Ryan's economic geography class was great! He did a really good job of using videos and discussions and stuff to balance out the lectures, but the lectures were usually very interesting too! Great teacher!
The climate change class was one of my best in college. I learned so much and Ryan obviously knows the material really well. I liked that it wasn't all just lectures but there were discussions and guest speakers too.
This is a great class, but beware the summer session. It's really intense because stuff keeps building on previous material every day. Still a good way to knock out your diversity credit, tho.
I had to take professional communications for engineers and he is a really helpful professor. The class is a pain with a lot of writing and group projects and a waste of time, but he doesn't make it that bad. No tests, just a lot of papers. I never read the textbook, no need to. Just make sure to go to class.
A nice guy but his workload is heavy and futile. He is an extremely tough grader who looks at minuscule details. What I thought would help boost my GPA was the most annoying and irrelevant class I took this semester. Good luck.
His assignments are graded hard. He does have office hours so come by and talk to him. Hoping for an A.
The class is time consuming, especially if you take it as the Honors course. However, the professor Good is amazing. He is always willing to help and to explain the material again. He has clear grading criteria and he's willing to discuss the grade if needed.
Best professor I've had at UF. Even though it was an online class he knew who I was and always responded to questions and tried to help as quickly as he could. Awesome teacher.
I enjoyed this class a lot but get ready to do a lot of work, especially if taken over the summer. He is always available to answer questions and clear any doubts you have in his assignments, even though he is very clear with his expectations from Day 1. Great class overall, definitely recommend if you are trying to get 6000 words
class is a lot of work writing wise, very nice guy & super helpful, papers will take lots of time. interesting information but didn't love the class overall.
This rating is strictly based on the professor. The class is fine not hard at all. The professor on the other hand, is rude and not personal at all. Although this is an online class, he still managed to come off as an entitled. After writing multiple papers, I was citing incorrectly and he never wrote to me saying that I was doing something wrong.
The professor is quite rude. He is a stickler for ridiculous details. You don't learn anything, just regurgitate the information he throws at you. If you have questions about the course you can email him, but he probably won't respond and if he does its probably in a rude or derogatory manner. Disappointed because UF usually has the best faculty :(
Online classes are frustrating especially during Covid. But Professor Good did everything he could to make this class useful and helpful. All the assignments had specific rubrics that told you exactly what it would be graded on, so if you pay attention to those it's an easy A. He always responded to questions quickly and kindly, too.
He's totally reasonable. There are 10 modules, a quiz and discussion in each module. Plus a film review, presentation, and exam at the end. You don't need to read, if you have a pulse you'll pass the quizzes. Nice guy and seems interested in helping students.
The class is structured with 10 modules (a quiz and discussion post for each), and there's a final paper and project that were both fun and interesting to do. This semester was really rough on me personally, and Professor Good was very accommodating and easy to reach. He responds quickly to emails and really cares about students' well-being.
Easy A. Mostly quizzes and discussions, one presentation video and an essay about a movie. He always replies to emails quickly and wants to help you understand.
terrible feedback. Professor had a lot of issues with grammar. Multiple occasions he took of huge chunks of points for grammatical errors that were correct... Very unprofessional, Like most UF professors who just think they can do whatever and say whatever to their students because they are "king." People with his mindset should not be professors.
The average grade in the class was a 95%. If you can follow directions on assignments and have apulse, his class is an easy A.
This guy sucks. Extremely harsh grader and very picky about your work. He gives you C's and says "good job on this". No thanks... take someone else.
Economic Geography was the best online class. A 200 word reflection each week, a couple discussions, an open book final, and really cool project, that's it. Awesome way to earn 6k words.
Covid has been really tough on me, but Dr. Good has gone out of his way to help and be flexible when I've had to miss class. I wish more professors were understanding and helpful like him.
Easy class. Only 2 assignments a week for 500 words, a presentation, and a final exam. Great way to get 6k word requirement out of the way!
Learned nothing from this course. This class is all based on reading books....
Take him for GEO3502 - some reflections every week but not very heavy - 2 hours a week max!
His class is easy if you do all the assignments. I took the class on summer b and the class was very fast paced. I recommend reading the textbook and do not procrastinate with the international issues essay.
I would not take this class again if I had the choice. The content was very boring which made me unmotivated to do the work. We had to read the textbook and watch all the lectures but you can find most of the information from the lectures. The professor didn't provide study guides for the quizzes and he didn't really help the students succeed tbh.
Dr. Good is a really good guy and the class is pretty easy. Sometimes I felt like some of the test questions were poorly worded but overall if you try you should get an A. I would recommend taking his class for the state core Gen Ed.
Be prepared to read and write a lot. Weekly mini essays, discussions, and readings. There is also a big essay towards the end of the semester. However, the class was not actually that bad, and the TAs were thorough with the feedback. 4 Exams and 5 quizzes (lowest quiz dropped) and a lot of opportunities for extra credit. Definitely recommend.
Very good and accessible teacher, very understanding to outside situation and provides lots of extra credit. Very knowledgeable in the subject and straight to the point. Highly recommend this class
A very nice guy and a good teacher with easy to understand lectures. Gave lots of extra credit and small group activities. Quizzes and exams weren't too difficult bc he allowed us to make a page of notes to use on the test. Information is very interesting to learn about.
Dr. Good is really good. I actually enjoyed learning abt the environment in his class. I must have met with him at least 7 times in the semester, and he was helpful every single time. The exams were hard and required some devoted thinking, but that page he lets you have is really helpful. I'd say the worse thing abt this course was the module preps
Nice professor, took the class cause it was required and UF did not accept my APES credit class was cake except for the exams which you have to put some effort into studying. Tbh you do not need the textbook at all its pretty much useless
I loved him as a professor and the class was very organized. Each week there was an assignment for the new module and every Friday there was a small group assignment in class. The quiz and exam questions came straight from the lectures and videos. Him and the TA's are always available for questions and very approachable. A very engaging professor.
(How to Lie with Maps) Great prof and great class! if you put in some effort you will never have to worry about your grade. the book could be boring at times but the discussions were always interesting. changed a lot of my opinions and assumptions! highly recommend!
This is supposed to be a gen ed class but he teaches it like you are majoring in environmental science (no one is majoring in that lmao). He and his TA are so incredibly stringent when it comes to APA formatting. Even when you do everything right they will find some bs thing to mark you off for. Way too much time spent on this bs class.
Taking this class, as a humanities major, eased my nerves as the workload is manageable. During the summer, there are no quizzes so you only have to worry about the 3 exams and an essay. Exams are almost entirely from the lecture videos, and extra credit is always offered and easy to obtain. Just make sure you know how to cite in APA!
If you have taken APES, this class is extremely easy to pass. Remember to cite everything taken from an outside course. If you need anything, don't hesitate to reach out to the professor. It's not worth buying/renting the textbook. Just watch all the lectures and the videos provided in the course and take notes on them. There is extra credit
This professor and ESPECIALLY his TAs show little regard for anything in this class. They make it seem like this is a 4000-level course when it is just an intro course. It seems like when the TA grades an assignment, their goal is to make you lose points rather than gain any, with their policy on APA formatting, when in other classes it is fine.
This class is easily the biggest catfish I have ever experienced. The prof or TAs must be flooding these ratings themselves bc idk how he has a 4.4/5 rating currently. If you read the good reviews closely it truly sounds like Ryan Good. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS.This class is the hardest ever, it is NOT a gen ed. Ryan and the TAs should be fired asap!!
If you are reading this, please do not take class with Dr.Good. My experience with this class has been so horrible and drastically affected my mental health. He does not care about his students. The TAs are so passive aggressive! Please stay away!! Please! The workload is a ton. Do not , and I mean do not do it.
DO NOT TAKE AS AN EASY A. Hardest class I have taken at UF. Tests are impossibly hard for no reason and going to lectures does not help. If you need a science course take any other class.
Dr. Good knows a lot about the content and is helpful. The TAs are horrible. They grade terribly, nitpick everything, and are passive aggressive. You better learn APA format. Tests are a joke. This is supposed to be an INTRO class. Cried many times over this class. Take a different course if you are in need of a Gen-Ed science course.
Thought it was going to be easy since I passed the apes exam. It isn't too difficult, but exams are difficult with a lot of variations for answers. He provides extra credit thankfully. Wasn't prepared to write so much as there were 500 essays due every Monday, but you get used to them. TAs grade essays harshly. 1 exam drop should help bump grade.
I've never had a worse experience in a class. DO NOT TAKE EVR2001. The TAs are TERRIBLE and extremely strict graders. You could use a perfect APA citation, and they would still say its wrong and give you an F. Tests are multiple-choice but cover a wide range and depth of topics. Reviews are useless and no practice questions are given. DO NOT TAKE.
The professors of this class are clearly knowledgeable and most of the lectures weren't terrible (altho we did spend a couple classes learning how great fracking is, kinda weird). But the TAs will always look for something to take points off for on writing and give 0s for the dumbest things. I've never seen a stricter class with APA format.
Professor Good was awesome! I large portion of your grade comes from assignments: learning checkpoints (350-500 word essay) and a end of module discussion (essay). As long as you complete these assignments weekly, you will succeed in the course. Tests aren't bad. Recommend the course for easy gen-ed
I took his Intro to Environmental Science online course, and while the class was effective, it was boring with lots of work. Every week it would be 3-10 lecture videos, a checkpoint (350-500 words) and a discussion post, minimum. One of his TAs graded fairly, but the other one docks you for everything. Lots of small assignments.
Extra credit and weekly assignments so I was able to pull a B on all 3 exams and still get an A in the class. Final is optional since they drop your lowest exam grade. Rubrics are clear and it's easy to get 100s on every assignment (need to do a good bit of studying for exams but you're allowed a cheat sheet). Good gen ed for non-stem majors.
Professor Good is such a kind man. He genuinely cares about his students and wants them to do well. He's very flexible and understanding. Lectures can be a bit boring but the exams come from the lectures. A lot of assignments and extra credit helped boost my grade. Exams were actually hard and concept-driven. Be sure to know your APA for homework
Don't let the bad reviews scare you, it's not that bad. The stuff about the TAs is true tho. They've always been nice to me but are weirdly strict with grading hw it was annoying. The prof himself tho is so nice he's been super caring when I'm sick and is rly sweet! But the exams are unnecessarily hard too but he's got a lot hw and exc that helps!
If you're looking for an easy science credit, keep looking. The TAs horrendous; they grade unfairly, illogically, and harshly. How could one be so stern about plagiarism and APA format, yet copy and paste every comment they make? Also, exams are hard, testing info not covered in lectures. But Dr. Good is kind. His extra credit always comes in clutch
Professor Good is a nice guy and knowledgeable about the topic. However, one of his TAs was easily my biggest problem this semester. Unnecessarily stringent grading. Will give 0s and deduct points for basically anything. Alexis the TA was passive-aggressive. Our 15-point assignments were graded like thesis papers. Exams were hard.
This class isn't as bad as everyone says. The rubrics for assignments are very specific so follow those and use a citation machine and you will easily score well. The tests were a bit harder, with some ultra specific references to lectures, but so much extra credit is given I got Bs on the tests and still have an A. You can also drop a test/final.
Dr. Good is a very considerate teacher. The problem is his class. The tests are hard, using "A & B" and "A, B, & C" / "All of above" and "None of above" choices for practically every question on each exam. They give enough extra credit, but the unclearness makes it difficult. You cannot afford to make mistakes, which makes this NOT an easy A.
Overall, not a hard class. I will say the exams are tough and ask a lot of specifics so watch out for that. Dr.Good is really nice in giving a lot of extra credit opportunities. Watch out on scoring low on the lecture videos because they will eat ur grade at the end of the semester. Take this class if u want an easy gen Ed/ science credit
Tbh his class def had a good bit of writing. As long as you know how to write in APA, you'll be fine. The TAs are kinda annoying especially when it comes to grading, so def go by the rubric. He gives extra cred too. Also the final is optional, but I would recommend taking it; it was easier than the exams. Make sure to read the textbook!
This class is very manageable if you follow the rubric very specifically for each assignment and understand APA. The grading is done solely by the TAs and they can be sticklers so stick to the rubric. The tests are probably the hardest aspect of this class with the questions being hyper-specific.
One of the worst classes I have taken at UF! The material is supposed to be easy but he makes it unnecessarily hard, with a lot of homework and lectures that are long for no reason. MANY writing assignments that are graded by awful TAs. Exams are very hard because the questions are SUPER specific. Would not recommend to complete the science credit.
The professor gives good lectures. However, there are 300-500 word essays every week, a few discussion posts, and several extra credit opportunities. Tests are difficult, but you're allowed a one-page note sheet. Your lowest test grade is also dropped, which means you can skip the final if you want to. The textbook isn't necessary, but it's helpful
Dr. Good is a very good professor. He is extremely knowledgeable, gives plenty of extra credit, and definitely cares about his students. The TA's are terrible, mine gave me a 58 on an essay and the response said I hit all sections of the rubric but didn't explain things well enough. He also grades homeworks like final exams for a PhD class.
This was the worst class I have taken at UF. This class is so much harder than it needs to be. The exams are very difficult and super specific and he is not flexible at all. The grading in this class was extremely harsh, I did a whole project that took hours, but forgot one in text citation and got a 0 and it tanked my grade. The TA's are AWFUL.
For some reason, there isn't a tag for IDS2935, which is the Quest 2 class Why Maps Matter. This is probably one of the most enjoyable classes I've taken so far. Dr. Good was incredibly kind and made the class fun and interesting without making it overly difficult. The exams are very doable and he provides you with study guides for each one.
He is a very nice guy and very understanding. Was annoying having to write small papers every week, but TAs gave good feedback. Just follow the rubric and cite correctly. Exams are medium difficulty. Lots of extra credit coppertunites.
As the name implies, Dr. Good is very good! EVR2001 is a very cumbersome class, but Dr. Good was clear & direct in communicating via Canvas. Additionally, the assignments were very enriching and lent themselves to a broader understanding of the class. However, I would have appreciated more feedback on assignments. Great class and great professor!
So many assignments which were strictly graded and heavy on APA format. Exams allowed a sheet of notes and the lowest of the 4 dropped but were very specific and expected you to memorize random facts from the textbook. Very tedious class took up too much time for a gen ed. Butthere were many extra credit opportunities and he is a very kind prof.
Forgot to quote one thing on a 20 POINT ASSIGNMENT and he reported me and tanked my grade from an A to a B-. Super unfair and unforgiving.
This class is the perfect gen ed. If you go to class and take notes, the exams are easy. He allows a full sheet of notes, and the study guide is critical. He is a tough grader, especially in regards to citing in APA, but if you look at the rubric you'll be fine. Mini papers as reflections each week, but this class is interesting and an easy A.
The class is very straightforward. You just watch the lectures and do the weekly assignment. The exams aren't that hard as long as you study for a couple hours. He also offers extra credit throughout. Beware as he is very strict on citations but I've never had a problem with it.
He's very passionate about the topic and teaching. LOTS of extra credit opportunities, if you do them all you'll be fine even if you don't do super well on exams. Exams suck, about 50 mc questions that are sometimes pretty specific or worded weird- you do get to use one sheet of notes. Optional final. Weekly reflection essays. Mandatory attendance.
Dr.Good is the best professor I had this semester. He really cares about his students' learning and will go out of his way to help. He will always answer questions via email or office hours. There is lot's of extra credit opportunities, and if you do the work, the class is an easy A. Highly recommend taking Dr. Good's class, he's an amazing teacher
Professor Good is an amazing professor who works with his students. I only took this class for the Gen-Ed credit, but it was very manageable/organized. There are 3 exams + a final exam, but he drops your lowest exam grade. He also gives many extra credit opportunities and weekly reflection assignments so the exams are not the weight of the class.
A areat professor who's passionate abt the env! Open to questions during office hours, vry clear on what's expected on assignments (be sure to follow the rubric on the weekly reflections), lots of EC, ~2 hrs of lecture a week (exams are heavily based on these). Overall a vry engaging class (with fun virtual field trips too). Youll learn a lot!
Tests are heavily based on the lectures, but he posts them so you always have access. Don't waste your money on the textbook. While it was helpful for studying, the lectures and notes were enough. Lots of EASY extra credit. One 800-word essay and weekly reflections that are 300-500 words. Highly recommend taking this class.
Overall this class wasn't bad, but the exams were hard and stressful. Though it is helpful that he will drop one. Most weeks you will also have to write a reflection of 350-500 words. Take advantage of the extra credit. It will help you so much and is pretty easy.
I had a great experience this semester with Dr. Good. He is very knowledgable and runs the class in a way that is very straightforward. All you have to do in order to be successful in EVR2001 is follow directions on assignments, especially with regards to citing. Lots of extra credit is offered and Dr. Good is always happy to answer questions.
I got an A in this class with a 67% exam average. I found the exams extremely difficult and the questions were so random. I got an A because I got 60 pts of extra credit. Prof good is really nice and puts a lot of effort into his lectures. Attendence is mandatory so make sure you're prepared to go to every class, otherwise your grade will suffer.
The exams can be very specific but he provides so much extra credit it's hard to not pass the class with an A or B. There are weekly assignments and you will get a 0 if you don't cite or cite incorrectly past a certain module so just make sure you cite correctly in apa format.
AVOID AT ALL COST!! This guy is the worst professor I had at UF, he's not empathetic at all towards students who bring up personal concerns to him and he's very full of himself. He can also be rude 1-1. Spare yourself!
He does not care about you as a student, he seemed nice at first but he truly is not and does not care if you have had something happen. He is very malicious, he purposely likes to gives attendance quizzes when there is not a lot of people to tank your grade. If he wanted to do those, he should have made his class an attendance mandatory class.
Take good notes because the quizzes often have random questions about facts from the lecture. Lots of extra credit, though, so as long as you do all of the assignments, it's easy to get a high A. Dr. Good is very passionate about the topics. Lectures can be kind of boring though so come caffeinated. TAs are relatively easy graders.
I took EVR 2001 for a science credit and it was so easy. Professor Good was super nice and chill. We had quizzes about once every 2 weeks that you get to bring a full page of notes to, but no tests. There isn't a lot of homework; just reflection assignments about once a week that are usually easy and one 1000 word essay at the end.
So recommend this class if you need to take it, especially online. Super easy, Dr. Good was great and pretty much wants you to pass. Lecture videos are simple and same with assignments, heavy on citations but was easy to learn, exams weigh more but he drops the lowest one, and offers a lot of extra credit. Truly do recommend.
If you need a science to complete the state gen ed requirement, I would recommend this one! I was initially hesitant reading some reviews, but the class is very manageable. The exams are honestly the most stressful part, but there is a ton of extra credit and the lowest score is dropped. I recommend reading the lecture transcripts to study.
Theres a lot of lectures but they are not long and there is one reflection assignment a week which took about an hour on average for each. The exams were tough but I still got an A with a 70% avg on exams because he gives so much extra credit. If you need a Gen Ed science for sure take this one.
My exam average was a 66% in the class but there is so much extra credit that I still ended with a 92%. Weekly lecture videos that were a little boring to me, but I don't really like science. Lowest exam gets dropped and you can have a page of notes for exam. Just do all of the work and all of the extra credit and you will be fine.
If you need this for a gen ed science I recommend. No exams just quizzes, lowest one dropped. Weekly assignments that took me less than an hour each. I was sick a few times and Dr. Good was very accommodating to me and excused me from attendance quizzes and assigned me the lectures online. Lectures can go a little slow sometimes, but it's not bad.
dr. good is nice and willing to go over questions if you go to office hours. exams are pretty hard, but you're allowed a one-page cheat sheet and the lowest score is dropped. there are typically 5-10 lecture videos and a slightly time-consuming 350+ word reflection each week. do ALL of the extra credit opportunities!! they're what will get you an A
Overall a great professor, he is very lenient by allowing a drop on the lowest quiz and weekly reflection. It is not difficult to get an A as long as you attend all his lectures, pay attention and know how to use APA citations in all reflections. His quizzes sometimes ask more niche things that he mentions, but there is a lot of extra credit.
Good prof, easy A. Just go to class cuz he does a couple attendance quizzes. Tons of extra credit. Get one notes sheet for each quiz.
Dr.Good is more than just 'good', he's fantastic. He does everything in his power to help students succeed. He's extremely open about office hours and possible absences. Other than a weekly reflection assignment which ranges from discussions on documentaries to 300 word essays, the class is relaxed and enriching. This man is amazing.
You could tell he was a Professor who is really passionate and loves what he does; he teaches in a way that's easy to understand. There is a lot of assignments but they're not bad and we also get 1 page of notes for each test. He asked for a textbook but you don't really need it. Everything you need to know he goes over in class.
EVR2001 class is pretty straightforward without too many surprises. Attendance is necessary and there are quizzes every other week or so. The professor is understanding and lectures aren't too bad.
Dont take this class. The lectures are easy to follow but the reflection assignments and tests are graded unnecessarily harsh for a gen ed science class. Make one mistake on citing and you get a zero on an assignment that counts a lot toward your overall grade.
Professor Good was a very good teacher for evr2001. its basically impossible to fail bc of all the extra credit, dropped grades, and allows a full page cheat sheet on the exams. Just follow along with the lectures and you'll be completely fine. He can be a little rude if you ask a "stupid" question, but other then that would recommend for gen ed.
When I was in the class I hated it because I am not a science person. I just took this for my state core gen ed. My quiz average was a 79 but I still ended with a 97 in the class because of extra credit and Taylor (the TA) was an easy grader. Material seems annoying at times but it is actually a very easy class and easy to get an A in.
Dr. Good was extremely caring about the class, he starts the lectures on time and is passionate about teaching environmental science. He gives ample opportunities to raise your grade if you have missed something. Overall, EVR2001 was an extremely light course and is a great class to take if you need a science credit and have a heavy schedule.
Dr. Good was a very good teacher and gave out some interesting and fun assignments to go along with each module, just hope you get lucky and get a TA that isn't a stickler on grading like I got.
Why Maps Matter was one of my favorite classes at UF. Dr. Good and the TAs are very understanding and lenient and help often. Definitely recommend
Class was easy and an easy A. However, the TAs do not properly grade your assignments, as numerous assignments I was marked off 10+ points for not answering a part of a question when it was obviously answered in the text, demonstrating the TA's don't read your assignment and grade arbitrarily.
Dr. Good is the type of teacher who is obsessed with "catching AI users/cheaters" so much so that he falsely accuses students and makes them go though month long processes to resolve the problem that isn't even theirs. It is a grueling process and puts even more stress on people than school itself. Do not recommend taking this class.
He is a racist. He cannot consider things by himself and will pay more attention if u have some “ records “ before. Even you don't use AI or anything, he will push you to admit you are using AI but you are not. The worst teacher I have never met before.
Dont take his class
Dr. Good is the type of teacher who is obsessed with "catching AI users/cheaters" so much so that he falsely accuses students and makes them go though month long processes to resolve the problem that isn't even theirs. It is a grueling process and puts even more stress on people than school
This is an excellent professor who clearly communicates with his students. For the Weekly Reflections and the Capstone Essay, follow the rubric as literally as possible. For the exams, go through the lectures as you make your study guide before you take them. Ignore the malicious reviews. I ended with a 103 in an online month-long mini-mester.
Great professor who responds to questions almost instantly! My TA was tough and took off a ridiculous amount of points for APA citations, but with the extra credit and points for watching lectures and doing tests, I still ended with a high A. Follow the rubrics exactly for all of the writing assignments, and you should be fine.
Worst class ever do not take. Such harsh grading. Better off taking oceanography.
DO NOT TAKE. THIS CLASS IS AWFUL. the TA's are the so strict and terrible. Get falsely accused of cheating even if you DID NOT do it putting you through months process of terrible stress. DO NOT TAKE.
Dr. Good is an average professor. You can tell he is passionate about what he teaches and is for the most part helpful and friendly on most days. Most of the class is actually online but you do classwork in-person. The TAs however are a NIGHTMARE if you get the wrong one, grading can be SUPER harsh for an intro class if you're unlucky. Flip a coin.
The class was very easy and informative, but still stressful due to the pressures around properly citing sources and submitting things exactly as requested. An good online 3 credit class, but your experience depends on your TA, as while mine was extremely nice, I have heard others were very knit-picky.
I have heard some of the TA's are very harsh graders in this course, but I got lucky with a less strict TA. You are allowed one paper full of notes for every quiz (there are 6 honor lock quizzes) and they are not too bad if you study. Your experience with this course ultimately depends on the TA you get so it's a bit of a gamble.
The TAs for this course are harsh graders. Dr Good is kind and you can tell her cares about his students.
The in-person classes are boring and pretty much useless since he uses an inverted classroom model for class as well as attendance is mandatory which sucks, but you get 3 excused classes at the end of the semester. Other than that, it's clear Dr. Good cares about his students and if you do his weekly extra credit, you'll end up with an A easily.
Professor makes the class very easy, as long as you do the extra credit you will get an A. TA's are strict on grading assignments, but as long as you do extra credit it doesn't matter. No final exam just six quizzes with a cheat sheet allowed that are very straight forward. Sometimes a little rude, but overall he is pretty nice and understanding.
.Recommend this class online, but your grade depends on getting a lenient TA. Do the extra credit assignments, they really help. Weekly lecture videos are easy to follow and textbook annotations but the annotations can be unnecessarily long. Assignments never took me too long, and the quizzes allow cheat sheets.
The quizzes are too specific and should focus more on the concepts, not on particular numbers or facts. They explain the concepts very well and understand if they need extensions on deadlines. TA can be picking, but not too bad overall.
Such a hard grader, wouldn't respond to my emails ever, he never helped me and would never let me get credit for an assignment a day late.
Points for attendance everyday helped my grade a lot. If you do all the extra credit and actually watch the online lectures it is pretty easy to do well. However he is out to catch anyone using AI and will accuse people with little evidence.
Lowk I should have gotten an A. So much extra credit. But if u turn in something one minute late it's like an auto C on that assingment. Just do the work and you should be good. No exams.
Made this intro class meant for non-majors way harder than it needed to be. You'll be learning mostly on your own through lecture videos and textbook chapters. The quiz content could be extremely specific and not always align with the study guide, making it difficult to know what to study. He at least seems passionate about environmental science.
This class is flipped classroom where you learn from textbook annotations and watching videos and in class you do pointless assignments, making coming to class feel pointless, but its part of your grade so you have to go. The TA is also really picky about citations and takes a lot of points for mistakes. He does give a good amount of extra credit.
