She is really good a teacher, and very help you.

She is usually a couple minutes late, so don't stress out if you are stuck in traffic. She often goes off on tangents in her lectures. Other than that, she is very nice and helpful. Her exams are fairly easy, but you MUST read the material or you will be screwed.

Stewart is a very nice professor, however odd. shes got crazy hair and is late alot, kind of all over the place but its an easy class, very nice and easy to approach

Dr. Stewart is pretty cool. She is a bit odd and has crazy hair but it goes well with her character. She's very helpful and thorough if you need help... She goes on on tangents but if you email about something she'll do all she can to clarify. She's a fair grader as well. I would recommend.

She is very crazy, but an overall good teacher!! She's pretty easy, however her quizes can be a bit long. She can be confusing with her instrictions and such..she can be very boring..she rambles on about nothing..she will normally always be like 5-10 mins late. I'd take her again!!!

Dr. Stewart was constantly late...but at worst 15 minutes. She does ramble, but it grows on you! she was very helpful when I had a problem, and is very suggestive on how to improve your writing! I would suggest her to any literature fanatic!

i was late more often than she was, she seems kinda unorganized at times but you can tell, even though she rambles some, that she really loves what she's talking about and she wants her students to understand that. she is very helpful with writing, don't let the long lectures and crazy hair scare you, she's great

Really knowledgeable. Has a hard time communicating and expressing herself. Was not sure where she was heading during lectures. Sometimes as she tends to ramble. Do not let the wild hair fool you. She is smart and I would take her again.

Dr. Stewart is very good teacher overall. A tad scatterbrained at times, but she clearly knows and loves her subject. Always gives very helpful feedback and (unless you put in NO effort) is extremely willing to go the extra mile to help you out.

She rambles a lot and it is very hard to follow what she is talking about. As long as you do the work and read what is assigned, you'll do fine. I don't think she is good for people who need a lot of direction, but better for people who can work on thier own.

She's really helpful and friendly. True she is all over the place but I wouldn's say she's crazy more like eccentric. I could understand everything she was saying. (of course I'm some what scattered brained myself) She grade fairly and she's easy going.

Nice enough. Very easily distracted, and usually five-fifteen minutes late. Be aware she REQUIRES the books AND a supplemental packet. Whatever you do, DON'T ask her for an example of the Illustration Essay. She spent 45 minutes going off on a tangent about an orange crate her parents hauled everywhere. She is very willing to help you out, though.

Scattered, intelligent, eccentric, love the paddock boots + skirt. Try to talk to her one on one after class if have question that needs clarification. It will be better for you and the rest of the class.

If you are very organized, this class will drive you crazy, otherwise, it's great! Paper topics are pretty simple, if you have a question about a topic, ask her after class 4 clarity. She's pretty helpfull when you need it. At first, I thought she graded harsh, but I talked with her about it & I understood what 2 do next. After that I had all A's.

Just read the assignments and come to class ready to talk about the readings. If you participate you will get on her good side. Love the discussions in class, not a big english fan but she makes it interesting. 2 exams, mini quizes and One midterm paper. This was my 2nd time having her as a professor HighlyRecommended!Usually few min late to class

She gets distracted and babbles a bit during lectures, but she's always willing to provide any extra help & her assignments are pretty easy. She's a very fair grader & she's really nice. She usually is 5-10 minutes late to class. Allows 4 absences & after that is an automatic C

A wonderful instructor who takes a difficult subject and makes it interesting.

she was a very interesting professor. she always showed up 5-10 mins late to EVERY class. you can only miss 4 classes if u miss more ur highest grade will be a C. u have 4 papers, there not that hard. you watch 2 movies and have a quiz on both. i wud recommend her.

She's a really nice teacher. She cares about the students and does her best to answer questions and provide help. She does ramble on a bit but it's all because she's trying to explain things. Like I said easy class and a really nice caring teacher.

Yes, she rambles quite a bit when speaking, but keep in mind this is not a speech class: it's a writing class. Dr. Stewart knows her writing yet she does not pretend to know EVERYTHING and will admit to her errors. She was usually late, always entertaining, and always helpful--both in and out of class.

She is a good teacher. She does get off topic and comes late to class, but she keeps things interesting.

I dont think you can get an A in this class but a very easy B. around 5 papers. Just do the work and try on everything and you will get a B. She makes no sense when speaking and is all over the place,but willing to help and very nice. Always 10 min late and awesome haircut. Take her if a B is good enough

I took the honors 111 course and it was a lot of work but when i needed help, she always did her best to answer my questions and guide me in the right direction. she is very intelligent although she does have trouble clearly expressing her thoughts. i really liked her and i would definately recommend her.

Easy easy teacher!! TAKE HER!! Only assignments are just 4 papers. Easy grader. Easy topics. DEFINITELY on some kind of drugs, but wonderful teacher. SO helpful. Talks to her self alot, 20 minutes late to class EVERY day, rambles about nothing, wild crazy hair, but wonderful! PLEASE take her. You'll get an A! And if youre lazy, shes perfect for you

Dr. Stewart is very scatter brained but VERY intelligent & helpful. She strives to see each student do well & takes a genuine interest in everyone. Overall an excellent teacher.

despite her bad rep, i love dr. stewart. she is SUCH a sweetheart and always tries to help her students. just ask! her class is incredibly easy if you just come to class!!! if you're not an essay writer, you might need help though. love love love this teacher, she's the only one to take! i've take 4 classes with her and i wish i could take more!

Great teacher. Too bad the class acted like a bunch of zombies during the lectures. She's willing to clarify or explain anything anything uncertain. As long as you take the initiative, you will get an A.

Hands down, best professor I've ever had. Highly recommend. Always curves quizzes & barely assigns any homework, she is seriously the best.

Class was something else what i expected. The grading is hard but she is very helpful specially if you ask for help. Not HW only 2 papers and a optional final paper.

Highly recommend. While a little unorthodox she never fails to write remarkably constructive and meaningful remarks all over your papers. Read them. They'll strengthen your writing like that scene from the Disney Hercules movie where Hercules trains with Phil.

Dr. Stewart gives really good lectures and is very helpful and receptive. She really cared about my papers. I felt that I could talk to her easily about the class and what I needed to fix on my papers. She was also funny and made class interesting for me.

She made me a better writer.

Good teacher and teaches a lot of useful things to utilize in the future. Teaches things that you will use in your future job and such. Also, it is a fun class with open discussions and hilarious moments.

Proffessor Stewart was a good professor. Super responsive, very clear, and eager to help. The problem that I had is that her lectures are long. L-O-N-G. And not always compelling. She's very strict on no electronics, but while you're sitting there bored in her lecture you could be working on a paper. Easy A would take her again, very sweet lady.

Dr. Stewart is a great teacher! As long as you're willing to try she will do anything to help you. Very sweet teacher, class wasn't terribly hard but wasn't easy. The writing assignments she gives you make you think in ways you wouldn't expect.

Pretty cool lady with wacky hair. Class primarily consists of assigned readings from the book(s), and short multiple choice quizzes on said readings. She offers helpful study guides and the occasional extra credit to compensate for tricky questions. You are expected to show up and participate in class discussions.

I took Dr Stewart last semester for English 241 and she was nothing short of amazing. She was there for me and worked with me despite my health issues. She gave me extensions when necessary and with her help I earned an A in the class. She doesn't assign too many papers which is nice. There are weekly quizzes but they are not difficult.

She's a little bit quiet but shes a really good and understanding professor. she shows movies pretty frequently and her essay assignments are pretty easy. the class was pretty good

She was my favorite professor at NOVA! She knows her stuff and really cares about students. Her class is really fun.

Sweetest teacher at NOVA. Like others have said, she was eager to help and extremely engaging in class. I looked forward to showing up to class rather than dreading it. She went over the reading thoroughly and made sure you could connect with the content. Take her class! You won't regret it.

Amazing professor! She always gave me great feedback that helped my writing improve and she was very considerate. She was always late and responded late to emails.

Coursework was very easy, a few quizzes here and there that are effortless as long as you read the accompanying chapter in the textbook (which are rarely more than a dozen pages, if that). The essays assigned were actually a lot of fun to write and she also gave us feedback before the due date to make sure we were on the right track.

She great. Her class is super easy and there is not much you have to do. Just a few quizzes and some essays. E.Z. BOI

She is a very smart person about Literature, she is willing to work with you on your grade however if you don't like reading or writing do not take her class because reading is mandatory for your grade

Other than running late for classes, Prof. Stewart is amazing. She tries to keep the class as engaged as possible. Be prepared to have quizzes frequently, but if you read the readings you should be good to go.

Professor Steward is kind and passionate about English, but she's a bit disorganized and always late to class. She also tends to fall behind on grading and posting discussion assignments. However, if you do the reading assigned, you'll be fine!

Professor stewart was really kind and worked with me with some personal issues I had that got in the way of class. She seems a little disorganized, though, and was late to each class so just be aware of that. she's passionate though!
