Although i met a very cute russian blonde in my class, that is about all i can say that i enjoyed about this class. He is a good man and cares a decent amount about his students, i just dont think he much cared about teaching the material.

He is one of the best teachers I've had. He actually cares about making the material fun to learn, and doesn't just get up and drone on.

Great Person! Great Teacher! Slightly scattered, but his classes are excellent! Had him every semester for multiple classes! All A's! You must pay attention and be involved in classroom activities! Under his wing, you've got it made! Can't recommend highly enough! Even if you aren't an ADJ major, his classes will be some of your favorites!

This professor is beyond awesome. he is an incredible teacher. you must follow along or you will be lost. he is a great guy to learn from and most certainly funny. he'll give you the hard truth to your face but he is very funny about it. He has awesome classes. Take all of his ADJ classes and its guaranteed a good time.

Professor Carter is a very nice teacher and you have to have a sense of humor to take his class. His test are difficult but if you do his assighments and do really well on the project and show up every class, its an easy A or B for you. For his test i reccomend you to study. You will definitly have a good laugh at his class.

Tries too come off as a hard person but is instead a very nice guy. Rarely any homework, gives you the questions on the exams but forgets to give you some. Will help you with your career and getting you a job. Has a huge amount of experience and tends to talk about his life experiences a lot. Great teacher exams are a bit hard though. Easy B though

I love Professor Carter. He is amazing and knows what he is teaching. He is a great teacher for the subject, because he has been in the field and knows what he is talking about. He helped me when I needed it and he can help you look for school or jobs once you come out of the Criminal Justice Program, or transferring to another college.

EASIEST teacher to take. Ive taken two classes with him and wish I could take more with him. Just go to class do your assignments and the tests which are very easy.

Dr. Carter is OK. His lectures are awful in my opinion. I took his 8 week and barley lectured about anything important that will help you on the test. Also doesn''t email back at all. Gives out the homework alot. Im barely learning anything mostly teaching myself. Book is a must. Go to every class. In my opinion take a better teacher.

I have had many classes with professor Carter. Tests and reading are simple and to the point, the group project was alot harder. make sure you get a good group to make sure you get a good grade. Would take again.

He tells great stories and even had a police officer come in to our class which was really cool. He is also so funny. There are some project in the class, but they are fun ones.

His class was my favorite! Great professor. He gives a lot of points that help you for the exams. His profession is relevant to the class therefore lectures were very interesting. If he gives out study guides use them! The final was hard because we barely talked about any of the information in class and there was no study guide to prepare.

Dr. Carter was one of my favorite professors at Nova. You need to study outside of class as his lectures are not typical of your average college class. He is usually just telling you stories about his various careers in the criminal justice field. We had two projects and several tests, but he gives you study guides. He really is a lot of fun.

Attend class regularly, participate, have fun. Carter is a leniant grader and a fun lecturer. Gives study guides that are very similar to what is on the tests.

Dr. Carter mixed his interesting life experiences in with lectures on the chapters of the text. The text costs more than the course unless you get it on Amazon. He gives hard test study guide questions that are usually found in the text. Participation counts. He gives extra credit and cares for his students and tries to help them in every way.

Professor Carter makes the class fun, he tells a lot of real life stories, but doesn't do a great job teaching the material, mostly because he runs through it quickly. But he's a professor I'd recommend taking to hear his stories and he has connections for job opps. Easy A if you search for the answers to the study guides before the exams.

Dr. Carter goes above and beyond to help you pass, and gives you many opportunities to get extra points. HOWEVER, he makes everyone put their phones turned off on a table by the door so nobody can record him. He says a lot of out of pocket things. EXTREMELY homophonic, stereotypical, and makes rape jokes. Dont take if sensitive.

BEST PROF AT NOVA!!! He's hilarious and you learn a lot. I took his shorter week classes and when they ended I felt heartbroken, I just loved his classes. I've had the opportunity to take Dr Carter for 3 ADJ courses. I can easily say he is one of the BEST professors I've taken. If you put in the work, he is more than happy to go above and beyond for you. Whether that be: job recs, letter's of rec, and guidance with school/career etc. Also has experience in the CJ field - knows what he's teaching!

I did the summer ADJ100 class that was self-taught. I logged onto canvas once a week for attendance and did the 1 weekly assignment. Overall, the class was super easy and I liked it. The tests were fairly easy and a majority fo the answers could be found in the textbook.

Dr. Carter is literally the best Professor you could ever have. He is so caring, what's you to succeed, would send you big paragraphs to explain the material if you contact him outside of his office hours, would go out of his way to help you, responds quick, funny, inspirational and the list could go on and on. TAKE HIM! Guaranteed A++! Professor Carter was funny and very lenient with assignments. In the 7wks, we had 5 easy exams, literally he gives you the answers. And one 6 paged essay. This class was a breeze. 1 con is that he is not clear on grading criteria or instructions. Also, the exams were annoying because I had to rearrange it in the txt box.

Professor Carter is a little iffy. He's very knowledgeable but he gets sidetracked often. He has a thick accent so it was difficult to understand him. Coursework is easy but he moves a little fast for me.

I had and I have ADJ 236, SOC 200, ADJ 105 and ADJ 107. If you would like to get an A, you should choose him. Also, he genuinely cares for his students.

Professor Carter Russel is an amazing person AND professor. He is not like those harsh professors who like to give tons of homework, he cares about his students and he also gives great real-life stories. If you want to have a good time learning about criminal justice take him! Very easy class and he is such a kind professor.

I took Professor Carter's SOC 200 class and it did take some time to get used to his grading style. Just make sure you restate the questions and provide sources with your work and you will definitely get an A. He will also not grade late assignments but gives you a week to do them.

Don't come to this class if you don't plan on doing the work. Just because the answers are on quizlet doesn't mean we shouldn't study.

Professor Carter is a chill teacher. He talks about real-life scenarios and likes to discuss them in class so everyone can participate. His remarks or opinions might offend you, but the course itself is easy. Don't take this class if you get easily offended.

He was genuinely funny and understanding. Lectures weren't him just talking he would give real life scenarios and make the chapters understanding. He is kinda strict with participating in class, but that's only because he wanted us to understand what he was saying, and we got extra points on our grades if we did. I would take his class again.

If you're looking to take a course on Zoom, but don't want to participate in class discussion this is NOT the professor for you. His class runs smoother and quicker with student participation. Grades reflect on how much effort you put in. He also has examples of how to format the assignments. You will get a good grade if you follow the guidelines.

Professor Carter is a good professor, can get off topic very quickly but for the most part the material is related. Confusing setup for the canvas but overall good professor and semi easy assignments if you understand the topic. Recommend.

He's the best professor at nova. he is a tough grade you just have to adjust to his liking but its not hard at all just read the directions you will be okay. he's genuinely the funniest and caring professor I know. he will say what he wants and not give a care what we think about it. he doesn't give out 100 which I don't have a problem with.

I've taken Dr carter for 3 classes in the span of 2 semester so far.He is personally my favorite professor his Exams and Homework's are super easy as long as you just pay somewhat attention in class and do a little bit of research. He talks about his past a lot and stories since he was a police officer and in the FBI.Always makes jokes and is nice.
