He doesn't explain the material in clearly and there are only four tests. He doubles your highest grade in place of a 5th test. He's arrogant, egotistical, and thinks he's hot cuz he rides a motorcycle. He's bored with the material and it shows in how he teaches the class.
He's alright. You can tell that he's really not interested in what he's teaching and that he would rather be doing something else. He's funny and he's nice, but he just seems frustrated with everything in general.
He's the easiest econ teacher. Although his lectures are a bit tedious and boring, his tests are straight forward. get ready for a lot of studying even tho he lets you use a cheat cheat on the test. he has available tutor hours which you should totally take advantage of
He is very easy, and is willing to help before or after class if needed. He also had tutoring hours when you can ask him for help. Multiple Choice tests.. 5 tests, drops the lowest grade AND doubles the highest. His lectures are extremely boring - just read the book instead.
He is a good and easy teacher. I more recommnd read the textbook before go to class, so you can just make notes by hight light in the text book. He is really funny and willing to help. He give you Multiple Choice tests and drop the lowest one...it is really good.
Reading the book before class is a must otherwise the material is hard to understand. He does do a good job in explaining, but the matirail is hard. His test are the hardest multiple choice I ever had. Read the book and pay attention in class and the class is easy.
The thought of taking Economics scared me but Prof. Keep has made the class interesting. He has a lot of enthusiasm for the subject. He gives great examples of how economics relates to us personally. He expects students to do their part. Read the book. His multiple choice questions are right out of the textI look forward to ECON 1B with Prof Keep.
Prof.keep is a very good prof, he's lecture is clear and easy to understand. i
There's 3 take home test out of 5 tests, where can u find it elsewhere? really look forword his 1B
Prof Keep is a good prof. He's able to connects with his students. His reluctancy to design a scheme to fail students is amicable. Students' participation in his class is astronomically high. Most students seem to enjoys his lectures; he conveys the materials unambiguous and articular. I think may be I could get something out of this course after a
This professor is very good and easy going. He makes the class fun, so i never wanted to miss his class. He helps students with giving extra points for every test by letting us did some extra works that are easy. looking forward for the ECON 1b. :)
Not bad. Explain well. There are 3 in class tests and 2 take home tests. Take home tests are OK, but in class tests are hard. Read the text carefully. Drop lowest score. No homework.
He loves what he teaches!
This teacher is new in teaching career. He teaches the class only by reading the notes on projector. He is not very clear in the class and he is not helpful. He is very strick for the late comers. Even 5 minutes late, he will still mark you late, and sometimes he take attendance too early....
He is irresponsible because beginning of the semester, he said he would curve, but end of the semester, he said he would NOT curve. Tests are NOT easy and NOT an easy A because of no curve.
Professor Keep is young and positive, he explains textbook very detail, and often talks about current economy, makes the class interesting. His home tests are very helpful, learned a lot. He drops the lowest test. He also teaches 1 B, I will take it.
He is mean and his lecture is not clear. He just reads his notes. His tests are not easy. Also he says "visit ratemyprofessors and rate me at high rate, so that I can get a full time job." Don't take him. You should take KESKINEL in 1A and LAMAR or Kim in 1B. Their personalities are nice and lectures are clear.
He gets an "A" for effort but he... doesn't teach well. He sometimes makes things interesting but is unclear and only skims the surface, I learned more in Econ 1A with Prof. McLean. The stuff Keep teaches are small fries compared to what McLean teaches; it isn't the easiest class but he is more clear and knows the subject better.
He teaches clearly and helpful. Overall, he is easy and one of the best professor. I would rather take him again in Econ 1B than taking Professor Kim because Keep can explain the material very well.
awsome.take him...i got an A ..very easy
Gees~He is really good!! very helpful! make the economic seems easy and interesting! not a "nice" guy~but rather a very cool professor~easy tests too! I will definitely recommand him...! one of the best professors in PCC...take him!!!!!!!!!!
He's a cool professor, gives good lectures. hopefully, he will raise my grade up to A cause i am getting 88 percent in his class. he is a good teacher.
I like his class because all of the tests are multiple choice, and we have take home test. His tests not easy, but unless you can guess it. He pretends he's a mean teacher begin of the semester, but sometimes he's pretty nice. I think he doesn't like the students ask him questions after class. I got A, so I still recomend take his class.
Professor Keep is awesome. I first came into the class clueless and disinterested about econ.Took his class in winter and I've still been able to retain the material he covered!! Keep plays tough, but I think somewhere inside...he has a soft heart.Tests aren't easy. Take home exam we took was difficult; however, they are doable...
Professor Keep is a great teacher. He makes jokes in his lectures to keep it interesting and is interactive with students. As long as you pay attention during class and read alittle, you should have no problems getting an A.
Professor Keep is a great teacher. He is very enthusiastic about teaching the subject, and keeps the students interested by using real life situations and cracking jokes in the lectures. I feel that he puts himself in the students shoes. He's a really cool teacher, but he also expects things in return from the students. I strongly recommend him.
great teacher!!!!!! he is able to connect economy with real life issue, which makes u understand more about the concept.
Does not mess around. From day one, Mr. keep gets down to the business of teaching economics. He is efficient, knows his subject extremely well and deserves a permanent teaching spot at PCC.
Professor Keep show us the text book Economist way of looking at the material, while also correlating it with real world situations that all of the students could familiarize with. Now I know why my friend is a construstion worker making $23 plus an hour and I'm in still in school, it's cause his job still sucks! Compensation pay mofos! Thanks.
Before I took this class, I already tried taking other econ classes but dropped them because I didn't like the teacher. Keep's class was the first one I kept, and I'm glad I did. All teachers should be like him; he knows his stuff and is good at teaching it too. He draws the concepts out so well that if you still don't get it, you need help.
Mr. Keep is a great example of the quality teaching that PCC needs. He actually shows passion in teaching with enthusiasm every day. He is cool and laid back, but his class can get quite challenging. However, if you put in the effort, you will do fine. Note: He is never late/absent, and participate in class because you will be recognized!
Prof. Keep is a great teacher. RECOMMENDED!
Professor Keep is a very great teacher to have. If you have questions he will try his best to help you. He know his subject well, always prepared to class. He's very leaning on the grade.
His test is hard, but he can always help on that. His teaching is humorousand and interesting. Consider before u take his class! 'cause he really requires study!
He's a very good teacher. He's good at explaining the materials. I am amazed by how many students attempting to take him in spring. I'm glad that I took him in winter. His tests are not easy at all, you have to study and read the book thoroughly to understand the concepts. Take him, recommended!!! I got an A.
Keep is the easiest Econ Professor at PCC. He gives you take home test and in class test. No homework so your grade is just based on test. Take him he's easy, I got an A.
I agree! he does not know how to teach well. He is a new teacher, not experienced. He was not very helpful when you ask him.. Not a good choice of teacher.
HE IS A GOOD TEACHER. ALL HE CONCERNS IS ABOUT WHAT YOU'VE LEARND BUT NOT YOUR GRADE. HE ALWAYS HELP THE STUDENTS. HE IS NICE.
I say hes a really great teacher, No Hes not mean. Yes his test are hard, but all his notes are straight out of the book. His lectures are fun and he always tryes to keep your attention. And one thing that he does that most others wont, is he uses what we learn and applies it to the Real World, through different examples. So I say Take Him!
He is funny but the material is a little hard. If you read and take notes you'll do fine. His tests are on the notes so don't miss class.
The material is hard, but he tries to make it easy. All tests are MC and three of five are take-home tests. But the bad new is you have to explain all 50 questions. The problem is I think he doesn't focus on every key point very much. Likes to talk something he thinks it's interesting.
I object the claim that his class is easy. NOT EASY AT ALL! But he is a GREAT TEACHER along with Oberlander (STAT 50) & Raddon (BUS 9) I've met in PCC. He has take-home tests but they r not easy at all. All the answers must be written with the details. He really wanna make us know what Econamic is! What's more, his speech is really funny! Take him!
Mr. Keeps attitude trough the entire semester stinks. But I must admit He is the Greatest Economics Teacher I have ever had. Of course, the material is hard. But he also does give out some take home test, it helps a lot, because it makes you really study the material. The take home test helped me get an "A" in the class.
Professor Keep is someone who cares about his students and wants them to learn the material very well. He uses different techniques to do that, some say its hard, the material is hard, however his skill of applying the material to real life situations is great and helps students understand it easier and remember. Prof.Keepshouldbeafulltimeteacher
he is a really cool teacher, he made economics become interesting, u can get an A if u put some effort. the best teacher for economics.
yeah~ right. he's class is easy to get an A. but he is so mean and sarcastic. moreover, he is not clear and helpful. u know what he said? "dont ask me a stupid thing!" i wanted to take lamar, i dont know why they changed schedule!! what he always do is "im right you are not!" he doesnt know how to teach. AND TAKE HOMES ARE SO ANNOYING!!
He is nice and esay. I guess 95% of students get A for both 1A and 1B. However, don't recommend for Econ major strongly.
???
pretty easy.. 1A during spring semester and 1B during winter intersession. was able to do well in both with minimal reading. I thought winter was easier, because he was more lenient. fair & nice guy (slightly annoying with sarcasms) gave EC!
I like the fact that he is cynical and sarcastic. It makes the class more interesting. Although the subject itself may be hard and confusing at times, he uses more relative examples to help us understand. I actually failed the first exam, but that doesnt mean I didnt learn anything in his class.
The worst teacher I have ever had. If you notice this too, drop him before it's too late, he is totally on a power trip and unless you comply to his ideas, he will do his best to humiliate you. Take home tests and multiple choice. He asks for a lot from his students, but he sucks at teaching so, it's up to you. If you're up for this, good luck!
don't like this professor.
Hes TERRIBLE. I dont get why ppl say hes easy. His tests are ridiculously hard and his grading scale is totally absurd. Stay away, if you want an easy A take Bastani.
Very cool and seems to really care.
Keep is a good person who seems a superman, he speaks loudly and loudly, but he is no experience in teaching cuz he is too young. He has a poor quality in teaching is not because he do not know how students can accept the tons of knoweldge in his lecture. Also, he talks more and more in class and students is less to participate in this class. bad!
He is a great professor. He is fun and makes economics interesting. Take home tests takes a long time but it helps you to have a good grade.
I never talk in any class that i took previously, but for some reason i spoke a lot in his class. Class was fun and interesting, i've never been so focus in class and not lazy. if it wasnt for take home exams i dont think i would pass the class w/ an A or not pass at all but i did. =D Great Professor!!!
I took his class during the Summer and was able to pass with an A! He talks a lot... but if you really listen then you will understand! I never had to read the book! His notes had most of the answers! His take home test are very time consuming but if you gather up a group and complete it together its not bad! The take home test take about 15 hr. =D
he starts off as a super mean guy, but get cooler into the semster, he gives the options of how many tests u guys want to take, pick the 5 test, he drops the lowest test score and gives take home test, come on a take home test, how easy can things get, buts it takes like 20 hours to finish, there is no reason y u should a an A on every test, takehim
This guy is a stud. One of them love them or dislike them type of teacher. More often then not, you'll love him because he can relate to college life. Very straightforward. If you do the time, you'll get the grade!!!!
Keep cares about the subject and his students. The take home tests are an extremely helpful tool in learning the material correctly and thoroughly, eventhough they take a long time to complete. He is helpful and pragmatic. Read what is on this site, a couple of people ****, but the vast majority enjoyed his class and learned the material.
Lectures worse than book, but real life apps are great! Work hard:expect a B, maybe an A. On the other hand, sit in the back, never show to class, but get your hands on old tests or friends with answers>>A. For this reason, its the most annoying/frustrating class I have taken. Or wait, thats just the real world, right Prof Keep?...so glad thats over
great teacher actually wants you. To learn
They say economists have all the answers. Well Ryan Keep certainly does. He gets you thinking in a rational, practical way. You will have a better understanding of how the world works, and a newfound respect for hardworking people after taking his class. We need more people like Keep cause he Keeps it real.
Graph, Graph, Graph! If you pay attention about the economics theories and study (and apply) the graphs he draw on the board you'll get an A. (If you can use the graph yourself...) A Hard Working and Fair professor. Take home exams make this class an easy one because so many of my classmates copy each other. What's the point of going to college!??
keep is cool. Lecture is mostly based on textbook but he keeps it interesting and funny. Always come prepared and energetic. Take home tests are easy but takes longer than you think. You really learn more on the take homes than the in class tests. Looks mean but really a nice guy. Why take anyone else?
He's a cool teacher to take with.Allows take home test, but don't underestimate it,it take TIME to finish it.(Ans can be found in txtbk. Not easy, but not hard as well.Try to work yourself,Or its a waste of his time teaching.Accept opinions about himself, willing to change to the best.Overall, Interesting class to take.I'll give him an A!!Thanks Keep
a fair grader, very clear lecture. Young and energetic. Gave 2 take home tests throughout the semester(great chance to improve your grade). Very smart professor who likes to get students involved in class. Got 87.9 at the end but was given a A(Nice!)
keep is a very nice guy, his notes was clearly ,class was funny, I really appreecite his extra credit, thank you ,keep~
very good teacher! i m sure u will learn a lot in this class, not only from book but also from Keep's teaching.
He is the best econ teacher ever!! The lecture is really clear and easy to understand. His tests may be difficult if you don't study.
A interesting teacher, who does not use textbook, notes goes fast. Recommond taking with textbook for his class. Tests are not too hard, all multphy choice tests. Take him.
I was anxious prior to taking this class.he is an awesome teacher! His lectures are VERY clear and his practice tests help so much. If you read the chapters and study from practice tests, you'll do fine. this class has been the most informative and worthwhile class. You will walk out of class knowig that you have learned and gained something.he's br
I definitely agree that this professor has changed his plan. There were no more take home tests and lots of home work (key questions)on every chapter. Only one third of class left before mid term. 3 in class tests 60 questions They are hard and tricky even he gives us pre tests questions. He uses inappropriate language in class.
I love this class. His lecture is clear and he is helpful when you need him. Eventhough test seems tricky; if study, it will not be a problem. Overall, this class is fun and really intersting. He knows his stuff very well and well prepared. I like the way he teach. He is awesome.
Subject is difficult, but he makes it interesting. Attendance is not mandatory but you might miss EC. 3 in-class MC exams were tough-you must study. Runs his class like a drill sergeant but his bark is worse than his bite. Rounds grade up if you work hard. In the end he was very fair (open book final). Great teacher! Take him before he leaves PCC!
One of the greatest professors at PCC. Econ 1A was the best class that I have taken at PCC. He is straight forward to the pt. Studying is a must if you want to pass his class, but he does help you along the way. I got an A. Will be taking him again for ECON1B.
Clear Lecture's! Hard Tests! and Great/Interesting Teaching Style! Thats basicly him. Overall Good Teacher. Not an Easy A, but not the Failing type either! Try and you will pass, Try Hard = B, If your Math is Calculus or higher, then maybe an A. Take him, hes the Best PCC has to offer. Im Mexican, I sat in the Back and I Passed. TRUST! NO REGRETS
I thought our professor was good as guessing but he was wrong because i got an A with sitting in the back. He must make sure while he is lecturing everyone must quite. The problem is he let those couple speak which is really distrubing the rest of the clss. Test is MC and only 3 test. no extr.a credit but if you got 85% or > then you got an A. Than
Teacher makes subject interesting, but class is not easy. Many students drop the class after the 1st test. You must at least read the book to pass the class. Otherwise, it is very difficult to get A, hard to get B but attainable to get C. Total of 3 Exams.
This professor is awesome! he uses analogies that we will want to listen to! he is funny & gets straight to the point.
Mr. Keep is the best Econ professor in PCC and a fair grader. His lecture is crystal clear and interesting. Although there are no take-home tests anymore, he still allows a cheating paper for our tests. Reading the book and doing pretest will help you to prepare the test well. If you heard that his class is not good as the past, which is an absolut
He is OK, his tests are not that hard if you read the text book thoroughly and study hard for the test. Trust me, this is not a class for someone who does not do any works.
This guy doesn't know how to teach. he only talks about this current economics, but not cover the book fully. Most of the time is waste because he like talking about something funny rather than teach us how to do on the test. WASTE WASTE WASTE A LOT OF TIME. He only has 2 tests and 1 final. When u fail one test. It's unbelievable to get a A or B.
This professor was no help at all. Keep talk way to much about unrelated materials and try to seem like he is connecting it back to econ but is not. He does not know how to teach. 3 test made up the whole grade, worth around 33% each. That was it. If you dont do well on one test you cant get a B. I worked really hard all semester an got a C. DO NOT
Prof Keep is one of the best professors at PCC. If you want a high quality education on a budget, take him. If you want it to come easy, don't bother. If you cant handle real world scenarios and mature topics, don't bother. Keep is fair, honest and has high expectations. Participation is key! Work hard and you will get rich.
Not an easy class, but a great professor who really knows the subject. He's helpful and is very fair. Study and do the work and you WILL pass.
he did a great job on the lectures. he will be curve at the end of the semester. you have to understand the material and his lecture. by the way, the graph is very important .
Prof Keep was a great instructor. Your final is the average of your three exams. This means that any homework he assigns will be added as extra credit points, so whatever he tells you to do for homework, do it! It's all extra! He knows the material, he's worked in economics at a high level and relates info to real world scenarios. Great class!
I got a B..to get a good grade you must read the book and not just memorize but know concepts..DO ALL THE HW he assigns and do the practice tests..he will count the hw as extra credit..HOWEVER, he will collect it on a random day so always do it before class and make sure its neat..only 3! tests so study hard..don't mess up on the first exam!
got 87.2% after the final and gave me an A. so you choice boys whether to take him or not. For me he is kind of easy. but let me tell you i'm an ESL student so if your first language is English, you should be in tourble
Keep is a very unconventional teacher and in that case, it can be a hit or miss. he literally flips a coin to determine if u can use a cheat sheet. he is temperemental but pretty cool for the most part. he lectures quickly and his test are hard!! even though i have a good gr, i wouldnt recommend him. take another teacher.
Keep is one of the best econ teachers at PCC in a comparison with other professors. I enjoyed the class a lot. I like how he relates what's going on in our daily life to the subject. I got a B in the class. :)
You have to earn your grade in his class. If you are an Econ major i suggest you take it. If you are an Art major i suggest you find another teacher. People in the middle flip a coin. how difficult the class is really comes down to the class itself. If a good amount of the class participates than his test aren't difficult since he'll be in good mo
It has been a few semesters since I took Prof. Keep and I still find myself sometimes remembering specific things about his lectures. He will say the kind of things that leave you thinking for days... I wish I could take this class again just to refresh some concepts and honestly just for fun. He is one of the best teachers at PCC.
He changed his teaching style. very hard. before i thought its an easy A.Noooo! u have to study very hard. if u take him, then good luck
Professor Keep rocks!! You will definitely learn a thing or two about life in this class... oh yea and also about economics. A very fun class if you participate. A very easy class if you just do all the HW and read as well. His lectures are great and keeps you thinking about the subject matter for days on end. Take him!!
He picks on students at random. Classmates afraid to answer questions. He puts people down. I think he is trying to toughen up people. Some people need it. Read the book, know how to do the graphs. Be thick skinned.
This professor is amazing. He may come off looking hard and mean, but he has a big heart by the end of the semester. His tests are mostly off the practice ones. Attendance isn't a must, but you're better off showing up and taking down the notes. Overall respect him, make him laugh at the beginning of the class, try your hardest, and you'll be fine.
He's typical for an adjunct. Seems to know the material pretty well. Gives lots of homework. Doesn't go over any of it. Not beneficial. Bit of a womanizer, which gets old. Three multiple-choice tests. All difficult. Not an easy class. I recommend not taking the 1x/week class. More face time would be better.
Scary and strict at 1st. Willing to answer questions after class. Goes fast in class, but he does have to cover a lot. Read each chapter well and do his pre-tests. 3 Exams grades render your course grade. Gives out generous extra credit added to the test score. Good Professor.
One of the better professors at PCC. Read the book, practice the pre-tests, and an A shouldn't be a problem.Would swear and talk about random crap, but it made the class tolerable/enjoyable. Apparently this was his last semester teaching here, but if it isn't i suggest you take him you wont regret it.Oh, and remember MB=MC. ;)
He is pretty funny professor, and he always talks about the stories about woman and man.. like rose? diamond ring and such. I hope he still teach next year.
He is a funny and very straightforward guy. If you can't take jokes definitely do NOT take his class. His tests are difficult but he makes sure there are as many As as possible in his class by giving ALOT of extra credits! He doesn't care about attendance and maybe that's a good thing for some people. Great class overall!
WOW its hilarious to look at all these positive ratings when they were probably written by the teacher. His attitude is disgusting: no compassion, makes fun of students, and talks about himself all the time. He has a huge ego and expects us to feed it. You have to teach yourself the material and learn every detail. Hard teacher, you've been warned
Took his ECON 1A AND 1B. He's humorous and like to pick on students. Class is easy as long as you read the book and complete practice tests prior to the exam. HW counted as extra credit but recommend you do them. His class is lengthy and boring but he really wants to make sure that everyone understands the material. Great professor overall!
Professor Keep is one of the professors in this world that actually prepare you for the future. Attendance isn't mandatory, homework isn't mandatory. He will give you all the tools necessary to pass the class, and if you don't do well then it is all on you. All other professors could learn a thing or two from Ryan Keep.
Professor Keep is one of the easiest econ professors in pcc. First, he gives out extra credit(donating blood,hw,buy him drink/burger). Second, his lecture is crystal clear .Third, he gives out pre-tests which contains some of the tests problems. Fourth, he let you use textbook during his tests. This class should be an easy A if you study.
Keep is a cool guy. Cynical but funny which keeps the boring subject interesting. Assigns homework as extra credit. Also gives extra credit for fetching him food. Lectures are clear and he gives sample tests that sometimes have questions from the actual test. They are multiple choice, grades and hands them back as soon as you finish.
