cute prof.... at first a little hard to understand, especially in his french class, but very enthusiastic about his subject, and also very fun. Quizzes every week are fairly easy if you read your textbook.

I get such a kick out of "Dr.'Joe'" heh. He is VERY enthusiastic, encourages questions - yet he can be a *bit* unclear at times. Love this class though, I would recommend him. Very fair grader. Do your reading and you will be fine. Try him! He's fun!

Just amazing! I always looked forward to his classes! He has an awesome sense of humour, I learned so many interesting things in his class! I'm in sciences, my best note was in his class. Amazing prof! Most interesting pschy teacher ever. His tests are hard but if you study and do the lectures, you'll do fine. He's accent took a week to get used to but woth it. Great class, I learnt alot.

I liked his advanced method course. He made complicated stats concepts easy to understand. The weekly assignment was heavy though. I spent 6-7 hours on it each week. But you can do well in this class if you study hard.

I first took his psyc1105F & then psyc2705, and truly enjoyed his classes. He is enthusiastic about teaching and an excellent prof. I never missed his lectures and learned a lot from them. His tests were really hard, but I did great! As the other posts said, he is a very fair grader.

I checked this website before taking his Motivation class and am very glad I did. It was a very good learning experience--I did badly on the 1st test but wonderfully afterwards. I Liked his way of weighting the best test marks. An excellent lecturer and very caring about his students, he is definitely one of the best profs at Laurentian

My favorite prof ever! He is pretty funny and made it quite interesting. Tests were pretty easy if you studied and listened in class. I totally recommend him.

Best prof of my first year at Laurentian. I just love going to his clt classes. An intelligent and devoted prof! I would strongly recommend taking his Intro Psych in French (it takes a little getting used to his French from southern France but it is worth it)! His tests are not easy, but study hard and you'll do well!

Dr. Zou really deserves all those good reviews! I took his psyc1105 in French last year and have just finished his PSYC2707 in English this year. He is an amazing lecturer with an impressive command of both languages, and genuinely caring for his students. In his classes I felt motivated and learned a lot.

I had a really hard time with this class. Although the prof was hilarious and you could tell that he's really passionate about psychology, I found the concepts really hard to grasp. Although his slides were detailed, they were really complicated to understand unless you wrote extra notes. He doesn't use D2L, which is annoying!

The stats become less boring when he teaches. He's very helpful and his explanations are clear. A smart guy.

Dr. "Joe" is such a sweetheart and is very animated when giving his lectures. He uses a lot of real-life examples to help us understand the many psych theories. He truly seems to want his students to be successful. I STRONGLY recommend doing the intensive readings AND the fast readings, as the fast take up many of the multiple choice q's on tests.

Awesome professor! He takes the time to make sure everyone understands the concepts. If one person doesn't, he will rephrase it and explain it a different way until you do. He's very funny, and keeps lectures interesting.

FANTASTIC Professor. I've taken four courses with Dr Zhou so far, and would take more. His lectures are very stimulating. He is always available to help, and is very swift to emails. Hands down the best professor I've had. Highly recommended.

Funny guy, difficult accent to get used to for some. Multiple tests through out the year and a Final. Grading scheme is arranged to definitely help out students. Tests can be a little difficult but he does bump up averages alot and wants students to do well. Final was unusually difficult compared to the rest of the tests.

Helpful, fair prof and good lectures! Tests and final are difficult, but you know how to get well prepared for them. He does not take attendance, but his lectures are interesting and important for doing well in this course. I took several of his courses in English and in French and it has been a good experience. He also has a good sense of humor.

He is a great professor. Always there to help and you know what to expect on his test. Make sure to go threw your fast reading and intensive reading as there will be a lot of multiple choices.

I had him for intro to psychologie, and hands down the best teacher I've ever had. He really wants every student to succeed. I've seen my friends get 50% on the tests during the year and end with an 80%. The multiple choices on the test are unpredictable, and sometimes include mad scientist trying to rule the world. Love him.

Hands down the best prof I've had yet. He wants the students to pass, encourages them not only in class but out of it as well and is 100% available to meet one on one to help clarify anything you could be stuck on. He always offers his help, gives great examples and is very funny. You will NEVER regret taking any of his classes.

I loved Zhou and his lectures. His tests were hard but his grading was fair. I'll take Personality with him in the fall. Best prof so far for me.

I have had him for several classes throughout my four years at Laurentian. I can honestly say that he is one of the best professor's here. He is fair, and kind. Work hard for him and you will pass. Attend the lectures, they are important. Do your readings, they are on the test. His short answer are the hardest.

Great Professor overall! His lectures can be dry but he really wants to make sure that you understand the information and content or else he won't move along in the subject. He's there for you but the tests are hard so study

I liked his clear lectures. He's always willing to help you and replies emails lighting fast. His tests were hard; you had to study a lot. Did poorly on the first one but ended up with a B+! Attendance was not mandatory, but from the self perception theory he taught us, you know you love this class because always go there. I enjoyed his class!

Best professor by far, goes above and beyond to make sure his students pass well and will help you if you go and talk to him. Must attend lectures but they are interesting. Would love to take any of his classes in the future!

Amazing prof, one of my favorites so far. No cake walk, you will have to study hard for the tests but the tests are very reasonable and his marking is very leaniant. If you work hard it'll pay off and you'll get a great mark. I would recommend him to anyone, his lectures are very interesting and you'll learn tons from him.

Amazing lectures! I took him both in french and english, he's by far the best prof i've had at Laurentian. The definitions he gives are always accompagnied by clear examples, so it's easy to understand. His tests are not hard if you pay attention in class.

His tests were really hard . I almost dropped this course, but he's so encouraging , helpful and I ended up doing very well on the last test. He has a great grading scheme. I did poorly on the first 2 tests but got an average of 70% before the final! Hated the book he made us read but enjoyed his lectures. Hope the final will not be a chock for me

Took this class last year and would suggest avoiding his classes if you want to get an easy pass! If you work hard, you can get a very good grade. Amazing lectures, at a good pace and with good examples. A fair grader, one of my best profs. Unfortunately, all his other courses are in french.

His tests are reasonable, required readings are a bit heavy, lectures are engaging. He is really helpful and caring for students.

Took the class online, but he was quite willing to help if needed. His exams are very general and easy to pass as long as you keep up with the readings. As long as you make an effort, you'll do fine. Doesn't have the most patience for people who aren't trying, but really, why should he? This is university, not middle school.

Zhou is the best prof i have ever had. His lectures are educational and funny, since he likes to personalize them to the class. He is pretty average on his gradin, not easy, not hard but he is always willing to give extra credit if you deserve and ask for it. I took extra classes just to take his classes!

Attendance is not mandatory but without the notes you take during them, you will have a hard time passing. Great lectures! ( I actually enjoy going to them). His grading scheme is easy to understand and he makes it easy for you to get points you could've missed.

I enjoyed his lectures on Zoom & learned a lot. It's a hard course but worth it. I also took his intropsych in French & his bilingual skills are very good.
