The best teacher everrrr!!! absolutely loved his class and enjoyed it. Attendance is not mandatory but you have to go as he gives pop quizes. Very easy class you just have to pay attention to his lecture. BEST TEACHER EVERRR!!!!

He is fantastic. Really makes sure everyone understands. Need him to show more examples he will happily do so. He does give pop quizzes, not to difficult, but he will go over what is on them and ask if anyone has any questions or wants examples of anything before he hands them out. Great man, excellent professor, hard hard subject. do show up for each and every class and take notes on every word he says please because he's very very fluent and a super intelligent man but I could not comprehend some of the subject matter, philosophy is not an easy A or B

Ryan is one of the best teachers you will ever have throughout your educational career! He makes a complicated subject into a very easy one. If you struggle to understand he does not mind explaining again and again. Attendance isn't mandatory but you never want to miss Ryan's class, plus he gives pop quizzes. It was my favorite class to attend. He explains things very clearly to make sure everyone in the class understands the concepts. The textbook is rarely used. I highly recommend him.

Ryan was a great professor. Although the material may seem difficult at the beginning, he teaches it very well and spells out what will be on the tests. It is a good format to get you ready for more difficult classes because there are only two exams; a midterm and a final, and about 8 pop quizzes.

Greatest teacher. Will dumb it down for those who don't understand and makes it as simple as possible. He makes the class interesting and fun, just make sure you show up and take notes.

Dr. Showler took what I thought was going to be a rather difficult subject (Logic) and made it look like child's play. All his quizzes are pop quizzes and he only gives two exams, a midterm and a final. He also gives out two argument analysis worksheets that are fairly easy to ace. If you need to take a philosophy class to transfer, get Dr. Showler

I loved this class! Honestly in my top 5 favorite courses, but I am sure it's only because I had it with Ryan. He's hands down the most sarcastic and hilarious. He's subtle with his jokes and I thought it was perfect. The material is not easy, but if you just come to class and listen and practice you'll ace it. Missing one class can put you behind

I honestly don't know why the person before me rated Ryan twice and nothing from what he/she said is true! Ryan dos not give a lot of papers only 2 REALLY EASY assignments and you can do it in 5 minutes! And you do not have to read at all because he explains everything to you really well! There is NO homework in his class AT ALL! 2 quizzes and test

Dr. Showler is informative and entertaining. He gives great lectures and encourages Q&A in class. He shows respect and is fun to banter with, so class participation is fun (I normally hate it). There were no homework assignments, and only two quizzes, two tests, and one group project. Feel as though I truly learned (and retained!) the material!

I never rate professors but I have to for this one. Ryan is an amazing professor, he makes sure everybody understands the material. He makes it easier and his class is just so enjoyable. You will get 2 tests and 2 quizzes throughout the semester. Really fun class, I wanna take more philosophy classes with him.

Showler is a total bro. You'll do great as long as you show up and pay attention. However, he will roast students that constantly talk which is hilarious. There are only 2 quizzes, 2 tests, and 2 really easy argument analysis assignments. Definitely going to miss this class. I wish Showler taught every class I've ever had.

Very good class. Professor is straight to the point and makes the criteria very easy to understand. Very reasonable grader and you're guaranteed to get an A as long as you understand what's going on most of the time. Also don't buy the book. You don't need it ever.

Greatest Philosophy teacher I ever had. Id take him again and again because he has constructive critical thinking skills like no other. He opens your mind up to subjects that other teachers wouldn't dare touch. If you have a chance to take him make sure you do!

Ryan broke philosophy down where it is easy to understand it. Along with grabbing your interest while hes lecturing. Hes not boring, hes pretty funny, and he tries to make this material relatable to his students. As log as you pay attention to his lectures, and do what he recommends youll get the grade you want.

Dr. Showler is a great guy. Has a very dry sense of humor, however is a very good teacher. He is willing to help during office hours. Defiantly pay attention and take good notes. Most importantly, READ THE BOOK AND DO THE PRACTICE HE RECOMMENDS. Helped me succeed through rough exams. Highly recommend!

Great professor, one of my favorites ever. He's a super sweet professor and I definitely recommend him for philosophy.

Ryan, as he insists we call him, was a solid professor. Honestly, we had readings but you didn't really need to do them and there wasn't much homework. He is overall okay just kinda boring and somewhat arrogant. The class was easy though and all I had to do to get an A was show up and participate a little bit.

I had Ryan for Intro to Philosophy - he's a great teacher. The first 2/3 of the semester was basically just lectures, but I didn't find that to be a bad thing; The topics were interesting and Ryan's explanations were thorough. If you pay attention in class and take notes you will probably have little work to do outside class. Maybe a few readings.

Ryan is one of the best teachers I have ever had. His class was really easy. It consist of discussions , quizzes and a final exam. I highly recommend in taking his class. His lectures were understanble and he is very organized. He gives a lot of time to do the assignments. He as well answers his gmail very fast.

Duuuuuuude with 3 other classes I was extremely stressed and he was the only teacher whose class I didnt have to worry about. Extremely simple work to take care of once a week and no exams in his class. Amazing teacher really cares about his students

Professor Showler is an amazing professor who seems to truly care about Ethics. His grading is cool as well as he tells you why you end up with a grade that may not be 100%. One of my top professors.

This class is an easy A, with no exams, only quizzes and discussion boards. Although I do not like philosophy, I have learned a lot because the material is interesting.

Put in effort and do the work and this class is an easy A! Professor grades fast and responds fast. 100% recommend him!

Great and easygoing professor. The class included watching short lectures, powerpoints, and short quizzes. If you take notes and understand the gist of the material, you'll easily pass.

Hands down the best professor iv ever taken. We never even saw him live or anything and he was that good. His videos are all you need to pass the quizzes. Very clear the way he explains everything and very thorough. This is how all professors should be.

Professor Showler was incredible. His class was very simple and I learned a lot. Quizzes once a week, just watch his videos and you will pass. No final or midterm. Amazing professor.

The class was so easy. He gives you one quiz a week that is based on the videos that he posts and gives you 2 attempts to complete it. There is no final exam for his class. At the end of the semester, he opens everything up so that you can complete any missing work.

I love philosophy & ethics. His class is super easy, also he does not require a textbook which is a big $$ saver. His lectures are very informative & he explains things very well. You can tell he enjoys teaching. Also, if you miss any assignments he lets you make them up at the end of the semester. Highly recommend him as a professor.

Really good professor!! The quizzes were really easy and straightforward as well as his discussion boards.

Loved the discussion boards, they were basically graded by just giving a simple response. Quizzes were easy just look through the book if you start struggling.

Took 131 - Logic, all work is posted for the semester and you can work at your own pace, very nice guy, a good class. Tests are difficult, but if you watch his videos and read the material you will be fine.

I loved taking this class online. I was able to go at my own pace, which was great. Homework was usually reading a chapter, watching some short videos of the professor explaining and quizzes every once in a while, but have 2 attempts. Everything was pretty straight forward, if you watch the videos everything will flow easier. Great professor!

So easy man. He had a video lecture about the topic and lecture notes and a short quiz based on the notes and lecture. SUPER SIMPLE AND EASY. Great teacher. His teaching techniques were amazing.

easy A the easiest class awesome prof.

His online course is relatively easy. He uploads discussion boards and videos that relate to a small five question quiz. His discussion boards are graded off of participation and the reading and assignments he wants us doing from the textbook aren't mandatory but are suggested. He's very nice and explains everything well.

Best professor ever. A quiz every week with a detailed video. I learned a lot from him and you can tell he cares a lot about teaching. I had him for both logic and ethics and they were two of the best classes I've ever took.

I took Ethics with him and it was really easy. A short 15 minute video lecture from him and a 5 question quiz every week. Last four weeks of semester was a project on an ethical issue, does not take a lot of time. A couple of discussion boards. Loved his class!

Easy A. Great teacher due to the teacher is simply amazing, you can't fail the class. If you need an easy class and are usually busy, take his class. You'll love this guy because he makes things so easy. His work is pretty simple.
