Don't listen to the last comment. This person is probably lazy. This is naturally a hard class, duh! The teacher will help with any questions and he is a cool guy. Lectures are monotone, so you get really sleepy. Tests are hard too. Those are unpredictable. But w/ all Fs on tests, you can still get a C w/ extra credit and labs.

I was interested in Human Biology until I took this class. This teacher was tough and his lectures were pretty boring. He is new to this area and I am guessing that he taught at a higher level than Junior College because he would actually laugh at some of our questions as if we were stupid for asking something that he found to be so simple.

Dr. Itaya cares! He is very involved and devotes enormous amounts of his time to connect with students. He's wonderfully responsive, helpful, and goes the extra mile (and then some). I think anyone who realizes how much he cares, and takes the time to ask him questions will be very happy they did. He's clear and very fair. Highly recommended!

He's a great professor, but is very unclear and inconsistent with grading. On exams he wants a precise and detailed answers for such a broad question. Passing this class is possible, but be ready to put a lot of work into this class. I passed with an "B". I spent 40+ hours each week studying.

horrible teacher his tests are out if this world. he expects way to much from his students. he is no help in the labs when you ask him something about the lab he is clueless. he has a paper and group projects and video summaries that are of no use in the class. when you go up to him to ask him to further explain things he brushes you off. Everyone complains about Dr. Itaya, but he really isn't that bad. He's actually pretty chill! The class is hard only because there's a lot of material to cover. STUDY his power points, ask questions, do all assignments, 4 exams and final. No quizzes, gives extra credit. Test are tough if you don't study. Study hard, stay focus and you'll do fine.

Professor Itaya is someone who will always be there for his students. A lot of rumors go around out him, but at the end of the day if you put in the effort he will do what he can to help you out. He came in during weekends for tutoring and even during Spring break. This class is tough but it is absolutely passable if you make an effort.

This professor is very intelligent and knows his stuff. Biology is a hard course. I did very well on the exam because I'm a great test taker. Only 2 A and 6 B out of 81 rest failed. Do not take this proffesor. The mCAT and nCLEX are multi. Choice. His tests are way too hard than it should be. His exams don't prepare you for the future exams

My first mistake was choosing Itaya. Unless you have a photographic memory your not going to pass the class. when you ask questions he acts like your stupid. He does not give homework, no quizzes, no class work, no study guide. His tests are incredibly hard. His class average was a 49% something isn't right. Do yourself a favor do not take Itaya

Dr. Itaya is a very smart man, just isn't the best teacher. Exams are tough since the day one. If you aren't a serious student, please don't bother with this class. If you are, be ready for a difficult class. Material isnt hard, its basically memory but what hits is the AMOUNT of things to learn. No homework, ever. Can skip but you will pay for it.

All-in-all, physio is HARD no matter which teacher you take. It requires critical thinking and hard work. If you can, purchase a recorder that comes with speech-to-text software. I noticed immediate results, from failing to passing grades, the minute that I transcribed his lectures. It's hard to stay up and engaged in his lectures. Passed with a C.

I spent more time studying for this class alone than I did for any nursing class but that gave me such a strong foundation for nursing school and physiology. If you are willing to put in the time and go to office hours and ask questions and explanations, you can succeed.
