He is totally awesome. Just don't fool around with attendance and your speach dates. But he is pretty cool and relaxed. I loved his class. I love his style!!!

took class online. extremely easy. most questions on exams were definitions. speeches easy. grades on the way to presents yourself. no reason on why you should get anything lower than an A. always willing to help. Most assignments given can be done in less than 30 mins, except for speeches.

I took a comm 101 online class with Ryan last semester. This dude is one of the coolest guys on campus. Mandatory to show up for speech days though! He grades a bit tough sometimes, but it's all in good faith. Super good at what he does, but sometimes has a short attention span. Loved his class though and would definitely take him again! A+

His tests are easy! The only homework he gives are vocabulary flashcards. The day before a test he does mini jeopardy;giving away the questions on the test. The tests are based on the vocabulary words, usually the easy ones. He is very particular about what he wants you to say and what he wants to see on your poster boards but clearly explains.

I kid you not, he is the easiest speech professor ever. I have compared with my friends. He actually understands it hard for us, and doesn't embarass or judge us when we fail! Don't listen to the people who say he is harsh on you if you are nervous your first speech then gets mad if you don't present. ITS A SPEECH CLASS. If you don't attempt to present at all OBVIOUSLY you're gonna get an F. He understands nervousness, but you have to try. He was awesome. Definitely recommend.

I took the online Hybrid for winter semester it was the best choice i could of done he is very fair and will tell tell you the day of orientation your grade depends on you

he is a great professor. easy A. do your speeches and try not to read off note cards and you'll pass all you speeches with an A. Never used the book only for vocab. his test are on vocab, he gives most of the answers a day before though. He's super funny and fun. also only get 2 days to miss after that when you missed its a whole later grade taken

Professor Smith is a great Professor this class was a Hybrid class, and he required 4 papers throughout the semester, along with presentations. He gets to the point and is very clear on what he wants and is available for students after office hours. Do the work and you'll do good!

He was hands out one of the best professors I've had here at Elac. I've always been scared to present in front of people, or even raise my hand in class & this professor was very nice and understanding. He is super nice & not scary at all. The speeches aren't that bad. Once you get threw your first one you'll get threw the last two.

He's sooooo chill that I would drive from Cal Poly Pomona to present in his class. I was really nervous on the 1st day of speech but after that I realize that it is SOOOO easy. Definitely take him. He has 4 online Quizzes & 3 exams. Each Question is exactly from Modules. "A" is guaranteed as long as you show up on presentation. Super easy quizzes.

I took the 8 week hybrid course, and wow best decision I've made yet. The class was extremely easy and straight forward. The quizzes and exams were very easy. I highly recommend him! he isn't intimidating, nor is he a hard grader. I highly recommend him 10/10

He's not a hard teacher and gives the work directly as said on the course online (hybrid) I personally thought it was going to be a challenge , considering it was hybrid and fear of speaking in public, but i got through with it. Grades fairly and should take his work seriously as those points add up.

I took the short term hybrid course. Professor Smith has good online material and provides great feedback. He is a good motivator. Be prepared, do the online work and all speeches and youll learn from his course.

Mr. Smith is awesome. He sounds/looks tough or strict on the first meeting. He'll tell you that you cannot attend other class meetings but you can. He'll let you if you have a valid excuse. He's not very strict in grading your speech. As long as you show up at least somewhat prepared. I recommend him.

I was dreading to take this class as I have social anxiety but it turned out 100x better than I thought it would. Everything is online except the three oral presentations. Very straightforward. Simple assignments. Easy to contact.

I took Professor's Smith Online Speech class for Winter. It was the best! Professor Smith has structured the online course very easy and helpful for the speeches. He has quizzes and exams that are straight forward. He has 4 mandatory class on campus once a week. Three out of those days were speech days. I recommend this class!

He is a grate professor, he explain everything very well. It's a very easy to get an A pass his class, you just need to do follow his prescription.

Took him for a hybrid online class. 3 speeches in total which consisted of 2 essays (he lets students use note cards for these 2 speeches)and one completely memorized poem. Great professor that does not like wasting time. Just try your best and you will sure pass the class.

His class is easy just dont leave everything for last minute. Practice your speech, when presenting look at your audience and make sure you read everything in the lectures its very important

This is the only prof that im rating. Took his 8-wk hybrid class, and he was super easy on grading. There was textbook but you can easily find the vocabulary/information in his lectures For the speech, hes the easiest grader that I ever know, look at his outline examples, just replace things with your information and try to keep saying in speech

If you struggle with public speaking I would suggest taking the 8 week hybrid course. He is a bit strict but helps you if you ask. I now feel more confident speaking thanks to his feedback. Honestly the 5 min of speech goes by super fast and usually everyone is just as nervous as you. He is caring and makes you feel comfortable while you talk.

Hes an okay teacher, really easy class honestly. The class is graded by 5 speeches; pretty easy , quizzes and 2 tests. He reviews the quiz/exam the class before the quiz/exam. Theres no reason why people should pass this with less than a B. You need the book and well skip the class more than 3 times u wont pass.

I hate speaking in front of people but honestly this professor made it interesting! You get about 4-5 speeches, 3 of which are major, and one poem that you must act out. Each speak requires an outline a specific!!!! Way. Super easy exams he helps you out a lot theres no reason to fail a test! 1 extra credit at the end but easy easy class!

Took the Fall 19 semester hybrid class which was an 8 week course. I recommend that class especially if you just need to get the requirement out of the way because it goes by super quick with Professor Smith. He is clear about what he expects and is available when you have a question or need help. He doesn't really help much if youre nervous though

Professor Smith was a great professor for Communications 151- Small Group Communications. His class consisted of group projects that impacts the world, which gives you a sense of satisfaction once the class ends.

I got an A! Easy exams n quizzes let's u get 2 tries. You gotta put effort into your speeches coz he grades them and if u suck, dont get shocked by a bad grade. 3 easy speeches! Watch his 2 vids on how to write n perform them and follow the sample outlines.

Professor Smith was amazing, as long as you read his modules and follow his specif instructions you will pass the class. He gives you an opportunity to retake you quiz if you don't do so well, but as log as you read the material you will be fine. He's amazing

Fairly easy and straightforward course. Make sure you read the assigned chapters of the textbook & modules for advice on how to prepare and recite your speech. If you take the hybrid version of the class make sure to show up and try your best since he will give you points for trying! Exams are open book. Genuinely cares and helps students.

Very fun professor, make sure to pay attention to any instruction given for the preparation of your speech. Practice your speeches!! After everyone is done with their speech he gives you back your paper with feedback which you should pay attention to! Study for the quiz, very easy, just need to memorize. Overall, very fun class and nice experience.

Took him for Summer during the Pandemic. His class was fairly easy. Total of 3 speeches and 1 completely memorized poem which we have to upload to YouTube and submit it. Weekly discussion post (minimum of 200 words) and quizzes. The entire final is pulled from the questions on the quizzes LOLL He's a nice professor. Just gotta put in effort.

I took COMM 101 online during quarantine with Professor Ryan Smith. He has office hours, but no mandatory meetings. This class mostly relies on self study. A textbook is required. There's A LOT of reading. Homework for this class is 3 speeches and lots of multiple choice tests. I would recommend his class only if you're good at learning on your own

If you do your work, this class is very reasonable and easy. He is nice and helped me a lot during office hours. He also grades assignments quickly and always answers questions quickly. A lot of students hate public speaking, and it's not my favorite subject either, but he made the class fun and I'm glad I had him as a teacher.

He is very nice and organized. Everyone gets 2 attempts on each test. He answers emails quickly and tells you what you need to do on every assignment. If you follow the example outlines this class is pretty easy. I dropped speech twice before I had professor Smith.
