After taking a semester of his 1301 English class at 7am, I think i know what im saying when i say that He is a very cool teacher who grades pretty easily and is always willing to help. He hardly uses the book even though he says to buy in the syllabus. 4 out of 5

Definitely taking his 1302 class! Made learning both fun and serious. I learned so much about writing essays. He didn't use the textbook very often, but it was helpful when we did use it. Tests were only the essays we worked on.

good teacher loves to joke around and talk about life. He is a easy grader. Show him interest and your on his good side and will receive a good grade.

Super cool professor. He's really funny & gets side tracked a lot. Best English professor I've had. Essays are expected to be 3-4 pages max & he's not a hard grader at all! He posts blogs as hw once in a while & gives out vocab quizzes but they're easy. I recommend him 100%.

Professor Fletcher is a great instructor! He makes class interesting and he encourages class discussion. Easy work. We have 4 main papers in this class which is fairly easy to do. I would recommend him to anyone!

He is very funny and laid back! I took him for Summer I and had 4 essay, one final based on a movie we watched in class and 3 vocabulary quiz. Super easy as long as you try! Fair grader. And he gives you. Extra credit for going to the writer's workshop. Take him!

Really great professor. He is very funny and makes class interesting by making jokes. We didn't have any tests in this class, we had three vocab quizzes (fairly easy), 4 essays to write (very easy grader), and a final exam. He's very easy going as long as you respect him while teaching. He's very outgoing!! definitely DO take fletcher!!

Fletcher is a great professor. I took him for Composition 1 in my first semester freshman year, and I don't regret it one bit. Ryan is a very flamboyant and fruity teacher, but it adds to his uniqueness and professionalism as a professor. His material is fairly easy, and he gives an immense amount of time to complete everything. TAKE HIM!

He's hilarious, extremely devoted to his work, helps out so much on your essays (you'll have 4), and his vocabulary quizzes and homework are a snap! Also, so much extra credit!

This is the only class I've taken that could be classified as TOO easy. He's nice, tells stories, and is very easy to talk to. Easy grader. Only had to write 3 short papers and 1 five page paper. Gives extra credit and easy quizzes. Some class participation is required but not much. I would recommend this class to non-English majors.

If you want an easy english class, take this course! Attendance isn't necessary, but should be seen as respectful. He helps you with papers and sticks to his office hours. Takes forever to grade.

He has been my favorite teacher at Collin. He is always in his office and I visit him multiple times to make sure I was in the right track. Prof. Fletcher was great. This was my first college class. I am so pleased with him as an instructor that I have told everyone I know about him. There was no point during the class I felt bored. Vocab quizzes were matching and he usually had one or two extra credit questions. Highly recommend to all.

He is funny and very fun to talk to. He does bring up food a lot, but so always have food in class you will get hungry.

I hated my first English Prof. at Collin. Prof. Fletcher really changed my perspective in English 1302. Although, there is a TON of reading required it really isn't that bad. It fly's by. Text books are required for pop quizzes and referencing, but it isn't mandatory. Prepare to laugh because he's also extremely funny!

Amazing professor! He is an easy grader and makes the class interesting. He sometimes does book checks so I recommend buying the books, he also uses them for quizzes. His classes fill up fast though make sure to sign up early!

I had Professor Fletcher in Summer 2016 English 1301. He was phenomenal and cared about his students. He also really took the time to make sure you developed your writing style. He also gives good feedback and works with students of all learning styles!

Prof. Fletcher is hands down one of my favorite professors. He does have strong political opinions which he makes known. He is so funny and no lecture is ever boring. There is a lot of reading, but only a few essays plus the final. Taking him again for 1302 but his class fills up on the first day of registration so, good luck!!

He is a great professor overall. He isn't difficult to understand and most of his quizzes are listed in his calendar that you should read to keep track of whats going on in the class. I would recommend Mr. Fletcher to anyone that is going to do English 1302.S33

Mr. Fletcher is a great person. He teaches the class well and is very easy to talk to. He's always open in office hours for discussion. I took him for both 1301 and 1302 and got an A+ in both of them (worked hard for them). Highly advise taking Mr. Fletcher's class!

He makes the class very easy! Whenever it's time to take the quiz he makes those easy as well and gives hints. He always has a positive attitude and genuinely cares about students! I would reccomend to take his class.

Prof. Fletcher is a hilarious teacher who laughs all the time almost for no reason which is the joke itself. He makes himself available for students to see him and wants his students to excel. Of course, it's English so expect to write papers but you'll be given adequate for them. Use the writing center for extra credit and research help.

I took Prof Fletcher for ENG 1301 and 1302 in high school for Dual Credit. He is so funny and really loves English. He helped me learn to enjoy writing. Honestly, the best professor I've ever had and I'm graduating next semester.

He was such a great professor that I took his class again for 1302 as well. He does sometimes pass around an attendance sheet. All you have to do is show up and take down some notes of his lecture bc he has a quiz every week or so online. You can use your notes and it is literally just things he has either mentioned in class or from the book.

Took his online 1302 class. Very straightforward with all his assignments, fair grader. It is not self paced, assignments for the week are posted Monday and reports are due Friday. 3 essays and 5 quiz's, textbook not required. Definitely recommend his online class.

Really easy going and fun to have in class, has easy quizzes and gives good feedback on the multiple papers you will write, says textbook is necessary for quizzes but I passed them fine without it. Would take again!

Fletcher is a very charismatic and student-focused teacher! He is responsive to emails and provides very detailed assignments. He tries very hard to excite students about school by posting fun videos! He is flexible about assignments, willing to extend deadlines, and works with students to help them perform their best. Such a kind person! :)

Great Professor. He is so nice and he gives a lot of time to students to complete their work. He is willing to communicate and compromise with us. His class was great; we had only a few essays, no exams, a few quizzes, and small assignments. He would always try to help us in class and the book and attendance aren't too important.

His class is fairly easy, but he is very lecture heavy. You can only be absent 8 times before he fails you, but he rarely takes attendance. He's really funny, cares about his students, and is always willing to help!

Dr. Fletcher is unfortunately not coming back for my dual-credit course next semester, which is so incredibly sad. I would fr give my right and left arms for him to stay. I had Professor Fletcher for a high school dual credit class. He is super funny and laid back. He has weekly quizzes but the questions are incredibly easy. His papers require minimal effort and he is great at explaining the topics for any paper. There is a textbook that contains all the stories but it can be found as a free PDF online. Loved him

After finding out Professor Fletcher would not be teaching my dual credit spring semester, I was DEVASTATED. He's extremely helpful in feedback and fostered a collaborative learning environment. I am super grateful to have learned, read, and discussed English literature with him.

Dr. Fletcher is the GOAT. Endearing, funny, and an overall chill professor. He's extremely responsive to emails and was even willing to provide feedback on my college app essays. Dr. Fletcher really wants his students to succeed and he is NOT the type of professor to take off points for no reason just to make our lives miserable. Highly recommend.

In short, DOC FLETCH is a real one- register for his classes at any opportunity. He's a lenient grader that loves to talk with his students. But, if you'd rather sleep or use your phone he'll 100% just let you. Assignments were all online, took any late submissions as full credit, and he'd summarize the relevant info of readings for you. I enjoyed taking his class. He is a very chill profressor. He was very funny and made the class interesting. You have 8 classes you can miss but he is not very strict on it. Late work is good for 50% after a week but is understanding when needed. There are three main essays which he is neither a hard nor easy grader on them. Overall, easy and fun.

There is literally nothing negative to say about him, just take him asap don't miss the opportunity

Honestly, one of the best dual credit teachers I've made. He was very lenient, which allowed me to fully enjoy what we were reading instead of overstressing. I developed a love for reading from this class, which I can thank Professor Fletcher for. If you have the option to take one of his classes, I would 100% take it.

I liked his lectures and he gives a few extra credit opportunities. Does his best to make the class interesting. Gives a lot of freedom with assignments and great feedback.

This class had a decent amount of grades, most was from the textbook and book responses. There were around 4 essays (the longest one being 4-5 pages). There is quite a bit of class discussions and the professor will sometimes call on students to answer his questions (they're typically opinionated though, so don't stress about studying).

Loved this professor and would take him again. Has clear grading criteria and his classes are not boring, it's fun throughout the semester. I took him for spring 2024 and it was a cakewalk A for me. If you are good at English not great but good you can make your way out without worrying about this class.

Took over summer one. LOTS OF READING but most interesting. quiz, disc post, and assign. a week. Midterm&finale (multiple choice/open ended) and two projects. He takes a little while to grade (took the finale and still had 6 missing grades) He is nice and responsive to emails. Not too hard, but def dont procrastinate. You do need a huge textbook.

before taking this class i hated english so much. but professor fletcher actually changed my perspective on it so much! he lets you choose your own topics for all of the essays, and he gives you at least 2-3 weeks to finish them. the assignments are so easy. this is easily the easiest A i've gotten.

Professor Fletcher is lenient and funny! He grants students freedom by allowing them to choose their essay topics. Important to note that I did not see a rubric, therefore wiggle room for creativity is allowed. Attendance IS mandatory. He allows 8 absences, no questions asked, before auto-failing the class. Overall, I would recommend his class.

Pretty good professor overall. Took him Fall 2024. Jokes a lot (sometimes too much), but is definitely one of the better professors out there. Also, he's very accessible outside of class (even seen him staying after class on occasion), and he's fairly understanding if you miss a due date by a day or two. Definitely would take again in the future.

One of my favorites prof. I have had. Gave ample amount of time for essay's and was not a very hard grader. Likes to joke and talk which would occasionally distract from the material. Liked the amount of freedom for book reports and essay topics. Overall I would definitely recommend taking this class!

I took him for 1301 and 1302. He has assignments for around every 30 or so pages of the book (he gives you a list to choose from). You DO have to buy a textbook for both classes (1301&1302) and he has assignments that go with it. Overall he is amazing, gives you feedback when you want it, when he grades, he will give you feedback on Canvas too.
