If possible, do not take this professor unless you are proficient at the skill of teaching yourself an entire course. Calculus 2 is already considered to be one of the more difficult math courses and Ryan makes it infinitely more so by under preparing his students. He is a nice guy, but not a good professor to say the least.

Professor Hansen is a very nice guy. He tries to make himself as accessible to students as possible. You won't do well in Calculus 2 with Ryan as your professor unless you put in time out of class. Read and take notes out of the book before lecture and do the suggested book problems. This is the key to success in this class.

However, he's pretty low on the totem pole in the math department and it shows.

Hansen is a nice guy but his teaching style really didn't mesh with me. I felt like he did a poor job of explaining things and many times instead of teaching he would hand out a worksheet. Another thing about the course I didn't like was Hansen missed/left my class and left thing up to his TA who in my opinion was not ready to teach on her own.

Terrible teacher. Doesnt actually teach anything. He gives out worksheets and expects you to know how to do it. Dont recommend.
