Not an easy class.Average grade is a C.No tests no books to read and not much homework.Several 4-6 pg papers to write on the topic of your choice.Presentation required. Not much tolerance for questions or very helpful.I was confused most of the semester. No extra credit offered.Points deducted for absentces. Changes assignments at the last mintue.
The professor "seems" like a sweet lady but acts spaced-out all the assignments were unclear, unclear to the point that I've done extra work that wasn't actually assigned. Professor also gave me incorrect grades in the grade book and an incorrect final grade. Make sure you double check her.
I found her to be very laid back and easy going. If you do the papers you will get an A. She offers many peer editing days, and on those days we were only there for around 20 minutes. She isn't very clear at times but if you email her you can attempt to get an answer.
McIntyre is awesome. She gives you guidelies to all of the papers and sometimes even gives thesis' that you just fill in with your own words. I made an A in this class and didn't even try that hard. She's a must take.
This is a writing class, with a strick format to follow for all assignments.A semester topic of your choice that relates to technology is half the semester of writing.Pay close att.to the guidelines for all papers, use the writing center,be enthusiastic this will help your grade, participate in class, and ask for help during her office hrs.Not easy A.
Dr.McIntyre is a great professor. She doesn't give you busywork and really helps you when you're having a hard time grasping concepts. She's laid back and doesn't get frustrated when you have a hard time explaining your problem. She's a great professor.
Very hard to understand most of the time. Loves obscure and abstract text that are difficult to understand and makes no attempt to clarify them. Should be teaching philosophy instead of lit. Also very feminist and religious. Do not take if you don't want to do the work there is a lot of it and no making it up. Attendance is mandatory.
Love her!! She's an amazing teacher and knows exactly what she's talking about. If you ever need help on a paper, just e-mail her and she will do whatever she can to help you. You only write 3 papers in her class and a few 1 page assignments but that's it. I got an A and thought it was easy. Definitely take her if you can!!
Dr.McIntyre was pretty good. she was willing to make time for us during her office hours, and she was pretty lenient on most grades (except papers, but even then, if you looked at the outlines and examples, you'd be fine.) she was consistantly late to class, and didn't always have a set schedat we did what we needed.
She did come to class late, but most of us did. She did say that if we came in late too many times, we could fail. But since she was late, she was not too hard on us. I don't like to read too much and thats what we did, but the readngs were not so bad. The worst part is that the final is 30% of your grade, but it was open book and good notes.
Not a fan. We missed at least a month of class with how much she cancelled and I don't think she was actually on time once. I would not suggest taking her as an 8am. However, her class is fairly easy. She grades her papers tough and, in my class at least, there seemed to be a bit of favoritism. But, it's still pretty easy. Made an A.
Everyone on here rating, No one cares about the quality of the teacher for a GenEd class. If you want an easy A take her.
She was awesome! I do not like to read, but in order to make good grades on quizzes and test, I actually DID read. She made it very enjoyable. She was late a lot because of her family, but who isn't? Got an A and I would take her again. She was down to earth and I LOVED her!
Dr. McIntyre was quite thorough. You do need to read a lot but as long as you show up to class and actually participate she will like you. All assignments were papers but she is not the hardest grader. She likes to make literature interesting.
I never liked literature nor was I ever good at understanding World Lit. Dr. McIntyre was the best Lit teacher I have ever had.
Dr. McIntyre is a great professor. I really hate reading and was dreading having to take this class, but I got out with an A. Moreover, she actually was able to make me passionate about the course material because of her love of teaching. Highly recommended.
Professor McIntyre's class was rather enjoyable. We went over a lot of decently interesting stories/poems/etc. She kept the lectures engaging enough that you didn't feel like you were dying to leave. She grades pretty leniently, myself having gotten an A and a friend of mine having gotten a perfect 100 (Without an immense amount of effort). 10/10
She makes literature enjoyable by bringing the stories into current context. Has reading journal assignments which help with the exams, which are papers to be written, over a few weeks time. Not difficult, very interactive. She will ask for people to read in class as you go over the week's reading assignments. You will need the book right away.
Dr. McIntyre is a very laid back, easy teacher in my opinion. She very obviously cares about how her students do in her class which is a rarity among college professors these days. Reading outside of class helps prepare your for lectures and if you participate and she knows you then you certainly have a better chance at getting an A. Great teacher.
TAKE HER SHE IS SO NICE AND CARING. EASIEST A EVER
this class is honestly super easy, if you show up and do a majority of the reading you are basically guaranteed an A. theres a decent amount of reading, but its world lit so expect it. i haven't even read all of the material and I'm doing great in there class.
This was one of the best classes I've taken. She is funny, caring, and gives great lectures. There is a class discussion every class, which gives everyone the opportunity to talk about the assigned reading (which helps TREMENDOUSLY when it comes time to write your essays. You're basically given the answers right there). She's a great professor!
took her class as a hybrid and it was honestly the easiest A I have ever made. Very understanding and flexible. Only 1 big paper and two others that were pretty much for completion grades. Highly recommend. The only problem with her is she does not respond to emails so you have to visit her during office hours
Wow. This hybrid class was the easiest A. A few papers in which everyone made A's on. Also a very VERY flexible professor. Just talk to her and she will do whatever she can to help. Doesn't respond to emails. Take her if you can you won't regret it
TAKE HER! She's super knowledgeable about world lit and is almost philosophical. No quizzes; 4 journals that involve decoding one of the stories read in the class; 2 take home essay exams; 1 oral presentation on an author mentioned in the textbook. Lectures the whole class but expects you to engage in conversation. Attendance is mandatory.
She's a great professor as far as professors go. She gives great feed back and tells you exactly what is expected of you ahead of time. Gives weekly homework assignments that are pretty easy and definitely a grade booster. Does not give tests. Grades are based on weekly homework assignments and a final paper and project. Lots of reading assigned.
She makes 1102 so difficult and she assign homework every week and doesn't even give you a whole week to complete it. Her homework is too much and she assigns too many essays. There are far better teachers to take 1102 with. Do not take her under any circumstance.
Her class was really easy. We had weekly assignments that were just busy work since it was a hybrid, you'll probably get 100% on most of them. We only had 3 papers, one of which she calls the "semester project" which isn't hard because all of your online assignments prepare you. She is helpful if you meet with her during office hours. Highly rec.
I took this class as a hybrid, and it was the best decision ever. I couldn't imagine any other way to take a general requirement English class. She grades very leniently and I received A's on all my papers and assignments. Just do what she tells you to and it is a super easy class.
I love her! I took hybrid class. weekly rq/quizzes online. This was the easiest A I received esp for English. She is kind and straightforward. The essays aren't hard at all I got a 95, 100. The quizzes I got a 100 on all w/ one 90 and the reading questions 100's. She drops 2 of each. 1 week extension for essay. and the final was 2 papers I got 100.
Dr. McIntyre is one of, if not the best English professors Ive ever had!!! She makes the class fun and really enjoys teaching and helping students. If you can take her hybrid class, DO IT! 1 big paper and 2 small ones. HW isnt difficult but 1 assignment a week.
As a professor and a person, I really enjoyed Prof. McIntyre, however I didn't feel like I learned much in her class. Easy A. 2 Small essays and a big semester project research paper. 1 Homework assignment each week. DONT ignore these! Do them! They'll keep your grade up. Took the hybrid version of her class and really liked it.
Love Dr. McIntyre. Will take her over and over for all my classes if I could. She really understands that students go through a lot of stress in college and works with you despite conflicting situations. Just make sure to keep her in the loop.
Super easy professor . I took her as a hybrid . There's one homework assignment per week and only 3 papers the entire semester. She is super caring and will do anything to help her students. I would 100% take her if you can .
Awesome professor, would definitely take her again. Just keep on top of everything and you will do well. Very flexible and will help you if you go to her.
My class was a hybrid class so there was a lot of work required to be done outside of class. The class is all lecture, but if you listen to the lectures it does help in writing your papers. There are 3 papers in total and quizzes every week. Some of the readings are interesting. I would recommend her as a teacher. Do the work and you'll be fine.
Dr. McIntyre was the best! This was the first hybrid I ever took but she made it so easy. Everything's a participation grade as long as you do it. Lots of presenting, but again, as long as you say SOMETHING she'll give you the 100. The only scary assignment was an 8-10 paged research paper but she made it so easy and manageable. Highly recommend!!
Dr. McIntrye is a teacher who cares whether her students pass or not. Though the class was a little disorganized and it sometimes got confusing about what exactly we were doing, the class itself isn't too hard. There's only one long paper that she'll work with you on, and most other assignments are for participation.
Dr. McIntyre is the greatest professor I have had at KSU so far, she is incredibly caring, and genuinely wants you to be successful. the class I took with her was a hybrid, so she lectured once a week and gave an online assignment a week for a completion grade, plus one research paper that she will walk you through step by step and work with you on
She's a super sweet lady who clearly loves her job. Lots of papers, lots of reading, lots of group work- all pretty easy, though. Make sure to show up for class.
3 portfolios. An essay(2-3pg) in each. Shows you how to develop writing--but you have to get drafts done for her to review! Easy homework assignments throughout the semester. Show up for class to receive participation grade and assignment clarification (she's a bit unorganized) especially if you are in the hybrid;Easy to contact. Highly recommend.
This class started off rocky, but that may be due to me having been a freshman. She is an amazing professor. If you email ahead and are kind, you will be given extensions. She extends many due dates and will always work with you if you put in effort. Get ready for class discussions and public speaking about your work. Would highly recommend hybrid.
By far my favourite professor at KSU. Just show up to class and put a bit of effort and you will succeed. Can be unorganized at times. If you want an easy A along with a chance to improve your writing skills, TAKE HER. I'm taking her for 1102 because of how good she is. You won't regret it.
Dude, if you want an EASY one day a week class, take her. It's unbelievable how willing she is to work with you on anything as long as you send a reasonable email. She's absolutely a sweetheart and as long as you stay on top of work, it's an easy A.
She is sweet and if you need help she will be there, however the class is very difficult. On the first day when she said her average is a C, a red flag was raised, however, if you just work for it, you will do well. Take her if you're ready to put in the effort and actually learn.
If you can take her! She gives awesome lectures shes really well educated on what she teachers and makes it interesting the way she speaks. Homework is always pretty easy as long as you do it and if you did it wrong she usually gives you a chance to make up and gives great feedback on what you turned it. i hated writing but i love this class!
Great professor and is relatively easy as long as you show up to class and pay attention. She does assign a good amount of homework but often it isn't anything to stress over and can be done in about 30 minutes. She's very understanding and especially through this corona virus she has been extra helpful by extending due dates and such,Def recommend
Take her if you can. I had her for a hybrid and it wasn't difficult at all. Very nice woman, even wrote some recommendation letters for me for scholarships that I was applying for. Do your assignments and you will achieve a high A. Not difficult or rigorous, and is very willing to work with her students. Highly highly recommended.
I genuinely enjoyed Dr. McIntyre's class. You will have to write and participate a lot in this class but it was never overwhelming. She's very knowledgable and will introduce you to plenty of new ideas about the different novels that you'll read. You can find all of the books for this class online for free, so don't feel like you have to purchase.
She was a really great professor. She really wants you to understand the readings. There are quizzes every Sunday over the reading but you can find most of the answers to the quizzes by googling specific parts of the book, however you won't find exact answers so some knowledge of the reading is necessary. Overall a really great teacher!
This is my second time taker her class and there is nothing more to say than TAKE HER! She is amazing and is truly my favorite professor here at KSU, so much so that I will be taking her for a third time. She is knowledgeable and caring. If you have the opportunity to take her, you won't regret doing so!
I really enjoyed Dr. McIntyre's class and would for sure take her again. There are weekly online quizzes and you have to write a few papers along with participate in class but it is an easy A and she made me enjoy the literature we read.
This was my first hybrid and although I will continuing to take hybrids, this was not a great start. The curriculum was so poorly laid out and my whole class were confused every week of what we were actually supposed to be doing. The lectures hardly had any important information in them (could've been cut to 15 mins) and we had to be there forever.
if you have the chance take her!! i have taken her class twice and she is the sweetest person who truly cares about her students and wants everyone to pass, is always available for help, weekly assignments easy as long as you do it, usually one big essay and no final- very understanding and fun class shes incredibly intelligent on what she teaches
I love this teacher! Even if her personality is not your thing, even though she is super nice, she is very helpful and really sets you up for success. Her feedback is very helpful and she made me love english again! If you do as she says, you'll do great.
Professor McIntyre is an amazing professor. Only thing is a NOVEL, analysis paper, a test, and a project due every single Sunday. She is easy to get in contact with and if you do the work you will get a good grade. This class sure did keep me busy though. I actually learned a lot in this class, take her!
I took her online course, and it wasn't bad. We had a quiz and short writing assignment due every Sunday night, and sometimes the readings felt long, but she is a very lenient grader and is willing to discuss your grade if you're unhappy with it. Overall, as long as you turn in the assignments, it would be hard to fail this class.
She was great and well connected with all of her students. Her assignments were easy, and she taught where everyone would understand. English has always been tough and boring to me but I truly enjoyed this class. Dr. McIntyre was always willing to help us out, and she gave very helpful feedback.
I cannot speak enough praise about prof McIntyre... Took her my first semester of my freshman year and she is amazing. Easy to get an A, just do your work and go to class. Taking another one of her classes my sophomore year.
Professor McIntyre is a great teacher; I was in her hybrid class and she was very understanding with covid. The class is fairly reading-heavy, with weekly discussions and quizzes, but they're pretty simple and open-note-- if you attend lectures you'll definitely have enough to go on. Also, there aren't tests, only papers.
Dr. McIntyre is definitely knowledgable and interested in her area of study and wants you to succeed. She gets so excited about the topics and novels we discuss. She also gives great and encouraging feedback on assignments. She is a little scattered at times and there's a LOT of reading, but it's a great and interesting class overall.
Professor is incredibly wonderful, she wants to see you engaged and succeed, and will announce office hours and open emails to make sure you do. The books themselves actually engaged me, and had variety with our class focusing on the myth genre. Check the work every week, this is a class with little surprises.
Had an 8-week summer class. Heavy reading but lectures can easily help on quizzes. The final was a paper to the professor. Very sweet and passionate. 100% recommend
Professor McIntyre is amazing. She is very kind and has structured her class great. The big thing about this class is that you will be writing a 10-page paper. In all honestly, it never feels that you're writing it. She will have a certain part due at this date and another part at another date and it works extremely well. Please take her!
Dr. McIntyre truly cares about her students. You have to do your work and try, but she is always willing to help and give you the best grade she can. She has taught me so much and helped me better my writing skills.
Good professor all around
Dr. McIntyre is an awesome professor. She makes the class so much fun and she's very lenient with work being turned in on time. The coursework isn't extremely hard and if you show up to class, you'll be able to pass. I would advise you to show up as much as possible because participation work matters, but she does give opportunities for ec.
Attendance is mandatory. She is a fair grader and is very well spoken and intellectual. I enjoyed her class and found her essay topics interesting. Lots of writing and reading. If you try you will pass
She is fantastic!! She has the best intentions for her students and trys very hard to be personal with each of them. She LOVES having conversations!! She assigns homework but usually fairly easy and quick!
she makes you feel actually cared about as a student and is open to criticism on her assignments, and reads your essays/letters with very valuable feedback
Dr. McIntyre is very caring towards her students and she makes you want to come to class and enjoy it. I took her hybrid class, and it was extremely easy. She was always able to help, and she gave great feedback on your papers. Highly recommend.
Please take her class, she genuinely cares for her students. Attendance is mandatory but her lectures are entertaining and the class goes by fast. You will read and write a lot, her assignments are not difficult just time consuming. Shes not a harsh grader and flexible with due dates, you will not regret. Im a terrible writer but got an A!
Taken as an 8-week summer course, and was awesome. Fairly easy to manage. Grading criteria was clear and easy to follow and score well on. 100% would recommend. Our course we read a lot about mythology and various religions.
I took her class online over the summer. Very manageable if you keep up with the weekly discussion posts and quizzes that go along with the reading assignment that week.
I took this class as an 8-week over the summer. The class is just weekly quizzes, discussion posts, and two major assignments. Fair amount of reading but overall a really easy class to get an A in. Dr. McIntyre is really caring and understanding and always answers emails to clear up any confusion! TAKE HER! I would take her again if I could :)
She is amazing. All books for the readings can be found online for free. Quizzes in d2l are based off each reading. Discussion posts are very simple. And two major writing assignments that can be done in a day each. She responds back fast and is very considerate. I would recommend her 100x.
Professor McIntyre is one of my favorite professors. Two maybe three assignments each week but they are quick and easy. Responds to emails and invites you to her office hours. She really made this class a breeze and I learned a lot! Multiple chances on quizzes and takes highest grade!
She is OUTSTANDING. She is so caring and genuinely wants her students to pass. She is respectful of the student's time and teaches with passion and enthusiasm. Her writing assignments are relatable and easy to comprehend. She provides great feedback and allows revisions. Definitely take her because the work load is very manageable.
She is AMAZING. She truly cares for her students and wants them to succeed. I learned definitely how to write from her class due to her constructive feedback. She knows how to instruct in a positive manner which motivates you to become a better writer. Excellent teacher that I took for 1101 and 1102. Will look to take any of her classes in future.
Nothing wrong with the professor, just that there's so little time to do these massive loads of homework.
Dr. McIntyre is super sweet and a really good professor. One fairly easy group project and a lottttt of smaller assignments every week most leading up to the one research paper towards the end of the semester. Easy A if you put in effort and turn your work in on time.
Standards for homework and projects were vague, but the class design was interactive, with not too much lecturing. You don't really need to take notes, but it could be overwhelming if you get behind on homework. She customizes her suggestions to the skill level of each student. Passionate professor who clearly loves to teach, I highly recommend.
I took this course over the summer - a lot of things to stay on top of, but the instructions for it all were very clear, it was an easy A, and I highly recommend taking this professor online or in person!
Very, very, very professional professor. She expects a lot and assigns a lot of work, but if you stay on top of it, the work is completely manageable. Her ENGL 1102 courses are undergraduate research courses, so expect a lot essays and writing along with doing lots of research. She is very available to students.
The class itself isn't to bad, so long as you do the work you will be fine. The professor is a different story. Lectures are dry and the information presented is rudimentary and not helpful (also cold calls). Workload is heavy with many filler assignments. Essay feedback is very surface level and can be passive aggressive at times.
This class has a lot of reading but professor McIntyre is amazing! She gives very good feedback and when you do well she will tell you the things she liked about your assignments. The class is not difficult as long as you do the readings.
Lots of essays and expects a lot out of her students however she is very helpful in giving feedback and makes time for her students. she was kind of all over the place and her lectures would go in 10 different directions but she meant well. Overall a good class just be prepared
Reading heavy but easy to get around if you pay attention to the lectures. Weekly quizzes and 250-word discussion posts. Enjoyable course to take if you are not super interested in English but need the credit. Never took me more than 2 hours a week to complete the assignments. Would 100% take her again gives great feedback and truly cares.
gives detailed feedback on each assignment. very easy going she just canceled class a lot last minute which makes it frustrating for commuters.
This professor is very rude. She does not give clear feedback and seemed to target me specifically on my topic choices for assignments. She does not answer emails and is very hard to reach. She cancels class often and its always last minute. She favorites men in the class and is shady towards the women...
attendance is mandatory, she also is a little bit of a harsh grader when it comes to the assignments. she is very picky with how your work is done, you have weekly assignments to do. i literally did an assignment based off of her outline and she gave me an 80 and said it was wrong and not the same. she can be passive-aggressive. lots of writing.
She is very serious about her class and acts as if it is a graduate course. Very picky with her grading and can be passive-aggressive at times. She will send you to the writing center for every little mistake that could be easily explained which makes it harder for commuters. Lots of writing and extra unnecessary assignments.
be ready to go to the writing center over little mistakes you make on the assignments, no exams but have quizzes but no lockdown or camera. there is one group project with randomly selected partners. you have to read things in front of the class and present the project in front of everyone, if you hate speaking in front of people don't recommend.
single handedly the worst english teacher i've ever had. so unorganized but when it comes to her grading, she wants to treat it as a graduate course. tells you to go to the writing center for any minor inconvenience instead of giving you the advice herself. canceled about 5 lectures back to back with no notice from before. very passive aggressive.
Dr. Mcintyre is passionate about her work and knows what she is talking about so that was a sigh of relief. She will treat it like a graduate course and expects you to write many papers but it was overall easy in my opinion. Her grading was confusing at times-telling me something was good then change her mind later. She isn't a tough grader at all!
She was an awesome teacher, easy grader , attendance is mandatory , very understanding
Great teacher if you want an A. You have 2 weeks to do your assignments and it's not that much work. She usually gives out a reading quiz and a few writing assignments to do. She gives a ton of positive feedback on your essays and assignments. She posts videos explaining what to do for the upcoming module to clear up any confusion.
I took the course online so it's not that bad but the one thing that I could say about this professor is that her instructions for the lessons and assignments were lengthy and difficult to understand. But would take her again for English 1102.
The class is not hard. One research group project, plus a presentation, and one individual research paper with no presentation. You will not be below an A. I do not recommend her if you are passionate about writing and want genuine feedback (as an English major... but this is an 1102 class). But if you just want the credit, take her.
Extremely unorganized, doesn't read your papers, regurgitates the same feedback, relies only on ai detection to read your papers. She's passive-aggressive, singles out individuals over their work, acts like you're in graduate course and even gives you assignments FOR ONLY GRADUATES. She barely even reads her emails. Horrible professor.
