Was kind of a tough teacher. He's really helpful when you go into his office ans ask questions though. I give him the benifit of the doubt because this was his first time teaching. Give him a try, he can only get better.
Very good guy, but during class did not learn one thing. Wiliing to work with you all you want outside of class but during class nothing is learned. Everyone in the class was lost the entire semester. This was his first year so his was just getting his bearings, but the class suffered for it. Good nice guy though.
Super nice guy! Not many like him. Class uses Excel to solve statistical problems, which means a class I can take to the office. I was probably the worst student in class till I went to his office for help. He taught me till I got it (not just in one day). Hint: get the equations written down on a grid sheet. The class will be a breeze if you do.
Oh man, what a great teacher! He is really a sweet guy, he wants everyone to do well and believes in them. The class has a large workload, but he teaches so well and is so willing to help that it doesn't matter.
Brother Croman really cares about his students and wants them to do well. He gets down on our level and makes the material understandable. Fun and down to earth. I am terrible at math and kept an A the whole semester, amazing!! Take him for stats!!
Stats is difficult to learn, but brother Cromar is the man! Knows how to motivate students, and gives you a lot of chances to succeed. Very available and very willing to help students. Have the right attitude and he'll do the same.
Great person. Felt the spirit everytime I stepped into his class. Makes passing very realistic. Do all of your homework assignments, take notes on your readings, and you'll do fine on quizzes and the class. Doesn't makes stats intimadating.
Cromar was great. He was very willing to help outside of class. I was terrified at the beginning. Already took the class from somebody else and tanked. Cromar made it easier and more understandable. Ended up with an A-. You won't find a better Stats teacher. Oh. When you take the survey, do not say that he is in his 60's. Just a warning.
One of the greatest teachers I've had. There's a lot of work, but he makes it clear what he expects to be done, and helps you along the way. I would recommend him to anyone who struggles in math, just pay attention, take good notes and read out of the book, and you'll do great.
Brother Cromar is a fantastic teacher! I enjoyed going to class and I hate math. I thought that statistics would be the bane of my life this semester but he helped it become a good experience. I'm not scared of math anymore. :)
Brother Cromar is an amazing teacher. His statistics class is hard but he really wants every student to succeed. He is willing to take the time to help his students learn. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! He is wonderful!
Brother Cromar is amazing! I dreaded taking stats but he makes everything easy to understand, and is willing to work with you until you do understand. Not an easy class, you have to work hard and study hard but it is possible to get an A.
I am terrible at math, but Cromar is an excellent teacher! If you pay attention to what he says in class, the homework is easy and fast. He uses SPSS which saves you a crapload of time. He is always available for help, and is open to what you have to say. He was a very enjoyable teacher, and he loves to crack jokes. Go Spirit of Ricks!
Great teacher! Material can get tricky, but he makes it hard to fail the class. Lots of work, but just makes it easier to pass the class. Tests can get tricky if you don't do the notecard and prepare. The presentation wasn't so bad either. There isn't really a final either. Gives you lots of material to succeed like powerpoints, tables, software...
Br Cromar is a pretty cool guy. But I wish he would just stick to his syllabus more. A lot of the lectures were confusing and very boring. Extremely hard to stay awake in his class, especially in the morning. I passed the class, but it was hard. He's always willing to help a student, his class definitely wouldn't be my first choice to take again.
You have to put in the work to get a good grade, but Bro. Cromar is a great teacher and connects with the students well!
He is a phenomenal teacher! I am very bad at math and struggle understanding it but he made it easy and clear even for me. This is an easy class that does not require a ton of work, yet you learn the material. He connects well with students and has enthusiasm and a lot of experience. I highly recommend brother cromar!
He is a great teacher, is alot of fun and explains everything very well, and if you want further help he is always open to scheduling a time to meet with you and help you understand
Brother Cromar is one of the best teachrs I've had. He did a great job explaining, and he makes it almost hard not to do well in the class, you can edit your work and almost always get full points as long as you really understand why you are editing wrong answers. He also uses BrainHoney better than any other teacher on campus. Two thumbs up!
Awesome teacher, probably my favorite on campus so far. SO funny and willing to help. Always has good stories and really knows what he is talking about.
Brother Cromar is super easy, but still a great teacher. Everyone said stats was going to be a nightmare but he made things so simple for us. You dont need the text book, but you do need SPSS, just follow the Powerpoints he has online, they are much more simple. Great guy, great classs.
BEST TEACHER I've ever had. Not excited about this class, I kept registering and then dropping the class because I was scared. Brother Cromar was such a great teacher. Really explained things in a way that made sense and always willing to help. All of the assignments helped with our understanding and were never just busy work. Amazing teacher.
Best teacher ever! He mad Bio Stats worth attending. He starts every class with a spiritual message. He's very helpful and such a great guy! I loved this class. He goes over all the reviews before tests, and really cares about his students. TAKE HIS CLASS!!
Bro Cromar is an AWESOME teacher!! There are a couple of homework assignments each week but you are allowed to check your answers. On tests you are allowed to use a note card. On top of that he is very understanding and easy to talk to. He is so hilarious that class is never boring.
Awesome teacher. Writes all the stats department tests so he really lets you know what will be on the exams. Has a great method of teaching (which he'll explain at the beginning of the semester) No reason to fail this course. Explains material thoroughly so it's easy to understand.
Cromar is awesome. I was not excited about this class but he taught everything very well. All of the assignments really helped to understand the material. He was very clear and always willing to go above and beyond until you understand.
Brother Cromar is such a good teacher. He explains things so well and is always willing to answer any questions. He does such a good job at being consistent with what is taught and the tests given! I was scared of taking a statistics class before we started and now I feel so comfortable with all the information given and how to use it!
Bro Cromar is a great teacher! He is funny and I enjoyed his class a lot. Also he explains the material well and really helpful for his students.
Super easy class. You kinda teach yourself but Brother Cromar is helpful if you ask him. He is really friendly and as long as you do the homework you will get a good grade
Unfortunately this class is set up so you teach yourself. If I had known, I would have taken it web based. Brother Cromar is nice, but doesn't really teach. He relies on TA's to try to teach in the learning labs, which are two of the four classes per week. This is a hard subject and I think could be better if clear instruction was given.
Great class, many ways of getting the info. First, you try to learn it, then your group members help you, then the TA can help if you need it and then Bro. Cromar. Some people just aren't good at explaining it so I'm glad that this class has many options/people for me to obtain the info. We also go over it 3 times, very helpful.
This Bio statistics class is not easy BUT Brother Cromar was very willing to help and work with you. He had TA's to help and even though my grade wasn't great I learned so much!!! I highly suggest him as a teacher!!!
Brother Cromar is a great teacher! Gives short, sometimes emotional, inspirational thoughts to start each class. Make sure you like the group you pick, you'll work with them all semester. He was very fair and willing to meet and help me understand. I really really respect him and feel he wants everyone to succeed. Not an easy class, but he's great.
I love the setup of his class! You spend two days on each lesson; the first day with your group and the second as a class. The work load is manageable, and if Brother Cromar knows you are struggling, he will make sure you understand the material.
The course is ridiculous in that it is worth 3 credits but takes up 5 or more credits worth of time. To make up for this he is extremely flexible when you are willing to do what it takes to pass the class. I am not good at math in the slightest, but he made it so that I can understand the basics of statistics now, which will help in my field.
This was a great class. You meet 4 times a week (twice in class with the teacher and twice with the group that you will choose on your first day). There are 2 quizzes (taken with your group) and 2 homework assignments each week. Sometimes the wording in the tests and quizzes is poorly done which makes them harder, but it is possible to pass them.
Brother Cromar helped me realize my own hidden passion for stats. The class is VERY group oriented. In fact, you'll almost never do anything outside of a group. I really liked the structure of the lectures. He alternates lecture and project days in a way that really helped solidify the concepts in my mind. Awesome teacher, recommended!
I loved Brother Cromar!! He was great and you can tell that he truly cares about his students and that they pass. The class itself was a little hard. I hate the way everything was setup and how everything was group based. The tests are not that bad. If you put the effort into this class, you should do well.
He explains the material so you understand. He never made me feel dumb for asking questions to clarify. He makes class fun! I liked the inspirational message at the beginning of each class, which most often encouraged us that we could do hard things. One of my top professors at BYUI.
He is an awesome teacher! He will answer any questions that you have and he will not make you feel bad or stupid for asking. He shares great spiritual thoughts and is very encouraging and motivational. He is a goof-ball and he knows it and he really likes his Denver Broncos. He has made this class so much less stressful than it could have been.
Brother Cromar's class was simple and easy to understand. 60% of your grade is tests, then you have a group project and some homework assignments. If you do all the work and pay attention in class, there's no way you should get less than an A. He's a great teacher and always willing to help.
He's AMAZING! just do not fall behind it is super hard to catch up! As long as you follow all the work it's an easy class.
Brother Cromar is one of the funniest professors! He examples to teach stats that are interesting and often uses interactive examples to teach difficult concepts. He is one of my favorite professors! I would definitely recommend him!
We all know that stats isn't the easiest but Cromar makes sure you understand. He will brake everything down and if you have any more questions he is more than willing to talk with you one on one. You get a page of notes for each test. Do the readings, the work, show up to class and you should good.
Fantastic teacher! I went into this class thinking it would be incredibly hard and I would hate it. I ended up loving it and the teacher. Everything was explained so simply and basically and he took time to answer our questions. he also will put on music on his phone and dance into class. Always cracking jokes.
Brother Cromar is amazing. He is the reason i changed my major. He helped me understand very well statistics and was very chill and relaxed. It's very obvious that he just wants to help you understand math and doesn't want you wasting your days away with busy work. He's a great teacher!
Brother Cromar is amazing! He starts every class with a spiritual insight and is sensitive to the spirit. Keep up with all the assignments, theres a lot of them! This class is group work heavy, you take group quizzes twice a week. He is very clear on what he expects out of the assignments and isn't afraid to answer questions.
Brother Cromar is a great teacher. The class is full of busy work that if you don't stay on top of it will overwhelm you but he makes it easy to manage it as long as you do your part.
Super nice guy, but I did not learn a single thing from him. Not willing to help in class. I was in class of 60 and would definitely not take it again. He is unclear, slightly awkward, and easily distracted. The only reason I passed this class is because of the math lab. Good luck with him, talk to him if you need help he is very caring.
He wants so badly to be loved by his students. He awkwardly tries to connect with student but fails at it. but hes a good man who cares alot. He wants you to succeed but is not the best in helping you do so. There was like 70 or so kids in my class and this was really hard on the poor guy. He tries to teach but does not always explain things well.
Brother Cromar is awesome! He is really funny, but if your not particularly good at math, you may not want to take him. He doesn't explain things very well to a large class of students, but if you ask him one on one he does better at attending to your needs. I would defiantly take from him again.
He is a great teacher who can always explain concepts well. He was willing to meet with me outside of class and makes you feel like he wants you to do well and will help you be successful.
I love Brother Cromar! I'm not very good with all the math stuff, but he is great at explaining problems so that you understand them, and he's very patient. He's also hilarious and makes class really fun. Tests are a big part of your grade, but you do lots of prep beforehand, so you know what you're doing.
Bro Cromar cares a lot about his students. He really applies the principle of teaching according to needs. Sometimes he would oversimplify concept, but he did that just to make sure everyone in class would understand.
I love Brother Cromar. He knows what he is doing. I did miss his class quite a bit. If you don't come to class you will miss a lot of points because there are in class assignments that are worth 5% of your grade. He is super understanding as well. The most fun days we had were when he danced in class, he's super funny too.
This class is really rough and you have to really work for it. The model is you learn it on your own then go to class and kind of learn it. Its easy to get behind because it builds on itself so you have to understand almost everything. He does help students a lot on the side. You will most likely have to go in for help or get a tutor.
He is an amazing teacher! Is is ready and willing to help inside and outside of class with homework. He is a champion amongst math teachers. Not to mention he is super HOT!!!
Brother Cromar is amazing! I am really bad at math and he is the first teacher that I've ever had that helped me understand what I was learning and feel like I could actually pass the class. He is very clear about what he expects and is great at explaining the material. I definitely recommend Brother Cromar!
Brother Cromar is the best professor to possibly take a course from. He is very patient with every student, goes through the material in depth, and provides practice quizzes/tests which really solidify the information. If you pay attention, take notes, and put forth a solid effort, getting an A will be easy. Cromar is one of my favorite teachers!
Brother cromar is super helpful but the class material is very difficult.
Brother Cromar is a really good math professor. He truly cares about math and it helps when you ask him for help. He is able to explain things really well which is awesome if you get confused by math easily. Also, he starts class with a mini devotional which those honestly got me through the last semester.
Brother Cromar is a great teacher! Take him!
Brother Cromar is exceptional. I am really not great at math and it's very difficult for me. He helped me by explaining things as many times as I needed. He made the class fun too and did great on weekly zoom meetings (that were recorded if you couldn't attend).
Great professor. Knows his stuff. It's a hard class but he offers tons of help.
I love Bro. Cromar. His spirit is great & you can tell he loves the gospel. He shows his students he cares a lot about them individually and wants them to succeed. There is group projects but they boost your grade and arent too difficult. I went to tutoring a couple hours a week. He is empathetic and helps outside of class? can have some late work.
Nice guy, but the class is ridiculous. Should've taken it online honestly. The prep quizzes are exactly like the team quizzes. I felt like I learned more on my own than I ever did in class. He makes a lot of awkward, kind of insensitive jokes. Some students like him, but he just wasn't my cup of tea.
Best math teacher! I hate math but had to take stats for my degree. He is great at explaining the concepts and gives time each class to answer questions you have. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
I was always scared to take Statistics, but Brother Cromar helped me to grow to love it! He makes the class enjoyable and fun along with many group projects that help you learn. Make sure to attend each class and you will learn what you need to for the tests. He is the teacher to take if you are scared of statistics!!
Brother Cromar is a wonderful professor he understands stats and is very patient with students even if they have asked the same question several times in a row and still don't understand. He is really just a kind man who wants to help students understand the best they can.
I dont really see what everyone sees in him. He doesnt really teach the material. He expects you to read the textbook and then come to class with questions. He doesnt ever really teach the material unless you yank it our of him. I have a really hard time reading math textbooks so I just didnt like this class. He is a really good guy though.
Brother Cromar is the best teacher I have ever had. He will dance for the class when everyone is brain dead. The class requires work to understand the material, but he doesn't give busy work, and lets you leave class early on group days if you get done early. I can't tell you enough how much you will want to take his class. 10/10.
Brother Cromar is such an awesome professor. He is always doing and saying things to make the students laugh. This class is a great experience with Brother Cromar!
YOU HAVE TO READ THE TEXTBOOK (its not that long and its not that much) also, the online biostats textbook has videos- super helpful. otherwise, cool guy.
Brother Cromar is probably the best math teacher I've ever had. He's a lot of fun and he's very kind and understanding. A bit nerdy, super passionate about what he teaches, and has a great sense of humor.
He is such a good professor. I didn't even know what biostatistics was until I took this course, but he made it so enjoyable. Professor Cromar is also super funny and helps a lot if you have questions. The workload isn't too bad. You have prequizzes due before each class, a team quiz in class, and a homework quiz after class. I would 100% recommend
I'll keep it nice and short. Take Math325 from Brother Cromar! It's a hard class but he makes it enjoyable and helps you learn and succeed.
Hands down, Brother Cromar has been my favorite professor I've had at BYU-I yet. He is genuine, caring and takes the time to memorize each student's name. He is also very clear on all his expectations. The homework actually prepares you for the exam and it's easy to get a good grade in the class as long as you try.
The class is somewhat difficult, but if you stay on top of the homework it's pretty easy to understand. Cromar is awesome and his class has a really good structure. If you do better on the final than a previous exam he will bump your grade up. Super reasonable professor with clear expectations. He always has great spiritual thoughts to start class.
Class feels like a drag, funny jokes and long spiritual messages are great, but you do the majority of the learning on your own. There are loads of group projects, kind of drives me crazy. Brother Cromar is a nice guy, and the class has a good structure, but boy does it feel like I am wasting time going to his class.
Brother Cromar is the goat. He is a great teacher and is able to make stats fun. He always goes on crazy tangents that don't have much to do with stats, but they are crucial for ones ability to stay focused and not fall asleep. He is extremely talented, and the best lip singer I have every seen. I would definitely recommend Saint Cromar.
He is one of the kindest, most genuine teachers Ive ever had. When I missed class twice in 1 week, he emailed me to make sure I was okay. It means so much to have teachers that care for their students and notice when they may be struggling. He responds to emails promptly and is always available to talk and helped me pick my major. Hes the BEST!!
One of the easiest math classes Ive taken. He goes over any questions you have in class. There is a lot of group work toward the second half of the semester but it can all be easily done in class if your group works together on it. Cromar was very kind and funny and made class enjoyable.
Such a good professor, he always has the best spiritual thoughts and really prepares you for the test. There are a lot of group projects, but they are easy
Brother Cromar is always asking us for feedback and questions. When there was confusion on a topic he spent time working to clear up any confusion. Lots of chances to improve your grade, easy to contact, and quick responses. Very understanding with personal emergencies perfect balance of diving deeper at times but not overwhelming us
This class was hard but I honestly really enjoyed it. I felt like I learned a lot. Brother Cromar is probably the funniest professor I've had. He has no filter but it keeps class interesting. Lots of group work but doing every assignment will help you a ton in the class. If you work for it you can get a good grade.
The class was much easier than I thought it would be thanks to Brother Cromar, He was good at clearly explaining the principles learned in the hw, and the course was set up in a way that really focuses on helping the student do well in the class. I enjoyed having him enough to become his TA for the next semester.
Brother Cromar is amazing! I'd say I'm horrible at statistics, but Brother Cromar was always willing to help me out. I asked to go over my exam with him once, and he was super sweet and told me exactly what to study to do better on the next exam.
Brother Cromar is probably the best teacher I've ever had here at BYUi. He is caring, loving, funny, and smart, he keeps the class lively and awake. I loved going to class because of how he teaches and interacts with us. He is a fantastic professor and will work with you. Take his class for stats and you won't regret it.
Brother Cromar is absolutely the best math teacher I've ever had. Before taking his class, I had no idea what to expect, as I knew nothing about statistics. Now it's my favorite class and I look forward to learning new material. The class is fast paced, but if you stay on top of the assigned material, it's actually not hard at all.
I have a lot of love/respect for Brother Cromar. He does his best to help his students succeed, he'll work with students at their level, and he'll do his best to help them succeed. It's very easy for a student to get close with him, and it's easy to feel cared for and that he's proud of you. Classwork can be hard, but he works to help ya understand
This class is easy for a math class. The prep isn't much, and there isn't much actual math, it's more a computer application and scenario interpretation type class. Bro. C really cares about the students. You pick a group at the beginning, and you take all the quizzes with them. Everything has 2 attempts. For the 4ish exams you can have notecards.
Brother Cromar is a nice guy, but he is one of the worst professors I had in my experience at BYUI. The text he chose for this class is the most awful piece of garbage I have encountered. He does a poor job of explaining even the most basic concepts. Take this class from any other math professor.
95% of instruction done online. Do not take if you do not learn well on your own.
He will look out for the best interest of the student. if you have questions and he doesn't know he will help you get your answer. however, he knows his stuff very well. He is understanding and cares for you and your learning.
If you are good at learning things on your own this class is for you. Coming to class felt like a waste of time because he can't explain anything. None of the lectures were helpful. He is very nice and very spiritual but as a teacher he is not good. Honestly should have just taken the class online, no benefit of taking it in person.
Brother Cromar is a fantastic human being. More than just a professor, he is a friend. He knows the information very deeply, and is willing to help you learn the information. There is a lot of group work, but it helps you to know the information a lot better
Bro I LOOOOOVE BROTHER CROMAR what a homie
He understands wanting to help students better than any teacher. He goes out of his way to help you succeed. He is also super funny and if the class reciprocates his energy you will have a blast. He is very patient too. If you have a question, he will always take the time to help answer it and focus on the individual. One of the best!
DO NOT TAKE ANY FORM OF THIS CLASS IF YOU DON'T TEST WELL! 4 grades determine 55% of your grade in the class. The rest of the work you do is glorified busy work throughout the week. Every class is monotonous. He is funny I guess, but I wouldn't take a class set up like this again. Changed my minor because of the way this class is set up.
Every week there's usually 2 lessons and you'll have a prep quiz, team quiz, homework quiz, and application quiz but 2/4 you work with your group and the other 2 you do alone and you get 2 chances for them so it's not too bad.
I absolutely love the teacher—he's such a nice and amazing guy—but this class feels more like an online course. You do all the lessons before class and barely learn anything during class itself. Plus, you're stuck taking team quizzes every day, so even if you've mastered the material, you still have to stay the entire time.
Brother Cromar is a very nice, humble, funny person and clearly has a strong testimony. He is 10/10 BUT his class setup is terrible. 4 Exams are worth 55% of your grade and though they're exams, it kind of sucks. If you do better on Exam 2 than Exam 1 for example, he changes Exam 1's score to match Exam 2's which is nice but it's hard.
Brother Cromar is such a good person. I took intermediate stats as an elective to help prepare myself for research, and I could not recommend it more. I thought I was going to hate it, but I actually genuinely loved it. Brother Cromar is very good at guiding you through everything and he really really cares.
Brother Cromar is a kind professor who truly cares about his students. The class has a lot of group work, which can be helpful for learning, but can also feel like a waste of time. Staying on top of the material and using tools like unstuck ai make this manageable class a rewarding experience.
The class was the hardest I took last semester; the math is difficult, and so is the course work. But he is hilarious and always looking for a way to cheer us up. He gave extra credit for us to go get ice cream with our tables, took our class to the ropes course, brought Oreos for finals, and danced like nobody was watching. 10/10 would recommend.
This class is not difficult as it is extremely straightforward, and I wouldn't consider myself mathematically inclined. Brother Cromar is hilarious and he has a lot of personality. Might as well take this light-load class with a professor who makes things interesting.
Brother Cromar is amazing! He cares about all of his students (even learns their names). His class is difficult, but he's always willing to work with you. You have to be willing to put in the work, but you will learn a lot. He puts you in groups, which is super helpful for learning together. He's super fun and very knowledgable about statistics.
Brother Cromar is an excellent teacher. The way he organized his course ensures maximum learning and minimum stress. In addition to lots of laughter, the classroom is filled with earnest learning. I will definitely take more classes from him; he is one of my favorite teachers so far.
Brillant math professor! He takes time to know everybody and their needs. Being introduced to R programming was difficult, but even a year after taking this class, and going to other classes that require R for homework, it suddenly clicked. It's nice to see I'm ahead of my current classes because of his class.
All the exams have notecards available and you have a group project where you do research. Before class there is a reading and quiz, in class he goes over the common wrong questions and then there is a group quiz after class. He also makes sure you build bonds with your group members and that no one is left out, he is easy to talk to as well.
