I really enjoyed having him. He's a reasonable guy with your grades and is very helpful. He's very clear about every topic. Highly recommended!
He Is an amazing instructor! He explains everything so everyone in the whole class understands it! If you do your homework and study you will do well in his class! Highly recommend taking him!!!!!!!
Awesome Professor!
Awesome and wonderful, if you want to enjoy your math class and make A take him.
Pretty decent teacher. Fun guy that helps you out. Can be confusing at times, but if you do the homework, you should do well on the test. Bases test off homework. Uses my math lab
Pretty good at explaining things and knows the material.
Great teacher! Makes math really fun, he's pretty lame but lame enough to be funny. If you're lucky he gives out reviews but he also does youtube videos that help alot. Truly recommend him!
great professor, but gets off topic frequently. As long as you do the homework assigned on time and watch his reviews for exams, its an easy A. highly recommend taking.
Great Instructor. Would highly recommend. Kept things interesting and fun. Always available for help whenever I would ask. Did online videos, which made studying easier.
Took him for 0310 last semester and am glad I did. I was better prepared than other students in class and never felt lost. If you are serious about doing well in future classes, take him. If you dont want to work or are looking for an easy A, look elsewhere. he expects you to work.
Good math teacher, and he cares about helping his students. If you don't understand don't be afraid to ask for help. He gave reviews for the tests which were AWESOME. He could have assigned more homework. But if you do the odd problems in Text book in addition to online HW. That is plenty. He gives a lot of advice, and will help you if you ask!
Professor Braatz takes his time explaining things very clearly and stops to answer questions during lecture. He created videos for us on youtube and his reviews were exactly like his tests. Did all my test reviews and had no problem. He also is really understanding if you have an emergency and miss class. Nice guy and cares. Take him.
Easy to understand and helpful. Enjoyed the class
Great professor!!! if you do not get an A it is just because you do not do what is asked of you. I would take him again if i could.
He's cool. However, he goes through the chapters very quick. It is not as easy as people think. If you work hard, you will get the letter grade that you want.
Second time taking the course and wish I would have had him the first time. He made things so clear. I now get what is going on. Exams are just like the homework. Do the work and pay attention and you will do well. I recommend.
Clear and will help you if you ask. Fair about grades and was flexible with homework due dates.
Tough course to take over a mini. So much material to remember. Instructor was easy to follow and his test were exactly as he promised (problems from the book). Lecture was organized and followed the text. He does a good job of simplifying the text material. I'm not good at math but worked hard and passed.
He is cool but goes by lectures kind of fast. If you cant keep up with it, then you should not take him.
Great professor! Made class fun and interesting. The material is hard just like any other, but if you do your homework, review for tests, and work hard you can pass with a good grade. Overall I wish I could take this class again. I learned a lot!
Not bad if you do the homework. No surprises on exams, he gets his questions from your homework. He makes you show all your work (so you really have to know what you are doing). If you want to just slid through, I'd look somewhere else cause you wont pass. He used a free book for our class which was cool.
Great instructor. Made the course really interesting. I really liked that he told us a lot about who came up with the formulas and why.
Good.
Confusing tells you 2-3ways to complete the work and take off for everything even if your answer is correct you gotta be really focused to deal with him.
Excellent professor. Had him for pre-calculus during the summer and thoroughly enjoyed him. Fun to watch, too (hehe).
AMAZING prof. Made me like math. NO FREE PASSES. Took during summer (very fast paced) & had to slave for my grade, but he was one of the best teachers I've ever had. Really wants you to not only understand what you're doing, but WHY things work the way they do. Stays for one-on-onestudy group time. Would take again. Excellence. & also hilarious :)
Lonestar North Harris, COMPETELY different from Judy Taylor (She's great btw) But the fundamentals are expected to have been learned prior. So no need for excessive vocab like in 0308. Excellent professor, gave clear examples on how to complete problems. Gives points for correct steps even if answer wrong. Homework required to pass. Do it all!
Clear and concise. You can tell he likes what he does, and that makes class interesting. Cute, so there is that. His exams are EXACTLY like the homework. His final is based of previous exams. Doing well on final can bump up your previous exam scores, which is nice if you do bad on one. In his office all the time for help.
Took the online calculus course. He does a lot of instructional videos. He responded to my homework questions in video as well. He offers an optional time to come on to campus and meet.
Knows his history of Math Soft spoken
Best math teacher I've ever had. He is always there for the students if they need help.
Excellent professor, very smart. I believe he has 3 masters degrees. Tries to incorporate the lesson and apply towards everyday life. Assigns homework but doesn't grade it. However, the test questions which count 100 % of your grade are straight from the homework so no surprises, he just wants to know you know what you are doing. Would take again.
I agree with other posts. He works hard to help you understand the material. He doesn't get mad if you have stupid questions, I had a bunch! He just walks everyone through it. He talked about different types of courses offered and which might fit us best...(Online vs Flipped vs Traditional, etc. ). I didn't even know there were options :-)
Well, I hated math the first time I took him and now I really like it. He takes the time to explain things to you until you get it. Also, he is very understanding. If you talk to him you will find he is very intelligent and knows the material very well. On top of that he is pretty good looking and funny. Totally recommend!
The teacher is nice but does not believe in helping students. He has a mandatory test review that if you do not make a 80 or higher you cannot take his test. His teaching style is that of math theory. He teaches his class as if we are all math majors and that we need to know the theory of math and apply it ourselves. I would not recommend takin him
Pre-Calc Summer 2014... He is a very tough grader, yes. I actually failed my first test, but ended up with an A :) What I love about this professor is that he wants you to understand why you're doing what you're doing, which makes you comprehend math. Show every step on the exam, or he takes points off. Tests are exactly like the HW problems :)
Good. He stayed after class and helped me and worked with me outside of his scheduled office hours. He does a ton with technology, so if you are into that then you will like his class. He gets annoyed if you come in late.
It was an online course, so it required a lot of reading and watching online videos. The professor has videos posted online on youtube which are good. I watched a lot of khanacademy as well. He always answered my emails quickly and made videos to explain problems to me.
If you are looking for someone to just pass you, then take someone else. If you want someone to prepare you for the next course, then I'd recommend him. His lectures are clear and well organized. He is easy to follow and makes sense. Be prepared to put in time doing homework. His exams are just like his quizzes, so study those.
Tough. He will make you work for your grade.
Great instructor. His lectures are easy to follow and he is not boring. Grading is fair but you don't get points unless you show all your work, which can be a pain. I took this course in high school and the college version was much more difficult. Homework is long but matched his quizzes and those matched the test. I'd recommend.
He's an awesome professor and he will help you understand everything. He's not boring and likes explaining why things work. He responds quickly to your emails and he's cute. I had him over the summer and I would take his class again.
Get prepared to spend basically all of your precious time doing really long and hard homework that do not count, but you have to get them done and score at least an 80 on each one of them (5) to do quizzes. Tests are about only 7 questions long, which means that most of the materials you've studied wont be on the test. no extra credit. Good luck
So easy (unless you are lazy). His homework is required to take the quizzes. Quiz questions come directly from the homework (so you've seen them before). Test questions come directly from the quizzes (so you've seen them twice before). NO SURPRISES!!! Just do your homework. Doesn't get any easier than that!!!
Be prepared to invest a lot of time into this class. The hw and online quizzes are done through MyMathLab. You have to score at least an 80% on the hw in order to take the online quizzes. Hw is worth 0%, the online quizzes are worth 30%, and the exams are worth 70%. His exams are mainly application problem-based and consist of 6-7 questions .
Clear, interesting, and cares.
He is really good.
Good course. I learned a lot.
Taking his online Calculus class and love it. Very flexible. He lectures live over the internet (think khan academy). You can attend and ask questions using your mic or chat box. He records them in case you can't attend or want to re-watch. You can also go to campus because he lectures in a classroom and sit in just like a traditional class.
GET READY! Tons of homework that will literally take you about 60-80 hrs each week! You must achieve a 80% on your homework to access your quiz, but your homework does not count towards your grade. Quizzes count as 30% of your grade and test are 70% . Quizzes are extremely tough, and so are test! I passed his class with a B but be prepared to work!
In this class be prepared to spend many many hours of homework. In his lectures he goes very quickly through the material. If you do not watch the lecture live he takes 2-4 days to post the lecture. He gives no extra credit. If you work hard you will do fine, but be prepared to spend many hours on this course. Watching videos online are helpful.
He is great. One of the few teachers I've had that really cares about if you understand the material. Always available during office hours and will help you if you ask. I'd strongly recommend.
Online class. He lectures live twice a week and tapes the sessions if you can't make it. Most professors just expect you to learn from the book, so this was awesome. I guess you can even attend face-to-face if you want, but I never did. The recordings take a while to come up in the system, so there is usually a 24-48 hour turnaround.
Very easy to understand. Tests are straight forward because the questions come from the homework. If you study those problems, then there isn't any reason you shouldn't pass.
Outstanding, flexible, online class. You can mix and match any of the following options for this course: 1. Participate in a live online lecture twice a week. (Think Khan Academy "Live") 2. View the recorded lectures on your own time (email questions) 3. Visit campus and sit in on lectures. (If you realize online isn't for you.
Awesome! One of the best teachers I've ever had. Makes math extremely easy. He is crystal clear in his explanations and lays things out well.
Gives good feedback!
Everything in his class is cumulative, expect to spend a lot time doing schoolwork as the year progresses. If you don't learn it the first time then you are pretty much screwed because you will see it numerous times before the end of the year. Quizzes take hours to finish and are even longer than his tests. Alright teacher but expect a lot of work.
His online class is really a hybrid of sorts. He does a live streaming lecture that you can attend virtually twice a week and records this if you can't so you can watch it when you have time. He also does the lecture in a classroom, so you can attend if you would like (although it is not mandatory). He is nice and fair.
Business math class--there's a lot of online h.w. They don't count as grades but they are reviews for the online quizzes and in-person exams. Make sure to study long wordy problems from h.w. because he uses those problems on tests. Really cool professor if you have trouble with the class always speak to him; he's very understanding and helpful.
Believe me when I say math is my weakest subject! I managed to receive an A in this class. Get ready to study for hours if you're like me. Professor Braatz is beyond nice & is willing to help you even if you have a thousand questions like I did. You will have to put in work for this class but it'll be worth it when you get that A!
You don't have to come to class to learn the materials. He allows us to use Webex to attend the class but well, sometimes the microphone and recorder are not working. The class is easy, he explains everything very clearly. And he is funny too. But to me the class is kinda slow. Easy A though
Very cool professor and when I took him for honors micro-econ he was a bit unorganized, but super helpful for the honors project. Class work was pretty easy. Did not really use textbook; we only needed the online version to do home work.
Dude knows his stuff. Enough said.
he gives amazing lectures but wont help you outside of the classroom, just pay attention in class and you should pass.
Prof Braatz covered my class for a professor who left during the semester. He was fair in grading and his lectures were organized. He did a good job covering the end of the semester and helping students. He made his office hours available to us and helped me outside of those hours after I asked. Seemed like a nice guy.
Fair, no-nonsense, straightforward, clear expectations, and prepared. Will get you ready for the next course. Don't take if you aren't serious about school or learning. He made me a better math student.
He will overwork you to the point that you won't have time to focus on your other classes. 1 exam 10 sections 20 problems of homework per section (takes problems from mymathlab) 200 questions total only 30 will be on the exam F Your better off teaching yourself, his lectures don't help you at all when it comes to homework.
If your looking for an easy "A" for a math course, don't take him. His examples do not help you with the homework at all. You're better off teaching yourself, then going to class. The only way to pass this class is to do all of the homework and understand all of it! Take him if you dare 200 problems but only 30 on the exam, You have been warned!
Homework was optional and counted for extra credit on exams. Lectures cover example problems and questions on exams.
People complaining about OPTIONAL homework? It isn't even required! Plus you can do it for bonus pts. Test questions come from HW, so you get to see exact question types before exam. I bet anyone complaining tried to do it all the night before. Haha!
Overall good. I think he makes things easier to understand than the book does and helps organize the material for you. There are four tests and a final exam. He responded to emails pretty quick. I like that he is organized and it is clear what we are covering in class. He outlines things pretty well.
If you want to be a successful math student, do not take him. Cannot stress enough how poor of a teaching environment he set up. Assigns way to much homework, and test material is very difficult. Lets put it like this, at the beginning of the semester there were 30+ students in his class, after exam#2, maybe about 4 students.
Amazing professor. I had a family emergency and he recorded the lecture for me so that I wouldn't miss the material. He was really understanding when I went in to talk to him. He said that family comes first, which was nice to hear. His lectures are good and he tries alot to help you out. I'd take him again.
He spent a lot of time after class helping me with questions. Took him for Precalculus and I'm struggling because of my trig (only got a C). Went to see him and he recommended some books that I plan on reading over the summer. His lectures are AMAZING. So much better than what I had before. If you put in the time, you will learn A LOT!!!
Good class. It helps if you read and watch the text videos before class (I even try a few problems). When I go into class, it is so much easier since he does a good job of filling in the gaps. He is pretty cool, but does get upset when the class doesn't do homework. I've had him for two classes and liked them both.
Really good course and faculty. Math isn't my best thing, but I work hard in the course and got an A. There wasn't any required homework and exams came from practice problems we could do. He pauses and gives you a chance to think and ask questions which I found helpful.
Excellent. Things are explained really well and follow the calendar. There are lots of videos to help you out in case you get lost (some are his and some aren't). He stays after class to answer student questions and doesn't lecture too fast. Homework isn't too bad, but takes some time. Tests are just like the homework :-)
I enjoyed the class. Everything was explained well and it was easy to focus on what to study. Seriously, everything is so well laid out that the only way you wouldn't pass is if you didn't put in the effort.
Excellent instructor. Does lots of examples and explains things well. Would certainly take again.
Great instructor and class.
I liked the class. The instructor did a good job keeping the lecture interesting and was very clear in explaining stuff. I wish he was teaching trigonometry.
Its a great course. He has high expectations, but nothing unreasonable. If you put in the work, you will get a good grade. If you slack and pretend its a high school course, there is no way you will make it. If you want an easy A, this is not your class. If you want to be successful in Calculus, take him. Oh, and he's fair. Just do your work
The course content was pretty much like what I had in high school. I learned more in this class because it was more about why things worked rather than just plugging it into a calculator. Instructor was good. Explained things well and answered questions outside of class.
Prof. Braatz was a good Precal teacher. He is well respected and I really value his advice. I do have to say though, although I worked hard for this class, the end result wasn't what I expected. Make sure you have your Trig down and you will easily thrive in this class. DO use the book and complete HW problem for your own good.
Taking him for calculus II. He is very clear when explaining things and answering questions. He is also approachable. I've enjoyed the class so far and would take him again if he were teaching calculus III, which apparently he is not.
Professor Braatz is amazing for Cal 2 Summer session! Do the homework every night after class. The tests are formatted just like the quizzes. And a lot of the tests have questions from the quizzes and the homework. He also gives partial credit on tests and quizzes. Be prepared to spend 6-8 hours a day to be successful!! Happy I took it at LSC!
I honestly would not take him again. He's a nice guy and very approachable, but that's about it in my opinion. His lecture were extremely drawn out and he often went on tangents about what every little thing meant. Too many exams and quizzes for a summer session and not enough time to study. Prof Smalley is a great alternative.
Very good instructor. His lectures are organized and he gives a few problems to try after he does one or two to see if you got it and ask questions. Couldn't have been happier with this class.
Amazing professor! He has a enough tests and drops one, so if you have one or two bad days, it doesn't mess up your semester. His quizzes aren't worth very much of your grade and you mostly get to work in groups so that you can learn the material. He is was available during his office hours and made time outside of them when I couldn't make it.
I've never really been a great math student but this class has helped me immensely. The instructor is very knowledgeable. He is great.
Really good college instructor. At A&M my math teachers aren't accessible and can't explain ANYTHING. It was so nice to have this class where the faculty member could clearly answer my questions right away. I'm so glad I took this class here.
This was a good class. I found the lectures to be easy to follow. Examinations matched the lecture and assigned homework problems. He gave us suggested homework to look at, but didn't collect anything. I worked the homework and this made exams relatively easy. He is extremely nice and patient. I'd take him again and would recommend him.
Great Professor, I took this course over a 6-week summer semester and loved it. He goes through concepts clearly and precisely. He strives to make sure you learn the concepts, and doesn't just throw hard problems in your face. Wish he was at my university instead of at Lone Star 10/10
really good class. Didn't collect homework, but assigned problems to practice and gave worked out solutions for each problem. Lectures are really clear and so are his explanations to questions. Tests come from the assigned questions.
I took him for pre-calculus and I am again taking him for Calculus-II. He is a good professor and he does not hesitate to help the students outside the class. His lectures are clear.
Professor Braatz is a good guy and knows the subject . 4 exams and a final for the semester. he makes the tests from the homework (which doesn't collect) but good luck finishing the 1-40 problems for the next lecture where he moves to the next section. no test reviews for exams. he assumes you know calculus by heart.
Very nice math instructor. The course (Calc II) was hard, but that has nothing to do with him. If anything, he made things easier to understand than other faculty I have had. I like that he talks about why things work. It helped me remember steps. He recommends problems for you to look at, but how much you practice is up to you.
Easy A. Show up, take note, do your homework and get your A.
I liked the class. I can't compare this one to my other courses because they are all different, but I thought it was clear what was expected to earn a good grade.
This class was actually worth getting out of bed for. Instructor is good and the explained the material. Tests were really straight from the homework and he answered questions when I had them. He didn't go too fast or slow. Everyday was the same, so no real surprises. Easy to get into a good rhythm. I'll be back for more Professor Braatz!
Test were hard but he was am amazing teacher and teaches at a steady pace and is very helpful if you do not understand something!
Great instructor. I had him last semester for Calculus II and it was so worth taking him. My calculus III class is so easy. He makes you write things correctly and it actually helped me make less mistakes than when I did it in my head. it was a pain at first, but I got used to it and it made things so much easier. Highly recommend.
Do your homework and you should pass. Don't do your homework and you won't because that is where all of his quiz and test questions come from.
If you want an easy A, take someone else. If you want to be prepared for your next class, then you are in the right spot. You can't pass quizzes and tests by just putting random stuff down, but he makes it clear on what to study and isn't unreasonable. If you plan on coasting, this class is not for you.
I took Professor Braatz for PreCalculus, Honors Microeconomics, and Calculus 2. He is a very caring professor who wants every student to succeed but you need to be willing to work with him to get to that spot. In his math classes, he ensures that you are learning math down to the core theorems. Just be sure to get your notation correct on the tests
Good professor. He is available and will help you if you need. His tests match the homework. He covers one section a day and assigns 15 problems per sections. That isn't very much for a math class.
He is super nice. Anyone who says something different is doing so because they didn't get the grade they wanted. He answers questions in class and I went to his office a few times and he helped me. Overall the class is straight forward. There is homework, takes like 5 hours per week and a few tests.
Here is the class: Exams are exact HW problems with different numbers. Assigns 15 problems or less per section. One section per day and 6-7 sections per test. 4 tests and a final.
Good. His tests are exact HW questions. Some he gives partial credit, some he doesn't. You basically get 2-3 of the fifteen assigned problems on each exam. Tests are around 18 questions. He dropped one. He was nice.
I took him last year for Calculus II and then transferred to UH for engineering. I can't tell you how much I appreciate him and other faculty at NH after taking classes here. He actually explains stuff and you can ask questions. It isn't like that here. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Professor Braatz helped me pass college algebra. I worked really hard (this was my third time taking it) and I stopped into his office about once per week and he was always helpful and understanding. His lectures are clear and he told me to focus on making sense on why things work vs. memorizing. It wasn't easy, but I made it.
Typical class. Homework wasn't collected, which I like. Enough exams to recover from a bad one. He dropped one. Lectures are easy to follow. Couple people in our class were kicked out for cheating so be careful. He will answer questions in class if you have them. No reviews, but tests are like what he talks about in class and the homework.
He is organized with his notes and they follow the book. He outlines what is covered, lectures for a while, sometimes gives you time to work an example problem, and then assigns about 15 homework problems (doesn't collect) which is where he gets test questions.
I have never seen any professors who teach better than Prof. Braatz. He knows what he is talking about, and he does not mind repeating things if students don't understand the subject. He is really funny by the way. HW is optional, but I definitely recommend yall to work on it to understand the subject well.
I took this class in 6 weeks. HW was optional. There was a test every Monday. He taught calculus 2 in a very clear and understanding way. He told interesting and funny stories that helped pass time in the 4 hour class. It was not an easy class he makes you work for it. I highly recommend Prof. Braatz for calculus 2.
I took Professor Braatz for his 6 week summer session of Calculus 2. I loved this teacher! His lectures were amazing and he told stories to help pass the time during long days. He made me enjoy math again and I changed my major after taking his class. I would recommend him to anybody needing to take Calculus 2 that needs to learn the material.
Took calculus 2 over the 6 weeks summer session. Professor Braatz was great and very helpful. He made the class enjoyable and took the concepts really well. While the class is fast paced due to the short 6 weeks semester the grading system was adequate and wasn't demanding. overall great 6 weeks course with an awesome professor
Professor Braatz may be the best math teacher I have ever met. He understands that people have lives outside of Calculus and plans his class in a way that doesn't seem overwhelming. His lectures are clear and effective. He makes sure you know the basics before venturing too far.
Super easy class, helps you understand math even if you suck!!!! But you do have to pay attention to lecture he is very detailed but an amazing professor
Professor Braatz is certainly a sold choice. If you dont come to class you wont pass, but thats the case with pretty much any Calculus class you take. Definitely recommend.
If I was ever struggling I wanna was given the help I needed, lectures were to the point and thorough, homework was a little challenging at times but it payed off on tests.
his class was unnecessarily hard for me and a decent portion of the other students there with me. Honor students failed and had a hard time and straight A students as well. i would recommend another professor and save yourself the headache and take a more reasonable professor.
Professor Braatz is awesome! He is very thorough with his lectures and provides so many tips and tricks to other websites online in case you can't reach him in person. I loved his lectures and learned something new from every class! He gives you all the tools you need to succeed, you just have to do your part. Will most definitely take him for Calc
I have taken math 2 times and i always been disappointed because it was a hard subject for me, but professor Braatz helped me so much that i finally pass this class. Althought there was a lot of tests back to back, he made things a little bit easy for us and was also super understanding and sometimes would change our test days . awesome teacher !!
He is honestly the best prof I've taken for math. He is really good at reading the room if no one understands something and goes into detail with everything. He make sure you understand the math and not just memorize the formula. There is hw but its worth so little and the one issue is that he does not give a review for test but just take notes.
He was def my favorite professor. I always suck at math but I took him and literally passed the class with a 97%. He made it so easy by giving us homework that wasn't heavy and the test were easy as well. take this professor!!!!!!!
Taken with coreq 0314. Explains concepts in easy to understand illustrations. Gives lots of time to practice. Fair and pleasant. Very helpful during office hours. Does not overcomplicate exams; material is challenging but designed to test understanding of basic concepts vs difficulty for difficulty's sake. Lots of optional homework but not graded.
He was my favorite professor in Lonestar North Harris. I took his co req class and let me tell you, I was terrified of failing! But he explains SOO WELL. Hes so funny and makes lectures interesting. You can tell he loves teaching and really cares about his students. Your grade is based on four exams and final. I recommend this teacher!
He is a good professor. Your grade will be based on 4 tests and a final. He explains well of the material (tend to over-explain) and he is very hilarious. He gives you A LOT of practice because College Algebra is NOT AN EASY CLASS. Overall, good professor, very funny, but the class is hard and I took with the CoReq. Practice makes perfect.
Took Online. Videos were very detailed and informative. Good communication with timely response made class much easier.
Took him online during summer and it was an easy A+. There's only 4 tests and few homework assignments every week. He teaches so well that it's hard to not understand the topic. He goes in detail with literally everything. Just study the videos well because that's exactly what's on the test. Show ALL work on tests too! I highly recommend him!
Well since I took a hybrid class, it was a bit different because all of the work was done online. If we had any questions we'd just ask him when we got to class. Great Prof. and person in general. Homework was a bit much, but doable. Very organized online work. Would definitely take again.
I wish I could have had him as my math teacher for all 4 years of high school. He explains everything very clearly and traces all formulas/equations to their origins so you understand without having to memorize. You need to do all the homework and really do study for his tests. Attendance isn't required but unless you're a math whiz, you should go.
only reason I put a lot of homework is because I struggled at math. Easy to email after class for help & even made a couple of extra math videos to help me understand. If you're struggling JUST ASK PROF!
Very kind and helpful. If you struggle with math Id highly recommend him. Hes good at explaining concepts and is really easy to get a hold of if you have any questions. Im bad at math and still managed to learn a lot and do well in the class. You won't have to buy the textbook but you will need the Pearson access code for the homework!
I took professor Braatz for math 1314 and his class is pretty easy. We had to watch videos of him lecturing which would help us in our homework. During class he didn't lecture instead, we did our homework and he walked around to help us. He explains his videos really good and his tests are exactly like the homework. I would totally recommend him.
Currently taking course and he is switching grading process as class goes on , it isnt really fair but thankfully the course will be ending soon.
This was my first math class in college, and I can honestly say Prof. Braatz is amazing. I understand what he is teaching us from the videos he posts on d2l. Grades are there so you'll know your progress along the way. Exams are like quizzes, pay attention to videos to know the material.
If you are thinking of taking him definitely do it! This was my first math class and his video lectures are so helpful. He gives you weeks in advanced to do your work and most of them are just quizzes, super easy! And a few test also super easy. Take him you won't regret it.
Braatz truly is an exceptional professor. I had him for Math 1314 and Math 1342. His lectures are clear, concise, and thorough. He's kind, helpful, and easy to get a hold of if you have any questions. I was so nervous to take stats online but it was a breeze! Id highly recommend taking him for any math class.
Prof. Braatz makes you understand and learn the material and lesson. Also pay attention and make notes on videos and quizzes for future exams that are similar. If you put in the effort you can pass!
Took professor Braatz for 1314. The lectures on his videos help you alot! Homework helped me for my quizzes. Math is my weakness but if you take notes and do your homework you should be able to pass.
Professor Ryan Braatz has one of the most simple online set up, everything is well organized and easy to understand. If you send an email he responds quickly and most of the work he gives isn't hard at all. I also took him for MATH 1316 and he didn't give that much work. There was no homework, it was just quizzes and exams which made manageable.
Didn't use his own lectures, math lab taught the class. It's an easy A if you already have experience with Pre-cal. Almost felt like the class was a completion grade Tests and HW both worth 50% of the grade not proctored and unlimited attempts on both. Hes a nice guy and responds to emails quickly. If you struggle with math maybe take someone else.
I took the pre-req portion since my TSI score for math was bad and it blended into the lessons seamlessly. He didn't teach through lecture since the program taught us everything but there are no tests; just 2 knowledge checks per 5 sections. The class was really easy to follow for me even w/out taking math for a few years. Responds to email quick.
He is the best teacher you could have, he is so nice and he is always there to help you, he answers the email quickly. Also, I took his online class for Math statistics 1342 and he uses ALEKS for his assignment, one important thing you need to know is how to manage your time, if you didn't finish an assignment if you ask, he gives you extra time.
It's setup through Aleks and is self-taught. No lectures or professor interaction aside from the "welcome" video he posts that says use Aleks and if you need him, email him. There's no final, which is nice. If you need to have more interaction than just logging in to your Aleks account and completing your steps then you may want a different class.
Math 1314 was alright, all assignments where on MyMathLab, assignment are super easy and you can try as many times to get the question correct (not hard to get a 100). TAKE NOTES as they will help on the tests, if you don't have notes it will be confusing to do the test. If you won't do assignment I would not suggest you take the class.
I took Statistics with Proff.Braatz and I must say that it was A LOT of homework to do ( 20-25 topics with 5 questions each week ). The assignments are done through Aleks, no exams, no video lectures, ALEKS teaches you everything. Not a hard class, but you have to be prepared to do a lot.
His class was pretty self explanatory. Aleks is a easy software to understand and use. Just beware; the more you do, and smarter you are, the harder the work gets. The less you do, the more the work piles up by each week causing burn out. Use your time wisely. You have to spend a good amount of hours each day or stay up.
Prof. Braatz does not teach, only provides old videos. The entire class was taught by MyMathLab. Grading of 50% homework and 50% tests. About 10 homework problems per lesson. Lots of Trig review, so you must be strong with Trig. Five cumulative tests which consist of random homework problems from the entire course. Be prepared to teach yourself!
He has videos for every section and made additional ones for me to help clarify ideas. All I did was emailed him and asked for more help. He responded quickly.
Took him for statistics, the class was not super easy for someone that is bad at math but manageable. All homework was thru ALEKS, you take an initial exam that places you where you should be in the class then you work on from there. Due dates are very spread out so it gives you time to do the work.
Professor Braatz is an amazing professor and very caring. He laid out everything very clearly and made you aware of what he expects from the beginning. If you need assistance he responds quickly and is more than willing to help you. You have to put forth the effort in his class though to get a good grade, as calculus is not an easy class already.
Clear expectations and Tests and HW are similar in difficulty. Provides resources to learn from. Has office hours 2x a week & is willing to stay longer than the designated time. You are in charge of making sure you know the material this is not high school where you receive tons of busy work to make sure you know the material. HW due daily at 11pm.
He was good. It was all online and we used a third party online booklet type to do tests and homework. I am bad at math and got an A+ in statistics with him.
Great professor - his online class was straightforward. Used third-party tools, but the format worked well. As a math struggler, I surprisingly got an A+ with help from Unstuck ai.
