This was the first math class that I've ever taken that I didn't dread. He is an excellent teacher. Very enthusiastic about his job. I really understood the material. I highly recommend him for anyone who who fears Algebra the way that I did. Super-cool guy.

Newman mostly focuses on math class. He's not a bad teacher, but he doesn't really try to conversate much. Attendance is very important if you want to be successful in this class.

Took him in a 8 week class it was pretty easy, Just take notes and do homework. His test reviews help you out a lot.

I've taken Mr. Newman for nearly all of my math courses (College Algebra to Calculus). He managed to make Calculus infinitely more understandable than I thought possible, and has been excellent throughout.

Great professor for those who like having everything explained. He really goes into details and you are hardly ever left wondering. For those who easily catch concepts and can't stand professors who ramble, you might not like his lecture style. But overall great professor. I learned so much in his College Algebra class.

Very reasonable and easy to understand. His Calculus I class is by far the easiest math class I have ever taken in my life (easier than algebra). Just take the derivative, plug and chug, and you get an A. Very little analysis is required. If he is not available to help you outside of class, just ask Tim Bell for help.

He is an excellent professor. I took his online statistics course, and it was so easy. His online lectures are on PDF files. You play them, and you literally see his notes being written while he's talking. It's like being in class, all in the comfort of your own home. He always gives shortcuts to calculator formulas. I HIGHLY suggest taking him!

He explains really well and is willing to help you after class and responds to emails quickly. He also has videos posted if you need another example. Do your homework for extra practice or you will not do well on the test. I Wish he taught more math classes. His class has been my favorite and I'm not good at math.

He's very clear with everything (homework, noteslectures and test). It's an easy class as long as you show up in class and pay attention. Most daily quizzes are from the homework so if you practice and try to do the homework from the book which is not graded, you'll most likely to pass the quizzes and tests. He's fun.

If you do the work, you should pass. His teaching style was extremely helpful, straight to the point, and covered what was on the assignments. My stats lab was a must as the assignments, quizzes, and reviews were from there. He also provides opportunities for better grades!

He is a great teacher, he is there for you and is fast at replying to emails. The online class you have to do a lot of on your own studying. he gave us one extra credit project and let us redo assignments at the end of the semester to better your grade. If you can take him, do it!!

Professor Newman is wonderful!! He is very specific on what is required in the class. He gives extra credit. He emails back fast. He even emailed me back at 230 am about a quiz problem! Super nice guy.

Overall great professor. I wish I would've took him for every math class. He takes time to explain and slows down if you ask him to. I love the way he grades, it's very fair and you can basically get an A if you do all your homework and do the reviews before the test

Yes it's true this Prof. is awesome! But how about the class? I took it and was so scared taking Math online, but he records himself taking notes and posts videos of how to do calculator shortcuts so you're basically in class in your bed or in your own home. Answers emails within 5 mins, 4 tests, 1 final, apprx. 3 hours worth of hw and studying wk.

I loved Mr. Newman, by far my best math teacher. When I signed up I was scared since math is not my strongest subject, towards I did really well because of his help. Answers emails super fast and at any time of the day. Lecture at home and do HW in class that way he can answer any question. Extends deadlines, do HW and Quizzes and you'll be fine.

Mr. Newman is an amazing teacher! I haven't taken Algebra since high school (it's been years). I am not a math person but he made sure I understood everything. He is always available for tutoring or during his office hours. He gives a lot of extra credit for all your tests which helps a lot. He's such a nice teacher & I definitely recommend him!

I took 2 other classes while taking this class online! but he is one of the sweetest professors ever! This is my first time, rating a professor (in3 years) It was a lot for me, but it was because I had a part time job and school, and it was during the summer. He gives you a lot of times to redo quizzes! and he is REALLY understanding! I RECOMMEND!!

I'm bad at math but his lectures make it easy to understand as well as the homework. I printed out my homework from my statlab and made notes. Super helpful. He is very quick to respond and spells it out for you. I took the online class in 8 weeks and I spent hours on homework 2-3 days a week. I liked that it was over quickly though.

Stats was an easy class for me. To pass this class, make sure to do all hw and quizzes which are due every friday, and then study before your tests. The tests are very similar to the quiz questions. Professor Newman always replied to my emails very quick and his lecture notes were very helpful although his handwriting is very messy.

Mr. Newman has to be one of the best professors that I've had! I was already pretty iffy with me NOT being so good with Math AND this being an online class. However, Mr. Newman's course layout and the layout for each section, instructions, PDF lecture notes, and everything else that was assigned was very easy to follow along with. GREAT EXPERIENCE

Professor Newman was one of the greatest math teacher Ive ever taken. Even though I hate math so much, he would do anything just to get you to pass. He answers emails quickly, offers tutoring and always there to answer questions.

This professor provides excellent notes and videos to explain the lessons, which are done in StatLab. Plenty practice opportunities. I started this class being horrified, but thanks to this professors notes and feedback I soon really enjoyed statistics. Tests are pretty hard and proctored, but if you put the effort in, you will make the grade.

I have never taken an online class where the professor goes out of their way to make lecture videos like Prof Newman. The class itself is VERY difficult and takes lots of time. But with his videos, Ive managed to keep an A everage so far! Highly recommend him! He responds to emails very fast! If you take it online you need to take tests proctored.

He rambled during the lecture videos but when he actually was teaching he was good. The class is fairly easy but you have to work to get an A. Each unit takes approximately 3 hours to complete thats with watching the videos and doing the homework.

I took Newman for college algebra based on his high rating. I'm decent at math, but I hate bad math professors. Newman's ratings were very accurate. He's an awkward guy, but you can really tell he loves his job. I took him in person and he's funny in a nerdy way. Very easy A and he's always available after class to help. Professor Newman is one of the best professor's at San Jac, he's extremely caring and is willing to help. Make sure you work for your grade. He acknowledges effort. Study the homework, and do it more than once if you have too. Test are exactly like the homework.

Professor Newman is the most helpful online professor I've had. He always responds to e-mails quickly, provides notes and videos on Blackboard for each topic. Completing the HW and quizzes on MyStatLab can be a lot of work, but they're good preparation for what the tests are like.

He responded to all my emails immediately. If you don't do well in this class, then it is your own fault. He tells you what is on the tests and how to prepare for them. Great experience.

He is very chill and can be funny sometimes. You can learn a lot from his lectures although sometimes he talks too fast. The excel worksheet he made will be your best friend. Do the Statlab and review it before tests to do well (test questions are very similar). Everything is basically on the computer. Take notes on chapters before lectures.

I printed out & reviewed each section before classes and went over them again during lecture. lectures were a bit fast but if you attend class regularly you will be fine. Stay up to date with online work...&use him if needed. He is easily available, and helps one on one. Great teacher. The excel spread sheet will be your best friend. GOOD LUCK

I had heard many good things about professor Newman before I took him. They were all right. He was a great instructor, responded to my emails immediately, and had a clearly set up course. Main grades were four tests and a final, but he gives you test reviews for everything that are like the tests.

Statistics is hard already ! Professor Newman is always accesible and gives good feedback. Lots of hw barely any time to study for tests. But the hw helps. His lectures on line are very accurate and easy to understand. You really have to work in this class to pass but hw makes it easier.

He's pretty laid back and extremely helpful. He tries his best to explain the concepts if you're lost, but just make sure to ask. He makes the class extremely easy and even provides an excel sheet that does most of the work for you. He also answers emails back very, very fast! I've emailed him late at night and got an answer within minutes.

Professor Newman is SO nice!! I would HIGHLY recommend. He really does care about his students passing. I took this for an online class, tests are held at one of the campus's. He responds very fast to emails and homework questions, he is very good at explaining and his notes video's are very helpful and clear.

Stats is hard. If you put in the work you will receive an A but it is by no means an easy A. Professor Newman is very passionate and available (especially for being an online course!). If you have to take Stats definitely do it with Newman because stats can be tricky and having his guidance has helped tremendously.

stats is math but not like regular college algrebra i defently knew this was going to be challeging so i dedicated times to do his hw and to do the quiz i also currently study for one week for his test i think that is hes a very good profesror responds quick and hes is supper nice he is not akward at all lol idk why i read that on here.

Professor Newman is a really great choice if you need to take STATS. Though theres lots of HW theyre pretty easy to get through. The quizzes and tests are exactly the same/similar to the HW so if you do the HW you should get an Easy A in that class. He replies quick to emails too.

Professor Newman's Statistics class felt easier than it should have because of him. He set the course up with clear expectations and a road map of how to succeed. His notes helped you understand the concepts and homework. Which in turn helped on the exams. He used the discussion board to post explanations when needed. Great professor.

I didn't really study for the test and passed but I studied very hard for the final and made an A. The final helped be to get a B in the class.

I took Prof. Newman's statistic class. I chose this professoe because of the amazing reviews he had on rate my professor, and I must say, I was not dissapointed. He is hands down the BEST math professor I have ever taken. The material he provides is so easy to understand, even for an online class. He is very accessible and replies fast to emails.

You can tell that he is really passionate about his work and wants for you to succeed. I was terrified of taking this class and never would have imagined I'd get an A. He has a way of breaking things down and explaining them so that they are easy to understand. He is always available and willing to help you and answer your questions.

This class was hard because it was statistics, not because of the professor. Prof Newman is understanding of the workload and will extend assignments as long as they are not tests. The only reason I didn't have a better grade was because I had poor quiz grades that I didn't make up.

TAKE HIM!! I am HORRIBLE at math so the material was very difficult for me to grasp. He gives good notes and also gives extensions on homework. I would take him again if I had to take another math class. Thankfully this was my last math class!

He is absolutely amazing. Dont get me wrong, theres definitely a work load to be considered, but he wont let you down. If you have any questions with homework, he will send you in depth explanations almost immediately. He doesnt want you to fail, and he will only set you up to succeed.

He provides tons of extra resources. He takes no time to respond to questions concerning the material. This is a very difficult class in general, but he goes out of his way to help you understand the material and prepare for the exams. This class is not a walk in the park if you aren't a math person. It was very challenging. Take it in person if you can. However if you HAVE to take it online, take it with him. He responds to every single email/question you could possibly have in a timely manner. He really does want to help. 4 tests, 1 comprehensive final. Save your notes!

As a person who has always had trouble with math, he's a good professor, personally I just think the material was a bit hard, but he would ALWAYS answer any questions we had in a perfect way. The only thing I didn't really like was how the homework would be due on Thursdays but other than that, he was an amazing professor. I recommend taking him.
