Very courteous, simple tests. Extremely reasonable. Not much work involved in class.
Great teacher! She made class interesting and always had opportunities for extra credit. If you know the basic material you should do very well in class. I recommend her!
Read and study the material and you will do well. The class isn't hard. I forgot to do that and my grade reflects it.
Class lectures are always interesting because she gives examples of her cases as a lawyer. There are two tests and the other third of your grade comes from attendance, class participation, and easy research projects. Know material and read book and you will make an easy A.
Her grading made absolutely no freaking sense i scored 95% on both test did two "extra credit" options that count as 30% of your grade did not miss one class and still only recieved a B. I am trying to get this grade to the A that I earned. Also she never talked about business she always got sidetracked with liberal agenda.

She is pretty attractive for a middle aged woman. A very easy course. If you go to class and actually listen you will only need to spend an hour studying for the exams.
Easy course, but it can get boring at times. Read the book, pay attention in class, and do extra credit and you'll get an A.
Great professor and very interesting class. Just go to class and study for the three exams and you WILL receive an A.
not the brightest person in the world but the class is VERY easy. she offers a lot of extra credit. only 3 tests, all of which come directly from a study guide.
EASY EASY EASY Class!!! Come to class, take notes on lecture, she reads straight from the book. Takes attendance. Lectures are kinda boring but helpful from test. Examples given in class are almost word for word on test. hands out study sheet for test do that and you will be fine! EASY A+!!
The best class I've ever had!
Took the class online and loved it! At first it looked like it would be too much work especially during the summer but all the cases were extremely interesting and were easy to relate to. Great class for any business student.
This class was pretty easy, but Dr. Hall is a HORRIBLE teacher. She is completely clueless and does not prepare adequately for class. She thinks she is brilliant, but clearly demonstrates otherwise.
This class is a complete joke. It's boring, but easy. Mrs. Hall gives study guides before the tests/quizzes that are almost exactly like the tests. Easy A+. Take her.
Very nice teacher! Her lectures were boring at times, but the class was a breeze! TONS of ways to get extra credit, and she lets you use the book and/or notes on most of the tests.
She is easy, but the class is super boring. Tons of extra credit though.
Shes ok... all she really does is ready from the book thats all but other than that easy class
Pretty easy class overall. She mainly just reads from the book. Usually lets you use a study guide on test. I played on my laptop most the time and got a B and put forth absolutely zero effort. Easy A if you try
Pretty easy class overall. She mainly just reads from the book. Usually lets you use a study guide on test. I played on my laptop most the time and got a B and put forth absolutely zero effort. Easy A if you try
DO NOT TAKE ONLINE...the assignments are easy but the tests are impossible. Nothing you study is on the test it is ridiculous...not open book etc PROCTORED....ussually a scale but not enough to make an A.
Mrs. Hall, the cougar legal studies teacher. Boring class. I hated it. She sits in front of the class and reads the book. The study guides will prepare you for the test and I finished with an A, but those lectures were hell. Plenty of bonus points to be earned though.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE. The classwork is easy but the tests are extremely hard and very little from your notes is actually on them. She does give a lot of bonus though.
DO NOT TAKE THIS ONLINE!! My friend took this as lecture and she has an A. She gets to use her study guide/note for test. Online, you DON'T. The tests are soo hard. You get bonus, that's the only way I might make a B. If you have to take this class, DO NOT take it online.
BORING CLASS! Unfortunately attendance is mandatory because all she does is read from the book. If you don't pay a single ounce of attention in class and just do the study guide before the test, you can easily come out with an A. She also gives several extra credit opportunities that are really not worth going to if you have a good grade.
Really easy but extremely boring. Just study the study guides for the tests, and some of the tests are open book. HIGHLY Recommend taking her. lots of extra credit opportunities
Very easy class. Easy teacher. Class is a bit boring at times, but she offers plenty extra credit. A little effort should get you an A+.
Learned a lot without being tortured. Highly recommend.
Learned a lot without being tortured. Highly recommend.
Really easy class. I learned a lot from just sitting in class listening. She really does try to make it interesting and lets you use your study guide on the tests.
Informative, low key class.
Very easy class. Perfect attendance to get your lowest test score dropped, and study guides are very similar to the tests. You will normally be able to use your study guide on the test even.
Very nice teacher who is willing to give you plenty of chances to make a good grade. The students in the class were usually the ones who made the class boring at times. Most just gave blank stares when she asked questions. If you are a texting, Facebook fanatic you probably won't do well.
Teacher is very nice and goes over the material in a through manner. She even phrases things the same way consistently so it it sticks while learning. Can use the study guide on most of the tests, and provides lots of extra credit. Go to class, make a decent study guide, write an easy paper on a video or two and you will definitely get an A.
Great professor, very easy to work with and always available to chat with online. Enjoyed her class immensely and would highly recommend to anyone who needs to take Business Law.
There is no reason to not make at least an A in this class. Tests are identical to the study guides and there are tons of extra credit opportunities to add points to your final average. Class is mandatory but you dont even have to take notes. Definitely take this teacher. So easy
Easy class. You can only miss 5 times, but as long as you look at the study guide before the test you should be fine. A few of the tests she actually lets you use the study guide. Offered 10 bonus points on overall grade.
Extremely interesting with the videos and cases. Some of the material is a little boring, but topics are all important. One of my favorite classes and professors.
boring and she didnt teach well. Mostly just sat there and watched you tube all day. Not interesting as i would've have liked.
Easy class, no homework. Pay attention to the lecture and the tests are easy.
Dr. Hall is an amazing professor. She is very easy and lets you use study guides on the Exams. She is clear with explinations and is very helpful. I would highly reccomend her. This class is a breeze.
Easiest class I've ever taken. Material isn't difficult, her notes are just like the tests, and most of the time you are allowed to use your study guide on the test. Oh, and you can get a possible 10 bonus points on your final grade. She's very nice and accommodating. Take her if at all possible.
Low key, boring class. You don't even have to pay attention in class at all. Make out a decent study guide and you'll be fine. You can do extra credit assignments and get up to 10 points on your final average. Easy A+
I took the online class. The material isn't too hard, it's Hall's clarity and organization. Under "modules" in eLearning, you find the readings for the test: audio lecture, powerpoint file, and textbook chapter. ALL 3 GIVE CONFLICTING INFO. Some is found here, this slide, this page, this point in the lecture. Very unclear and nebulous. BAD prof.
BORING class and one that you have to take notes and listen in. You need to study for the tests, they won't be easy unless you do. Teacher does a decent job at trying to make it interesting. Just study and pay attention and it should be an easy class with a lot of bonus opportunities, NEVER used book.
While the tests were easy and the online course self explanatory, it required an act of Congress for communication from the instructor. As I know they have many classes but each student may need some help and end up suffering for it
Great teacher and class, I definitely recommend her. I studied the night before and did well on the tests. Do not take the one day a week class, you will be asleep the whole time
Easiest class ever, you have to try to not get an A, she hands out study guides before the tests and its the exact same thing you'll see on the exam,if you fill it out and spend less than an hour on it, you'll ace the exam, sometimes use the study guide on the exam, she gives so much extra credit that is so easy and worth 10 extra pt on your average
Hands down the worst class I have ever taken. Prof was impossible to get in touch with and rude if you managed that. She was as clueless as I was about the online structure and organization of the class.
Pretty easy class. Attendance wasn't made mandatory, BUT IT IS 20% OF THE GRADE!!! Just show up, half ass pay attention, and use the study guide she hands out before each test. Easy A/A-
Take this class, bottom line. I texted through every class, did not pay attention one bit. I did not study once, just use businessdictionary to write definitions on a sheet of paper before the tests if you need to. dont buy the book. Literally, if you don't make an A+ in this class, you need to leave college. It is that easy
Go to class, study the night before the test, and you should have no trouble making an A in this class. I recommend her.
Good teacher. Boring, but easy.
Easy class. Changed textbook about a week into the course which totally screwed me over. I ended up never getting the correct book from the bookstore. Whatever. She clearly could care less about her students, but if you want an A or easy B then get in her class.
Just finished this course and loved it. Her lectures are pretty good -- if you read the chapters and take the quizzes then you'll do great in this class! I enjoyed it
Class was easy. I can't say that a month from now I will remember any of the material. Had almost no contact with the instructor since this was online so I can't really comment on her. Take the class, especially if online.
Easy class. She covers the basics and is pretty friendly about everything! Not a difficult class at all. She allows five absences then they start counting against your grade. She also gives study guides which follow the test.
Dr. Hall is very intelligent and tells us about a lot of interesting cases. She gives study guides for every test and writes most important things on the board. Tests are pretty easy if you learn everything on the study guide, and a few had bonus questions. Attendance is mandatory. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. Enjoyed this class!
Ruth is a real attorney which really brought value to the class. However she just lectures without any sort of guiding powerpoint or structure so it's hard to know what is essential information vs. when she's off on a tangent. If you do the study guides before each test you will get an A or a B. Attendance is mandatory to get higher than a C
Easy class. Her tests are exactly what the study guide covers, and she gives lots of extra credit opportunities (which can potentially amount to 10 percentage points added onto your final grade.) She is very nice and her class is laid back. However, she doesn't give great notes or lectures, so reading the book is necessary for success in the class.
Class was pretty simple, go to class and take notes and you should be fine. Grade is based on four exams. She gives a study guide for each, and goes over the study guide the class before each test. I barely used the book and did just fine. I would recommend taking Professor Hall for this class.
If you legitimately make an effort in this class, it should be impossible to fail. Lectures are incredibly clear and the text is straightforward. She gives enough extra credit to improve your test averages by a letter grade if you take the time to do the work. I highly recommend this awesome professor.
Boring class but tests aren't difficult as long as you read the chapters and review the powerpoints (which she puts on Blackboard). Class attendance is mandatory.
I found her extremely scattered during lecture so I got to the point where I didn't even try taking notes. She gives a study guide with everything you need to know for the exam which makes it extremely easy to pass. She takes attendance everyday and you can only have three unexcused absences before she starts deducting points off of your final avg
This class is really easy and the subject matter is things you need to know. Attendance does count but we were rarely there the entire time. The tests are all multiple choice and she gives a study guide with all the terms on it.
Boring lectures with non compulsory attendance. However, they are semi-frequently broken up with interesting documentaries. Tests are average, but if you listen to her speak as she goes over the study guide and write down exactly what she says, they are substantially easier. Figure that out before the first test.
Take this class. You have to show up but the only time you need to pay attention is when she does the test reviews. Gives extra credit. I recorded her lectures when the test review was going on and made a 100, 98, 85 and 94. So easy.
I took this class online and it was super easy. She gives a suggested schedule but it's not firm so you can take the class as fast or as slow as you like. However, if you stay ahead of the suggested schedule, you get extra credit. She also gives extra credit for every module. Two proctored tests and three unproctored tests.
Dr. Hall is a good teacher but she often seems unprepared for class and seems to ramble. The tests are not that hard but its often unclear what is going to be tested. not the best but certainly not the worst
I took the online course and tests had no specific date as long as done by the end of semester. She offered extra credit work, along with extra points for following her suggested course schedule. Tests were no joke - the were completely different from study guides so READ STUDY READ STUDY READ STUDY and READ more.
Easy easy A unless you bomb a test since there's only 4. Each test is 25% so the whole class is just graded based on those tests. However, there's an insane amount of extra credit that helped me come back from a 50 on a test (i forgot about the test and didn't study) to get an A-.
All power points online but she does take attendance, and if you miss more than 3 classes then you start losing 1% of your total grade with each additional absence. No daily homework, all tests, all multiple choice.
take this class! you have to go to class but only pay attention on the day before each exam. she gives a study guide so just fill it out when she goes over it and you'll easily make an A. probably my easiest class this semester
The only assignments she provides are 4 test, all equally weighted with little chances for extra credit and no drop grades or retakes. Only 3 classes are allowed to be missed for a MWF class before a grade drop and her lectures are overall really boring and speedy. Pay attention or you're toast.
Attendance is mandatory and the lectures are dry. There are only 4 tests that count towards your grade but she offers many extra credit assignments. She gives you every powerpoint she goes over so as long as you look over those and do the study guide, the class is an easy A
Your whole grade is based off of 4 test with several opportunities for extra credit given. She goes over everything the day before the test and if you pay any attention you should do well.
There were five test in this class. Two of which are proctored. She provides practice tests for those and they do count as part of that 25%. The assessments and extra credit are optional. I recommend reading and getting definitions and concepts down. The tests are easy as long as you are familiar with the material.
Dr. Hall is very interesting, an easy grader, and very caring towards her students.
Really recommend taking Professor Hall for LGS 200. She's clear, fair, and very knowledgable about LGS. The class consists of 4 tests (each worth 25% of grade) and extra credit for each unit. If you go to class, look over the study guides, and take advantage of extra credit opportunities, you should have a really good chance of getting an A.
The lectures make absolutely no sense, but for some reason attendance is mandatory. She is a nice person but the lectures are long and boring. Class is a grind to get through and not interesting material at all.
You're only allowed 3 excused absences which isn't bad. Attendance in mandatory, tests are exactly like the study guide, don't need the book, posts her powerpoint online, and she gives a fair amount of extra credit opportunities! She was a good teacher, knows her stuff.
She doesn't even know what she is talking about. Tests are your only 4 grades in the class and doesn't give enough extra credit.
i had no problem with her but i can see why people may not like her. she seems to get flustered pretty easily
easy but painfully boring
Your grade relies on your four test grades and that is it. If you don't do well on a test, you're set up to fail. Her lectures are boring and she doesn't really care about her students.
Hall has good powerpoint that she covers in every class, which are also posted on Blackboard afterwards. However, the way she talks is fairly boring and she doesn't do any effort to keep the class awake and active. Attendance is "mandatory" with you having to sign your name on a paper every class, but I skipped at least 7 classes and had no penalty
Amazing class I learned so much but make sure you attend every class or have someone sign you in. Graded off five test but she does give extra credit.
This was an online course . There were five exams for the course, that were required to be taken by the end of the semester, two in which were proctored exams. There was no interaction from the instructor. It was basically just study, read the chapters, and take the exams. Having assignments would have been helpful throughout the chapters.
If you pay attention in class, youll pass.
Took this as an online class based off of all of her great in class reviews. HORRIBLE online class. DO NOT TAKE ONLINE. Prof Hall is nice enough but takes 2+ weeks to email her students. Will not give any extra help or guidance to excelling in the course. Online lectures are so boring and it is her reading (word for word) the PDF.
nice teacher test need to study for just pay attention
Good teacher, her lectures can be very boring because she reads straight from powerpoint. Material is not that challenging just make sure you read it. Attendance is not mandatory despite her saying it is. My grade was a B- and I hoped to get it up to a B and she refused to put in an attendance grade even though the syllabus said its mandatory.
Attend the lectures and take notes. Reading the book is optional but helpful. Lots of extra credit highly recommend doing it.
Go to class and pay attention and you should easily get an A. The examples she gives in class are usually on the test. She also posts study questions for every test. Going to jury trials is extra credit and she gives some random opportunities every once in a while. Would definitely recommend
Lectures are kinda long and boring but if you go over the powerpoints youll do just fine on the tests (which are your entire grade). Pretty interesting class and she does a good job of teaching it.
She is a good professor but her lectures tend to get boring. I honestly did not pay that much attention to her lectures because she puts all her notes on Blackboard. You only have 4 tests and that is it it for grades but she does give a lot of extra credit. The tests are not even that hard as long as you study the study guide she gives you.
She does count attendance but you can get someone to sign you in. Her lectures are very boring but you don't have to pay attention and she post the notes. She only has 3 test and a final but there are so many easy extra credit assignments that can boost your grade. She also lets you have a cheat sheet on one of the test throughout the semester.
don't miss class, attendance policy i had was incredibly harsh. other than that chill af and had a ton of extra credit. amazing prof
Dr. Hall is a solid choice for LGS 200. She is very caring and truly wants her students to be successful. Her lectures are a little dry at times (why I rated her a 4), however can also be very interesting too. In my class, she offered over 30 points of extra credit, and often let us out early. She is also very approachable and fair. Solid choice.
I really enjoyed the material we learned in this class. Dr. Hall is a good choice. She is nice and very approachable. She does seem very flustered when she is lecturing and she takes attendance. She gives A TON of extra credit so even if you bomb a test, don't loose hope, you can redeem yourself.
Dr. Hall doesn't give any homework. There were 5 tests for the class (2 proctored and 3 unproctored). Your grade solely relies on the test scores. If you are not a good test taker, do not take her class.
This class was probably the most boring I've ever taken. Attendance was mandatory but the tests were so easy. She gave a review the day before the test that helped so much. The only thing I ever studied was the study guide she gave us with my review notes. Super easy A
She shouldn't be teaching. We had an online test and she didn't set up the lockdown browser right. This, paired with the fact that she doesn't respond to emails, led to a couple hundred students being left in the dark on an exam. I don't understand how someone that's been teaching this long can't communicate in an effective and/or prompt way.
She is a decent professor don't get me wrong, but is so boring. She doesn't try to make it interesting which is frustrating. Very smart lady that is sweet, but just is not a good professor.
Her lectures made little to no sense. showed my class a ton of videos. never responded to emails (even when they were very clearly important). had half of my grades wrong for the semester (literally put a test i got a 98 on in as a 58). 0/10 would never take her again.
The only reason I ended up with C+ is because she decided within the last month that she was going to count attendance when for 90% of the semester its didnt count
she doesn't care about her students' concerns. Responds to email in a petty, indifferent tone. i will literally never take her again. I went to class for the attendance grade, but i didn't learn a single thing. instead i had to read an annotate every single chapter in order to do well. took hours.
Super easy class. Do the homework and youre good. Dr hall is nice too.
Show up and listen you won't get less than an A-. Her tests questions are directly from her lectures. She's bad with technology but her class is stupid easy if you show up to it. All tests were 40-60 questions with a mix of MC and T/F. Does take attendance religiously though which does factor into your grade.
Monotone lectures, doesn't really cover material besides rushing through it. Tests aren't hard but she's not a good teacher. Can get an A in the class with ease but will hate going to class and she takes attendance for part of your grade.
Her lectures are very monotone and seems to just rush through the information. Although the test are not too hard if you pay even half attention. She does not give exceptions for late homework even if it is a bad weather day so don't procrastinate. Lectures are mandatory and for a grade.
Ruth's a nice lady but not a good professor. She reads off outdated PowerPoints and rarely adds her own feedback. Tests are mostly based off lectures, which can be a struggle to get through at times. She gives study guides for tests, but the only one that helped was the one for the final. Homework is easy. Doesn't respond to emails often.
She is a good professor and has no bad intent yet she is horrible with technology which leads to some benefits though when it came down to test. Makes class mandatory which is dumb cause Lectures are boring since she reads directly off PowerPoints. Test arent too hard pretty easy, just show up and you should pass the class. Make a GroupMe!
Solid professor. It seems as though the recent reviews are centered around her poor use with technology, but I had her in person before the pandemic. She knows her stuff and is a solid professor that is easily approachable outside of class.
Pretty easy class overall will help if you go to class as it is required. My only issue is that she doesn't responds to emails very efficiently. Other than that Overall it isn't a class you'll come to like or dislike as while it is easy the lectures can become very boring.
Overall, her class was pretty easy. The class is very lecture heavy and at times her lectures were very dry and boring. However, as long as you do the homework and show up you will be fine. She also gives extra credit throughout the semester and also 5 extra credit points if you never miss a class. Overall, a solid choice for LGS 200.
Tests are just like the study guides. Lectures can be monotone and boring, but it is an easy class. Lots of extra credit.
The most boring lectures and honestly gets so off track. Her tests weren't too bad but I had to really study the book because my notes didn't help much when it came to actual material grades
The website she uses for homework is so hard to get to work. She does not respond to emails and if she does, it takes forever. The study guides are just general terms with no further explanation so they dont help at all for the test. Her lectures are some of the most boring I have ever sat through.
Bama by Distance. 2 proctored exams worth 25%each, 3 not proctored - 10% each. chapter quizzes 20%. Everything is due at the end of the semester. It took me less than 2 weeks to finish the course. Maybe an extra week would have been an A, but the material is dry and I couldn't take it. Lecture videos could use an update.
Easy class with a lot of extra credit. You get five extra credit points for going to each class. tests are easy.
This course was very difficult. Her lectures are just her talking about cases and reading the slides. As a business student who has no interest in law this class made no sense to me. She makes it difficult to follow what she is saying. The tests are long and cover many chapters.
This class is great. Not having any unexcused absences gets you 5 bonus points on your final grade. Ample opportunities for extra credit. Lectures are definitely boring at times but literally just go to class and you will make an A. Tests are exactly like the study guides.
VERY GOOD TEACHER. Extremely understanding. Review the study guide and the tests are very easy. I would 100% take one of her classes again.
Gives a ton of extra credit. Did not pay attention in class and passed with an A. Lectures are extremely boring, but she is a nice person. Tests are on blackboard and lockdown browser. One of the exams she let us take at home and open note. Nice lady and would take her again.
While professor Hall's lectures are incredibly boring, it is a very manageable class if you memorize the information and listen to her study tips. She also offers a lot of extra credit. The class will be a breeze if you took AP Gov in high school because there is a lot of the similar information between the two curriculums. Would recommend
Dr. Hall is a good professor; you should be fine if you study for the test with the materials given and go to class. She yearns for class participation, and the topics are interesting. The only downside is that she reads from PowerPoint, and sometimes you can nod off, but she is a great professor and gives extra credit assignments.
She's a great person and was always super understanding when I talked to her. The lectures are pretty boring but the course isn't super hard if you just show up to class and study. She also gives a lot of extra credit, so take advantage.
Great professor! Lectures are boring, but as long as you take notes and do the study guide, tests aren't bad at all. Study guide goes over everything on the tests. She also gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit.
Lectures are a snooooze fest but Ruth Ann Hall is a very sweet person. Her class is just boring. She does reviews and study guides for exams. Exams are lock down and with a webcam in class. She offers a lot of extra credit. Just be ready to be majorly bored.
Shes a good teacher but she likes to stand up and read off the powerpoint the whole class, easy class if you can listen though.
Overall bad teacher, never checks her email.
For the average UA student this is your ideal professor. Attendance isn't mandatory but 5 points are added to your final average if you attend every single class. There are plenty of extra-credit oppertunities and the homework is super easy. You don't have to participate in class but know that she is willing to help students who put in the work.
Test were very difficult, long lectures and hard to follow along
Posts all the slides to the lectures but tests are very hard. lots of trick questions. lots of opportunity for extra credit.
Boring lectures, attendance was mandatory but I had a friend sign me in every day. Didn't go to class or put in effort and still got a B+ because the material is all on Quizlet and very simple to grasp. Half of the class would take phones out during exams and look up answers and she never looked around and realized it.
I love her for one reason: her tests match her study guides to a T. You genuinely CANNOT do bad if u fill out the study guide. Plus lots of extra credit. 5 points added to overall grade for perfect attendance.
Bama By Distance. This is a very unorganized class for an online course. It took us two days from the time the course opened up for her to respond to any email that we could not access the course work. "Peregrine Ethics Module" was the extra credit, and was around $40, which was not included in the access granted, so I didn't purchase that.
Consistently late and unprepared for class. Lectures were long and boring. She didn't create any of the lectures, quizzes, or tests, so you would often feel unprepared for any assignments. Terrible at responding to emails. STAY AWAY
----------
You will do fine if you show up to class and are decent with vocabulary.
This is a super easy class. There's homework due before each exam, and other than that there is attendance every day, which is only for a grade if you get perfect attendance. The content is easy, and if you complete the homework and study guide, you'll do good on the test. There are also several extra credit opportunities.
Worst teacher ive ever had. DO NOT RECOMMEND. She doesn't answer emails. She will go through the powerpoint and just say "yeah this is easy" assuming we already know the topic just because she knows it. She is very quiet, impossible to hear and understand. She just talks about real world and not terms and definitions. Tests are hard, DO NOT TAKE.
Do the study guides theyre almost identical to the test, I enjoyed her lectures Ive heard a couple complaints about not responding to emails but ive never emailed her so idk
Long and pretty boring lectures, lots of material in online textbook she "covers" by skimming through powerpoints. Tests are easy with a bit of studying and homework is an easy 100%. Would recommend but not the most entertaining or energetic professor.
While the lectures can be dry, Prof. Hall makes up for it with an organized class structure and generous extra credit opportunities. Unstuck Study AI proved helpful for exam prep alongside the study guides. Overall, an easy A if you stay engaged.
def a hard course but she is not a bad prof. i didn't end up going to class and essentially taught myself and still got an A-. her tests are hard but they are the same as the study guide. go to the class the day before the exam. she goes over all the material needed for the exam and some of the answers
Probably my easiest class, she was a great professor. She is nice and willing to help you in any areas. Plenty of extra credit opportunities. Would often let class out 5-10 minutes early. You will need to study if you want a good grade. If you walk in late she will stare you down so make sure to come on time.
STAY AWAY from this professor! She never responded to emails, making it impossible to get any help. The extra credit didn't improve my grade at all, and the tests were ridiculously hard, way harder than anything covered in class. Overall, a frustrating and disappointing experience. Avoid this class if you can.
A professor that goes above and beyond to take care of you. Truly one of the best professors I have had during my time at UA.
Definitely a lecture heavy class so I would recommend attending. I personally never attended class and ended the class with a high B since her reviews match the tests almost exactly. She offered lots of extra credit opportunities and the class is actually pretty interesting.
Tests are most of your grade which is nice if you're a good test taker. I missed an exam worth 20% and still passed. She kept assignments and quizzes open months past the due date so you have every opportunity to turn them in for full credit. Easy pass.
She never checks emails and only reads off the slides. The tests are impossible so if you do badly on one your grade is ruined. There are way better teachers for LGS200. DO NOT take her.
I would never take this teacher again, this class was the worst thing of my week. I get into a CAR ACCIDENT and she did not excuse me from one day of class, mind you I was in the ER. NEVER responded to emails, reads the screen the whole time. This class was waste of time. STAY AWAY
Honestly she makes this class as easy as possible but lectures are kinda boring and makes it a little too political for my liking. She does give TONNNNNNNNNS of extra credit opportunities
She gives very interesting lectures with lots of real-world examples. SOOO many extra credit opportunities, if you attend all the classes you get a LOT of extra credit. She was always responsive and accommodating to needing makeups.
attendance not mandatory and optional extra credit. she is a good professor, this is just a more difficult class, at least for me. im usually an all a+ student and i ended with an 89 simply because if you dont understand law, tests can be on the more difficult side. a few quizzes but its definitely manageable
Talks quietly and makes the lectures as boring as you can make them. Taught myself the material and showed up for test review days and made an A.
She does lecture ALOT but does provide ample extra credit and makeup exams if you missed with a valid excuse. She also conducts great review sessions that outline clearly what the tests will be on. I would take her again.
quizlet is everything for this class if you don't wanna read. 5 exams. 1 & 4 are proctored. The exams are not really hard at all. You will have to teach yourself everything. She will not respond to emails ever. It's an easy class if you put in minimal effort.
Attendance not mandatory. Teacher is alright and she is kind; class itself is VERY hard. No matter how much you study you will not do well on tests. Lots of extra credit
Dr. Hall, is a very caring professor. She wants you to succeed. My average raised by 10% points because of extra credit and coming to class. Tests are sort of tough, and yes her lectures are boring and long, and she goes through more slides than you can process. But overall she was great and wanted to help. Even ended up rounding up my grade!
SO MUCH EXTRA CREDIT!!! If you have perfect attendance you get +5 on your overall grade, there are a lot of small extra credit opportunities during the semester that add to your test grades. As long as you use the study guides the tests aren't super hard, but the final is insanely hard for no reason. I got 10 points lower on it than my other tests.
Professor Hall explains the materials clearly and creates the tests after what she speaks about in lecture. The tests were straightforward and easy if you pay attention in class. She is also very accommodating and helped me in rescheduling a test I missed due to personal circumstances. Would recommend!
You will have to take notes each class. Very boring hearing her talk easy to zone out. Test in class on a lock down browser. Hard class unless you can cheat. There's cameras in the classroom
I thought Professor Hall was very boring during lectures which led me to zone out a lot because all you heard her do was read over the slides and explain them. She gives a lot of extra credit in the class and that really boosts your grade. A tests are a bit challenging but I feel like studying over the material will get you through it.
Pretty boring lecturer, but not unbearable. Class is relatively boring overall, but tests aren't difficult and she gives ample extra credit. Attendance wasn't required but it definitely helped as many test questions were pulled from in class examples. She's alright, but I believe there are better professors for this class, as easy as it is.
The professor is a nice lady but there genuinely is no point in going to class she is INCREDIBLY boring to listen to and just reads off powerpoints. You could miss all of your lectures and still pass because the material is on the powerpoint. There are however, several opportunities for extra credit!
Very nice lady but tests are difficult. She out online tests that make your grade go up so it helps. But lectures are very boring and she goes through slides to fast so you can't write anything down.
i really liked Dr Hall because she was very straightforward in her lectures and what would be on the test. i am still a little unsure on her attendance policy but she is just so sweet and offers plenty of extra credit. the tests arent hard if you just take notes in class and study
Professor Hall is an amazing instructor for LGS 200, online quizzes that aren't proctored and very easy, but in-person tests that are proctored and application-heavy. She usually lets classes out early, but flies through her slides and gives out study guides for each test. Otherwise, an easy professor who is a baddie with real world experience.
Class is very boring she kind acts like she doesn't want to be at her job sometimes. Very hard to hear if you are sitting in the back. She doesn't know how to use the blackboard grading system. The whole semester in the class showed I had a B but when she did my final grade it became a D and she never explained clearly to me why my grade was that.
Dr. Ruth Ann Hall is not a bad professor. She is nice and has a kind heart. She gives extra credit. The only problem I've had, was that her grading was very misleading. Blackboard would show my grade as an A, but when it came to midterms or even final grades, I received a B. I never knew I had a B in the course, until final grades.
Took her for LGS 200! Wasn't bad but she is very boring! Which makes it hard for you to go to class sometimes. Attendance is not Madory but is counted as extra credit. She does give tons of extra credit work which saved me!! Really sweet women overall though, just very boring.
She's not a bad professor, her grading system is very weird and hard to read. She doesn't really know how to use her blackboard account. Tons of extra credit, but had me thinking I had an A in the class when I had a D. Please keep an eye on your grade for the final.
