Tests were more difficult than actual material covered in class. Has little knowledge on material... he copies problems form the textbook onto the board and if you ask him a question about the problem, he won't be able to explain.
funny guy, fair exams and finally 'questions, comments, queries, concerns'
Bring aderol.
Not clear, and did not seem to be able to present the material to the class.
Great professor. Nice and helpful when help needed. good applications to real world. take him you'll never regret.
Boreiiiiiing! Nice guy but class time is unbareable and not helpful at all. The worst part is he takes attendance. better read the book cuz that's the only way to learn.
This guy makes you love economics which is usually considered a boring subject. Elegantly explain clearly difficult topics. exam is difficult but i have seen worse.
fair and hard working teacher. honnestly, only failing and lazy students wouldn't rate this teacher high. exam can be difficult but i've seen worse. highly recommended teacher - he'll make you love economics.
very knowlegeable, honnest and fair teacher. i loved statistics and finance applications because of him. but crazy about attendance taking!!!!
great teacher. you learn a lot and h's genuinly helpful.
no clue what he is doin...lost...cant make complete sentencess for exam questions...danger
A serious and excellent economics/finance teacher. has natural teaching skills. highly recommended if wonna feel good aobut learning.
most professional and intelligent teacher, but very humble. incredibly knowlegeable, enthusiastic and fair professor. he makes complicated economics stuffs simple and interesting.
Maybe it's because he's not a stats professor, but he made for a terrible semester. He's an extremely nice guy, but had a very difficult time presenting the material to the class. And forget about him answering your questions, he just can't.
great owsome teacher. i was efraid of stat, now love it because of prof sebuharra.
I understood stat better because of prof sebuharara .. he's down to earth, explain with simple example.
If you want good grade for decent amount of effort, take his classes! one of easiest econ course i've taken in bing.
Quite possibly the dumbest, least qualified teacher in the Northeast. He teaches a new subject every semester because he isn't good at any of them, and this way no more than one class can complain they had him as a "teacher" (I use the term loo
Simply omong the best on this campus! respectful, caring, and intelligent professr. only dum failing students like the one who wrote the previous comment don't like this teacher. I had two courses with him
nice guy, terrible teacher. has no idea what economics is but is an expert on immigration. he gives exams with the most irrelevant question so be wary.
Extremely hard about attendance, if you miss a class he will take his anger out about it in your grade, class notes do not help anything in class. Tests are hard but presentation and paper are a joke. I would not recommend this class but the Econ department is HORRIBLE so you prob dont have a choice
Knows his economics. Cute, owsome and dedicated professor! Always eager to help students. Take him at all cost.
you'll love this guy. very approachable and helpful. links econ, finance and statistics, so the course is very interesting.
One of the best and most fair professors on this campus. His handouts are very useful. exams can be a bit difficult, but he gives practice tests that help alot.
i am an MBA student and i had no clue about economics. mr. Sebuharara made me love economics especially applicatins to management decisions. excellent professor. highly recommended.
The professor is a nice guy and intelligent too but he doesnt know how to put across his knowledge to the class. And if you are on the wrong side of his book,h'll take it out on your grades.
Nice guy who will go a distance to make sure you don't do bad in his class. Very easy to get an B or C, but I'd say hard to get A. His tests are really hard. They ask very irrelevant questions. The classes are boring as hell, I'm not sure if its worth going or not.
Outstanding and serious professor - period!
Professor Sebuharara = Excellence in teaching and knowledge. Covers a lot of materials. Knows finance and banking business well.
He loves the subject dearly, and is extremely knowledgable. However, he doesn't manage to tie the material from one subject matter to another in a seamless way. Also, he's very prone to peer pressure, so keep pushing it and eventually he'll cave in! "You guys are my bosses"
Very difficult accent, very confusing overall.
Sebuharara is simply the best professor I have had at Binginghamton University. He made financial markets and institutions very interesting and he knows what he talks about. Take him and you'll love him.
i agree. Professor Sebuharara is the best. he has a natural gift of teaching economics and finance. the financial journal was a great learning experience. SOM should look for more teachers like professor sebuharara. he is also fair in his grading.
The most pathetic professor in SOM. I had the misfortune of being taught by him coz there was NO ONE ELSE to teach Economics in the whole school...
Worst professor I have EVER had for any class. First exam was so bad he made the final take home. He announced the date. Then 2 days before he was to hand it out, he passed out teacher evaluations, then cmae in and changed the date of the exam (screwing people over that changed their schedules). Then assigned a project due on the same day. Horrible
This is the worst professor I've ever met in my life. He is unorganized, his curriculum is unbalanced, he is unclear. He uses different methods than the textbook.
Only lazy and failing students hate this professor. the Prof. sebuharar explains the materials slowly and do alot of examples in class. he also puts great notes on the blacboard, but h'snt a slave of text. He's intelligent. i really dont' agree with the last 3 students. I think they are dishonest.
Was so bad the SOM board made him change the assignment he tried to screw us with at the last minute. WORST PROF EVER
The teacher goes slowly and does examples but his notes are very basic. It's not very easy to understand his methods simply by reading blackboard. He uses different methods from the textbook, making it a waste to read. He depends a lot on calculus although it is not a prereq. I read and go to class and am still lost. He confuses me more.
First, what reason do they have to be dishonest? Let's just say that if you actually have some sort of life and other classes to worry about and even if you read the textbook, you will come to this class listen to this man speak and become confused, depressed and overwhelmed.
Shame on you my classmates who wrote nasty things about prof. sebuharara. they shouldn't be in MBA program to begin with. they have prejudice because the prof is black. prof sebuhar uses very basic (high school level)one of the most difficult courses in SOM. prof is very knowlegeable, intelligent, grea fair teacher. stop complaining nonesense.
one of the most respected professor in som.
The most pathetic professor i have ever taken. I had the misfortune of being taught by him. Do not take his class, he's accent is annoying and he talk non stop. never letting us go early. not even 5 mins.
Adorable teacher!
Excellent and fair professor. he rewards you when you try hard. hard on attendance.
No non-sense but fair professor. Gives As if you try harder.
The most terrible teacher exists in the world!!! I am so sorry to write this way. I try to be fair and polie! you learn nothing from him and he just wants to give you as less as possible when it comes to grade!!! Im awfully sorry to take this course! I got A but I learnt nothing! he is TERRIBLE
I'm tied with my dishonnest classmates like the previous one. Professor sebuharara's course is hard, but he helped a lot and u learn a lot. he was generous with his grades although i received only a B. he gives alot of work but he makes economics interesting
read the textbook, practice hw questions, go to class only for attendance. says what will be on test. got an A-
nice teacher and human being. highly recommended
His tests are hard but he practically goes through the book (and thereby his tests) in class. The questions are based directly from lecture and any assignments he gives you. He had a project that was interesting and helpful to your grade as well.
Please do not listen to anybody's comments about this hurrendous teacher. First of all, he is impossible to understand. His tests are extremely hard, and he is the most boring teacher I had ever had. His attendance rules are bogus, so if you really have to fit him into your schedule be prepared for a lame semester, hard tests, and dont miss class
if you're reading this ...stay away. extremely hard grader, difficult tests, be prepared to receive a C barely.
Excellent professor
Oh Gosh RUN!!!!worst prof so far and it aint kuul....tests are hard and he cant even tell you what ure grade is lookin like...u gotta wait and be taken aback when u see ure final grade on busi.
Sebuharara was a great professor for Statistics. You had three, open book tests that if you have any intelligence, along with the 120% curve, you could do decently. The paper at the end isn't bad and he's definitely willing to help in office hours. His whole ability to teach is ruined by being boring and sometimes unclear. Stat is hard, be wary
great professor. the material is just hard, but he's willing to help.
ARGGGHHH! Just terrible...and he says "ok" when its not! Got a B but damn...it was jarring as hell!
take professor sebuharara and you'l like economics/finance. he teaches theories and real stuff. very flexible too alhough exams are tough
Sebuharara was a great professor for Statistics. very easy A class!!!!
nice guy, patient and knowlegeable professor. prof sebuharara really loves his subject
Tough but intelligent and helpful professor. Exams are straightforward if go to his classes
This guy is absolutely, hands down, the worst excuse for a teacher i have ever witnessed. I failed my first test in all of my school history in this class even though I hada 3.8 since freshman year. Not anymore. DO NOT GET THIS GUY AS A TEACHER. He wont give extra credit cause hes fat and lazy and doesnt want to correct it, and wont post grades.
Awsome man and great teacher. Pay attention to his hints in class for the exam. he means what he says. one of the best professors in SOM.
A doll! ... he changed my mind and made me love finance. very respectfull of his students, fair, patient, and sometimes funny. one of the best at BU
You learn a lot and get fair grade. Sebuharara loves finance and relates it nicely to economics. Smart, respectful of his students and fair exams. ONe of the best at BU. take him
great professor
I Love this teacher. He cares about his students. Very patient in explaining materials. I wish I had him in all my finance courses.
The second worst professor I've ever had at this University. He's unreasonable and useless. He berates students for not coming to class whenever they ask him a question, even if they attend regularly. He doesn't teach. Avoid at all costs if possible.
Horrible professor. Doesn't explain things clearly, is extremely unorganized, gives unfair tests, and does not care what students have to say. Avoid him!
A++ professor. He clearly explains difficut materials in and out of class. My grade went from a D to a B+ honestly because of him.
Definitely one of the best professors at BU.
Never had to post on this site before, but in this case I feel like its my duty. People giving this guy a good rating are nuts. This man is not a good teacher. Starts Class Late, entire class time consists of watching him copy off a piece of paper, makes you learn the rest on your own, difficult tests, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COSTS! OK?
If this fool is still teaching Investments, avoid like the plague. I have never received a grade below b and got a C- in a class I already have experience in. His English is horrible, his tests overly difficult, and will not help outside of class. He would rush through problems at the end of class and then email u later saying he did it wrong!
Very very nice guy, doesn't take himself too seriously. Material in class is very difficult to understand at times, but the tests are not too difficult. You have to read the book yourself if you want to understand buisness stat. He curved everyone for my class (83 to 95 about..)on every test. Slight grading disparity for final grade it seemed.
Highly recommended professor. Explains very well the materials. Take him if you want to learn and get decent grade if you put in some effort. I had him in Fin311 and Cqs112. He's extremely good. His tests are difficult - beware!
Intelligent, organized, nice and humble guy. One of few BU professors who make really sense of what they are teaching. Made investments class interesting although very challenging. He respect his students and makes you feel worth something. But, crazy about attendance. Your grade gets affected if you missed classes.
Not very clear when it comes to wording his exams. Apparently the phrase, "circle the right answer" means there can be more than one answer. Shouldn't the question read "circle the right answer(s)" if the question had two answers?
Extremely easy, but do not confuse this with his ability as a teacher. Tests, including the final, were extremely easy and all were almost all multiple choice and you are allowed a cheat sheet. Easy subject to grasp if you are interested in it.
Extremely smart professor although he's candide about his knowledge. He absolutely knows his stuffs. Very nice and genuinely helpful guy when you approach him.
Spends too much time on a few concepts and speeds through the rest. Tests are tough, and much of the content is not covered in class.
absolutely the worst prof I have ever had! He makes concepts much harder than they are He rushes thru important concepts becuz hes too lazy to go over them He has actually admitted to not knowing how to do some of the problems N if u dont understand something hell tell u to come to his office hours or hell tell u its in the notes STAY AWAY!
It seems true that good reviews written of this professor are written by himself. He often portrays himself as a helpful, but completely contradicts himself when there is any incomprehension of his material. His powerpoints are somewhat helpful, but hard to follow in class. Much of learning will have to be done outside of classes. Honest but rude.
This Professor is plain and simple the worst in Binghamton University. His tenure is a discrace to the institution. I Love how ALL the good comments on this site are written by Prof. Sebuharara HIMSELF. everyone please Look at the broken english used. What a discrace.
Will look into filing further action with SOM into an investigation of his questionable actions. He never taught any LABs; however, the school thinks that the students are in a Lab discussion. This is unacceptable as key concepts are not stressed. The hands-on aspect that is "supposed to be there" is not.
He told his students that Chap 15 was not as important( at least he made it seem like that). Over the hundreds of students he has, all of them will agree that they believed chapter 15 was not going to be a big portion of the exam. Well, it was almost over 80% of the test. The entire big problems were on something he spoke about literally 3-5 mins.
One of the best professors at BU.
This guy is as incompetent as they get! Practically attacks the class when they ask questions about the problems on exams, does not even understand the material himself so it is very difficult to follow what he tries to explain. Overall, horrible excuse for a teacher. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY!!!
Very patient, competent and fair professor. He responded very professionally to some pretentious students who wanted to show off but only to expose their ignorance. Take professor Sebuharara's class and you'll be amazed how much you learn.
He's pretty nice. Do the homeworks and read textbook and should do optional project then definitely get A :) Don't worry. Just follow him
WILL SOMEONE AT THIS WEBSITE PLEASE STOP THE PROFESSOR FROM WRITING ALL OF THE GOOD COMMENTS. THIS IS NOT FAIR TO US STUDENTS
His tests are easy. His lecture is pretty good, however,it seems like he doesn't quite answer the question you try to ask him in class.this is the only problem to me.other than that, pretty good.
The people making terrible comments about Prof Sebuharara are insane!! He is the BEST teacher at BU. If you are incompetent and don't work hard you don't do well. The one's writing the bad comments are probably those that did not attend class and failed the exams. Grow up and recognize you are in college to learn
WORST Teacher at Binghamton, lies to students, disses them in class. DO NOT TAKE, Trust me I got an A, but that was way to hard of a process. I like the subject too!!
Worst teacher I've had in Binghamton so far. Cannot speak English, and he is just an overall horrible teacher. Makes some of the tests open book which is cool, but then in turn makes the tests that much more impossible. NEVER take a class with this teacher or prepare for your GPA to suffer miserably.
Very good teacher
This professor is gone from Binghamton for a reason. The other comments left to support him are being left by the professor himself. His grammatical errors in the comments are exactly how he talks. haha what a joke! This man should not have a teaching job. He just plain cant teach.
Doesn't teach anything and gives you the test questions before the test so everyone doesn't fail. Will try to help if you ask him but will often get his own questions wrong and not understand your question. He tries to play this off as him struggling with English but the reality is I've eaten more intelligent vegetables
Worst professor ever. Can't teach, doesn't even know his own materials, and never admits it when he makes a mistake (quite often). Has a corporate valuation group project in class, in which he expects you to do a DCF valuation without teaching you anything about it. CHOOSE GOOD TEAMMATES! Tip for project: read Investment Banking by Joshua Rosebaum
Worst professor I have ever had. Spotty english, cant really make out sentences. Gives pop-quizzes weekly. He is also very unreceptive when you want to talk to him during office hours. Overall a very poor professor for a class that could be so informative.
Good guy, not the best teacher. Still, if you have a shred of competency and the intelligence I would expect from you having gotten into binghamton, this class is a joke and most of the answers to questions are online. Also gave the questions to over half of the final. Easy A if you just take 30 minutes a day to do the work.
