The lab assignments are time consumeing and overly hard. He gives good examples and makes a relatively boring class fun. Just, remember to turn off your cell! Trust me!

Good teacher. Always willing to help during and outside of class. He made the class fun by using videos that pertained to the subject he was covering that day. Fun class as well.

I loved the fact that he used videos in the class. They alowed us to to go over concepts instead of just talking about his experiences. Go to the review and do not miss class. The class was one of the most enlightening classes that I have taken. He should be a comedian.

This guy knows his stuff! He challenges you everyday in class to think outside of the box. His videos are awesome. When you first watch them you are a little confused, but then as he starts explaining the concepts throught them it all becomes crystal clear. His classes are more of an experience than a lecture. GO TO CLASS and TEST REVIEWS!!!!!!!

This class was tough. He post his class notes on-line, but you still need to write down all of his somments. His test cover everything. Do not miss class because the review will only get you a C. He asks a lot of questions over the videos. I liked the class, but hated the subject.

He always asked how he could make it easier for us. He wanted to make sure that we could get the grade we wanted. He was always available outside of class as well.

He is one of the few instructors that actually cares how you do in the class. He will help you out of class and extend office hours. I had been avoiding this class, but I can honestly say that Mr. Button is one of the best, if not the best, instructor that I have had.

Just be a little bit more clear about what to study

He gives you his lecture notes, but make sure that you take notes on his comments. If he has a test review, GO!... but do not count on it if you have been missing class. He shows a lot of videos and has test questions over them. I did not go to his office hours, but a friend said he was extremely helpfull. I would highly recommend his class.

Fun class. He had in class demonstrations and videos to help explain concepts. His test questions come strait from his notes and class comments. The test are hard if you do not write down what he says. I highly recomend him one of the best professors at K-State.

Professor Button will make you think, and my world changed because of it. Go to class! He makes it very fun. His test are hard, but unlike most of the exams that I have taken they are a learning experience themselves. He wants you to learn, I wish more instructors were like him.

Ryan Button has been my favorite teacher so far at K-State. He is very helpful and will do anything he can to teach you sociology. All he asks from you is that you come out of that class having a sociological perspective on things in your daily life. His lectures are funny and informative. He shows a lot of videos and gives plenty of examples.

This class has opened my eyes to the world in a way i never thought possible. Very smart and funny man, Ryan button is a great teacher and will do anything to make sure you leave with a sociological perspective on the world. Dont take this class if your close minded,he makes you think about some things that we aren't normally asked to think about.

He is a really cool guy, and he makes class informative and entertaining, he is a funny guy and I enjoyed his class a lot.

He is by far the best professor i have had. The way he jokes and incorporates humor into his lesson plan is great. The personal experiences that he shares really helps you comprehend the class material. He is also the only professor you can play video games with, "Halo 3". I give him kudos for that.

I enjoyed this class very much. Sometimes it was difficult to grasp what you were saying, though. However, in the end, I believe that I understand the basics of sociology.

Ryan Button is by far my favorite teacher I've had at K-State so far. He explained things in a way that was easy to understand, remember, and interesting at the same time. I learned a lot this semester and found it really applies to my life unlike many other courses where I will never use the information again. I'm very sad the class is over!

When the class first started I thought he was dorky. He would always call us sociologists. His class is very interesting and it is the one class that you will want to go to. He will always help you outside of class, but you will need to remind him if you have a meeting. Prof Button is the greatest thing to happen to K-State in my four years here.

Great class. He gives you notes but the test come from his lectures. Keeps the class entertaining with videos and a sharp wit. He has in class assignments that are worth a test grade, so going to class nets you easy points.

Good teacher and it's an easy class, but the class should be renamed to Socialism instead of Sociology because of what he says and what he teaches.

I enrolled in this class off of a friends recomendation and have not been disapointed. Professor Button's class is an experience. The book is actually used in the class, so you will need it. He gives you his notes, but there are a lot of in class assignments. You will want to come to class.

Professor Button's lectures are sometimes a little boring because of the power point format but his enthusiasm about certian subjects rubs off on you. Overall, he does his best to help you do well, pratically bends over backwards. I really enjoyed his class.

Button rocks... really helpful and the class is actually fun to go to. If you just study the book you can get a guaranteed B in the class but there are occasionally in class assignments that are not hard at all. Take this class or his intro class they both rock. :)

I HATED Intro to SOCIO that I took with a different Prof. But I LOVED Button's Social Problems class. He wants truly wants his students to learn, and has a variety of approaches to doing that. He is extremely helpful and knowledgable.

Mr. Button could teach a class on watching PAINT dry and turn it into a life experience. Social Problems should be mandatoy for all students. He knew us by name and demanded more from us on a daily basis. I will miss this class.

Ryan Button should be awarded best teacher on campus! No lie. I learned more in Social Problems than I probably have in any other class. He makes the subject interesting no matter what the topic. I HIGHLY recommend taking this class! I am definitely going to miss this class next semester.

You learn a lot from the discussions. Makes you think about social issues around you. Important to read the textbook since that's what most of the test questions are about. Class are not really lectures but just discussions.

It was one of the only classes that attendance wasn't mandatory and I WANTED to still come every day. Nothing Ryan taught us could be learned from a textbook, it was real, and you can apply anything he said to how you live your life and the way others do to. The class was what you made of it so I won't say it was easy or hard, because thats on you.

I had his wife Andrea for Intro to Soc and all I can say is that they are both amazing. Mr. Button is a mental heavyweight and his enthusiasim will make you want to work harder. The class is impossible to explain and he does not water down anything. Question Everything!

He was the substitute teacher for my class, and he was absolutely great!!!!! he is sooo funny and his learning style is amazing. Boring? No where near what he is lol. He is totally awesome. The whole class participates in discussion, it was sooo fun. For only 2 days as a sub for our class..dang I wish all my professors were like him lol... =)!!!

Course definitely challenges you to think outside the box. Be prepared to look at our society and your own live completely different after just a few classes. Read the text book and be prepared for discussions. You won't ever watch tv, a movie or look at anything the same after this course. But its definitely worth it!

There are very few people who have managed to make me feel passionate about something. They usually have to have some great energy to attract people or be really passionate about the subject matter themselves. I am a marketing graduate and a prospective law student. Please believe I will try to fight structure everyday of my life.

He did not force us to watch the news. All he did was ask us what was going on in the U.S. at the beginning of class. I have told all of my friends about him and at no point has anyone told me to shut up. Instead they just ask "how was class?" It wasn't a class. It was an experience.
