Professor Russel is new at BCC. I was in his first class. He makes you study a lot! but it is worth it I learned what I needed to learn. I recommend him for those who want to learn and no just pass a class.
Yes, he's new but that was a good thing. He is patient, reviews for tests and explains things clearly. I'm in ACG2011 with a different professor now and would give anything to have Mr Dunn for this class too.
Mr. Dunn is the sh--. Very clear, helpful, and well lets just say he is a great professor. You the man Dunn....keep kicking ass.
This guy is the best. He only teaches what is important. He's got a great sense of humor and he's very smart. I highly recommend him.

Great teacher; focuses on what you NEED to know. Is easy but doesn't necessarily hand away As just because he can. If you pay attention and study, you will do well.
Mr. Dunn was awesome, he taught you what you need to know and left out the garbage. He reviewed everything for you and gave you plenty of opportunities to improve your grade. We would ask to rearrange the syllabus due to the storm and he was cool with it...AWESOME MR DUNN!
He is an excellent professor. He tells you everything you need to know. And try to help you in the hotel industry. I'd recommend him to any students.
If you are a person that really has no concept of money management, this is the class to take. A very low maintenance class that is very well instructed. Was a true pleasure to have, his reviews are top notch, ALSO DO THE HOMEWORK!
He is the BEST teacher ever. His test review is exactly what's on the test! Plus he gives you great help on the homework. I would recommend him to anyone :)

Take this class. He is very fair. He is not only easy, but good at what he teaches. you shouldnt get less than a B if your are in class everyday and take the time to do the work!!!!
First time Rate My Professor let me down. Nice guy but not what I consider a "GREAT" professor. You have to work at it to really understand the concepts. Doesn't spoon feed you but makes it possible for you to pass.
I took him in the summer course (which is supposed to be hardest since it's only 6 weeks). He is GREAT. He covers things very clearly and doesn't leave anyone behind. He has three different ways of teaching something in case something else doesn't work. Highly recommended for someone who's new to business (not my major).

Dunn is not as informative as I would like. When asked a question the response is 'research it'. This is not acceptable when trying to learn. He quickly goes over the information to finish class early. I would rather stay in class the full 3 hours and be lectured on the concepts instead of vaguely told about them. His reviews are done quickly.
Professor Dunn is awsome! It is very hard to memorize everything; therefore, he teaches how to research the material instead. He is very helpful, will always stay after the class, or during his office hours to answer any questions. He gives extra credit and curves the grades. I am taking him next semester for TAX2. Do I need to say more?
Prof Dunn is an okay teacher. Sometimes he comes across very condesending. What is worse is that he seems to always give special treatment to the international students and/or any other students he knows personally in the class. Sometimes he goes even out of his way to assist them.

I have known Prof Dunn for a while as he is one of the only teachers for Hospitality @ BCC. He is a good guy, really helpful, he will help you out whenever you need it. His classes are pretty straightforward this one I took HFT2460 was really hard online, he just kept telling us to keep trying. I will miss a cool Professor like this!!!Keep sailing!
He is very clear and to the point. Just read the book and listen and you will do very well
He is AWESOME! I have taken 6 classes with him (in class && online) and taking more next semester! He is super helpful with anything you need and will explain whatever you dont understand. Gives you a review before tests && his tests are very easy! With the online classes just make sure you keep up and dont miss your discussions && tests.
He pass the students he wants to.FAVORITISIM. If you dont want to pass Hospitality classes. take him.you habe to be his friend to pass.
Russ is a nice guy. Not too clear on what you should know/learn. In our class, he curved tests upwards of 30 points because people did poorly. Tests are multiple choice, no math, just theory. If you want a teacher that will pass anyone, take Russ Dunn. Likes to talk about his dog, and his boat.
worst prof ever! I got an A in his class but he lacks in communication. his class was online, he deducts points on assignments for no reason, doesnt follow his syllabus, changes assignments all the time. takes forever to respond to emails and then doesnt really answer the question. his class is easy but he is a horrible prof. sucks big time!
I have him for two classes (travel agency and tour packaging)and he's a really laid back kind of guy with best interests towards his students. Reviews for tests so you know the material. For tour packaging (online class), it has been consistent and the chapter questions are easy as pizza pie since they're word for word out of the book.
Wonderful as a person, and as a professor! Very Very fair!!!! If you show you are willing to work he will help you. Don't be lazy in his class.

Funny guy & loves to talk about sailing. If you want an A just read the book, the powerpoints he shows in class are straight from the book. Copy Wiley homework in class and you'll be good.
He is one of the best teachers at BC. I took him in the past and im taking him again. Very funny and understanding. He gives u the test questions and if you just study that ull get a A on the tests. Ill have a lot of fun in his class too. He tells hilarious stories.
I took him for 3 classes. Pro. Dunn will tell you what to study and how much of your grade its worth. He will work with you. I rented my books from chegg and saved about $150.00 use code CC102492. He gives alot of information, participation counts on discusion and altough in his blended classes test are open book it helps if you read the chapter.
He is awesome, maybe to much so because he talks a lot for the first 20 minutes of class, then lets you leave 15 minutes early. But he is great and funny, just do the work, study and you'll be good.

No doubt he is very nice but, he does not go over the material in enough detail. He will tell you to study a problem but will not show you how to solve it. He gave the class a 13point curve because everyone did that bad. Tests are open book but they are very hard and he will not give you the tests back to show you what you got wrong.

Not an easy class. Be prepared to study & learn things on your own. He doesn't like answering questions, he hates it, so dont even try. He is funny and smart but not a very good teacher. He does reviews for the 3 tests but students still do poorly on them so he curves grades, which helps a lot. You must study and be serious to Ace this class.
Whatever you do don't take this professor for 6 weeks online. He gave us so many assignments and tests due 4 to 5 days in between. You have to self tech yourself and thank god for connect otherwise I would have failed this class.
Accounting I online: He apparently saw his role soley as an administrator. Questions were met with, "It's in the book" as a response. He makes absolutely no exceptions for anyone. If you have any obligations in your life that might make you miss an assignment, do not take this course. Dunn is the antithesis of an understanding, helpful professor.
Professor Dunn is horrible! Taking his online ACCT. II class and I'm struggling. He gives too much work for an online class. If you miss an assign. you might as well kiss a whole letter grade goodbye. Then there's the dreadful Corporate Profile. Tedious & makes no sense. Never taking this professor again! I didn't learn a thing from his class.
Of three accounting teachers I've had in the central campus Professor Dunn was by far the best. He's clear during lectures , has no problem answering questions, and connect homework is always gone over in class. All you need to do is attend a majority of the classes, take lecture notes, and study. Also try not to miss test reviews because they help
Professor Dunn is an alrght person He is nice to talk to He just doesnt answer questions He teaches his tax course at almost the graduate level He is an former IRS agent He loves sailing and spends most of hi time talking about sailing If your not about to enter graduate class in tax at a university ad buy a sailboat avoid this class

Great Professor! Do the connect Hw to help you and quizzes are online. Also gives a test review before tests which are very helpful! Attendance is not mandatory, but it helps to go to class.

Worst class I've ever taken. The only good thing about the class is that he curves the test grades. Wanted to learn more about tax preparation. This class was IRS-level material that I will never use or ever remember.

I loved professor Dunn's class. He knows what he is talking about and funny. I never missed a class session because he truly made me laugh. He cares for his students and I am most definitely selecting him as my Accounting 2 and Managerial accounting prof....
He is the best professor hands down. You have online work and didnt finish? He will extend your deadline. He is super helpful and always good for a laugh. Teaches accounting in a modern way that emphasizes points that can be used in everyday life. You will leave this class knowing everything you need to know for upper level accounting courses.
Best prof ever! He teaches alot of material but quickly and in an easy to understand way. He gives multiple choice tests which are super easy if you do your connect online hw. Really nice guy, extended my classes due dates for hw twice because we didnt finish on time. Most of my class got a b or higher. if your going to take him sign up quick!
He makes my past accounting professors look like clowns. NO DISCUSSIONS, AND 25 QUESTION MULTIPLE CHOICE ONLINE TESTS!! Truly cares about the students... He tries to make the class as easy as possible in any way he can. He even says you could finish the whole class in one day because attendance is not mandatory!!! Amazing man so easy

Professor Dunn is an average teacher. I would tell you to make sure to do all the homework and take advantage of the many tools that he gives you to pass the exams.
Great professor! Really knows his stuff, easy to understand and gives reviews before tests. I had a professor before him in accounting that made me almost switch my major, thankfully I got to switch to Dunn, I am happy to say he inspired me to continue studying accounting. He made this my favorite class and class lectures are relevant to today.
Prof. Dunn is so knowledgeable and such a sweet guy!He makes accounting entertaining and is always in a good mood. Class is harder because the online homework is very demanding. Not his fault! Took Acc. 1 and 2 and got good grades. By the way, he curves if sees you are working hard. I definitely enjoyed taking him!Just don't your cell in hisclass!
Don't take his class if it's an accelerated course. He goes off topic way to much, so you would have to basically teach yourself

THE BEST ACCOUNTING PROFESSOR YOU WILL EVER HAVE! Professor Dunn gives a real- life perspective into accounting, so you are actually learning the information. Do the Hw, read material before class, and use the study guide before exam. I took him for both ACG 2011 and 2071 and plan on taking his tax courses.

He's a decent teacher. He tends to go a little off topic most times, but when he is on topic, he goes 100 miles per hour.
By far the worst class I've ever had at a BC you spend a lot hours on the online homework. He speaks fast so it's hard to keep up with the lecture. He goes off topic often. He reads out loud the review for the test which is read in his own way sometimes you don't find the answers.
This was my 3rd time taking this class. I finally passed with Pro. Dunn. He does talk ALOT & goes off topic often, but he's a good professor. He knows what he's talking about & as long you do the homework and study for the test, you'll be fine. He tells exactly what's going to be on the test and goes over the hw in class as a test review. Take him!

I have taken Professor Dunn for all 3 accounting classes and he is by far the best Professor in Accounting. TAKE HIM! The homework is challenging, but do it. The homework helps you with the tests. I recommend him! He is the best!
Professor Dunn is very good at lecturing. He gets very invested and loves answering questions. Like most people have pointed out, he goes off topic at times but it serves as a bit of a "break". I personally used that time to finish writing notes or preparing a question. I'll definitely be taking him again for Accounting 2 and Managerial Accounting.
I would not recommend to take professor, the reason is he goes off the topic so much and in he's lecture you won't understand anything.
Professor Dunn is an amazing teacher. He's worked in the field for many years as an actual accountant and always has a fun story that relates to the material we cover. I honestly don't understand why he does have a 5 rating. For the people who say he goes off topic, you must be real boring considering you want verbatim lessons from the text.
ACCOUNTING REQUIRES PUTTING IN WORK. The faster you understand this the easier your accounting courses will be. If youre looking for a professor who has life experience, intelligence, sense humor & is willing to teach the student whos willing to do the work to understand the material; then Professor Dunn is your guy. Honestly GREAT PROFESSOR!! No matter what you have to put in time to study and do the HW no matter who the professor is. If you dont understand something he is always available in his office to help explain. He should have an overall 5 rating because he is one of the best! Textbook is not mandatory but it does help a lot for examples
Professor Dunn is the one of the most amazing professors I have ever had- I took him for Accounting 1-3. These are definitely not easy classes and Cengage can be extremely tough but it is doable. Extra points are usually given to compensate for the issues with Cengage and very helpful study guides are given prior to each test. Take this professor!
PROFESSOR DUNN IS A BIG JOKESTER. He is hilarious, and makes things easy to understand. He is always telling you stories about his life throughout the lecture. His exams were a bit hard, so you do have to study. Pay attention in the lecture, everything he says will be on the exam. You will have to study, but I think he's a fair option to take.
I took him online. I did well enough. No feedback on discussion questions. Not adequate response to questions. Insist all questions must be posted on discussion board no matter if it is relevant to the rest of class or not. You will have to push your own self to complete his class. But if you do the work you will pass.
I took this Professor for all three of my Accounting courses & I passed with an A . Please read your textbook and take notes. You will not pass this class without studying hard
If you want professor who has been through it all and some, he's your guys. He knows Accounting like the back of his hand. Dude is funny so class is never boring. He uses real life examples of things that ha has seen or been through himself for you to understand and grasp the concept even more. I would recommend him to anyone!
4 in class tests, optional final. drops lowest test score, even if its the final. curves like CRAZY!! is EXTREMELY HELPFUL on days of the test. attendance is not mandatory, all the homework is done on cengage. if you want to pass & dont understand accounting, TAKE HIM. i had him for all 3 accounting classes and i got an A in all 3.

I wish I could rate him at a 0. He doesn't stay on topic and focuses more on making "funny" jokes rather than teach the material. He never stays on topic and when he does it's confusing. I'm literally teaching myself at home! I miss my ACG 1 prof.
Alot of students like Prof. Dunn because he curves and that is all great but you will not learn anyting at all. He goes off topic way too much. If I could, I would have taken another professor. I will not take him for the 3rd accounting class.
Professor Dunn is an amazing! Yes, there is a good amount of homework, but really manageable. You have to study, but, he gives amazing study guides and plenty of help. 4 test, 1 optional final. The other reviews definitely didn't try. I really enjoy his class. Don't Hesitate. I will be taking all the classes he offers in my field of study! BEST!
Took his class during quarantine and he was super understanding. We were suppose to do discussion posts for every chapter, but he took it out and we only had to complete assignments & tests on cengage. Funny and chill dude and definitely made this whole situation less stressful
Professor Dunn is an awesome professor. He truly cares about his students and is very passionate about this subject. He wants to see everyone succeed in his class and beyond the classroom. I am fortunate to have had Professor Dunn teach this difficult course. He's the best!!!
At first I thought he was ok but as time went by he kept going off topic a lot and only read the PowerPoints in his lectures. He also made a lot of stuff due at once. Ended up not going to his lectures anymore and teaching myself and doing all the hw and tests on cengage myself and got a C. I would take someone else for all the accounting classes.
Shocked to see rating less than 5 for this professor. Prof Dunn is certainly very passionate about his teaching &truly concerned w/ the outcome of his students. He's very encouraging! This class requires reading but he takes time to review anything you are stuck on. I'd take him for almost any subject! He made me rethink & go possibly go to FAU
Overall, he's not a bad professor. Took him for a 6 week class, there's a good amount of work (usually two homework's, extra credit and a test) but its manageable. There are 3 proctored test using honorlock which can be a hassle but we were allowed to use handwritten notes on the tests. I mostly taught myself the work cause lectures were difficult
Professor Dunn is by far the best professor I have ever taken at Broward College. Yes, there is a good amount of Cengage homework, but he will help you get through it! College isn't suppose to be easy! I took him for all 3 accounting classes. Definitely take him! He needs a raise since he's so good!
Professor Dunn is a great accounting professor. He has more then just book knowledge. He has so much experience in this industry. If you want to really learn and enjoy it, take Professor Dunn! I didnt get the sense that he is even really an accounting professor, as most of the time he spends talking about his tax class and other experiences. Based on what he talks about in class he seems like more of an industry guide than a professor as hes totally unavailable to help with the course work. We are completely on our own with HW/tests.
Under no circumstances should anyone take this class. I showed up every class and put in dozens of hours of work every week at home and in tutoring sessions only to receive no help from the Professor. He actually encouraged me to drop the class. He has tenure and makes it clear that he is completely uninvested in his students.
I dont like him I did at 1st but he is being difficult in both his accounting classes 1 and 2. Retire him thanks
