I love this man. The concepts of this class are not difficult and there are so many opportunities to practice your skills: practice exams (that he gives you), homework, practice questions during class, etc. He is very chill and good-humored! It's a shame I didn't experience his lectures in-person to bask in the powerful aura of king Bethel.

The homework for Bethel on ALEKS is insane (took me like 2-3 hours a DAY) . DO NOT take this class unless you already have a good chemistry base. Also NO CURVES ON ANY EXAMS (very unfair considering most profs do)

Dr. B was amazing. I came into college with 10th grade chemistry knowledge and Dr. B taught me everything. He is very math based. He posts pre-lecture videos and goes over examples in class. There are participation questions both inside and outside of class and ALEKS due every few days. I failed the first exam and still ended with an A.

Dr. Bethel is a good professor. There are plenty of opportunities to do well in his class through the way he grades. I like that he provides a lot of resources to review his material like pre-lecture videos and lecture recordings. I am sure anyone can do well in his class if they put in an adequate amount of effort. I regret not studying more.

Dr. Bethel was not a bad professor, but was not one of my absolute favorites. He has self-depricating humor, but for someone who is terrible at chemistry, this class will be painful. He goes fast, and it's a flipped classroom, 3 days a week, you have to watch videos ranging from 8-50 minutes before each class. DON'T slack on the homework.

Although chem wasn't an easy course at all, the participation & iclicker really helped me prepare for tests; no surprise test questions.
