Ryan values participation over "lower-level learning" - such as book work. While there is a quiz from the book every week, but Ryan spends all of his time doing hands on, collaborate projects with the class- and hopes to inspire students developing their own business ideas. Whether youre a business major or not, he will make sure you get your moneys worth at school. You will learn a lot in this class. He is funny while teaching in class and will work with you outside of class. Im taking this once a week, so its pretty important to atleast come once a week since the whole class is structured on group projects.

Awesome teacher! The course is hard though, and you will need to read every chapter of the book with a quiz on it every week. But he's super laid back and passionate. He will get you through the class.

Amazing teacher and businessman. He does the minimum required coursework to qualify the class, but if you want to learn, you will LEARN. Outside of a quiz every week, most of what you will do is based on case studies and your own projects (none of which are strictly graded). Getting an A isn't hard. Getting a lot out of the class is up to you.

One of the easiest classes I've ever taken. He made me really care about marketing but the class was poorly structured, it seems like the class was taken from another professor. So many of the students were lost on how to turn in/do assignments. It was a good class, but with more structure it would be an amazing class.

If youre taking marketing 3600 take it from professor schill! He cares about his students, he consistently applies what you learn in class to marketing in the real world, and he is going to push you to be successful.

He teaches a lot of important marketing concepts in order for students to be successful in the future. He also gives us examples from his own experience which is super cool. Always willing to help his students.

I really enjoyed Professor Schill. He's way overqualified to be teaching an undergrad class and I'm super grateful to have been able to take this class from him. He knows what he's talking about. He pushes you and is extremely helpful. He genuinely cares about the success of his students. If you have the chance to learn from him, take it!

Professor Schill has easily become one of my favorite professors. Even though I only had the class once a week, he really made an effort to learn everyone's names. He has so much knowledge to share and is so willing to teach it. Participation in class is mandatory; it was draining sometimes but it helped me get comfortable sharing my ideas.

In class participation its very important. Most of the learning in this class takes place out of the class. During class Prof. Schill focuses on the important aspects of marketing but doesn't really cover what is on the weekly quizzes or tests. Overall, the class is really fun and a great class.

This professor is absolutely incredible. So understanding, really gets marketing, explains it in a fun unique way and SUCH a great professor. You're in a group the whole semester. You have quizzes weekly. Really a great class.

Ryan is the greatest professor at UVU. I honestly feel like I learned nothing in actual class but always walked away feeling inspired and uplifted. There are two quizzes every week on the book (he doesnt teach out of the book so theres about 40 pages a week to read) and it gets pretty tedious, but overall a really good guy and great professor.

Ryan was AMAZING, so passionate about the subject, and he transfers that energy to you. Pay attention and participate and you'll be just fine, If you miss class often you'll be playing catch up the entire time and he won't be up to help you. Super accessible after class, doesn't answer emails super well but you can just go up to him after class .

Professor Schill really cares about your success. Make sure to study if you want an A, as the online course can be really tough. The textbook was not awesome, but Professor Schill was. If possible, take an in-person class from him. I think he has a lot to teach and it can be weird to do online courses. He is amazing though and I would recommend him

Professor Schill genuinely cares about his students. Weekly, if not almost daily he would send out an email asking for us to reach out as needed with his personal cell phone included. Grading was clear but you only have one chance on the assignments so take it seriously and try your best. Large group project at the end of the semester.

For example, on the class river trip, he brought along professionals that counseled and worked with us to prepare our resumes, improve our interviewing skills, and set meaningful goals. Best class ever in the entire MBA program period. The river rafting trip was all I needed to help boost my confidence because I never been swimming in my entire life. I loved the format of this class! It was fun, very educational, and I got the opportunity to send an idea I had to real Investors for a chance to earn real funding to pursue it! How cool is that!

Ryan brought great energy to class and I left motivated every single time. It is not very often that a professor cares about their students as much as Ryan does. Getting to have Ryan part of your network and having the opportunity to pitch your business ideas to real investors makes this class worth its weight in gold.

Honeslty one of the best professors at UVU, I don't like marketing but he made it more enjoyable and bearable to listen to. I understand the importance of it better and he has amazing energy. I would highly recommend him and he cares for his students, you have to try to fail his course.

Ryan paid a student's back due rent and then 4 extra payments as soon as he found out he (my friend) was living out of his car and stopped attending school. Quietly done Ryan is one of the most genuine and kindest people I have ever known. Ryan does not know that I know he paid this and I am now in his class. A proven good person to the core.

This class is very easy and he's a very chill guy. This is both the benefits and cons of this class. Things feel a too chill and directionless a lot of the time, but the work is beyond easy and it's an easy class. So if you're okay with the class having directionless classes sometimes, it's a great. It's a very easy class and he's an awesome guy.

Professor Schill deserves a 6/5 rating. He is a seasoned veteran in business and academia who has taught at various prestigious schools. You invent a product for your group project and he is so willing to donate money to help you create it. I'm very excited to take his advanced classes for my graduate work.

In this class you work as a group to create a product and you actually pitch to investors. In the beginning he said our group would be around 6 people max, however my group had 10. Having a lot of people made it hard to find time to meet, however it meant less work each person had to do. Attendance wasn't mandatory but show up for your group.

He is awesome and caring. The only thing I did not like about this class was the smartbook textbook assignments, but many professors have had to implement that into their curriculum. I like how hands-on this class was, most of the assignments outside the textbook were easy group assignments. The final project was a group video pitch to investors.

He works with your team throughout the semester and provides invaluable connections. 10/10 recommend this professor and class.

Professor Schill does a very good job at making you apply marketing to real life instead of just learning the textbook. This class was almost entirely group work, and he required meeting with your group outside of class. He was a very lenient grader. The only reason I gave him 4 stars is because he didn't always seem prepared for class. Great guy.

Ryan makes classes so fun to be in and is very knowledgeable in the marketing field. All of the assignments in this class were very easy. There are a lot of group projects so if you don't mind then this the best class.

This class is almost a joke... it was easy. He didn't talk abt the hw in class at all, you kind of have to teach yourself. But if you like a professor who thinks hes funny and the classes are super interactive then you'll like him. Theres a big group project but he is super lenient grading all throughout the semester, he doesnt accept late work tho

I want to take every class from professor Schill. This class was a largely based on a group project, but it honestly was good because everyone had to participate and work together. He is a good teacher and makes the lectures fun.

I have taken or know most of the professors in the UVU business school and now work here. There are several good options but to make it simple, Ryan Schill (Marketing and Entrepreneurship) and David Waite (Accounting) are your two best and must take professors at the Woodbury School of Business. I LOVED this class! I am not even a marketing major, but it made me think about it... He is a great at inspiring students and the groupwork was so fun and eye opening while not being so difficult, it just challenged me to think in new ways
