HOT He is the best professor ever, he's so smart he doesn't even look at his lecture notes unless he's gotten off course in one of his discussions. He's also incredibly hot which makes the time go by nicely! there's no one better to learn ethics from.

One of the greatest teachers I have ever had. Is willing to take a lot of time from his schedule to help students. Tests are difficult so read the textbook. Do not take this course at the same time as a writing intensive course because you end up righting what seems like a small novel in the course. Highly recommend for this course.

This professor is one of the best. Gives notes online, provides extra credit opp. and more. You have to listen to long lectures but everyone should hear what he has to say anyway. The tests can be very hard because he tries to trick you sometimes, but if you know your stuff you'll do fine. You won't really need the books though.

One of the most wonderful Profs. you will ever have. Lectures are usually boring to me, but he made this class fun. He was funny, creative, and not to mention incredibly intelligent. Amazing class, even more amazing prof. Don't try and take notes, he does them for you....just sit and listen closely, study for the tests, and you'll be fine.

I find this professor a dynamic speaker. He is a little too lenient with the children who cannot manage not to chat and text for 90 minutes instead of listening to his lectures but if you have to have a fault, being too nice is not a bad one. His tests are slightly ambiguous but not unpassable. Pay attention and you will be OK.

The class is very fair. Follow his guidelines and you will more than adequately prepared. This class is a fairly easy A. Be prepared to think for yourself and be mentally stimulated. He is an exceptional orator and educator. If you want an engaging class about how to live your human existence, this is it. Write notes and focus on lectures.

Dr. Swanson has to be the best professor I've had yet! I took him for Ethics and it was the best class I've ever had, I'll never forget it. I really hope I have another class with him in the future. He creates a world out of his lectures which you get sucked into, he brings them to life which makes understanding them so easy. Just pay attention!

If your looking for an easy a, this class is not for you. It was very hard because the material he teaches, its confusing! But there are only 3 exams which are half multiple choice half true or false. 5-10 journals and some extra credit. The class is hard!

I wasn't interested in taking an ethics class,however now I am glad that I did. His lectures were interesting and opened my mind to new ideas. We had to journal a few times, nothing major. Follow the rules and you will do great. He was accessible to answer your questions via his office hours or email. Hard class but well worth it!

Awesome class if you dont mind listening to lectures. I really learned alot and found that I enjoyed this class more than my others. Dr. Swanson is very helpful and will answer any question you have, he will also take the time to go over tests and the short one page journals with you individually if you want to discuss your grade.

Swanson's class is very interesting you learn new topics everyday. His test are very hard especially because he make 30 out of the 50 True and False its almost as if he wants us to fail the test. and hes the only professor that makes you do journals which are very difficult to do. i just don't recommend this course to any college beginner.

If you take GHQ, take Swanson. Technically you have three Professors, and you have joint sessions one day and individual sessions the next. Swanson is easier than the other two. His philosophical discussions are very deep and he gets you thinking. Very understanding individual if you have a personal issue. Highly recommend.

If you don't dedicate a lot of time to reading & reviewing don't take this class. He is extremely helpful, intelligent, & loves what he is doing! Tests are 50+ questions & really hard. Doesn't like it when you text in class. He's a little strict but if you really want a challenge he's definitely worth taking!

Going into this class I was very skeptical on the class. I didn't think that I would like the lecture type class that he told us it would be but I actually learned a lot. Swanson knows his stuff and he is very helpful and not a lot of homework assigned. I'm glad that I took the class and I am looking forward to taking more classes with him!

Swanson is an excellent professor! I took two of his classes and enjoyed them both immensely. I would suggest his class only to those who have an interest in philosophy, since there is a lot of reading and lectures involved. He is not an easy A but rewards for participation and effort. Definitely a class worth taking if you're up for the challenge!

Professor Swanson is awesome. He's very passionate about Ethics and I found it to be a very interesting course. Tests aren't bad as long as you read all the lectures and the exam reviews. Fair grading on the journals and gives you plenty of time to get them finished! Make sure you attend class and always have your notes ready.

Prof. Swanson is one of my all time favorite teachers. He is incredibly nice and always willing to help out a student with-in reason. The only downside is there's a bit more writing in his Ethics class than I expected but it was still manageable and VERY easy. Also attendance is 30% of your final grade but he's incredibly interesting!

The class was really easy. All you need to do is listen to his lectures and take notes. This class does require writing;there are two journals that he assigns. He provides study guides for all of his tests. The final exam is pretty much all of the tests combined; I didn't study and I received an A. Last but not least,he is very attractive.

He was an amazing teacher. If you show up and participate You will easily understand. I didn't always read like I was supposed to but his lectures make up for it. But reading helps! He was always willingly to stay and help. I honestly looked for other classes he taught to sign up for. The essays suck but it is college, what do you expect?

Dr. Swanson is an amazing professor and loves what he does! He makes the class interactive! There are four test, 2 journal entries (somewhat easy but start early). Participation is 30% of your final. Always review your tests once you get it back from the Professor after he grade it cuz most of the questions in Finals comes from that! He is HOT too!

Pro. Swanson was a really cool guy. He was passionate about ethics, which made the class easier to sit through. If you hate lecture-based classes, then you should not take this class. Study hard for the four test that he gives, and make sure you really try on your two journals. Print out the notes for class. Work hard and you will pass.

Dr. Swanson is passionate about his field of expertise. He offers extra credit so if you are sitting at a C or B by midway do all extra credit! Take notes in class and study hard for four test! With test and extra credit I finished with an A :) Wonderful person to learn from. Show up to class, study, and earn your A!

Read the material for logic!!! Great lectures but a tough subject. Don't miss a lecture because some of the concepts are hard to wrap your head around with the text alone. Study hard and practice, practice, practice!!! Repetition of the exercises really made the difference for me personally.

I took professor Swanson for Logic this past semester, he is one of those professors who cares about his students learning something. He keeps his lectures interesting and keeps the class involved, very nice guy. However there isn't much grading so make sure to study well for tests and quizzes. Overall, very good professor!

Dr. Swanson was easily my favorite professor this semester. All of his lessons are lecture based, but he posts notes for all of the lectures and exam reviews too. The only things that are graded are tests, attendance, and the journal, which is a lot of work but it's not hard and there's a ton of opportunity for extra credit. Great teacher and guy!

Professor Swanson is such a caring Professor. He really cares about his students and that they pass the class. If you show him that you care and try, then you will have no problem passing the class. Well, where can I start? Professor Swanson was the first person to teach me Ethics, and it was a lot of fun! lecture heavy. Read the lectures, and you'll be solid! The journals matter, so do them. The tests are easier than they appear so try not to worry so hard about them. Swanson is great! Plus he's like the hottest silver fox I've ever seen!

Professor Swanson is hands down one of THE BEST professors I've ever had! He truly cares about his students and is passionate about what he's teaching. The assignments are a little tricky just because they make you think more abstractly, but if you like being pushed instead of just getting an easy A then i would totally recommend!

Terrific professor for Human Great Questions. I have taken three classes with Dr Swanson. He is the best.

This is a great professor and was one of my easier classes. He grades you on attendants, journals, quizzes, and projects. The quizzes are given almost every class and on the next chapter that will be discussed. The quizzes are easy if you read the material a day before and make sure you use the book to study (best way to study for this class).

Dr. Swanson knows what he's talking about and gives really detailed lectures. He thoroughly explains ideas and invites people to challenge the material.

He's caring about his students and is there if you need help. He cracks jokes and keeps everything fun. Make sure to keep on your readings because he sometimes has pop quizzes. He'll tell you the class before a quiz what the quiz will be on. There's no tests at all only a group presentation at the end. Do your philosophy journals! Worth a lot

Doctor Swanson! There are so many wonderful things to say about him. Hes a wonderful professor! Wonderful guide, and a beautiful soul overall. PHI2010 felt like a life-coaching class where we learn, get involved and participate and conversations. HE IS EASYGOING AND NOT JUDGEMENTAL. The class actually brought me closer to my faith. HE ROCKS!

His class is a lot of fun and its very easy as long as you stay on topof things. It's a very friendly enviorment and you will feel at home.

Dr. Swanson is a GOD. He is legit the best professor you could ever take. I have never had a better professor than Swanson. If I could take him for EVERY one of my classes, I would. He literally descended from heaven.

Dr. Swanson is an amazing teacher, a very nice person. He is not pursuing you to make you fail. He is legitimately interested in your learning process, so he is going to help you. But be aware that the only grades will come for quizzes and exams. Read your book prepare your quizzes, make questions, and you are going to succeed in this class.

Very nice and motivating prof. But introduction to logic, not at easy as it sounds. If your smart and want a good professor take him, I have nothing negative to say. The material though for PHI2100 you may want to reconsider, or take his warning at the beginning of the course. Other than that, hes an awesome funny respectable and smart teach.

I seriously cannot imagine learning logic from anyone else. He works so hard to make sure to teach so everyone understands and class is very welcoming to discussion and debate. I wish I could take this class with Swanson 10 more times, seriously the best class ever.

Very elegant and professional professor. Assigns a reading and most likely an easy quiz will be given the next class on it. He is very sociable and easy to approach. Amazing and inspiratonal lectures

A professor who genuinely cares. Though the quizzes are hard and make up for most of your grade, you should do well as long as you do the assigned reading. In addition to quizzes, your other grades are participation, a journal of 10-15 entires, and a presentation instead of a final.

With Dr. Swanson, you learn lessons not only to pass the class, but to live by. I am still undergoing the effects of his amazing lectures; deeply inspiring. Professor Swanson is a very handsome man who really cares for his students. He provides study guides follow that and you be fine 3test, 3 journals from your readings. Be on time and dont miss class he expects attention and participation from his students. Great lectures

This class isn't for everybody. A lot of memorization is required. The professor will do everything in his power to help you understand the concepts. He's even offered to "forget" about some quiz grades if you actually improve with the exams. That being said, only 8 assignments graded. 3 exams, 4 quizzes, and participation.

Dr. Swanson is one of the coolest professors on campus. He has a calm manner and makes a confusing subject fun to talk about. He would usually go on tangents that made the class engaging and fun to attend. Overall there's 6 reading reflections, 6 conversation summaries and 2 300 word essays for his journals. 2 journals throughout the course.

Dr. Swanson has been a huge inspiration to me. He is a great guy and very engaging. There will be about 10 quizzes on readings from the textbook as well as a group project at the end of the course.

He's a great teacher but expects students to have the same interest in philosophy that he does. I have no interest in philosophy which is what made this class challenging. If you're passionate about philosophy, he's the one for you. If not, he's still a good teacher, the class is just a bit more challenging.

Professor Swanson is by far the best teacher I have had in my 2 years here, he opened my eyes to so many things. I've taken 3 of his courses and cannot recommend him enough! You can tell he genuinely loves his job and his students. If you take any of his classes you're certainly in for a treat.

I absolutely love this professor. He knows what he is talking about and engages his students into a philosophical mindset amazingly well. If you take interest in philosophy I definitely recommend. Quizzes are easy if you do the - usually light - readings, and there's occasional discussion questions. Very kind and passionate about his subject.

This class you had to work for your grade. Dr Swanson has amazing lectures. He is always available if you are confused even the slightest bit. He wants the best for his students. Swanson realizes that life is not easy, although he still reminds us that life will not always be easy, and that everyone has to get done what has to be done. Great prof.

Professor Swanson was a very patient and passionate teacher. You can tell he really believes what he teaches.

Took this class virtual. I fell behind a bit and couldnt catch up. But his lectures were interesting. He gives really good feedback on short essays. Hes more focused on theory. Class consisted on reasdings and times short quizzes. No final. He answers emails fast. Is willing to help you

Prof. Swanson is one of the best teachers you could ask for; He's a bit long-winded, but he still finds a way to turn an otherwise long and tedious lecture into a thought-provoking and genuinely interesting conversation. You'll wish this guy taught you for every one of your classes.

I had IDH 2910 with Dr Swanson and Professor Housley. I loved this class. This was a small group, so each student was able to express their opinion. There were no right or wrong answers in this course. It gave the students a great description of life. Sadly this is Dr Swanson's last semester at FSW after 17 years. Great class.

I can only say good things about Professor Swanson. He takes the time to read every of your discussions and assignments, he gives great feedback. Lectures could be long and critical thinking is crucial for this class.

Lectures can be lengthy, but Professor Swanson provides great feedback and encourages critical thinking. I found Unstuck ai and the free textbook very helpful for study prep.
