She really cares about her students, and her subject. She's very clear in saying what's going to be on the test; she gave us study guides for each one. All the exams were open notes, too, so it was easy to get a good grade. She's a tough grader for papers though, but she does give good feedback and in some cases allows rewrites.

My semester in this class started off poor after I asked her if I needed all the textbooks in the bundle from the bookstore. She told me we wouldn't be using the one with the green cover. Next class our HW assign. is out of that book and I lost $30 in the transition. As a class it was fine, do your HW & take noteseasy A. Cancels class, check email

She does pretty straight forward lectures with tests and occasional homework. My biggest complaint is how she always seemed like she was talking down to students, being rude and difficult with them for no reason. She also inserts many of her own political beliefs into lectures blatantly. If you don't like this I wouldn't recommend. Also, no laptops

Is an okay choice-only good thing is that she gives open book tests. 10 points for map labeling-which u have to draw on ur own to use on test, 20 pts T/F, 30 pts for short ans. essay --but the test format can change. She is too straightforward and rude at times but only so u do ur things correctly. A lot of textbook readings and makes u work hard

Professor Salhi's class was great. She really cares about making students think critically. The class is an easy A if you show up, do the homework, and study for Midterm and Final. She gives extra credit for participation in events, movies related to the class etc. No late work so time management is key, but otherwise pretty chill.

Ms.Salhi is an okay teacher, there is lots of homework in the textbook and reading. Her exams are mostly essays so gets ready to write, also one thing she did was pile a bunch of homework at the end of the semester cause she was running behind. Very limited time to get things done and often makes us do EXTRA work.

She was a good teacher just a lot of homework which was expected for history. Because of the homework she was very particular as what she wanted the work to look like so somewhat of a tough grader. Her lectures were great as she was very clear on what the expected the class to know and to learn. And gave a lot of extra credit just for showing up.

Really great class if you put in the work! Detailed lectures and study guides. Extra credit opportunities. HW assignments every 2 weeks or so that match up with the lectures. Does not accept late work so be sure to do extra credit in case. Recommend!

The main thing is extra credit, she gives many opportunities. Besides that, her style of lecture felt different to me in a good way. I found I was easily able to pay attention and she explained things clearly. I had also liked the fact that I was able to took something away from history besides just facts. I could explain why it mattered.

Dr. Salhi teaches in such an understandable manner and, as long as you attend class, you will pass. She's straightforward with her lectures, and the "busy work" is very helpful for tests which are open note. There is quite a bit of HW, but nothing too hard and she always tells us in advance what's due. Overall, great person and a great class!

Professor Salhi provides good lectures and grades fairly. A lot of information is expected to be learned outside of class by reading the textbook, which is very time consuming. The tests are open note, as long as you complete the homework and the study guide there is no reason for you to not get an A. Attendance and classwork is graded harshly.

She was a great professor. She was very relatable. There was a lot of reading and classwork but it was all in the notes if you just pay attention. She made class fun to go to even if we were just doing a lecture. She doesn't put too much pressure on you as a student. I would take her class again.

The professor was good at catering to everyone by clearly explaining the course information, asking intriguing and debatable questions, and creating visual demonstrations. I wouldn't say there is a lot of writing required for this course but, if you absolutely hate writing small essays to complex questions then this one may not be for you.

I think Professor Salhi was a very good professor. She gave lots of opportunity for extra credit, and did not grade too harshly. The only reason I gave her a 4 instead of 5, is she did not grade in a timely manner. I wish she would've graded assignments prior to taking tests so that we would know we were on the right track. Otherwise she was great!

Honestly it's kinda hard to get anything lower than an A in this class because she has so many opportunities to raise your grade and also gives out a ton of EC options. The workload is relatively easy and manageable, I really recommend taking her course! Love Dr. Salhi!

With Professor Salhi, attending her lectures is necessary, and the homework she gives out is average. Her expectations feel like she's teaching a high-level university class, not a 101 at community college. I got the feeling that she doesn't want her students to get A's. By far my strictest professor during my first semester, and did not always have clear grading criteria for honors. She is much friendlier during her office hours than in class.
