New Guy. Nice, liberal, but fair minded. Cool Classes and very understanding. I recommend taking his class.
He's not extremely easy, but if you come to class, do your work, and do the reviews, you're sure to pass. He's really nice and the fact that he's far from ugly helps too.
He's nice and handsome!I took him for Govt2301 in summer. It was a little rushing but interesting. His tests are all from review sheets,so work hard on them. Assignments are a few essays. He gives extra credits. Strongly recommend all of you to take him. An easy A!
It's so interesting to be in his class that I want to take more GOVT classes. His tests are easy if you study his notes with review sheets he post online. four assignments with 2-3pgs for each and a presetation. Easy extra credits. Take him and you'll never regret.
Easy class. Takes attendance. Reads off powerpoint which makes class sort of dull. noted available online. as long as you do the study guides for the tests you should make a good grade. 3 tests and a project outside of class.
He's such a hard teacher. he doesn't teach. he just reads off power points provided by the website that's in the book. so all you end up doing is going to class and falling asleep. he leaves no margin for error. no matter how hard you work all semester, one late paper and you could easily fail his class. he doesn't know how to teach at all.
recommend to take him if you want an easy A. Just study the powerpoint and study guide. kinda boring in class though probably because of he just reads off the powerpoint. Nevertheless, it's generally an interesting class
Loved this class! He was very helpful and made the lessons interesting and fun!Take him and you will definitly like the class!
This teacher is a very hard grader. He doesnt do anything other than read off a powerpoint and agree with anything that any student says. He gave me an F on a paper. I am a straight A student and this blew my mind away. I talked to him about it and he said that there was nothing he could do. I could have just not written the paper at all! :(
Amazing prof! Laid back, funny & cool but really smart & informative. Gives a great review that has exactly what's on the test-no surprises. Everything a class discussion. Papers can be kind of tedious, but he will answer any questions and is happy to meet with student any time. Liberal guy, but won't belittle others' viewpoints. WONDERFUL CLASS!
GREAT GUY.. but the class was harder than i thought.. it's worth taking.. if you try you should get an A or B for sure.. he is sweet and kind.. and easy on the eyes lol
a lot of book work but answers not alway in the book ,need to look on the computer.need to not only show u[ to class but ask question as he grades that too.
I withdrew from the class because of issues regarding the polyscilab website and me not having access to it. He is however a good guy and I could see me just hanging out with him and talking. The essays are way to long and pointless for the class. I love arguments regarding politics but a few ignorant and immature students ruined discussions.
Take caution with his summer class. A little intense.
he is cool as a fan if your looking to do well take him and he gives a review sheet before every est that helps you pass. if you donot take him your crazy.
his clas fills quick better get in fast that is if your want to pass goverment
Took this prof over the summer and loved him, took him again in the fall. His classes are fun and interesting. All his powerpoints are available and he explains things in an understandable way. He is always available to talk to and responds to emails. He gives a reveiw sheet and a class review, doing both of these gets you an easy A.
He gives great notes that are posted on his web page. Study guides are provided and are very comprehensive but only little info on the tests. No comprehensive tests. Few papers. Tons of extra credit opportunities. Not bad to look at.
Great interesting teacher! He makes class fun and intersting. LOTS of extra credit opportunity. TAKE HIM!
Just go to class and pay attention! Great professor!
Great teacher. Really hott. Hard grader and attendance is mandatory, but if you have a dorctors note then he will accept it. Really into the subject that he is teaching. I would def recommend him.
greatest professor ever!! he is young and he knows that government is only a requirement for our majors, so he tries to keep the class intereseting! a lot of group activities...writing assignments where you have to analize a news article...his exams are multiple choice! VERY EASY! I got an A!
great guy good teacher. don't buy the book. he uses all power point and you can print them out. very funny teacher and makes the class interesting. test are multiple choice not a bunch of homework. he is a really good teacher. you will enjoy the class.
Wonderful Professor, online class, just study the chapters and you may take the quizes...4 essays and no final over whole class just 4 seperate test over about 3 chapters each HOT HOT HOT
Definitely one of the top professors to take. He's one of the few people who managed to make this subject interesting. Not hard to get an A at all.
Wonderful man. Don't buy the book unless you are absent, his notes are straight from the textbook publisher for the most part. EASY tests, a few questions test you for fact memorization (like maybe 5 out of the 50) and the rest are easy with completely made-up, hilarious answers. Take him!
Prof. Rynbrandt is AWESOME! And even after recieving a C, i highly recomend him to anyone who has to take a govn't course! Not only does he actually know what he's talking about, he also understands that we're not all political science majors. He's funny, nice, understanding and definitely not bad to look at! =)
He made government almost painless. He is always willing to work with the students, and he LOVES it when people respectfully speak their mind in class! Great government teacher, and that is saying a lot.
Hes a realy nice guy and understandsd you alot. He is also funny and down to earth. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!!!!!!!
He is a really nice guy, but all he does is read off the powerpoints. His class was my most boring class, and my least favorite. Despite all that, I don't regret taking his class, and I wish I had taken him as my government professor for 2301.
Awesome teacher, every class he relates government to real life use, and gets interesting discussion going. Most quizzes/tests are online and open book, paper topics are interesting, and he gives VERY good reviews. Awesome professor but class can get a little out of hand occasionally with more than 30 people.
Mr. Rynbrandt is awesome!! one of the best teachers i have ever had!! dont get the textbook all the info comes on powerpoints that you can print off!! open book test with 4 papers!! so easy that im sure i got an A!!! very nice and easy to talk to....i highly recommend this teacher and i plan to take his 2302 class next semester!!
Ryan Rynbrandt is a pretty cool guy although he tries to act not partisan you can totally see that he is a huge democrat. Test were online, so they were pretty easy, very little work. If you are looking to earn an A Take this class. Unless you are a crack head that never goes to class you can breeze by this class.
Had a bad experience in GOVT 2301 so searched around. No regrets with Professor Rynbrandt. The work load is what you would expect, and want, for a class that's just a requirement and not a career choice. The book stayed sealed. I highly recommend this teacher and wish I had taken him for 2301. However, put in effort. No free ride here, just easier.
A very good teacher with a perfect plan and structure. He lectures from PPs, asks questions, involves students in discussions, and answers every question. The amount of work is reasonable: multiple projects and many extra credit opportunities. Very supportive, smart, and simply nice. Take his class.
BORING, too much work for a Government Class. 2 take home exams on Computer, timed. FOUR group projects. He teaches from powerpoint and waits for the class to answer because he "can wait all day" a nice guy but so boring...there are many opportunities for extra credit. you have to go to class to get an A! attendence is part of your grade.
Good teacher. Lots of work and the tests are a bit hard although they're essentially open book since they're online. You can easily pass the class as long as you pay attention and do your work. Attendance is graded. Don't get the book, all the info is on the power points.
2 open-book, timed, online tests, for which he provides review sheets. a lot of time spent on group projects. tons of extra credit! he's very nice and open-minded with a quiet sense of humor.
Great professor! I have had him for both 2301 and 2302. I got an A in both. He has great lectures and he is very lenient on his grading. He has some online open book quizzes and for his tests all you need to do his answer the review sheet which comes straight from his power points. I highly recommend him
Very recommended, Great teacher, has a lot of sense of humor, everything is online, 9 quizzes, 2 tests, 3 essays, and BOOM (EAZY A) HE IS VERY HELPFUL, AWESOMENESS is a not enough to describe him. However, he is boring, talks a lot, didn't motivate me to think or challenge his ideology in govt. TAkE HIM if you think u can handle couple of mushrooms
Loved his class. I thought he was a great teacher. Very soft spoken and kind in his demeanor. If I needed more government classes I could take him again. Didn't use my book at all.
I was required to take this class but it ended up being really interesting and I learned a lot. It can get boring because he uses powerpts everyday. Theres 2 essays, weekly online quizzes, and 2 tests & the questions come straight from the review. Quiz questions come from the book, but I wouldnt buy it; just use the library's copy. Oh and hes hott!
He is really clear, nice, and pretty easy. Study a little bit and you will be fine. He is funny and plays tv clips alot.
very nice professor. wants students to succeed and understands where they are coming from. class is basically going over powerpoints=boring. quizes are more challenging than expected. attend review day before tests and learn the review to do well on test. attendence required. dont use cell phone (will take pnts away). participate in class. verynice
He is a great professor and makes what could be a boring class fun He gives online open book quizzes so buy the book. Apply yourself on the papers and tests and you will make an A. He gives you plenty of time to get things done.
I had him for 2301 and 2302. Good prof. He makes class interesting, gives online quizzes, 2 papers, final exam and offers extra credit. You won't regret taking him.
BEST TEACHER EVER!! All the work is done online including quizzes and essays. Doesn't ask for much just that you participate in class discussions. Very easy class. Very nice professor. I'd strongly recommend him to anyone who wants to take government. TAKE HIM!!
Excellent Professor! Highly recommend. Look at other post to see details of class, cause I want to focus on the professor. He is a great teacher and is extremely helpful and willing to take time to assist his students. Great positive energy and he is really funny, you'll look forward to class. Overall an excellent professor in every way possible.
Very good class!!! Wish he did GovnI
awesome teacher. take him! he is amazing and helpful and caring. Funny and makes govt fun to come to! TAKE HIM! you have only a final, but you have chapter quizzes over the chapeters he goes over ( you take the quizzes online) and 2 papers. he gives a good review for the final which is HELPFUL! offers many extra credit things.
Very, very, very easy. Then again, I'm a government buff. The tests were very easy and online and the essays covered some pretty decent topics.
Nice guy, but I could deal without all the socialist propaganda. If you like being required to attend a class where you have to watch idiots like john stewart and michael moore go on about how everyone who doesn't think that marxism is the greatest thing since sliced bread is satan's incarnate, then by all means sign up.
mr. rynbrandt is as good as a government teacher can get. he's young and he is a very intellectual guy. from detroit and he cares about teaching his students. Im ot too interested in government, but he makes it bearable. medium on easiness. just ask what he tells you to do (online quizzes, etc) and u will be fine. i recommend prof rembrandt
Hes very friendly and nice, extremely willing to help. Participation is worth 10 percent of your grade so if you dont speak up that grade will be low, but otherwise he grades very respectively.
Prof. Rynbrandt is a great teacher, very funny and makes the class more interesting than most would. Plays clips from the Colbert Report or Daily Show every day before class which are hilarious. Ten online quizzes, 2 papers, class participation, and only the final so its not too much work. I would definitely recommend him!!
Honors class. Great professor! Project, textbook quizzes, final. Fairly easy and very informative; one of the best classes I took.
Didn't learn a thing. Went off topic everyother powerpoint slide. Only 1 test so its all crammed in and you have to study the whole book. Tries to be funny but comes off like he is trying too hard Not the best but not the worst. Definitely not the most efficient and goes over current events instead of teaching facts that need to be known for test.
There are not enough good things I could say about Professor Rynbrandt. I really was not excited about taking Government because it had been so boring previously. He really took the time to make his lectures enjoyable, and you can tell that he loves his job. You do have to write a couple papers, but nothing too taxing.
Professor seemed nice and understanding until I received my grades for my discussions and paper. If they are cited improperly you better expect to receive a 50. I worked for a week on my paper and he made good comments on my work, but gave me a D. Needless to day I wouldn't recommend taking this professor.
Took him for both govts. great prof lots of group discussions and his quizzes are pretty easy and you do them online. attendance is part of your grade but not a huge chunk. only one exam and two papers besides the online quizzes.
Professor Rynbrandt is a very helpful teacher who really tries to get you involved in the class. Plenty of extra credit, quizzes are not too difficult. One paper and a final. He is also pretty comical, and easy on the eyes.Take him and try hard!
Very nice professor who makes class interesting. The online quizzes are kind of annoying but they're pretty easy. He is a fun and lovable guy who is always smiling. Participate and you will do fine. Take him!
Much more entertaining than most classes, start with clips from Daily Show or Colbert Report.
Professor Rynbrandt is an excellent teacher. The class is not difficult as long as you do the work, show up for class and pay attention. There are online text book quizzes. There is also some writing. I took him for Honors Government 1 and just signed up for Honors Government 2. Take him. You won't regret it and you will learn a lot.
Amazing professor! Very helpful and VERY understanding! you learn ALOT in his class! he is the best!!! he makes everything easy for you. And always shows funny clips from colbert report or daily show! LOVED his class!
He is one of the best teachers here, he is very easy and keeps the class entertained! If you want a good grade GET HIM!!!
Great Professor!!! Really enjoyed his class! makes even boring topics interesting.. cares about his students and wants everyone to do well! Take him :)
Professor Rynbrandt is awesome! He doesn't give test, just online quizes and a policy task all due online! I'd highly recommend this teacher!
Love this prof. very reasonable and understanding of personal problems or emergencies. Weekly online reading quizzes, class discussions, a paper and the final. final was 100 mult. choice questions. he is kind of a tough grader on the papers but has several extra credit opportunites throughout the semster which can help makeup for the paper.
Love this prof. very reasonable and understanding of personal problems or emergencies. Weekly online reading quizzes, class discussions, a paper and the final. final was 100 mult. choice questions.took online & the final was at home, open book. several extra credit opportunites throughout the semster
Rynbrandt is the greatest teacher at collin and is very very easy, there are no tests, just online quizes and a policy task everything due online. I wish there were more professors like him. 5/5 for sure
Super super easy class, no tests/midterm just online quizzes and a policy task all due online!
Professor Rynbrandts 2302 follows exactly 2301 class!
If you have to take both government classes take this professor, I promise you, you will not regret it! He is super easy, no tests, just online quizzes and a policy task all due online!
There's a bit of work involved but it's not hard. Lots of in class discussion and watching videos. This guy made me realize I had a passion for the subject I never knew I had. He is one of the best teachers I have ever had.
excellent teacher, he is young so he doesn't hold such a bias on government, like other teachers i've had. Class is very laid back, just listen and join in discussion and ask questions! I never took notes and got an A
He's the best government teacher ever! Highly recommend! He talks very fluently and his lectures are easy. He explained things clearly. His examples are funny and entertaining. Several online quizzes, no tests, one policy task, and one final exam!
Difficult papers, 2 5-7pg research essays, easy online homework and a final... thats' it. class is fun and interesting for government, i enjoyed attending, but if papers are your weakness do not take! if you are great at them this is your class!
He helped me to understand government itself and made it an interesting class! The final two research papers are not too bad if you are interested in the topic you choose, but are still frustrating with how extensive he likes them to be. They could easily and efficiently be done in 2-3 pages but he wants 5-7 pages; Regardless, take him!
great professor
Professor Rynbrandt's lectures come directly from powerpoints he shows in class, which tie directly to the reading. Read the chapters. Test are online & timed but answers can easily be found in the reading. No midterm. The policy project is tedious.I found the most difficult and lengthy portion was the annotated bibliography.
Professor Rynbrandt was so helpful and organized. Great professor who definitely deserves a high rating. He answered every single of my many questions and his assignments were clear and reasonable. There is a deal of writing that is required but he is not a hard grader on those assignments. Highly recommend him.
Very engaging and an easy grader. But his classes are a lot of work. We had an online assignment due every week (completion grade) based on the readings, three papers, two debate, one blog post, and an insanely long final review
ONLY ONE WORD TO DESCRIBE HIM,AWESOME! THR WORK IS EASY AND HE IS NOT A GRADER. HR ID ALSO FUN AND INTERESTING!!I MIGHT ADD THAT IT WAS AN HONORS COURSE.
I took his Honors class and it was fantastic! You'll come out of this class understanding how the federal government actually works. He's very laid back and is always open to student ideas and questions. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
Rynbrandt's Honors Federal Govt. course was one of the most fun classes I have taken. We spent most of the lectures in discussion rather than just speaking to us. The honors course was based primarily on research for your project, rather than on exams. He's a fun person over all, just make sure he got you on attendance if you're late, it counts.
Rynbrandt is the best prof I've had in a long time and he restored my faith in the education system. Very discussion based and lots of real-world context. Doesn't judge or add a lot of bias which is very important in anything poli-sci, but it's pretty easy to tell he's a liberal guy. Always looked forward to going to class.
Rynbrandt was really helpful and was really interested in what the students have to say. I took him for an honors class and we had a project that is basically anything you want to do. The project is divided into three parts and is on a current subject that involves the government today. Easy class! Quizzes are online. Really nice teacher!
He was a really good professor- there are presentations throughout the semester but it's actually not that bad. You do have to buy the textbook that has a online code because there's weekly quizzes. Very easy and he's also very interesting and wants the class to engage in his conversations.
Took him for Fall 2014. Awesome professor. Your grade is based on online homework, quizzes, 2 essays, 2 group presentations, and your final. Pretty easy class as long as you complete your assignments. The online homework and quizzes are an A. He answers questions when in doubt.
If you want a normal class where you show up and listen to a lecture, w a few tests throughout the semester, don't take him. That's what I would prefer, but that being said, I don't regret taking him. Lots of interactive stuff (group presentations, discussions, online quizzeshw, 2 essays), and the only test was the final. Nice & knowledgeable guy
Two group presentations, two essays, lots of online hw, and a final 100 question exam. Hopefully you pick a good group! Book was pointless. The group work and online work can be tedious. I Seriously thought I bombed the final, I got a ninety with note cards. I now love the Daily Show! Rynbrandt and Jon Stewart made me love government!
Proffesor Rynbrant is an excellent teacher! Extremely unbiased (important especially in a government class), material is easy (just do the work) and he is very willing to work with you. Be prepared for some group projects though- that is the only downside to taking this professor.
Did well in his class. I got a C but only because I didn't try that hard. His exam review was a bit lengthy, although you only have one exam though so everything is smashed into one review. Group projects were very easy, no pressure. Had fun in his class, not to mention he's easy on the eyes.
He was a really laid back professor. Respectful to all points of view and political beliefs. Class seemed a little directionless at times. Group presentations last half the semester. Overall the environment was great. I'm just not sure how much I learned. He has honors classes if your a polisci major.
You HAVE to participate in his class, e.g answering & asking questions. Avoid tardiness, missed class, unnecessary chats, no phone in sight during class, must show laptop work after class. All these WILL count toward your overall grade despite you think you're doing really well on online assignments and research paper. Not an easy A.
ABSOLUTELY NO PHONES or drops u a letter grade. NEEDS participation or that starts you off with a 70 if you do not. Essentially 15 one page papers (media reports) over articles. U better pick a great group bc those group projects are worth 30% of your grade & need to be the entire class period long. No tests & final is 10% (all written)
The class is pretty easy if you do all your work. If you enjoy government you will do more than fine, and it's an easy A. Other than that, the professor is very picky about participation and attendance. You will end up with a C in participation if you go to class everyday but do not ask questions. His lecture can be very boring!!!
Highly recommend. Great teacher and very easy grader. Group projects are a big part of this class, but like I said he's an easy grader. Homework/Quizzes are online on mindtap which you have to purchase. No tests in class other than the final which he provides a review for. Can't be on your phone in this class though. Would take again for sure :)
Enjoyed his class for the most part. Wish he gave more lectures, so if you learn best by lectures, don't bother. A LOT of group work, if you don't like group work, don't bother. If you don't like hearing everybody's opinion about whatever subject he's going over, good luck. Do not be mistaken by that red hot chili pepper, his class is not an easy A
Amazing professor! He's nice and quite handsome. Homework/quizzes are all online. He's not bias at all and loves it when students express their point of views. Lots of lectures and class discussions, but they were all very interesting and funny. For once I actually looked forward to gov class. Don't use your phone and show up to class. Easy A
I took Rynbrandt for both 2306 and 2305 last semester. He is honestly one of those teachers you can tell is a really great person who wants to help people learn. I looked forward going to class. If you're political, outspoken, and love to debate his classes are REALLY fun. Take if you need practice with public speaking.
Government has never interested me. However this professor made it much more relevant to current times. Which in turn made it more enjoyable. There are tests and papers to write though out this course. I had a great time listening to other students point of views in this class and discussions.
He is awesome! The class overall is pretty easy with him. The main components are online stuff, a paper, a group project & a final. As long as you do the online stuff, write a decent paper and do well on the group project you should be fine. The final is kind of difficult since it's the only test. Overall he is super cool and will help you.
Such A good professor! He is so easy going and so nice! You have to do some work but the class will be easy to pass. I love him!
He's a good teacher. In an online class you kind of have to teach yourself but he's there is you have any questions and he's a very fair grader. He gives good feedback so you know what to improve. Because it was an online class there was quite a bit of work but he gave you all week to do it so you could complete it on your own time.
Very simple online class! Defintely would take again! Professor Rynbrant was extremely clear with what he wanted and graded very fairly.
Prof. Rynbrandt is also a yoga instructor. He's very down to Earth, relaxed, reasonable, and considerate. He's always in a good mood. We used McGraw-HIll's Connect to learn and complete homework. There were 4 Discussion posts and 2 group projects that were not as dreadful as I thought they would be (I don't like group work). I recommend this prof.
Ok so yes he is cute, but he is not easy. You NEED to participate and you cannot skip class or be late or else he will remove points. He's a tough grader which is really unfair because we're all taking goverment just because it's one of texas core courses. There are papers you need to write and unless it's perfect, you're taking a low grade.
Professor Rynbrandt is a MUST! such interesting lectures that make you engaged and you have a lot of fun in his class! participation is key. 2 group presentations (which were annoying), 2 research papers that are easy and interesting to write, and a final exam that he gives an extensive review for! I REALLY RECOMMEND TAKING HIM! such a wise man!
I enjoyed this class. He encourages discussion between students. There are a few group projects that require presenting to the class. The homework is through Mcgraw connect which can be frustrating at times. His final exam is ALL written answer and he is a tough grader. Luckily it is only 10% of the grade.
This man loves government and you can tell as he teaches. He is very passionate and that transfers to his students. He is a fair grader, he isn't ridiculously tough but if you make mistakes he will let you know. His final is the only test and its difficulty is based on the classes participation. There are group projects also but they aren't bad.
2 papers and 2 group presentations that he grades pretty easy on. What's really stupid is that you have to show up AND participate in the lectures for 20% of your grade, but I never said a word and got an 86 for participation but I ever missed a day of class. Final is directly from the review. Pretty easy class all together. Would highly recommende
Great Professor overall! I wish that a majority of my class had chosen to actually talk and participate though, as they brought the experience down a notch, because of their refusal to chime in. Don't sign-up for an honors course if you plan on being silent the whole time . He grades heavily on your spoken participation, as he should.
Awesome professor! Group project heavy. Spoken Participation is part of your grade, so don't sign-up if won't talk-messes up the vibe of the class for everyone else. Overall nice person and great at what he does.
He's a cool guy but we didn't do anything in his class which kinda bothers me. The whole class was essentially mindtap online homework and 2 group projects. I came out of this class with the exact same knowledge of Federal Gvt i came in with.
Will fail you if you are a Trump supporter. Failed multiple students in our class that were Trump supporters including a student coming out of 4 years in the military. Not a fair guy. If you're a Trump supporter, you will cringe the whole semester. My advise if you're a conservative take another teacher.
BEST professor Ive ever had, hands down! Really cares about his students, is really intelligent and just generally very kind. Hes so passionate about what he teaches, so discussions with him were always engaging and fun. Extremely interesting person overall, what with also being a yoga instructor and all. Wish him all the best!
I enjoyed his class, because he brought something else to government. I became more interested in politics, and government after this class. There were a lot of group projects, so make sure you like your topic. Class participation is mandatory. He is very fun to talk to. I would definitely take him again.
He is a very nice and caring professor. Participation is mandatory, but all of the classwork is very easy and there is only a mid term and final. Highly recommend him for government!!!
Was a great proffesor. You teach yourself pretty much with the
I took his summer course. Each week had a discussion (which was like a mini essay with citations), three/four MindTap chapters (easy, but takes two or three hours a week), chapter quizzes and the final. Quizzes are on quizlet, final is NOT. So study for the final!! Not exactly an easy A, but a guaranteed B. Rynbrandt is an awesome guy.
I took him for both GOVT 2305 and 2306. I had no tests or quizzes, but online homework every week, 2 class presentations, 4 discussions, and a final. The final is all based on his lecture PowerPoint. Just know the review and you'll ace the exam. He gives enough time for the class presentations and gives good feedback too. He's really disciplined!
Great professor! Very understanding and is lecture heavy but feels like time goes by fast. It feels like you can ask any question and you won't get judged for it. Not many assignments, other than Mindtap but it is an easy A!
he is not really a tough grader but he doesn't allow lateness to class, he will deduct your points. he has a lot of mind tap questions, the class is sometimes boring and too much irrelevant suggestion from students which diverts the topic being thought. i repeat no phones!!!
Very nice professor! You just need to put a lil effort into his class in order to pass. Pretty lax about attendance, most of the assignments are on MindTap but his lectures definitely help with truly understanding the concepts to better study them. The reviews he posts on Canvas for the final and midterm. He *is* liberal but very open minded.
He is great!! If you do the homework and do the reviews you can pass with an A! He loves class conversation, so just be sure to stay attentive and contribute when you can.
If you want an A, take him. He lets the students go on tangents and it is obnoxious if you want to learn from the professor, not a student. Group projects are a big part of the grade, easy tests. I noticed he would let the left wing opinions go unchecked and conservative students got shut down rather quickly at times. Classroom had a weird dynamic.
Professor R. is an excellent professor the only way to fail this class is if you do not complete any of the assignments. Although I took him for 5-week summer classes, there was not a lot of homework, but you learn a lot. There are research discussions which are easy to complete, lecture discussions, and MindTap activities.
Professor Rynbrant is incredible! Lectures are easy to follow and you learn a lot. Lots of assignments, but not hard if you follow the lectures and textbook. Took his 8 week course. Cant wait to take him again!
Professor Rynbrandt is one of the best I have taken! His class is easy to follow and everything is straight forward. Book is a must and online access. TONS of extra credit opportunities. His lectures are not boring! Can't wait to take him again.
Great professor. Lengthy lecture videos and lots of discussion boards but its very easy work
Pretty easy class. There are no essays but you do have to prepare for tests. You do not have to devote too much time to the class and it's an easy A.
Professor R. was amazing this past semester. He had clear expectations, engaging lectures, and lots of extra credit assignments. He communicates frequently and answers emails almost instantly. Quite a bit of reading from the textbook, but manageable. Great class, and I ended up enjoying Texas government!
If you read the textbook its an easy A+. Many extra credit opportunities and a genuinely nice guy. Only drawback he doesn't give much feedback on research discussions but he's not a tough grader.
He makes government interesting! I took his online summer class, there was a large amount of class work, he's a great professor! You have two chances to ace his quizzes. Had a midterm over the first half and final over the second half. He gives GREAT recorded lectures and LOTS of extra credit. If you don't make at least a B - it's your fault!
Hands down one of the greatest professors I have ever had. Professor Rynbrandt manages to be both informative and amusing in his lectures. Definitely would take a class with him again.
Finished online course for accelerated semester. Prof Rynbrandt is extremely caring and understanding. He wants every student to succeed and his work material is very interesting. Even with standard material, he is able to connect that to current events that make you think. Each week is not overwhelming but I would read the textbook to help. Easy A
Pretty chill teacher. There are more assignments than usual entry level classes.
He provides a good amount of work. He males you think and understand what goes on in the government. His lectures are filled with much detail. I would retake him, to be honest. I received a fair grade only because I slacked off, but it was pretty great over all.
Professor Rynbrandt is a great professor who truly cares about his students. Workload isn't too heavy, and his lectures/assignments are engaging & interesting. He gives good feedback, and you will make a good grade if you follow directions & show effort. I took Prof Rynbrandt for both 2305 & 2306. Overall an awesome professor & I really recommend!!
I took Professor Rynbrandt for Federal Government 2305 on line and a very good Professor. I loved his lectures very engaging and kept my attention. He cares about his students. Do the work and it will be a easy pass. I would definitely take his class again.
Professor Rynbrandt made clear grading instructions and lecture videos. There are several discussions to do, in each unit there is a short discussion and an essay-style discussion. He gives good feedback on the discussions on how to improve them to get a better grade on the next ones. Assignments, tests, and quizzes are all in the same program.
Assignment instructions are clear and to the point and he gives good feedback on how to improve your discussions. He gives lots of extra credit opportunities throughout the semester. Tests come from the textbook and some of the lecture videos. I've taken his US Gov. course and all the assignments were the same or similar.
Took for both 2305 and 2306 over the summer, both were async and organized similarly. Class is super organized; lecture discussions, research discussions, and textbook work/exams are clearly laid out and consistent throughout the course. His feedback was helpful on discussion assignments. He's very nice and manages to remain politically neutral.
Took him for 2306 as well, both ended with a high A. He has two types of discussion boards; actual research and the lecture itself, homework is all inquisitive. He hides the extra credit in the lecture video so beware!! The exams are not hard, there is no "final," and he is fairly simple. Very sweet, and basically gives out 100s. Take him!!
Grades hard for no reason and has discussions literally every week. He doesn't post a rubric but counts of 50+ points on discussions. Do not recommend at all one of the worst professors I have had at Collin.
Hard grader for no reason and had lengthy discussions due almost every week. Professor Rynbrandt never gave a clear rubric on the discussions but took off 50+ points for minuscule details. Would NOT recommend his class, especially those who think that this is going to be a chill class, because Professor does not make it that way. Never again!!!!
Decent professor. Lots of busy work though. My grade can be accounted for because I skipped a lot of the assignments.
Uses InQuizative (gambling style "learning game" that causes nervous breakdowns) heavily throughout course. This state required course contains more writing and reading than both my English comp classes. Avoid.
I cannot believe the 5 star ratings. This guy is a joke. He teaches a class that was required by the state like it's one that matters. This class is more work than ALL my other core classes combined. I would NOT recommend this class filled with busy work and inconsistent grading.
It was way too much work for a core class. We had research paper style discussion posts every week where we had to write 500-1000 words. He used Inquizitive for homework which took ages to complete. If receive an unreasonable grade schedule a zoom meeting, he will change your grade and probably be more lenient for the rest of the semester.
I just finish this class for 2025 fall semester. Professor Ryan cares about his students, and always happy to answer your question quickly. However, his class has discussion boards almost every week, which can be quite hard, especially the research discussion boards, which can take 3-5 hours each. Tests and quizzes are very easy and open-note.
I took him in Government 2305. I highly recommend taking his classes because he references court cases. If you have trouble with assignments, he can look at your rough drafts. Take lots of notes and be ready to reference the textbook and court cases. He cares a lot about his job; it's going to be worth it if you do. I don't regret taking his class.
I'm glad that I took both his classes, yes, I am definitely pleased with the results. I highly recommend taking him because he gave me good feedback. When I referenced CBS Bull, he helped me with all my rough drafts. If you are going to do the lectures, then prepare to reference the textbook and all court cases. I promise you, it's an easy A.
