Rudul is a terrible teacher, and his tests are overly difficult. He wrote the textbook, and its also poorly written and very confusing. Tests are open book, but that doesn't help at all. The average scores on his test are about 100/200, but he does give a generous curve of the final grade.
Difficult class that is made worse by poor teaching. The textbook is horribly organized and was written by Kuddus. Grade based almost entirely on exam scores, which are also very difficult. He does generously curve grades at the end of the semester, but I feel like he only does this to save his own skin because everyone would fail otherwise.
Dr. Kuddus is a very smart man. However, his class is structured very poorly. The quizzes are darn near impossible even when you read and attend lecture. A lot of the time we would go through the assignments in class and even he didn't understand his own questions. He is HORRID at giving feedback as well. BIOL 1610 is challenging, find a diff prof.
This professor is the worst I have ever experienced. I lasted two days before swapping classes. He has a strong accent so it is hard to understand him if you don't focus hard on every individual word he says. He isn't confident in his teaching. He answers his quiz questions wrong way more often than other professors. Everyone has given up on day 2
I loved Dr. Kuddus! He's incredibly smart, knows the subject well, and wants his students to succeed. Although his classes are certainly challenging, he is also more than happy to spend as much time as needed to help students understand concepts, and his lectures are very informative, he provides plenty of extra detail to help.
i think everyones being a little dramatic lmao. Ruhul is a great professor and cares about what hes teaching, it is just difficult to understand him sometimes and his lectures are very heavy. He is available outside of class and is more than willing to work with you and wants you to succeed. Quizzes every day in class, but he helps give the answers
This class was awful! when I went to my dad for help he pointed out that this course in which freshman are being advised to take is taught at a graduate level. Test questions are nearly impossible to understand, and there were multiple occasions where one question would completely contradict itself. All I can say is you will be set up for failure.
Tough class, but using unstuckstudy along with the textbook really helped me stay on top of the material. The lectures can be hard to follow, but going to office hours makes a big difference. Not the easiest prof, but putting in the work pays off.
I really enjoyed the class! It was a ton of work so I'd recommend taking Bio alone. He's a generous grader, serious about pushing you to excel. Word to the wise: write METICULOUS notes from his online lectures. It takes
Super hard to undestand. I found myself not showing up to class because I would leave learning nothing. So I decided to go home and teach myself using his slides. Tests are so hard and the wording does not make any sence.
Very hard to understand him. had to teach myself, stopped going to his class because there was absolutely no point. we just jumped into things that didn't make sense. I honestly would never recommend taking this course even if you have to wait till next semester to take it, worst class I've ever been in, left with the same knowledge I started with.
Gave >1 hr lectures that were unengaging, grading mainly based on tests, about 100+ pages of reading per week all with 80+ questions to answer per chapter (assigned 4-5 chapters a week). All that was assigned to prepare for the 200 point exams were quizzes. Syllabus/layout extremely confusing. I get A's every semester. This class was a nightmare.
This class was extremely difficult, it is all reading and the powerpoints are not helpful whatsoever. There are tons of quizzes which claim that they are open book, but after going through the correlated textbook chapters there aren't answers in there. Your entire grade is based on tests. Don't expect to actually learn anything from this class.
He has enthusiasm to teach, but during the lectures, it feels like there is no direction, and sometimes not correlated to the lesson. He is a fair grader. The textbook we used had a lot of pages, making it hard to know where to start. This class is best taught by self-study and taking the main points from each chapter.
He was nice, but it was so hard to understand him, and he could not explain things for the life of him. His quizzes and tests were nothing like the study guides, and his lectures were really long, including his notes. I spent most of my week just trying to complete the notes. I was better off teaching myself.
