So So. Doesn't answer her emails. Nice enough to meet
No Comments
IF YOU HATE HOMEWORK, DON'T TAKE HER. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BEFORE I SIGNED UP FOR HER CLASS. THIS WOMAN IS HEARTLESS WHEN IT COMES TO GRADING. OUT OF 13 STUDENTS, 4 MADE B OR BETTER. SHE GAVE ME A C AND IT HURT MY G.P.A
She knows her stuff. She does give alot of hw, but how else are you supposed to get enough hands on experience to learn?!!! I do agree that she does not answer emails quickly. You have to call her or get her in the office! She is very helpful!
An enthusiastic and nice teacher, but gives a vague final. The final could bring you down a letter grade from what you have through the semester. HW is frequent, but does not really help with final. Wouldn't recommend her if you're a busy person.
she sux dont take her ur better off in another class
She gives u a million chances to turn in your work, but doesn't give you a study guide for your test. You are pretty much on your own to study each chapter. She isn't well organized. Her test are pretty long, and the chapters are twice as long, read!!!!
I took her for CIS 3306 also. Easy professor. Just do the homework. Especially in COBOL. If you take it with Sevaldian you know what I mean. Robbins, is a piece of cake.
Study the online quizzes. Majority of test comes straight from quizzes. Took her online and made a B. I'd recommend her. Lots of HW, but you gotta learn!
Great teacher for face-to-face classes but not for online classes. Very knowledgeable and knows how to teach. DO NOT TAKE HER ON-LINE. ATTEND THE FACE-TO-FACE.
good instructor, take time to help stufent with assignment. Lot of homework but we need the practise. long test if you do well in her homework you will pass her class.
She's a really good teacher--very nice and helpful. The homework was plentiful, but if you did your homework and studied the online exams, you'll pass with an A or B. She's not a hard teacher.
She is okay.. only reads off of the slides.. u have homework but it is easy.. quizes are easy too.. tests are okay. kinda hard.... u need to study to pass but its not soo bad after all... she is veerryyyy eeasssyyy ggoooiiinnnggg.. and veryyyy understanding...
Only take this professor if you want to read the entire book and not have any study guides for the tests. Just read the quizzes and you will do okay. Lots of work!!!
Uses Powerpoint for lectures. Friendly professor. Exams are online, they can be hard. SQL exam very hard, learn it well. Will answer questions in class. Gives lots of extra credit. Do well on quizzes and assignments and you should get at least a B in class. Overall, she is a nice professor and is not too demanding. Read book to do well on tests.
Very fun class. Make sure to do assignments right the first time because it is hard to get her to regrade them. It will take her several days to do so. She is helpful and seems to know her stuff. We covered XHTML, WML, Alice and PHP. PHP was the hardest so ask her if you have problems. Mostly online class except final and mid term on campus.
Very nice professor and very helpful. The class itself is very interesting, but there is a lot of stuff to cover. Many quizzes and homework assignments.
Just got done taking this course and I would have to say this class is pretty pointless (but required). None the less Dr Robbins is a pretty cool chill teacher. But I'm not going to lie, there was so much work that needed to be turned in and stupid quizzes. But the class is an easy "A" if you just get your**** done and turn in you work on time. Go
I was going to wait for my grades tomorrow before posting a grade but it does not matter. CIS 3311 contains XHTML, WML, ALICE & PHP. All are taught separately in the order listed. You will have quizzes, assignments n Finals for each. Overall, its an interesting, important and easy course as long as you complete all assigned work. I took it online.
What can I say! Ruth is the master jedi of database at UHD. No doubt about it, if you have any ambitions of learning database - take her class. She's fair, and works to help you if you do your part. I recommend her 100%!
Lectured from her desk; never got up. Lectures were outlined. Tests were online, you need to review. Lots of homework, but it was easy. No incentive to take this prof again.
Very nice professor. This class consists of learning WORD, PPT, ACCESS, HTML & EXCEL. It's very easy if you have experience in these areas, or even if you're not! There is a lot of work, but it's easy and can be done either at home or in class. She gives 10 (easy) quizzes via WebCT. RECOMMENDED! Should be a blow off class for you.. it was for me!
This was a simple class, she taught directly from the presentations, and it was kind of boring at times, but when we had to get our hands on cases and hw assignments, she was readily available to assist. VERY lenient in her grading, quizzes were annoying, but helpful, especially for her final. You should get no less than a B. Exams were a bit hard.
Over all this class is a waste! A lot of work... but easy work. You basically teach yourself. She is cool but the class is not. She is flexible with assignments. Take her.
This is a easy class... just do all your work and you'll pass no questions asked!!! =)
There is plenty of work to keep you busy, but Dr. Robbins is great. The practical portion of her tests is a crappy program that prevents you from performing tasks any way but their own. The system sucks, but raise your hand and she will give a hint if you are truly on the right track. Often discouraging, but I have used what I learned already!
Easy professor for a easy class. There was a lot of work but it was easy work and the grades were very easy to earn. Her tests are based off the quizzes therefore are really easy. I made an A in this class with no effort.
This is a very easy class and the teacher is excellent. There are two exams and final is comprehensive. All exams are online during class time. Just read take each chapter quiz and this class will be a cake walk.
Caution, Yes, as stated the 1st test & the Final were from the chapter quiz info. However, the 2nd test was not, she miss directed many students & grades suffered. Vista was disorganized & assignments lacked clear direction making students look in up to 3 spots on her site, to complete one assignment. Finished with an A, be on your game 4 summer.
Dr. Robbins is an excellent teacher, she's very nice and helpful. If there's a problem with the system while in class or at home, she is very helpful when you ask her for her help. Her tests are easy as long as you study the quizzes and practice the Myitlab trainings and the other assignments on Myitlab are very easy. TAKE HER!!!
Very Nice teacher & very helpful! Come to class everyday so you know how to build your own website & it's part of your assigment, which can boost up your grade. Work hard on MyITLab so you dont have to study too hard on the test & finish your homework all the time!!! take this class...
There are quite a few assignments and quizzes but they aren't that bad, with the exception of the COBOL section which uses online book that doesn't correspond with the material in the quizzes. Difficult to navigate as you use different resources and visit different sites for assignments. Would take again.
terrible teaching style. the course itself is not hard but it is like pulling teeth being in her class. she gets back to you very promptly if you have a question but she seems to put up with nonsense from students bc it is a req course no matter the major. would not take again. she made me feel like i was in gradeschool when we were addressed.
Professor Robbins is a sweet professor who very much cares to see you through and succeed in her course. There are class participation grades that she has you log in and do for an easy 5 out 5 points per each day of class, quizzes and tests which are also from a bank, 2 presentations (1 individual, 1 group) and then assignments such as a blog to ex
Easy class. Professor is nice. She is one of the very few professor I can recommend. I am not sure if I learned a lot but it was an easy B.
If you are Caucasian, do not waste your time and money! Guess- how many white students in her class? Now- only me. Guess-why? She will ignore you and you never will have a good grade even if you are a straight "A" student. i thinking about to drop this class
I took her distance learning class and it was well laid out. I found the timelines reasonable and the amount of work appropriate.
I took this teacher online. I was a little scared at first since she did not have a good rating at the time but I was glad I did. These is a lot of work but she gives you more than enough time frame to do it. The tests are hard but if you do the quizes you will be ok. She is not good with email but that's not a bid deal to me.
Took this class online Spring of 2012. Extremely easy class there are about 10-12 online quizzes and about 5 "modules" which are a joke two regular exams and a final. an individual presentation which im convinced everyone gets an A, and there is a group project which is the WORST WHY IS THERE A GROUP PROJECT FOR AN ONLINE CLASS
Nice teacher. Horrible teaching methods. Read material and u'll still be guessing on test. The exams question u on every nook and cranny of the book completely overlooking important general concepts. That's what exams from "test pools" do. I did not learn anything other than what SAP is. And CIS is job security? Whatever. Maybe cause its 3302.
Very confusing professor for an online class. seems she did not take time to do a syllabus for my class at least the dates were wrong. I would not reccommend her, alot of busy work.
Took this class online. You have 2 projects- 1 individual (5%) and 1 Group (15%). The rest are Exams, Quizzes, and Assignments. I don't understand how you can do a group project online. It's a presentation where you must orally present it. Very inconvenient and time consuming. If you're taking more than 12 hours, don't take this class.
Very nice teacher, but sucks in being organized. She flooooooddsss you with hmw n projects but they can be easy if you make friends in class right away. This class is easy but very time consuming. Make friends and help each other!!
I took Professor Robbins' online and the course was manageable. There were weekly assignments & quizzes, 2 projects, 3 exams and the final. She allows plenty of time for all work. Also, she is good about responding to emails, and she is available during office hours to meet with students. I recommend her EIS 3302 (formerly CIS 3302)online class.
Took this class online out of my 4 classes this one had the most work to turn in however, the quizzes and projects were fairly easy. The exams didn’t give you much time to take. 13 quizzes, 2 projects, SAP simulations quizzes, and final. I would recommend this professor made a B.
I was not pleased with this professor. Instructions were understandable but obtuse. She was not responsive to emails. Wish I would of read this site before I chose her class.
Granted she is a very nice lady in person; as an online professor she is one of the most unorganized professors I've ever had. Sometimes it would take her 2 weeks to write back to my emails! Never picked up the phone either, I ended up having to show up at her office which defeats the purpose of an online class. Class material was easy overall.
OMG the MOST unorganized professor. Assignment completely mixed together, not in chronological order. Exams in the Assignments tab and not int the Quizzes and Test section. It was ridiculous, ended up withdrawing from the class.
She's really unorganized and you have an assignment due EVERY week along with a quiz for EVERY chapter in the book, except the tech guides. Then WIley Plus is a whole other dumb issue, which you must keep up with and DON'T miss a quiz on WP bc it lowers your grade bad. 1 individual project that is confusing and 1 group project. What a pain :(
Dr. Robbins took 4-5 weeks to grade every assignment, she's unorganized and takes awhile to respond to emails. On Friday, the weekend of our final she forgot to post it. The whole class freaked out, emailing and calling her for three days with no response. On Monday she emailed letting us know it was available but didn't seem to care either way.
She was an ok professor. As others mentioned she is very unorganized. Theres a lot of busy work and expect to read the whole textbook. But it was an easy grade.
Good teacher, very heavy workload. Class can be confusing, but only because of all the computer systems stuff and lingo, not because of the professor. There are a lot of tasks and deadlines to keep up with for each chapter. So if you're going to whine about not having enough time in your busy life, don't take this class! I Recommend her.
Dr. Robbins is a nice lady. The class is O.K. but nothing to get excited about. All assignments and quizzes are EASY!! The TEST are something else entirely! If you take this class with Dr. Robbins, be prepared to READ THE ENTIRETY OF TWO BOOKS, OR YOU WILL FAIL THE EXAMS!
This course has a lot of busy work. The work is not difficult, but her exams are crazy (not sure where she gets her questions, but they do not correlate with her lectures). 1st 2 exams are worth 25% of grade. If you fail them, the best you will make in her class is a C.
Dr. Robbins is available if you require assistance. I did not like the class because it seemed rushed. A lot of busy work that was not applicable to anything. SAP simulations that do not educate you on the application. This is an entry level class. Lecture when provided did not correlate with the exams.
Best professor ever! she's very nice and she is very lenient. Just do her assignments, do the quizzes, and study the quizzes. you will do fine in her class. highly recommended!
THis professor is good but she is not easy because she gives a lot of work to do which is good because you learn the course better with all the work she gives out. To pass her class just do the work and assignments and you will do fine very good professor I would recommend to other students one of the best in the EIS department.
Dr. Robbins does assign a lot of work, but it is beneficial. You will learn sqlplus commands and Linux when you finish Dr. Robbins class! GREAT CLASS and PROFESSOR. Dr. Robbins WANTS you to succeed! If you have issues with an assgn. she will assist. She is not a mind reader, ask for help if you need it. Watch her videos as they will help you.
This is far the worst teacher I have had. She assigns tons of work and takes forever to grade and is very unclear. Extremely unhelpful and takes forever to respond to emails. Maybe better in person, but not good online.
Online, 25% grade is assignments ez too. Gives review for her exams and final but some question from review are not in the exams, read to get more of an overview of the exams. Group presentation, make sure everyone organize and communicate well. Groupme app for better communication
Pay attention and participate. Need access to online content, rarely used textbook. Very sassy to students when asked for help. Expected us to know the work "process". Gives group assignments. Mostly used computers to do in class work. Took for UHD Seminar- Intro to comm. in the age of the Internet. Would take again for the easy A.
She is a great teacher, it is a lot of work but, it really teaches you the course information. She did respond to emails promptly when we had questions but, takes long to grade assignments. Not too specific on feedback from homework. Tests were tricky and tough, quizzes were easy (3 attempts). But, I would take again.
There is definitely a lot of homework, but it is not that hard. Overall most of the class is common sense if you have a tech background. You will learn a few extra new things that can be useful. She curves which helps out a lot, the study guides do suck because they're pretty much a book and most of them are not in the test. I still recommend her.
She's a clear grader. Everything she expects is on her syllabus. Used MyMISLab for homework and quizzes. A TON OF READING. Midterm is hard. Like said before, study guide is there, but even then most of the stuff isn't on the actual test. Gives curves. Group presentation project. Helps to have some computer/technology background.
Tests and final are very difficult. Study and KNOW all of the obscure details and know them exactly! Whatever her test review covers, just skim over that and study all of other small details not on the review.
Take this professor! As long as you turn in your assignments, you will do great.
Took MIS and not EIS (need to update the course) as a hybrid. For every chapter which there is 10, there is a practice module, simulation and then a quiz at the end. Can be time consuming but it is taken into a grade. 2 tests and a final along with a group project. She did take attendance and book is a must. Ms. Robbins had someone else teach btw
lots of easy homework assignments and quizzes, one group project, one paper, 2 exams and one final. Everything is easy except the exams and the final. however if you keep up with all your assignments and do well on them getting a B in class will be super easy.
MIS 3302: Lots of reading. Homework & quizzes were easy. Test is similar to the quizzes. The ITLabs were more concentrated on Macros in Excel. Took fully online for a summer term. She will respond within the same day if you email her. Extra credit on tests. Group project. Research paper. If you want an A, you'll need to be organized. Great class!
Took her for Summer I and with 5 weeks she made it easy. Weekly homework, 2 exams and final. In class assignments so showing up was necessary. Clear and understandable lectures but if you had questions she had no problems answering. Book is also needed for homework. Would recommend and take again.
MIS3306: Took her for Summer 1. Grading was fair. Quiz every week along with HW. Had one midterm and a final. In class assignments were given so attendance was mandatory. Helpful out of class and replied back quick for any questions. I would recommend her to anyone.
My experience: teach yourself. Quizzes, DSMs and simulations are easy. Her feedback on assignments suck though. Made a 97 on a paper and got a good job. So what did I do wrong? Not super good at responding and would just say ask the other professor. You are the LEAD professor. Im asking YOU for a reason.
Tests are tough. You can't use any notes. You have to remember small (unimportant) details, imo. Homeworks were easy. Completion grades basically. All of the quizzes on quizlet.
Doctor Robbins is fun caring. Her class is nicely set up with assignments online, if you have busy schedule it good as you just need to show up for test. Though we had Assistant Professor mainly Mr. Dabney. Doctor Robbins was also nice. 3 test including final, Final was weighted more. Nice fun class gets you interest in MIS.
MIS 3302... HW is easy for MyMISLab & MyITLab (4 chps which can be finished in less then 14 days (free trial) so won't pay for code) 1 essay. 4 exams. Exams are SUPER hard a lot info to learn.
Most likely youre going to be taking lead professor method with her. Quizzes all on quiz let thats a bonus. Hw are easy. But when it comes to test/ exams youre screwed. Her review is too vague so prepare to just study so good luck to you!
I wish I could grade Ruth Robbins, but she was not the professor I got. Instead this class was put into the lead professor program and I got a different professor that I never learned the name of. Ruth Robbins rarely attended class and the professor we got wasn't great. That being said, the class was easy, but I didn't learn anything.
The class isn't too hard, however she's a pretty awful grader when it comes to discussion posts. For example she'll take points off if you post too close to the due date (why bother having a due date at that point). Also, she'll cherry pick the most useless information from the book that won't be on the HW to use which makes studying harder.
Took her this spring semester online. Class is not overly hard, most stuff you can learn quick, but you have to READ. Her video lectures are not very helpful. Learn the vocabulary and stay on top of assignments. Few extra credit from what I remember. Final is comprehensive so study for it. lots of quizzes too.
This was a dual taught class with Richard Mcmahon. The work was not hard but the textbook is terrible. I failed due to a technicality in formatting, even tech support couldn' help. When I reached out to the teachers they were rude and kept telling me to contact tech support (tech support said talk to your teacher).
The quizzes and HW weren't hard, but once the exams started I realized her lectures were useless and the quizzes and homework weren't that helpful either. The most terrible thing was that when I reached out to prof. Robbins she was not helpful and very short. She is not the type of prof who wants to help students succeed.
Homeworks are really not helpful. She expects you to remember every key detail from the book. There are 2 essays that are easy to do. Test are not open note and requires lockdown browser to take the exams. Exams are based on the book so you have to read in order to pass.
Class is okay but get ready to read. Homework does not help with exams however the quizzes are kinda similar to the exams but what sucks quizzes and exams are on webcam lock down browser. 3 exams, 4 easy discussions, 2 easy excel assignments, and one research paper. Want to have an A? Read the textbook!!!!
Ton of Material to read and learn. Exams will take any concept or vocab and ask you a question as a word problem. Lectures are worthless so be expected to read. Focus on terms and how they apply to situations and you will be ahead of the curve. Get ready to write as well since there is a research paper and other smaller papers.
She might as well don't exist. She is not helpful in the slightest. She expects people to remember every key detail from the book. She doesn't respond to emails and didn't make a final review sheet. Two papers and BB discussions. Overall, take someone else if you can.
LOTS of work but in all honesty, you'll need to do them well in order to balance the low grades from the exams (2) & quizzes (5). Make sure you do very well on assignments (They're not hard, just tedious). Quizzes & exams are hard. Know and understand the terms and be able to apply them in scenarios. You'll have to READ for quizzes & exams.
Worst prof i have ever taken in my life. doesnt care about students. Crazy long assignments for a 4 week course. takes me days to finish my assignments. WORST WORST WORST!!!! please do not take and save yourself. Unnecessary requirements that don't make sense whatsoever.
Struggled for an A. Quizzes and tests were super hard. You basically have to know the chapter backwards and forwards. Begged her for a final review, after struggling all semester and she said: study your notes. Only reason I got an A was she took a long paper she made us write and turned it into a bonus, saved me. AVOID like the plague.
I feel as though Prof. Robbins is unfairly characterized as uncaring. I believe this is because she's very frank. I interacted with her solely through email, and she was extremely willing to help me make up a few quizzes I missed. I think it's a case of you don't know if you don't ask. You do need to work for your grade, but she will help.
She was a bad professor she didnt teach and would bluntly respond to emails, she made you seem kinda dumb sometimes. Didnt like her and I expected more since youd be learning essential office functions. The homework was extremely long and only gave you a week to complete. And a lot of the things she did teach werent in the HW
Easy teacher.
Hardest online class i've taken. 4 discussions, 14 quizzes (can be found on quizlet) and 3 exams. All 3 exams and final are proctored with webcam and extremely hard. you have to literally know every chapter front to back to pass the exams.
she was not a good professor. the homework was super easy and the essay was also very easy, you should be able to get it done right there in about 30 min to an hr. that is the bulk of the grades as for the tests they are easy if you study them. everything is pretty easy just go to class cause she takes attendance and you geta grade for it.
You can finish all her classwork in a week or two. Her first lectures are about the HW, then she lectures about the book and stuff that is going to be in the exam. She gives mock exams for review. She is an easy A if you do all her work. There's 1 essay-supper easy. She gives 2 extra credit opportunities. All the HW will help you in your work life.
I'm still in the middle of my online semester with the professor, but I'm in week 6 or 7 and have a 96 in the class. Multiple quizzes through Cengage, but super easy. Tests are lockdown with webcam. She sends reminders and will sometimes extend assignments. She's pretty straight forward, and I work full time 40-50 hours. Easy class
quizzes on cengage, discussions, exams/final via lockdown. responds timely to emails. sometimes extends assignments. overall good course. easy pass if you do the work. test could be a tough, no review but read the book, powerpoints and listen to lecture and you will pass.
The class assignments and stuff were pretty easy but the tests were a bit hard if you study you will get a good grade tho. There were 4 discussions, a few cengage assignments for each chapter, 2 exams on a lockdown browser, 1 paper assignment that was not that difficult, and one final. She replies to emails quickly.
work is easy! - discussion post she wants made by AI/Chatgpt. Easy grade only thing is mid/final are lockdown but either way you'll be fine. Class is kinda boring but you can use it to catch up on other class homework. Always extends due dates and ask for date recommendations
Uses Cenage for 90% of assignments, 2 tests and final uses Lockdown. Pushed due dates which helped a lot. Let us retake tests for better grade, added extra credit as well. Discussions solely rely on ChatGPT but she is particular how she wants it. Read the book, her lecture videos are just her reading the summary PowerPoint from cenage.
Professor Robbins' class has a lot of Cengage work, but she's flexible on deadlines. The tests are proctored, so studying the textbook and PowerPoints is crucial. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for test prep - highly recommend!
