Professor Spillman is AWESOME! if you have the chance to take him then do so!

He is laid back. He really wants to help his students learn. If you ask him for help he is more than willing to help any way he can. He likes to joke around as long as you are paying attention and doing your work. If you have a chance to take his class then i highly recommend his class.

He's encouraging and brilliant. He knows what he's talking about, but isn't a professor that believes only his way is the right way. He's open to others' ideas. Take him!

Mr. Spillman is a great teacher the only reason a person wouldn't like him is if their not doing their work. If you don't put in the effort he has no choice but to give you a 0 or half credit. There is a lot of work so just make sure you're staying up to date and on task. He's cute and he has a son he brought to class-so adorable.

I had Mr. Spillman for ENG 101, 102, and 205. The material is not hard at all, and he will gladly help you with anything. Stay on top of EVERYTHING, especially your readings. Do not procrastinate on your papers! You will definitely need your book for this class - annotations are a must. Great teacher, I would highly recommend any of his classes.

Spillman is hands down the professor you want if English is YOUR subject! He makes you think outside of the box for your papers. He also incorporates many issues that are happening in the world today (which makes learning interesting). Also, get ready for plenty of smart comments and sarcasm!

Professor Spillman is passionate about his job. Very strict on his attendance policy with absences and tardies similar to high school. I would consider taking him again, though he assigns A ton of writing, half of which i would consider ineffective in developing a better writer. Besides those, he's energetic and you'll find a way to relate to him.

I had Mr. Spillman for ENG 101. Flipping amazing! One of the few classes I truly enjoyed. Lots of papers, but they build on each other which make your major writing assignments much easier. Funny, enthusiastic, honest. I will be taking English 102 with him!

Mr. Spillman is the best English professor I have ever had. His assignments are straightforward and he offers up to 20 points of extra credit on major writing assignments. If you put in the work you will get a good grade. People who say this class is too much work have no idea what's coming in higher level classes.

I had Mr. Spillman's Dual Enrollment classes at White Knoll High School. English 101 and English 102 with Mr. Spillman were homework heavy, and there were lots of papers to write. Although the workload is tremendous, he was very nice and caring for all of the students. English 102 with Mr. Spillman was more interesting than English 101.

I took English 101 as a senior in high school. Overall, I feel as if I became a better writer. Spillman puts time and effort into making sure each of his students become better writers.

I will stick with spillman as long as I can. I would change my schedule to stay in his class. Hands down BEST English teacher.

Mr. Spillman is very passionate about writing, and tries to make all of his students excited about writing as well. Mr. Spillman is big on class participation, so he may ask you to talk and participate in class discussions. There was a good bit of homework to have done for each class.

He likes to make students think their own thoughts, so dont expect straight answers to generic questions. Great professor, not too easy of a course, but he is not a harsh grader. I took this class as a part of White Knolls dual enrollment program to get some college experience before I left high school. The class is not the end of the world, but it is a lot of papers to write. I recommend setting aside a reasonable amount of time to write. Mr. Spillman is also a very nice guy and he often cracks jokes and some of the like.

He is amazing, but don't think that you're just going to slack your way through the class. There are 8 SWA's and 4 MWA's, all which are extensive and require you to be creative and think critically. He is a very supportive teacher and is a student advocate. He has various teaching styles which allow different types of learners to process the info.

Mr. Spillman is a wonderful professor. Yes, there are a lot of papers and readings but, he guides you through all the major ones. All of his topics are super fun to write about too. It is really an easy A and he cares so much about his students. I recommend his class to anyone having to take English 102!

Prof. Spillman was a great professor! I attended his ENG165 class over Zoom. He tends to respond fairly quickly to emails, even on the weekends. He started off every class with some music to wake us up (I had a morning class), and he tried to make the class as interesting as possible, poking fun at students with little hypothetical examples.

Your final exam is a reflection of what you learned in class. Reads a lot. Learn a lot of new things. He will let you redo A MWA for extra credit that is about 20 plus points. In Mr. Spillman's class, you will complete eight short writing assignments, four major writing assignments, two reading quizzes, and four discussion board posts, He also lets you redo one of your MWAs for extra credit.
