Dr. Es is a great professor! He's funny and incredibly helpful. If you don't understand something he'll make sure he explains it so that you do. He posts everything online, but it's worth going to his lectures for his humor. Lab attendence is mandatory.

VERY difficult, but only on work load. Make plenty of room in your schedule, but you'll be lucky to have him. An A only takes perseverance and a real intention to do well. Go to his office hours--he's very reasonable and wants to help. Those who don't like him are only looking for an easy A and expecting no challenging work. Welcome to college.

Dr. Es. is very dedicated to his students and he is funny as hell. He'll really work with you so that you understand tough concepts and he really does prepare us for graduate school. A great deal of work so be prepared!

If you don't want to learn anything don't take Dr. Es. Students that don't like this class want to learn nothing in college. It's not a hard class, only a great deal of work. 7 assignments at 15 minutes each. Get over it. He is very funny and puts in more than his time for his students. if you want to learn - take Dr. Es.

I took his Forensic Psych. class and really loved the way he teached and his enthusiasm for the material. He was funny, and had great stories. I was interested in the material before the class, but now I want to be just like Dr. Es. A forensic psychologist. He's awesome!

God I hated doing all that work! Hated it. But now that I have finished and see how easily I ace my other classes because of what I learned from Dr. ES. I am so glad I took the class. Nothing worth while comes easy but you will be better off having taken this class. He is a great teacher!

Dr. Es.'s Legal Psychology class is great! He brings in evidence and real world cases he is working on, even murder cases where he is a trial consultant. I got a great deal out of this class and he made learning actually really fun!

He does lecture on powerpoint, but you have to be in class to fill in the powerpoint. If you miss class a lot, this is not a good class, unless you meet someone that is willing to share their notes. No study guide. Study the powerpoint and you should be fine. Lots of in class assignments. three essays three exams. fairly easy if you go to class.

Don't miss class & study the powerpoints. Great teacher, fun class. I learned a lot.

Like someone said, if you miss class, don't take him b/c of surprise in class assignments that can't be made up. Two "Day of.." papers (easy). Re-read lecture notes, over and over and over and you'll get an A on the tests!! Overall, best class I've taken! He makes class extremely fun! Don't be late to class or you'll have to sing!!

I took the Psychology of Prejudice and Discrimination w/ Dr. Es., and though the exams were hard (study the Powerpoints & the TEXT!), I got more out of 5 minutes in this class than I did during my undergrad career. LOVE HIM! He is so hilarious, and his stories are awesome. Dr. Es. is the best teacher I have ever had!!!

i learned so much in this class and although it is a lot of work you will gain so much from this course! he gives a lot of hw but just do it all and youll get a good grade. plus dr es is super funny and entertaining. id def. take another course with him

Sounds like someone didn't get a good grade. Dr. Es. is the most fair teacher I have had. We bantered all semester long, and I still only earned a C. I love his stories they break the monotony. The work is really tough, but you will learn so much.

THis is the most boring psych class you will ever take, it is research methods. He is funniest proffessor ive ever had, its a lot of work but once you get through it you will have learned a ton of useful information!

Dr.Es is a great professor! This class, as he will tell you the first day, has a lot of workload. The material itself is not difficult, but there is a lot of work! Dr. Es. is extremely funny. You will NEVER have a dull moment in his class. However the second you leave the classroom, be prepared to hate your life, because his class is NOT easy. a typical week you will spend 8-10 hrs doing homework. this is not an exaggeration.

8-10 hours a week homework? Maybe if you are a bit slow, but Dr. ES. makes Res. Methods very clear and entertaining. You really will use what you learn in his class for your upper division and grad school. He is a great professor and you are lucky if you take him.

I'm taking Dr. Es.'s Psych. and Law class and I must say he is one of the best professors I have ever had. His tests are hard so know your cases, but he explains things very well and his real-world examples are spot on. Oh, and he's the funniest and most entertaining professor at CSUF. Take him - you won't regret.

This teacher is awesome! It's a hard class but he helps you out. You need to show up to class even though it is not mandatory because if you miss out on one lecture, you will fall behind and get lost. Exams are fill in the blank which is hard but believe it or not I did better on the tests than the homework! Homework is graded hard. TAKE HIM!

I took Dr. Es for Psych of Personality and he is a great professor. Although his class is a little tough, he more than gives you a chance to get a good grade. Dr. Es is by far one of the greatest professors I've ever had at CSUF. He is so incredibly hilarious and makes learning a seemingly controversial subject thoroughly enjoyable. I would take him again for any class, and you should take him too! The tests are hard if you haven't read the book, so read it and you will be fine! Also, he's kinda hot.

Dr. Es. is the best professor at CSUF. I had him for Research Methods (very tough) and for Psyc. of Prejudice and Discrimination and he was amazing in both classes. RM is a ton of work, but I've never learned more, and P&D is more conceptual, applied, real-world. Made me think about the world I live in. He is a total hotty too!

FUN INTERESTING PROFESSOR AND VERY HELPFUL.

I just took Dr. Es.'s Psychology and Law class and it was so fun and interesting. We talked about all of the relevant cases and all of the psychology behind each case. The exams were hard so make sure you read the text, but I love Dr. Es. I loved this class, now I want to join his research team.

Dr. Es is a great professor. Work load is anywhere from 1-4 hours depending on the week. He provides with EXACTLY what you need online, no confusing book and his PowerPoints are clear. Be prepared for the workload. It really benefits you in the long run!

Love Dr. Es.! He is so hilarious, and he explains difficult research methods in a very humorous way. A lot of work, but it won't kill you. I can safely say I learned more in this one class than all my others combined. And he really cares about his students.

He answered emails ridiculously fast but sometimes I felt like he didnt even notice what I was asking him. I had to email him a few times. Sometimes the assignments were unclear, but hes very willing to explain himself. Course load wasn't heavy for an intersession class AT ALL. Online tests were weird can only take them during certain time blocks.

I took Dr. Es.'s psychology of prejudice and discrimination class and it was the one class where I really enjoyed going to. His lectures were so fun. He would cover a topic from the text and then we would talk about something in the real world that applied - and he would do it in such a hilarious way. Loved him and the class. A+A+A+A+A+!!!

Dr. Es. is great! I got an A in Dr. Es.'s research class and all it took was doing the work. There wasn't all that much. We would have 3 or 4 weeeks of assignments and then we would have a break. Just do ALL of the assignments. He is hilarious and really helps students.

Dr. is is fantastic. The class is tough, there is a lot of work, but he tells you that the first day. Keep up with the work and study the Powerpoints and study guide for the exam. I thought I was getting a B but I got an A in the class. It's a boring subject but he makes lectures really fun. He is hilarious and really down to earth.

He's a great guy, and you'll be well respected for your views in his class. He likes people talking, and will ask you to participate is group discussion, but he's clear on what he wants in any situation. Read the study guides and follow them, and you'll do well and enjoy it.

class that takes effort. theres always HMWK!. giant research paper. statistics and SPSS. was brain fried after every lecture. Espinoza really cares for the students and he does all the work, just do your part. its been my hardest class here at csuf but i would definitely take his class again. this was a good challenging class to take.

Hey friends do not take this class because you will be entertained and learn something! Dr. Es respects you as a student and understands "real life' however expects you to do the work for his class. He has clear grading criteria. He has an open-door policy and is a true gem of a professor!

He's great! He does a good job of connecting the material to things that are currently happening in the world. The reading is dense but interesting. There's a couple small homework assignments, 2 short papers, and 3 tests, plus a couple chances to get extra credit. He's hilarious and I would absolutely take another one of his classes.

Great professor! Knows his stuff! Not a tough grader! Real Funny! Group discussions almost everyday so I suggest you go to class for those in class assignments. One easy essay. His 3 exams were average (not too hard, nor too easy). Definitely recommend him and would take him again if I could! Oh and easy HW! Could have received an A if I studied.

I took professor Espinoza online, for intersession. Psych 300 is really hard, but he made it so clear and he was so helpful. He was there for the students and really quick with responding to our emails. He met up with us in the campus to make sure the materials are clear and we are ready for the final. He graded everything fairly and clear.

Time management is key because there is SO much homework to prepare you for the final paper. Also, PSY 201 is a prerequisite but I took both at the same time and got an A in both classes! He scared me the first day and said I wouldn't pass. Use the TA's for questions on homework so you maximize your points! Flashcards for exams really help.

This was one tough class, but Dr. Es. really wants his students to do well. There is tons of homework, but he walks you through it every step of the way. It's research methods but he applies the concepts to real-world situations and he is so freaking hilarious. I laughed out loud the entire semester. He is one of the best teachers here at CSUF.

If I could take Dr. Es for every class I would. Not only is he hilarious, but knows this class is hard. The class overall was difficult, but he provides you with the materials to get an A. Make sure you make flash cards, go to office hours, and ask the TA questions. Take this class with Dr. Es, you wont regret it!

Dr. Es. Forensic Psychology class was a good time. Learned a lot about how psychology influences the legal system. Loved his serial killer stories. A really exciting class. Exams are tough, and there is group participation work. One paper at the end. He's totally funny too.

Dr. Es is an amazing professor! He offers so much support for the students and is so clear about homework and assignments, even walking you through the hw step by step. He is also hilarious and makes class so much fun. Be prepared to work though, there is a lot of homework. He also offers a TA and research group position to the top 2 students!

The material itself is VERY HARD. However i think he makes it a bit easier. He gives A LOT of homework. I dont like that the TA grades them because they grade hard. The exams are hard! But if you study you will do okay! DO NOT FALL BEHIND! trust me because it is going to be hard to catch up.

the main thing i disliked about dr es was that everything is turned in in person, on paper. he doesn't seem to utilize canvas at all except for having us print our assignments and bring them in. is funny, but gets side tracked a lot by trying to make everyone laugh which is distracting. overall a sweet guy, he's passionate and wants u to succeed.

Taken over the Summer so it was fast-paced. Professor Es. was easy-going and funny. His lectures were clear& exams were straightforward. There was a lecture on each personality theory followed by an in-class group assignment (4-5pts each), 3 exams (50pts each), and a final term paper (50pts, APA format, 3 citations, 4-page body double spaced)

Tough class. Tough, tough, tough. Dr. Es. guides you through each lecture and assignment, but there is a lot of work for a summer course. His exams are hard, make sure you study the study guide. He's hilarious and makes the learning pretty painless, and he always responded to questions and emails really fast.

I absolutely hate stats and anything that has to do with it, but this professor taught it perfectly and always offered to help explain further. Funny guy and always prepared. But be ready to do LOTS of homework. Exams are tough but easier if you study and do the study guide. Attendance is key to succeeding, you cant miss or youll fall behind!

Dr. Es is my favorite professor I've had. He is so clearly passionate about what he does and wants to help his students succeed. Homework isn't hard but takes up a lot of time, but he explains every lecture and assignment clearly and is so happy to go over it if you have questions! I wish all teachers were like Dr. Es. 10/10 recommend!

I'm taking PSYC 300 w/ Dr. Es. over Intersession and it's tough, crammed into a short period, but he made it clear about all of the work at the beginning. He's willing to go over every assignment with us. But what is helping me the most is attending his office hours so he can personally go over the work with me. He really cares for his students.

Just finished Forensic Psychology with Dr. Es. Awesome class. Lot's of in-class group assignments so make sure you go to class. Lectures were funny and interesting, and we covered current cases from a psychology view. Exams are tough, but he is clear in what he expects. Good fun class.

Only reason I didnt give a 5 was because the tests felt disjointed from course content sometimes. Never fully understood where exam material was coming from. He's personable, knowledgeable, and wants you to do well. Do all the assignments (in-class ones have no makeup, so go to class), extra credit, and ask for in-class pre-test reviews!

Loved Dr. Es. He's probably my favorite professor at CSUF. His psychology and law class is awesome! We talked about serial killers and he brought in materials from actual cases he has worked on. But I wan to be a forensic psychologist so maybe I am biased. But his psych and law class was a great class.

Great professor in all aspects funny, and engaging. Only thing is you will have to teach yourself a bit if he gets sick. Tests weren't too hard if you did the study guide and there were two papers one was about your experiences and the other was a research paper. A couple in class assignments and offers extra credit!

Like many others have said, sometimes you have to teach yourself due to his absences or just his way of lecturing. Regardless, this class was enjoyable. Lectures weren't too overwhelming, not much hwk given, and he offers extra credit. Also a very funny guy which contributes to making this class likable.

Like many others have said, he is a fun professor and enthusiastic about teaching the subject. He does have a lot of homework and has a total of 3 exams. But he as well as his TA's are always available to help you understand the homework during office-hours, so take advantage of it if you're stuck. His exams also cover what's in his lectures.

This is a lot of work for an Intersession class and I wasn't understanding the difficult stats on SPSS. But Dr. Es. made time ouotside of lectures/office hours to have personal Zoom sessions with me and walked me through each stat step. I was able to understand these difficult stats because of the extra time Dr. Es. gave me. Wonderful professor.

Took Dr. Es. for PSYC 300 online Intersession and he was very organized. ALL materials were posted on Canvas from the beginning. This is advanced statistics and research methods so it's hard. I got an A, but I got A's in PSYC 201 and 202. You should have a good understanding of stats/research if you take this class. Or take it during semester.

One of the best professors I have had. Class is pretty difficult but he helps so much after class or during office hours. He is absolutely hilarious and makes sure to check on students during difficult lectures. Make sure to make friends in his class to help collaborate on assignments! But overall, hard class but amazing professor!

Intersession PSYC 300 has many, many assignments in a short time period. It's intersession, so I get that. Dr. Es. walks you through every assignment and is really patient with us. But it is online and intersession. I would recommend taking it over an entire semester if you aren't solid in stats and research methods. But I learned a ton in class.

I had the pleasure of being one of the Psych 499 research assistants, and we conducted real research. Dr E is very helpful and he keeps his students engaged. This was my second semester with him in Psych 499, and if you're a psychology student and want to learn hands-on research, this class is excellent.

The best professor you will ever have!!! He cares if you actually grasp the material. His teaching methods are awesome. He creates fun ways for you to learn and apply it to real life. A true gem!

Research Methods is a tough class because of all the homework. But Dr. Es. goes out of his way to walk us through every assignment, and make sure we understand. He does not have a textbook for the course which saves us money. He made time outside office hours to meet with me and go over everything. Great professor!

I took his PSYCH 331 class for the summer, and I highly recommend it. There are mandatory Zoom meetings three times a week, but they go by fast, and you learn a lot. I highly recommend this class and professor. Amazing lectures and little homework as you do the work with your fellow students, and three exams.

Great professor. Attendance not mandatory but I always felt inclined to go since he made the class pretty funny and digestible. He really empathizes with the experiences of students and how stats can be intimidating. Work for the class is pretty consistent and about the same amount each week.

This was one of my toughest classes that I've taken so far! You will have to work really hard to earn an A! He tells you from the start that this class is hard! Go to the TA's for help on the hw that was the only way I got good grades on the assignments. reread his slides until it sticks to best prepare for the exams! fyi* no multiple choice exams!
