This guy is awesome. Teten is new to UL this semester. He in an incredible professor and his energy makes this one of the best classes I have had here at UL. In addition he is funny as hell and really knows his political stuff. He also attacks both sides equally which is rare in most classes. Take him before you graduate!

I took Dr. Teten when he taught at NKU and he is definately missed here. He is the best teacher I ever had. His classes are appropriately challenging and you will learn how to write great papers by the time you are finished with his class. Don't let the syllabus scare you. He definately helped me get into law school. Also throws great parties!

Dr. Ryan is an amazing professor! Class is always entertaining. He's funny, and very enthusiastic about his subject. Attend class on fridays because he'll give pop quizzes because of low class attendance. I would so take him again!

Nice guy, very smart. VERY HEAVY workload. We didn't get a grade until after the drop date then we had 3 projects back to back. Don't take if you have several hard classes. You learn very much though but tough couse

This was one of the best classes and professors that I have taken here at UL. The assignments took alot of work and really made me a better writer and researcher. Teten is incredibly smart, hysterically funny and keeps all of the discussion current and relevant to us. He is a MUST take before you leave UL.

Very smart and funny professor. The first two months we talked about the presidential election then we had 3 huge assignments. Commercial project was very time consuming. Grades (2)research papers hard but will prepare you for grad/law schools. Do not take if you are lazy but do so if you like being challenged. Hardest A I've ever made!

Already this is one of the best classes that I have taken at UL and I am a senior. The class was recommended to me by a friend and I am so glad. If you can take Teten while at UL you have to! He is incredibly smart and really funny.

I took Dr. teten last semster for the elections class. It was probably one of the most relevant classes that I have taken. Although the projects did come close together, it was largely due to the election study itself, as well as Teten's inclusion of us in the Congressional debate he organized. Great Professor, really cares, a must at UL.

This is the second class that i've had from Dr. Teten as an upper level class. The papers are agonizing, but really make you work hard. The class is engaging and much of the time is spent discussing current issues with the presidency. He also guides discussion without picking sides, which is rare here. He will push you, but it is worth it.

This is my first upper level class in political science and I hope that all the rest are exactly like this. Teten is great at making the most difficult concepts easier to understand. He makes you want to be in class and you can tell that he really really cares about all of the students. Take him if you get a chance.

Dr. Teten is awesome. This class is a blast and he gives so much info its insane! Make sure you take this for a great 110 in POLS.

Very interesting and entertaining. He gives a lot of information, but also goes off on a lot of tangents. Easy workload. Make sure not to miss class because he gives pop quizzes. We were supposed to have 3 papers to write but for some reason we didn't have time to do the 3rd one so he gave everyone a 100. He's easy on the eyes as well!

Very fun class. Go to class take/study notes and you will do fine.

Mr. Teten is absolutely awsome!!!!!!!!!! He's so funny and most of all he's entergeic. He's not all dry and boring. Unlike most political science professors, he actually makes the subject fun and interesting, plus he's easy to understand. Just read and take notes, and attend classes and you should pass. Great class for political science majors!

Dr Teten is a GREAT TEACHER and he knows his POLS! I had him for 2 classes and came out with high A's both times. It's mandatory you go to class and take notes because that is where you will get the basis for your papers. He will read your thesis and outlines which helped me to achieve A's in his classes. His papers are tedious, but not impossible.

This upper level class is one of the most interetsing and challenging that I have had here at UL. Dr. Teten not only forces you to work hard, his classes really explore difficult concepts. He also encourages participation and never talks down to students. Great class, great professor, TAKE HIM!

AWESOME teacher. I loved him, he is very intelligent and entertaining (not to mention hooot!) and I always enjoyed attending classes. Made me love political science and really want to take him again. Don't be late and don't text. He likes when people participate too. Loved him!

the most favoret teacher i have ever had. Hes really really funny, young guy relates to pop culture, good teacher, his test are just REALLY REALLY hard. Alot of studying and reading the book is needed to do well on his test

I'm a Political Science major, I hope to take Dr. Teten again for other classes. He is entertaining, funny, and the lectures are basically like watching an episode of The Daily Show. His class is very easy, and he does not demand too much. Even to non-majors I would recommend taking him for POLS 110.

AWESOME! That pretty much sums it up. Dr. Teten is smart, funny, easy-going, and laid back. (Plus for you ladies, he's easy on the eyes...but he's married, sorry) The paper topics are easily reasearched and he is a very fair grader, just do follow the rubrick and you'll be fine. I highly recommend him for any class he teaches!

There are no freshmen allowed in upper level classes, so i'm not sure what the other reviewer is talking about. Campaigns and Elections was one of the best classes I have taken at UL. Frost, Swanson and the rest of the UL pols faculty are awesome as well.

AMAZING! I looked forward to this class every week. Dr. Teten is very knowledgeable about POLS and will probably be president someday. The homework assignments are super easy and helpful. The tests are tricky but passable. Attendance is highly recommended for a good grade & why on earth would you skip this class?

This class on elections was one of the most eye opening I have taken at UL. Teten does an incredible job of clearly conveying info and engageing the students. He cares about us and our grades and improvement and is funny as hell. Take him if you ever get the chance.

This class was AWESOME!!! We got to see Fight Club, V for Vendetta and other movies. Dr. Teten tied these movies into current issue discussions. Awesome class, awesome professor.

Dr Teten is always really nice and willing to help you. He wants you to honestly have the best college experiences and doesn't treat you like a child. This class could be boring and a waste of time but he makes it worth it and interesting....and hes hot

Dr. Teten is probably one of the best professors at ULL. His lectures are always interesting, and he has a booming voice that will keep you awake if you don't agree. Great personality and very funny too. Tests were a bit hard and definitely require studying for.

Defintiely THE best prof at UL. He genuinely cares for students, actually teaches & makes the class interesting! Ive taken 4 of his classes now. He is an amazing guy who knows his stuff & will bend over backwards to help you! Some of the comments on here really astound me, you're in COLLEGE, do the work! Overall very fair & challenging.

Dr. Teten is the best there is. I've taken 5 classes & they've all been AMAZING. yes, he does challenge you & actually forces you to do work as a college student should. He never talks down to you, helps in any way he can & honestly wants to help you excel in his class. He is even willing to help you outside of his class! Great teacher & person.

Teten is the best professor I've ever had. If you can take him, YOU NEEEEED TO TAKE HIM. HE'S PERFECT. HE'S HILARIOUS AND SO HELPFUL AND HE LOVES HIS STUDENTS SO MUCH. A+ 10/10 would recommend. This was my 1st time having him & I took his 9-11 course.It's a media class with weekly research papers (8-10+ pages). He's entertaining but a hard grader [quotes& specifics are vital].I wouldn't recommend this class for folks taking 16+ hours. It calls for A LOT of take home research & can be an over kill. The plus side was that I learned a lot.

This was my first POLS course and I must say it was interesting and easy. No book was required, but you must take notes. I made a C because I didn't study, but this class is one to take. Oh and by the way he's handsome and he also truly cares about his students.

Dr. Teten is great. I took his POLS 110 and 390 (911). There's a big difference between workload, but if you work hard, you should be fine. 390 was media-heavy and required book reports and research papers; tough, but they're doable. If you work really hard and show him that you really care, he'll help you to the end. I try to take him when I can.

HE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR AT UL BY FAR! HE IS ALWAYS THERE FOR YOU! HIS LECTURES ARE REALLY INTERESTING ! HE EVEN HAD ME INTERESTED IN POLITICAL SCIENCE! FOR HAVING A 9:30 CLASS, HE DEFINITELY MADE IT WORTH GETTING UP!

I took him for Campaigns and Film. All we did was analyze movies. There are a lot of papers, but if you write well and follow his guidelines you shouldn't have a problem. He is super laid back and is just an incredible professor.

This was a political science orientation course essentially, but really gets you excited for the program. A bit eccentric, but passionate, which is a good thing I believe! Looking forward to taking again. This is a really easy 1 credit course and should essentially be a GPA booster unless you totally never show up.

Seriously do yourself a favor and take this class, even if you aren't a political science major. It's a GPA booster if anything. All tests (including final) are 50 question multiple choice & there are always review sessions. He's super witty & very knowledgeable on the subject that he is teaching. Always willing to help and provides a good laugh.

Without a doubt my favorite professor at the university. High recommended! In fact, I can't wait to take another course with him. He is not at all afraid to curse on a daily basis. No textbook needed. He tests straight from notes and there are study sessions.

Take Teten for 110, you won't regret it! He's hilarious and he uses that to make the subject matter interesting and easy to understand. Semester went as follows: takes attendance (you can miss like 3 classes), he lectures, you take notes. Three 50 question multiple choice tests based on notes. Little to no homework. Very approachable and helpful.

Dr. Teten was thoughtful & respectful in his approach to the topic: 911. We watched various documentariesmovies including Loose Change & World Trade Center & wrote papers analyzing comparing them. Also read books about 911 & analyzed them. Interesting class, met once a week for about 3 hours. Lots of papers, tough grader but helpful feedback.

Dr. Teten was my inspiration throughout my college career. He has written my recommendation for schools and been the wisdom I needed in important times. The best professor I have ever had.

My UNIV 100 was the Southpark class. It was amazing. We watched Southpark and then actually had intelligent conversations relating to Southpark and real life. This was my favorite class to go to. Please take him, you won't regret it. He's an awesome teacher and a roundabout good person. And bonus is offered. There are writing assignments but easy.

Class was on South Park so it was pretty interesting but lots of homework

Dr. Teten is awesome and exactly what you want a college professor to be! His lectures are so interesting because he's very passionate about Political Science. He provides lots of examples, and you actually learn a lot in class without having to teach yourself outside of class. Three tests that are pretty straightforward. TAKE HIM!

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Teten. This was his campaigns and elections class and although it was super interesting, it was one of the most difficult of all his courses. Im excellent at writing papers but never received higher than an 84. If you dont like papers, do not take him. Otherwise, he is GREAT and super funny

Great professor. He likes participation and tends to spend at least part of every class on in-class discussion. He grades tough but as long as you improve throughout thru semester you can make an A as your final grade. Definitely recommended.

Dr. Teten was very helpful & loves to joke around. He would always go into depth on any subject we were talking about and the class' atmosphere was great. Anyone could ask questions and he made the class fun. He never gave my class homework. Bonus points for wearing red on Fridays. Talked about current events. Laid back and easy to get along with.

Dr. Teten is my all-time favorite professor at ULL. In his 390 course (Volatile Political Issues and Film), we were assigned a film to watch, as well as related readings. The students were required to give a summary and reflection on each every week. When we met in class, all we did was discuss the issues. Amazing class, 10/10.

Dr. Teten is the most caring professor I've had in college. He is always willing to help his students outside of class. His classes require a lot of writing but in the end, he makes you a much better writer. The grade you receive is based off of how hard you work, so always go to class and be willing to participate.

I highly recommend taking his classes. Very knowledgeable, passionate, and extremely entertaining. I always looked forward to class. It is largely a group discussion, but don't stress about having to participate if you are shy because as long as you are still engaged you will get the participation points. Papers are tedious, but there are no tests.

No book - great guy. Tries to have un-biased stances on everything. He likes to keep up to date on current events. Test questions are DIRECTLY from the notes - so take good notes and study them well. Fairly simple to make an A if you study about 2 hours a week.

Loved taking Dr. Teten's class! He's passionate and loves to help. For this class we had maybe 3 or 4 mini-essays to write and 2 research papers with 1 project on campaign ads. He made class really enjoyable. I never complained about going to his class. 10/10 would take his class again!

This was my first semester at UL and Dr. Teten was by far my favorite professor. There are only three tests, multiple extra point assignments, and remember to wear red on Friday, each time you do its 2-3 bonus points on your exam. He had a great personality and made talking about politics and the U.S. government fun.

Absolutely amazing professor. He makes you work for your grade and he isn't easy but is very fair. Your writing will improve in this class and you will most definitely learn in his class. One of the best professors I've taken.

I was intimidated going into his class because I know I didn't have a strong background in domestic politics. However, Dr. Teten explains thing simply and communicated his expectations so you know what you have to do. He answers his emails pretty quickly so you don't have a reason not to do your work. Papers and projects are challenging but doable.

Dr. Teten is great at what he does. Every day he comes to class with a great attitude and drive. His lectures are not boring and keep the entire class engaged. He teaches political science how it should be: unbiased. You will not regret taking his class!
