He's a fun professor! Gives lots of examples, and is willing to spend as long as it takes for you to understand something, even if it takes 5 hours. He's very helpful.
Very knowledegable. Lots of visual displays to help you learn concepts. Sometimes he is hard to understand. His way of teaching will sometimes go over your head.
Once a week he holds study session. This got me through with a C. Also, the SLAK lab was very helpful in passing this course.
He's a great professor, with lots of visuals. Physics is difficult no matter what professor you take, but he takes the time to explain things to you if you don't understand. Curves tests to your advantage. I learned a lot from the class.
He provides a lot of visuals but doesn't explain them very well. He sometimes insults students when they ask questions and the book does a better job of explaining than he does.
He is unbelievable! If you're a visual person, this is so for you! He really got me interested in Physics, the semester before I took Lawrence, the difference is day and night! love it!
Seems nice at first. But he's actually very condescending and anal. Test averages are usually in the low D's bc his tests are unpredictable. Never answers a question, just confuses you more. He is totally contradicted by the textbook sometimes. Unless you're naturally good at physics, stay away.
Very smart teacher with lots of interest for the class. No attendence policy although it is very helpful to go. Good review quizzes. Tests mult. choice and fill in the blank, some short answers. Tough tests but he curves to your advantage. overall not too bad for a hard course.
His tests are not multiple choice, so he gives you partial credit for attempting calculations. The initial few weeks are grueling, but once you get past the easy stuff, it gets very interesting. HW counts 20%, lab 30%, tests 50%
The ones that say hes helpful go to his office hours. He answers NO questions in class - ALL explainations must take place AFTER class. If you cant stick around and your freetime doesnt match up with his office hours its horrible. HW is worth 30% and he wont answer HW questions during class time.
likes to see students do bad
tricky wording on tests. having his old tests REALLY helps. I got a D the first time and retook it and got a B
I took his class four years ago..but when I took it, he was not very clear with his explainations. If you are someone that needs to see numbers when he's working out equations..don't take his class. He doesn't use numbers in his examples. Its a horrible class no matter who you take. I miraculously ended up with a B in his class. Ask questions!!
Horrible!
i do not understand how this teacher expects us to learn anything when he doesnt even teach anything. hes too unpredictable and i wish i had another teacher.
im a senior now... this dude was the WORST professor that i ever encountered here at txstate
I had to take this course because my credit from a junior college wouldn't transfer (Txstate wasting my money for the exact same course). This guy is so easy. We used the same book as the junior college, but he made the content easier to understand. Attendance was required. I was so bored that I fell asleep most of the time.
You must come into his class with an open mind! He does seem very rude all the time, but you can't let it get to you. Be a jerk right back and he will respect you! Doesnt, take up homework, but do it. If take him for 1310, should take for 1320 cuz teaching style is different from others.
Find someone with old tests and study them! He doesn't like to answer questions a lot of the time so you have to go out of class.. read the chapters before the tests. I don't do the homework but am doing great. Test questions are tricky.. I always feel like what I got "wrong" I would still pick from how i interpret the chapter but whatever
Worst teacher i ever had! Confusing and made concepts hard rather then easier to understand.
Easiest prof at TxState. The tests were so easy that by the end of the term, I had an A no matter what my final exam score was. Breaks down concepts to where monkeys could understand them. Nice guy who gets excited about physics. Heard a lot of grumbling from students who probably shouldn't be in college in the first place.
Very nice and funny, but strange.
very unorganized, doesn't explain concepts, lame jokes
HORRIBLE!!tests are hard, his "review" for tests do not help at all, doesn't explain things, makes horrible jokes and thinks people are laughing WITH him, also very unorganized.
If you need to understand the WHY of Physics, don't take Doescher. Granted, it's an intro class, he still glosses over all points and expects you to remember (not understand) the most minute details. If you go to class and just listen to him, you'll probably get an A. No outside work required.
A great teacher. If you goto class, you will learn. Has study sessions at least every week outside of class. Some don't like his style and say his tests are hard. The tests are only hard if you do not read and understand the material. His tests are easy, if you can think rather than memorize. Memorization will get you nowhere in his class.
He's so very interested in Physics, but he gives "trick questions" on his tests, and isn't very good at teaching...which is sad because he's a nice person, and you can tell he likes to teach... he';sjust not good at it.
Dear God, there are other ways of solving problems than the SABER method (invented by the man). You cannot force someone to derive equations in an introductory physics class!!! People are going to solve equations using their own methods. Why would anyone want to go for help with their homework and have to deal with his condescending attitude?
he's a really nice guy, but as far as his explanations go, he's very vague in his conceptual physics class. the class focuses on students who are planning to be teachers. the way he explains the material is as if he's teaching a child. it would be good for kids, but for students our age we read too much into the material and end up messing up tests
He is horrible even though you usually don't have much of a choice when your taking this class! I went to his office hours and he didn't want to help at all just rambled about a whole bunch of crap. I thought I was understanding and I wasn't I don't know what else to do. His test are not multiple choice! THey are HARD!! Good Luck
the worst teacher i have ever had! condecending and gets pleasure out of seeing his students confused. he tries to trick you on tests and in lecture. if you ask questions, he'll just make you more confused. i actually liked physics in highschool and to a degree understood it. he is horrible at teaching. dont take him if you can help it.
very difficult class. if you can get another teacher try to, he is terrible and doesn't explain anything or make sense. he rambles in class about nothing, and everyone in the class makes like 45s on the test. if you do take this class make sure you go everyday and do the cps pads, they really help bump up your grade.
UGH! He doesn't communicate well. He never responds to my email!
i have never hated a teacher more. he makes you look stupid if you ask him to re-explain something. our test averages would be in the 50s or 60s and he wouldn't go over the tests at all; he just moved right along. i saw him in office hours and it looked like a bomb went off in his office and he was very RUDE! terrible
I actually understood my physics class in high school but just the way he teaches is AWFUL! His tests are extremely hard but he usually gives a 5-10 point curve. He is a horrible teacher and doesn't really help. When you ask him a question he just looks at you like you're stupid. I barelly squeaked by with a C in his class. Take another teacher!!!!
Okay, physics is hard...PERIOD! If you are not a physics major, it is going to be a difficult class no matter who teaches it. I loved Mr. Doescher. I got help from him outside of class and he was great at explaining things one on one. In the class, it was a little more difficult to understand, but if you seek his help, you will do just fine.
Seems like a cool guy, but tests are pretty hard even if you study the practice test. Only take him if you are good in math and science.
I wanted to kill myself in this class. If you are going to take him, do not take him at 8:00 in the morning, because he is highly obnoxious. I would not take him as a teacher!
Tests (one per week) 10-12 questions in 20 minutes. Questions are twisted, tricky and intended to deceive. Too much material packed into very little time during lecture ... not to mention the confusing and often non-text definitions used ex. "Eeek-Eeek" rule, etc.
HE is really tricky! Either you get him and you get the class or you dont! I went to every class and recieved a B. HAVE TO GO TO CLASS..!! He teaches it his way not the book way!
He is quite possibly the worst professor I have ever had. If you can avoid him at any cost, I strongly urge you to do so.
He's not a bad teacher. He does teach his way and not so much the book way. We had a lot of tests, 6 of them. His class was tough to sit through but I'm not all that interested in Physics.
The guy talks to himself, that should be a sign right there. Horrible professor, I had to drop his class because I was not understanding anything- A big NO NO.
I truly don't understand people rating him so badly. I really like him. He puts physics into layman terms. Even if you don't 'get it', you do learn a lot and can get very good grades. He teaches in large, full classrooms. SIT UPFRONT so you can hear him.Don't really need book. 8 small 30 minute quiz's, always gives practice quiz's. Easy. Nice guy
talks to himself talks to class on kindergarten level, doesnt make sense, EX what color does sun appear? his answer white, evn tho in lecture he said sun appear yellow but is really white....on test he said the correct answer for color sun appeared is white??? His test are written in his weird language, very rude when aks ?s and doesn answer them
Probably the worst teacher i've ever had in my 3 yrs of college. He spends more time teaching you his problem solving method than teaching you the material. Gets mad when you ask him a question & doesnt answer it. I felt like i was in kindergarden in his class. Id advise you to take Marion.
Horrible teacher. Signed up for Marion (great teacher by the way) and ended up with this loser. Tries to teach his specific way of solving problems, and wastes the whole class talking about one problem and never solves it. I had marion before and he was way better because he was an actual professor, not a nutcase.
this was by far the wrost teacher I have ever taken in my 2 and 1/2 years of college. If you get him, drop him and save yourself the money and the trouble. He sucks! he never teaches anything in class. there are 8 test a semester and each lecture is waste of time. I had to teach myself everything from the book! Aviod this Guy, if you can!
hmm.. he's pretty much the only proffesor you can take, but he's not the worst. Try to sit up front and get into the clicker system. He replaces two of your low test scores with either your final or your clicker grade, whichever is higher. He is pretty confusing, but darnit, he tries. Nice guy, hard prof.
He curves. It bumped me up a full letter at the end of the semester.
Watch out for this guy. He wastes most of class time talking about his method of solving problems which is needlessly complex and confusing. He test you on material that he never covers in class. DO NOT TAKE his class unless you already have a good understanding of physics.
Mr. Doescher expects students to read and to take notes during lecture. Most test questions are taken from lecture. I also liked using the "clicker" in class. Putting forth a moderate amount of effort earned me an A. I would definitely take another class from him.
Ok He grades with a HUGE CURVE. Thats the only good thing about him. Horrible professor. This class consists of 8 tests one just about every week. Tests are 2 pages fill in the blank with some multiple choice, and may or may not be over what he talked about in class. Traffic Light of talk with demerits to keep class quiet. Stay away if possible.
He figures because the class is an elementary physics class, and because most students are education majors, he treats it like an elementary class... Literally. He treats everyone like little kids, and I sometimes feel dumber walking out. However, if you're bad with math and better w/ models, take him. Major curves on grades, so overall he's OK.
If you have to take ANY kind of physics, DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY. He teaches this crazy "problem solving" method which makes absolutely no sense. His lectures consist of him talking about nonsense. Test averages in the 40's. A's and B's in Cal I/II, D in his course. DROP IF YOU CAN. Take Olson or Galloway, or someone that isn't brain dead.
If you write what he tells you to, in your notes, you'll find that using those exact words, on the test, will get you a good grade. He gives a lot of examples, tons of handouts, and a practice test the day before the test. If you put a little effort and pay attention during class you'll do fine. I did a minimal amount of studying and got a B.
Physics is hard. Prof D is a good teacher. He is very available and if you use him as a resource, he is there. He loves physics. I was not at all excited about taking physics, but he made it interesting. Seriously, if you want to actually learn a thing or two, take his class. If you are looking for an easy A, f off.
He's willing to talk your ear off about Physics until you completely understand it. The only problem with his class is his tests have "trick questions" on them. His lecture sometimes has missing info which appears on the test. But he has practice tests, 6 tests over the material, and large curves. He also posts his notes on TRACS.
He is absolutely a trickster, crack smokin swindler, wide nose breathin all the white man's air.
Doescher is great!!! As long as you attend class and take him seriously you'll be fine... He curves the exams 10pts. mostly all of the time. Although sometimes class average range in the 30s and 40s. If you are looking for an easy A don't take him.
This class is extremely difficult if you have no prior knowledge of physics. He is rude and is more than willing to embarrass you in front of the class if you ask a question. He gives six tests then the final which is 20% of your grade and he will put many trick questions on them to mess you up. He's one of the worst professors at Texas State.
This class is hard but he is a fair professor. As long as you come to class everyday and show interest he will help you in anyway. yes he loves to trick up the test but it is only a couple of questions. Big curves on test and final. If you are a visual student then he is the professor to take. 6 test and final takes place of 2 lowest grade.Good prof
He's a really nice guy, but very weird..he talks to himself a lot. I thought the class was really hard too, I barely passed and went to class everyday, read the chapters multiple times, and studied hard. I wouldn't recommend him unless you're good with science classes already.
He is so good about making sure you understand! He uses real world examples to help you relate it to the concept he's trying to teach! He has a weird sense of humor but that just makes the class interesting! I loved his class!!! He is great for visual learners like myself! Everyone told me I would hate him but I DID NOT!!!!! Give him a chance!
He makes Physics more difficult to understand than it already is. His classes are sometimes spent talking about how we think he should organize the time spent after tests, how to keep the class quiet, etc. All the stuff he should be doing. He is pretty strange and mumbles to himself. His tests suck and there is one almost every week.
crazy funny man but no one warned me about him till after i took him. class averages on tests were always 60 and below usually did a ten point curve but it didnt really help. DONT TAKE HIM unless everythingelse is closed im going to come out with maybe a C. Final replaces 2 test grades so do good on 3 out of 6 tests and ull be ok but its not simple
WARNING WARNIG WARNING!!!!!TAKE MOUNT INSTEAD!!!! THE WORST PROFESSOR AT TEXAS STATE HANDS DOWN... NO EXAGGERATION! HE MADE CONCEPTS A LOT HARDER THAN THEY HAD TO BE. CLARITY IS POOR. PLEASE DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND CHOOSE SOME OTHER PROF.
funny, nice guy! he does so much to help us with showing us stuff in class.
SUCKS how can you teach a class and no one understand! I went to his office to get help still confused. I went to a study session with him for the class we did 3 problems in 3 damn hours and we still couldn't understand. He jokes around way to much and never finishes a damn problem. and laughs at his own jokes. Never Again! Get a better teacher
He is kind of goofy and is a little hard to follow sometimes but as long as you go to class and study you will do fine. He is really nice and tests are easy. He replaces your two lowest test grades with your final grade if you want.
do not listen to anything below me that is negative! he is a great professor he curves every test by 10 points and hes makes physics easy didnt use the book once! so dont buy it! i loved going to his class hes energetic and loves physics! overall one of the best professors hands down. oh and notes is like half a page or one at the MOST!Great class!
One of the worst profs I have ever encountered. He tells you of a step by step process that he uses, but will not show it to you because it takes too long. He goes through the period doing one problem and the homework is online but offers no help when you get it wrong. I had to drop bc I couldnt have a D on my transcript. Absolutely the worst ever.
awesome professor! learned a lot!
DO NOT listen to the person that said go to class and you will be fine. I went to class, office hourse, SLAC, math lab, CLC, and personal tutoring and I still coudln't do well on his test. I didn't fight doing his 'method' but it didn't seem to matter. unless you can teach yourself physics don't take him: avoid at all costs
He is a clown with lots of props. Just try to pay attention and study the practice tests he gives out and that will get you at least a C. In my class curves ranged from no curve to seven points. He doesn't use math ever and it's never on the tests!!!
AVOID! WILL MOCK YOU! YOU WILL HATE YOURSELF FOR IGNORING THIS WARNING.
DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS, YOU'LL TOTALLY NOT LIKE YOURSELF IF YOU DO!
This class is hard, actually physics is hard. Doescher cares about teaching though, and any student who is willing to learn his method (and actually put in work studying and practicing how to work problems) will pass this class. I made a 47 on my first exam and a 19 on my second exam and was still able to make an A in the class. It takes work tho
He never uses numbers to go over his word problems. This dude is trying to revolutionize the way of how people think about physics when its just physics 1!!!! our first exam the average was a 43!!! it was a big class and by the drop date there were only about 20 people left in the class, it wa a big class starting out.
His teaching method involves getting students to actually think and not expect the answers to be handed to them, which he actually will gladly do if you visit his office hours. Overall, he is very misjudged and is VERY willing to help out students who are having difficulty understanding the material. GREAT PROFESSOR and very encouraging!!
doescher is goofy and hilarious...if you halfway pay attention in class and do the reviews before the test day you should make at least a B. if you do badly in this class you are probably just stupid...people in my class are idiots so therefore we have 10 point curves on all the tests and it's awesome! he's a really cool professor!
This class is hard, but any physics class is going to be hard. Doing well means showing up to class, taking notes, and studying. He gets distracted easily, tries to make you think instead of memorize, and is disorganized but he isn't the worst teacher in the world. His tests are difficult but he gives 10pt curves and helps in any way he can.
ASTRONOMY: Just shoot me! All this guy does is ramble and give complete non-answers to students' questions. His lectures are 100% incomprehensible. Don't read the syllabus; he doesn't follow it.
He is crazy!
Russell is HILARIOUS! He is extremely unorganized and off-topic, but if you go to most classes and pay attention, you'll do fine. Plus, he replaces your two lowest test grades with your final exam grade (& the final has a bunch of questions from the past tests that he passes back) He cracks me up!!!
As a lab instructor, he is rarely there, but this class is incredibly easy. Mostly it involves mapping constellations and going to the observatory, but really the grade is in attendance. His personality takes some getting used to, but it's only once a week.
He is a great guy, despite confusing the heck out of many, he is always there to help. Take as many notes as you can, as off-topic as he may go, that may be relevant to your test. Write or print out the questions he asks in class, they will be on the exams. I never opened the textbook so I don't think it is necessary. Good Luck!
Class is not mandatory, but you should go because he covers a lot of material in class that will be on the tests. The book is not mandatory, although helpful when studying for the exams. He gets off topic easily, but if you give it some effort you will pass the class. It's mostly common sense.
He is a great professor. He can get off topic very easily, but he is always willing to help during office hours or before a test. If you go to class, pay attention, do the review, and study, you will pass. He also curves pretty much every test. He does get off topic a lot. I advise a study buddy!
Doescher is by far the most fun physics teacher I've had because his videos and toys. He makes a hard class easy by using memory games. If you study for a test and miss the exam its not for nothing, it comes back to you by doing the final and having that grade replace it! Godly... If you're an education major, take notes on his teaching, hes genius
he gets off topic really easily, and maybe lectures for 20 minutes of the whole 50 minute class. He doesnt explain everything very well, and HAS TESTS EVERY TWO WEEKS. If you enjoy taking tests, then take him. His reviews do not reveal everything that is on the test and leaves you hanging when it is time to take the exam. Not my ideal professor
Doescher is the worst teacher i have ever had. He doesn't teach at all. He spends class time making stupid jokes and making noises. He only teaches his way and will not support trying to teach a different way. Our class averages on test so far has been a 40. I would NOT recommend taking this Prof for physics. it will save you a failing grade..
worse teacher ever!!!He only teaches in a way that is very hard to learn and very difficult to understand. Dont get me wrong hes a good person just a horable teacher.people drop out of his class left and right from your tests which leads to another problem. The test are every other week and our class averages were 30s and 40s for the first 3
probably one of the best educators here ease just don't miss class tests aren't hard he really cool ppl need to get over his teaching style cause its genius!!!
Very hard to comprehend especially if you are taking the class because you have to instead of wanting to. The way he teaches is a way only he understands. Tests are hard but if you study A LOT and read the book you'll be fine. Attendance not mandatory; makes it hard to actually go to class.
horrible teacher. doesn't use the book, no homework, no quizzes, worthless notes. tests are nothing like what he goes over in class. the only reason i passed is because i got tutored twice a week and he had to give us all sorts of bonus points because the class average was in the 40's. don't take him.
HORRIBLE TEACHER!!!! I seriously don't know how Texas State allows him to teach.
He's passionate about physics to the point where he wants you to have an open mind/changed view of the subject. He tends to teach in a very fast way extremely hard to keep up with. A majority of the things taught in class are not on the test. If you have a hard time with physics at all I would not recommend taking him.
I would not take this teacher if you have a choice. He is very difficult to understand and his test are extremely hard. In order to pass, you have to go to his office hours and talk to him to understand what IT is he is trying to say.
I was worried about the class after what I read on here about him, but honestly, if you follow along in your text books and take good notes in class, it isn't that bad. I failed physics in highschool and pulled off a B in his class. He does have a very unique teaching style that some didn't like, but overall I liked the class
The worst professor I've ever had at Texas State!! And I'm only a sophomore. He is very confusing to understand, unorganized and expects us to learn 3-4 chapters on test, that he hasn't ever covered in class. I would not recommend him at all!
Hands down the worst teacher i have ever had in all of high school, summer school, and college. i am junior at texas state. i honestly do not see how the university still employs him. Most confusing man ever. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!! I would change my entire schedule so i wouldn't have him again, he never stays on topic and rarely ever teaches the material. He is the worst teacher I've had by far!!!!!!!!
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. i repeat.. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. he barely explains anything. his test are super hard and you wont learn anything. take any physics with another teacher if possible.
I went to his office to get help still confused. He made concepts a lot harder than they have to be. I would NOT recommend taking this Prof for physics.
He is extremely passionate about physics. He won't just give you answers to life, he makes you think. Take the practice tests to his office after your work on them and he'll help you. He's always ready to help. He talks a lot. An A is definitely possible
russell (call him by his first name) has allot to offer once you get used to his teaching style. This class in for non majors and he does a nice job performing demonstrations that could be used in teaching physics to elementary or jr. high students. talk with him after class if you are confused and you might get more confused. read along & u B OK!
Had I been swayed by the negative comments here, I would have missed one of the best educational experiences ever. Doescher is a tremendous educator--dedicated to opening your mind to new ways of looking at the world. He'll do anything to get you to remember info: songs, jokes, stories. So committed! But you have to help yourself too. Read! Think!
By far the worst "educator" I have ever experienced. Complete waste of time and money. When reading these reviews, make sure you check what class the rating is for. He talks to you like an idiot and treats the class like kindergarteners. I did not learn a single thing from him, had to pay for a tutor who even said the tests were awful. Hey Texas State, want to know why you're not Tier I yet? It's because you allow absolute jokes like this to "teach". AVOID. AT. ALL. COSTS.
I loved this teacher. I understand why a lot of people are frustrated with him. Sometimes he makes things more difficult in trying to make it easier. He is extremely kind, he loves this subject, very smart man. DO THE PRACTICE EXAMS. Don't blow off studying because you think you get it. First exam was terrible but then aced every one after.
WORST TEACHER EVER!! He knows the information well but doesn't know how to teach it in a way that is understandable to the students. He makes things harder than they really are and he doesn't explain topics at all. He treats the class like they're 5 years old. He acts annoyed and laughs at you when you ask questions. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!
Professor Doescher knows his stuff. He is very intelligent, however he doesn't seem to know how to get the information he knows out of his head in order to to teach it. He will go out of his way to help you do well by meeting up with you outside of class, but his way of teaching is just very difficult to understand.
He is a nice guy but treats the class like they are in elementary school. He goes over a lot of information quickly and his notes are very unclear and sloppy. No reviews for the tests and they are difficult. Loved physics and was good at it before this class and barely made a C in his class and only passed 1/2 of the tests he gave. DO NOT RECOMMEND
hmmmm the class i know is easy but the teacher only want to see the work in his format so learn it the first time and you will be fine.
Russell approaches the class from the perspective of Teachers teaching physics to middle school. tests are not easy but pay attention and no problem.
He is a very kind man and is very willing to help you. His tests aren't the easiest, but do the practice exams and that should help. He has a very unique teaching method that a lot of people don't like, though. He does notes on the elmo, but you really do need to listen and go to class.
Gives good feedback
whatever yo.
Is not clear at all, he is a funny guy but that doesn't help you pass the class. it seems that the information on the test are always random or that he may have mentioned it once very briefly. I wouldn't take him, I would take Susan Holtz
Horrible! I do not recommend!!!!!!! Expect to fail
Okay, so Doescher is a cool guy, don't get me wrong. Dude is a genius with an amazing outlook on life! But his class is tough. I made a 98 in 1310 with a different prof. Right now, I'm either going to make a C, or barely make a B. The tests contain fill ins and multiple choice. lectures are not helpful, the homework is somewhat helpful. do not take
I have never hated a class or professor more than this one. Professor Doescher is a very nice man but a terrible teacher. He does not know how to get information across to students and confuses everyone when he tries to explain things. His tests are nothing like what is covered in class and are extremely hard. I could go on and on but DO NOT TAKE
He is a very smart person, but has no idea how to explain things to his students. His test are half fill in the blank and half multiple choice, they are very hard! Don't expect to just see the same questions from the homework, he makes up hard questions for his test. Also, if you ask for help he will make you feel really dumb.
Russell is a really nice guy. I am taking him for Astronomy (basically a physics class) and he loves the subject. The bad thing is that we don't have many resources when we need help. We don't have a book, he says he is the best tutor we are going to find at that school, and he doesn't write much. Tests are hard and very random. Very confusing too
Worst prof I have taken. Nice guy, but does not know how to teach. Expects you to work how he wants you to do it and takes points away if not. Spends half the class on simple problems and he does not even finish them. Prepare to learn on your own from the book, as he says that the "book speaks to you."
He is all over the place with his lecture's and the note's he writes down are not useful at. Be prepared to either take notes yourself, or read from the book to pass. Personally that's what I did because I had a hard time paying attention to him. Tr to avoid getting him as a teacher as much as you can.
He's a really nice guy but no matter how hard you try to study for his tests somehow he always has things on there that you've never seen before. He doesn't know how to teach he basically just presents the info to the class. Try to avoid getting him as a professor.
By far the worst professor I have ever had. He gives you 5 testes a semester (not including the final) but prepares you for non of them. He puts everyone to sleep and by the time the test rolls around (which is basically every 2 weeks) everyone is freaking out. His tests are fill in the blank, he makes you draw diagrams, and the test avg is 60%.
