Professor Igbax is a great person and knows a lot about thermo, but he cant teach. I did not learn anything from the lecture and had to depend on the textbook and the homework (which he only assigned 3 and counted 2). Throughout the semester nothing was organized and the grading scale was changed more than a few times.
Professor Igbax is a good person, and he tried to make the class more interesting. However, he can't teach. He mostly read everything from his note. His handwriting is terrible. Throughout the semester, nothing is organized. he keeps changing the grade scale. He gives only 1 hw 1 week before exam to practice and solution to the hw 2 day before exam
Prof Igbax is a good person, but not a good professor. He puts in effort to teach the class + makes sure we understand, but he doesn't execute it well. He tends to read off his notes + explain it to himself, rather than to the class. He also has messy handwriting, + the class structure is unorganized. He has good intentions though
He is a nice person and you can tell he is trying but he simply does not know how to teach. He gave almost no guidance when it came to homework, exams, and the project. His way of teaching was realizing the projector did not work so he would literally hold up a sheet of printer paper to a class of 30-40 people expecting everyone to read it.
Overall, please don't take this professor. Unorganize class structure, no real syllabus or note, naming of note is a disaster, lecture is unengaging, just read off note while writing on board "to be hidden" behind monitor screen, no expectation on assignment from start, make up thing out of nowhere, change grading scale multiple time, messy exam
I have no noubt about Prof. Igbax's personal understanding of thermo and he's a genuinely good person, but his teaching leaves much to be desired. His notes are messy and all over the place, and in class explanations are filled with skipped steps and assumptions that students understand already. If you take his class, you have to learn on your own.
There was an exam Q missing info needed to solve. He released it for us to do @ home over weekend with complete info, due BEFORE next class met. Lectures, notes, emails, example and exam questions are all often unintelligible. You won't understand thermo after this class. He is trying and cares, but needs serious organization and structure. success
extremely difficult to follow -- his lectures have no structure and its hard to follow his own verbiage, the students get high grades, but mostly due to out of proportion curves and that the online hw is 30%, take any other thermo prof if you get the chance
Professor Igbax is a good teacher and person. The tests are particularly challenging because they cover topics we haven't done in class. He tries to see our problem-solving skills while grading, and there is a huge curve in the end. You would have to self-study this course because there are a lot of material to go over in a short time.
Saanyol Igbax is a very kind person, but an utterly incompetent professor. The class lacked organization, basic proofreading, and any communication. I'd say avoid at all costs, but he is currently the only option, so prepare to teach yourself from the textbook. I am considering leaving GMU rather than take Prof. Igbax for Fluids next semester.
Grading included 3 homework assignments, attendance, and 3 tests(no cumulative final). Homework and attendance was 30% of the grade. Tests were graded based on effort, often resulting in a generous curve. Passing is doable because of the large curve but to understand the class, you'll have to study on your own time because the slides were lengthy.
He is a good person but he is does not know the material at all. He is so unorganized, messy and do not know how to teach. His notes are all over the places and he has a very little knowledge about the class. I learn nothing from his class. Most of the time the questions he asked has problems meaning that he did not even check it before give us.
Cant teach at all. This is the second time I have taken him and he has not gotten better. He just rants and writes things that you cant read on the board. The only thing consistent about him is how poorly he teaches. Be prepared to use the textbook and any online resources that you can.
It seems that Prof Igbax is somewhat fresh to teaching, his lectures can be hard to follow and the his way of portraying the material seems scattered. I read the posted lectures and did the practice problems and feel that I have a good understanding of Fluids YOU WILL HAVE TO LEARN OUTSIDE OF CLASS, but he will grade you extremely fairly!
Terrible class tbh
Really Good prof, Makes you comfortable about the exams he tries his best to prepare everyone for the exam. Very fair grader. Honestly if you go to class and do the work you will be set.
Professor Igbax is clearly a very educated professor, however the time between assignments and massive weight of each makes consistently good grades difficult to achieve.
Professor Igbax is a cool nice guy. Only problem is his lectures are not very well organized. I learned more on my own than I did from lectures. He is a fair grader so overall if you end up with him it won't be the end of the world.
Self-taught course. Lectures will not do you any good.
He cares about the students, he lectures but it does not follow a plan, get ready to study on your own time.
Very kind professor and wants you to succeed. Lecture lacks organization and core aspects of learning, but will ensure you pass.
He is caring and truly wants his students to learn. He is very lenient with deadlines and loves to hear feedback so he can become a better professor. Always open to criticism and open to help as much as possible. He will go out of his way to help his students understand. Don't listen to bad reviews, just study and try your best and you will pass.
He really cares about the students and our success, but is struggling with the actual teaching part of the job. He wants you to do well, but struggles to actually convey the concepts and practice questions effectively.
Just make sure you pass its not hard, its just his teaching techniques are horrible, just be ready to read and teach yourself the whole semester.
He is a nice guy and he wants everyone to get good grades, which you probably will. But he cannot teach well, his lectures are confusing, and communication is murky at best. While you will probably get a good grade, don't expect to learn really anything unless you teach it to yourself on your own time. Try to avoid him, but not end of the world.
Class makes no sense, lectures are incoherent, and attendance is mandatory so its a waste of time tbh. The professdor is good willed, but the action is not good
They should take the class if they want comfortable in learning. I think he is cooperative and helpful.
Professor is incredibly chill and clearly wants students to succeed. He seems new to teaching, so his lectures are very unorganized, but he always asks for advice and ways to improve. As long as you are present and give enough effort in class, he will ensure you pass.
His lectures were very hard to follow but threw a pizza party after the final quiz. The textbook is necessary to study if you want to do well.
The course was well-structured, with engaging and meaningful exercises; such as group projects, in-class discussion, and problem solving. were effectively managed. Professor Saanyol Igbax maintained a supportive environment that minimized disruptions and ensured a smooth learning experience.
Good professor
Good professor, but must study yourself to pass class.
The professor tries to make everything as simple as possible, DONT be afraid to be vocal as he's extremely willing to adapt and change his methods. As long as you understand the fundamentals of what's happening in the problem scenario, and the equations relating to the situation, you'll pass.
The professor was very accessible throughout the class whenever I needed clarification on a specific point—also, he responded to emails within 2 days.

Getting better every semester. Don't be afraid to ask questions and talk to him, he is nice and cares. Exam q's and lectures are sometimes confusing, but he will do you right. Participate in class, and he will like you. Self-study is a must in many cases. Homework is large and infrequent. Start early to finish on time. He gives exam study guides.
Thermo is required for Me engnrs, but I recommend taking this class with igbax bc he makes it easy to digest and clear to understand class requirements. He cares for his students, and very understanding. He makes accommodations to help everyone. Also, his grading is very lenient, and he provides you with the tools needed to understand this subject.
A good professor who is willing to work with you if you reach out for help. Both practical and theoretical applications of the course were explained. The class was entertaining with videos and ready to make improvements.
He cares a lot about his students and will work with you on deadlines and homework.
Not the Worst professor but his teaching style was not for me, learn and understand the subject yourself should be fine. Easy test's for the most part, cheat sheet allowed, homework was easy overall an easy class with this professor.
Very nice guy, poor course structure. Homework is hard, tests are harder. He is very flexible with homework extensions and exam extensions, and is willing to move them on a moment's notice. He also curves like crazy at the end of the year. It will feel as you learned nothing from his class though.
You will have to put in work outside of class to learn the material, and he gives a lot of partial credit on exams. He mainly checks if you know what you are doing, not if you get the right answer. As long as you pay attention, do the homework, and attend class, you will pass. Extremely kind and will try to help you to get the grade you want.
Dr. Igbax has made substantial improvements in his teaching abilities very quickly. Even though I personally struggle with lectures in general and have many outside commitments, he was very helpful to me. The homeworks and reviews matched the tests well, and I thought the class was fair and taught me a lot.
The class is very understanding bc he is flexible. He gives very little homework assignments. One of the best aspects of the course is that the exams closely mirror the homework material, so if you stay on top of the homework, you'll be fine for the tests. Although the lecture notes could be improved, the class is easy
Professor was very thoughtful and understanding of my situations throughout the semester. Also, good lecturer and takes time to answer questions in class which is really helpful! Would recommend to take his classes.
I honestly think people are too harsh on Professor Igbax. He is one of the most kindest professors who cares about all of his students and wish to see them succeed. While the subject of the class is hard and it requires a lot of studying, it is easy to pass the class as long as you try.
Tests will have three questions, one of which is unsolvable. This is a reoccurring issue where he changes a textbook question then does not solve it. This also happens on homework. He is a kind person, but ineffective for a college level course. He did announce to the class that he wouldn't grade lower than a B, so you will pass.
Professor Igbax is a caring helpful person that works with his students. I took him for ME 221 and now for ME 322 his classes are hard but manageable. That's expected for thermo and fluids. Lots of homework and at home studying necceary but don't worry you'll pass as long as you put in effort. I would take him again, he's a compassionate professor.
Pros: Professor was willing to give extensions for late HWs as well as missed Exams even till last week of the semester. He is easy on grades and gives extra credit. Sheet sheets are allowed at Exams. Cons: Lots of Homework. Exams usually long. Professor is not so talented at teaching, but he knows the materials very well.
Professor Igbax is very helpful during the labs for experimentation. He also is willing to work with people as he sometimes lets people do a lab early so they can go to the career fair.
Professor Igbax is an amazing professor, he truly cares about his students. If you need help with projects he is always willing to help, and available outside of class. Class was overall well structured and easy to follow along. Would highly reccomend taking Professor Igbax.
Professor Igbax made ME321 a great experience. He explained complex topics clearly and connected theory to real-world applications. He took the time to memorize our group names and regularly checked in with us during labs, which showed he genuinely cared about our learning. I appreciate his support and clear communication throughout the course.
Professor Igbax is a legend. He has such a caring soul and really cares about your education. We had long conversations about the labs we were doing and why we were doing them. Graded our labs in a timely manner. As well as continuously updating us on the next lab throughout the week. Thank you Professor for teaching such an amazing class.
very knowledgeable professor that cares for his students and tries to provide them with as much value as possible
Caring and knowledgeable but class isn't organized well
He is a very fair grader and clearly loves his job. He goes out of his way to guide his students the best he can, He will make time to help you if you just ask for it. I have taken him for Thermodynamics as well before and loved his class. I took him for Fluids and Thermal Systems and Design because I love the way he teaches.
He is a very fair grader and clearly loves his job. He goes out of his way to guide his students the best he can, He will make time to help you if you just ask for it. His lectures are well structured and he is very approachable. I consider him a mentor.
The professor asks and listens to the student's advice to improve the class. The class is not really hard.
A solid professor. All his assignments are straight forward and exams are a good reflection of the lectures/homework. He's also willing to have a conversation and give you room for improvement
Professor Igbax clearly loves what he teaches, and it all is interesting material. Sometimes lectures are a bit long, but overall a good professor. If you don't understand something, just ask and he's more than willing to help you get there. Do all the homework, it helps a lot.
Pros: He offers extra credit along with extensions for late work. He is willing to help and trying to make students pass. He is open to suggestions for improvement. Cons: Lectures are a bit heavy. Teaching structure is not so engaging.
Often offers extentions and is very caring and understanding of students. Does a good job communicating any changes and important dates by email. Genuinley helps students learn and pass. Always looking for feedback and improvement. 2 exams, best 1 out of 2 quizzes, attendance, and a few homeworks.
Professor Igbax is very caring to his students, if you ask for help or clarification he will help you no matter how long it takes. He also is very accessible outside of class and wants his students to pass.
The Professor wants you to understand the material. He will challenge you with lots of assignment which will guide you towards passing the class. Class is important, revision classes are crucial. Overall a great professor.
Dr Saanyol is an awesome Professor who's super passionate about his students learning the subject area. He's methodical in his teaching approach and provides timely, concise and clear feedback.
My overall experience with the professor has been very good. I'd take another class with him.
Professor loves to explain theory dynamics. Gives assignment and essential feedback which is helpful. He is accessible, reach out to him when help is needed.
Very Cool | Explains difficult concepts in such an easy way | Open to feedback
He's a good teacher. Does minimum grading to help students succeed and explains concepts well enough so that we can follow along. The material isn't necessary easy, but we were in good hands.
Professor Saanyol Igbax is highly knowledgeable and presents complex topics with clarity and enthusiasm. Their approachable nature and engaging teaching style make learning both effective and enjoyable.
he genuinely cares about his students and loves to make conversation with him. he is always ready to help and his lectures are very clear.
Very nice and caring professor, very considerate of his students. The course organization could use some work, and his writing is sometimes illegible, but he is willing to help you if you have questions, as well as accept feedback to improve.
He cares about his students and tries to ensure that everyone passes the course. He takes the time to listen to his students and improve. His teaching style is also great, and he explains everything very well. He responds to emails fairly quickly and provides a lot of study material for the exams, which was extremely helpful. I would take him again
Fluids is a hard course regardless of who you take it with, but if you have the option to take Igbax, I would highly recommend it. He provides a lot of study material for the exams, and he explains concepts clearly. Fluids is difficult so you will need to study outside of class, but he goes in depth and explains rlly well
Professor Igbax is one of the most caring and understanding instructors I have ever had. He takes the time to make sure everyone is following along and explains concepts in a way that is clear and easy to understand. He provides practice tests that closely mirror the actual exams and is always upfront about what to expect.
Professor Igbax is very knowledgeable about engineering concepts and explains the material clearly. He's also very caring and wants his students to succeed. Overall, if you put in the effort, you'll do well. He's fair with grading and genuinely cares about his students' learning. I would highly recommend taking his class.
Fluid Mechanics in itself is not an easy course. However, Professor Igbax manages to teach it in a concise and easy to digest manner. His grading criteria is clear, his lectures phenomenal, and he is very understanding and responsive about any external issues you may have. Genuinely one of the most enjoyable professors I have had at this school.
Respected, always ready to assist!
the professor is accessible , and emphasis on real world call industrial applications
Very friendly
Prof Igbax gives useful feedback. He cares about students and is easy to reach outside class. There's a fair amount of work, but it's manageable if you stay on top of it. Great professor!
Good lecture
Dr. Igbax fundamentally cares about his students, and he is willing to go to great lengths to help you understand the material. Some parts of his lecture are a little hard to follow, but on the whole they're useful.
Do your work at the right time
Would take again
Be ready to put in the work.
Professor Saanyol demonstrates exceptional professional abilities, particularly in teaching. His engaging style, clarity in explanations, and structured approach make complex material easy to understand. He fosters a learning environment that encourages critical thinking and active participation.
He had a way of making course material that was difficult to understand and learn.
Overall, Professor Igbax is a nice dude. He may seem intimidating from the start, but he is overall caring for his student. His lecture is overall good as well. I recommend taking him for ME 221!
Ok, lectures are kind of hard to follow but he wants everyone to pass so as long as you put in some effort and talk to him you should be fine. I personally understood more from reading the book and he follows the textbook so you don't have to worry about any curveballs. Really great guy who just wants to make sure you understand everything.
He is a good proffesor, gives the material organised and makes sure everyone is folllowing. He solves problems in class so we can see the procedures and tells us clearly what is going to be on the exam and what not. I liked the course.
