Saba is a really nice teacher but the class itself is such a waste of time. DO NOT purchase any of the "REQUIRED" books as you will never need them. I made the mistake and all 3 books were sent back still in their wrappers. There will be a few group projects/presentations but make sure to ask Saba's requirements as they differ from the syllabus.
Prof. Saba is one amazing teacher. She really cares about her students. She is genuinely a nice person. She wants her students to learn. I highly recommend her. The books are rarely use. Show up to class and pay attention to what she say then you'll pass the class with flying colors. She is one of the sweetest teachers I've met in West coast.
This class is an easy A, she lectures about the basics of nursing. You only have one exam (really easy, didn't even study for it) and a few group projects that determine your grade. She's an easy grader and there's no way you can't pass this class.
Prof. Saba is a great teacher! However, this class itself is useless. We barely learn anything in this class. It's all common sense. There is no way you can fail this class. Only 1 test (midterm). Bunch of group work in class and outside of class. Most days in class are wasted doing 1 piece of paper (takes 20 min) the whole time in class.
Great instructor. Learned how to write nursing care plan. I wish we had more instructors like professor saba at westcoast university. She is amazing in helping students with answering any questions relating to this course or other courses. She always makes time and avaliable to answer questions. She used ATI and NCLEX questions in her
Great instructor. She is very knowldgable. Need more instructors like her at WCU
Great instructor. Learned how to write nursing care plan.

Amaing instructor. Need more instructors like her at WCU
Amazing and great communication skills
Great instructor, learned a lot from her. I was in her Nurs 210L RN skills lab & Intro to professional nursing. Great experience being in her class.
She is very caring and knowledgable. Always willing to help with anything
Great instructor. Need more instructors like her
Professor Jamalpanah is very knowledgable. She is always avaliable to help. She really understands and always explains in details even if the topic is not related to her class. Read my care plans and made lots of suggestions for another class.
She is amazing. Bring life experience to classrooms
Great instructor
I learned how to write care plans, assessment, improved my critical thinking. We should have more instructors like her.
She is very approchable. She always stays after class and helps students with questions relating to other classes. Really inspirational and there for students.
Students really love her. She is always there for you. She even gave me a recommendation letter and helped me get a great position after gratuation. She really cares about students.
She was the best instructor I ever had. She will help you with anything and encourages you. She is amazing, very kind and caring
She is amazing. Helped me learn and always avaliable even to teach you matterials from other classes that was difficult to understand.
Great instructor. Always avaliable
Amazing, need more instructors like her
Loved her teaching style. Makes it easy to understand and always there for you
Most amazing professor I've ever heard. To whoever that is saying otherwise, you obviously don't have any sort of good judgement. Wow thank you so much professor Saba for everything! I wish I could take her for every class.
She is a great instructor. Always availablee to answer questions. She helped me a lot with care plan as well as getting a job.
I had a great clinical experience. She was always there to help us learning new skills. I almost every skills in her clinical. I started IV, inserted foley cath, did suctioning, participated in code blue. Always there to teach us new skills
By far the sweetest professor in core nursing. She is gentle and kind. Her class consists of ATI assignments, a skit, a presentation, a brochure, and an exam. Even though a low of people screw up her exam, they still got an A.
She was one one the best instructions that I have ever had. She is super helpful, always available to answer any questions. She is very clear and easily understood. I wish I could take all my courses with her. Thank you Saba
Amazingly professional
Very caring about making sure i learned all the skills
Very helpful and caring.
She is a great professor with a lot of experience. She gave us all the needed information to pass the exams. If you attend her lecture and tutoring and take detailed notes, its not difficult to get that A :)
I'm honestly surprised she has so many good reviews as my entire class disliked her. Maybe because we are strictly online now, but she is a horrible teacher. Do not take her. She forgets to go over any homework and gives us a bad grade because we do it incorrectly. She gets upset if people ask questions, is so confusing. The class itself is bad too
Amazing professor! Youll learn so much in her class. Shes experienced and gives a lot of useful information. Nursing isnt easy in general so dont expect this class to be an easy A. Study hard! itll pay off.
I don't know why this professor has negative reviews but she was amazing and honestly a pretty easy A. She was super helpful during class and explained things very clearly. I had her online but I heard she's great on ground too. Listen closely during lecture and take good notes. I would 100% take her again if she's available!
She's awful. The most disorganized class I've ever been in. Doesn't explain assignments, belittles students, demeans you for asking questions, and has a general annoyed disposition. I was consistently confused and at a loss for what the assignments were. Not a good lecturer. Don't take this class.
do not take her. I am warning you now. Most unorganized teacher I have ever had. She does not know how to manage her time so be prepared to be rushed through your presentations and then yelled at for reading too quickly. Do not take her. Nobody even knows what to study for tests because she does not teach saying that would make it "too easy".
DO NOT TAKE! Be prepared to have 3 presentations, two being in groups. She yells at you if you read too fast so make sure to take your time. However, she is so unprepared and unorganized, presentations will be rushed and she will yell at you for taking too long to present and wasting time. She got off 4 groups because she planned class poor.
Do not take this Professor! I took her class based on her rating on rate my professor. She is by far the most unorganized Professor I have ever had. She does not teach, shes not clear at all about what is expected of the students and if God forbid you ask her to clarify something she will yell at you infront of the entire class. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Stay away from this professor! Taking her class based on the previous ratings here was a MAJOR mistake. She doesn't care about her students at all. You're basically on your own. She is disorganized and most of the time rude to students. She does't teach anything that will prepare you for exams. Worst professor I've had so far in the program!
I understand a lot of students don't like this professor. She is somewhat disorganized, but honestly, if you have a good planning/read the syllabus, you'll be fine. Go to lecture to understand upcoming assignments/clarification. Barely studied for the midterm and final and still ended up with an A. I wouldn't stress if you choose this professor.
She yells at students for asking questions. She doesnt like to be bothered and will reply to you to not message her. The midterm and final reviews didnt actually help and we were left with not knowing what to actually study. She never lectured about the class info and mostly talked during class. Shes just unorganized but easy A.
Professor Saba is by far the best! She is always willing to answer questions and help. I learned so much in her class. She is so caring and I am so thankful for everything her class taught me.
I learned so much from Professor Saba. She did one to one tutoring for me. She is the most amazing professor I had. This was a very difficult class but she was always there to help
She is an amazing professor and is a great supporter and is always making sure you are are doing well in order to be successful.
I learned a great deal from Professor Saba and consider her to be one of the best professors I have had at nursing school. She is always clear in her explanations, and is adamant about making herself available outside of class when help is needed. I look forward to working with her more as I continue through this journey!
Amazing Professor!!! She is so kind and helpful, I really enjoyed her class. She gave all the needed information to pass all the exams and the course. Make sure to pay attention to her lectures and take notes and you will pass.
Wow!! Professor Saba is beyond amazing and I am so glad that I took her Nursing 110 class! She has amazing teaching skills and she really wants her students to succeed. I am very thankful that I took this course and I would definitely recommend her!!
NURS 120 is a very difficult class, but this professor does what she can to make it bearable. Go to her tutoring sessions, study the PALS slides, and attend the workshops. Make sure to get 100s on all the assignments. Moving forward, there will be no proctored for this class, just a midterm! This is a new change that I wanted students to know!
If you care about school, DO NOT TAKE HER. She does not teach anything and blankly stares at you throughout your whole zoom session. No midterm, but 150 QUESTION FINAL!!!!. AKA: no information given for whats on it. She's unorganized, yells at everyone and expects you to show yourself even if you need to use the bathroom. Avoid at all costs.
Unorganized is an understatement. She is easy; the more detailed on assignments the more points you'll get. Follow the syllabus and rubrics. For the final watch Level up RN Cathy (Professional nursing videos.) Doesn't lecture well however, the class is a breeze. Complete ATI assignments ahead of time if possible, she is a very slow grader.
Hands down Prof. Saba is the best NURS 120 instructor. Her lectures are amazing and she teaches you what will be on her exams so make sure to listen very well. Also truly put time to attend her review sessions as those are crucial for her exams. She goes over key materials so you don't waste your time studying random things.
Class overall is easy and an easy A, however - if you don't plan on learning anything for this class then this is the class to take! She's nice but extremely rude if that makes sense. She doesn't respond to her students via email or remind. Critical assignments are SUPER EASY. She does not go over FINALS - you're on your own with that. DO NOT TAKE!
This class had to be the most pointless class I took. I did not learn anything. 4 hours on zoom for 3 hours and 50 minutes we were staring at each other and the other 10 minutes were used to explain even more pointless group projects that legit did not help with anything. 150 question final exam on who knows what. good luck if you have her.
5 Group Powerpoint Presentations. Very easy class. Does not go in depth when teaching topics. You will not learn anything in this class. Very easy A, would recommend for Nurs 110. Chill professor. Overall
This class overall is all about group projects. Professor Saba is very sweet and answers all questions.
Absolutely horrible! Does not give clear instructions. When asking for clarification you either get yelled at, or just left even more confused. She replied to messages that have been resolved with condescending remarks. RUDE to students. So disorganized. We didn't even know what was happening sometimes. DO NOT TAKE!!!!!!! Waste of a 3.5 hour zoom.
DO NOT TAKE HER!! her lectures are horrible and disorganized her exams don't correlate with her lectures and her reviews are pointless. I had her for 110 and I really thought she would be a great professor but she cant teach NURS120. Her class is very disorganized DON'T TAKE HER!!!
Although she was approachable and would expand on her instructions when asked, I spent the majority of this class feeling confused. There are many projects, each with multiple rubrics that contradict each other. The final is not hard, but you are entirely on your own. This class felt like a waste of time.
Bare bones professor. You will probably pass, but expect no kind of help from her outside of her reading you the powerpoint. Johnny's reviews/quizzes and blast actually helps in this class so do them.
You pretty much teach yourself most of the material, but I wouldn't rate this class as being hard. Take advantage of her tutoring and you'll do great.
I am doing well but oh my god the way this woman lectures literally sucks my soul from my body.
She does not teach well, however, she quizzes you hard.
Is everyone who wrote negative reviews mentally? She's literally the best professor ever. If you need any help with the class just ask and she'll be more than happy to assist you. This is one of the best classes I've taken in a long time. I would highly recommend and would take this class again anytime.
Professor Saba is the sweetest instructor. She is always there for her students. Answers all questions and is so supportive. I learned a lot from her and. I wish more instructors were like her!
Her class was very manageable. You must attend class, participate in group projects, and study for the exams. She cares so much about her students and is willing to answer all questions. Overall, I really enjoyed having her as a professor and would definitely take her again! Highly recommend!
Very sweet and thoughtful professor. Cares about the success of her students! Highly recommend
My only B at West Coast so far. Her lectures are useless. People do well because of Johnny and his quizzes. She gave 2 tests where the material was not covered ever in lecture and it tanked the class grades. Nobody got an A. She is nice, but it doesn't make up for everything else.
Very caring, available outside class, wants students to learn
Hands down one of the best professors out there. She is amazing and really cares about the students! Always communicate with her if anything is wrong.
She cares about students and wants them to learn and become great nurses. Approachable and knowledgeable
Her lectures are horrible and disorganized; her exams don't correlate with her lectures. To survive, pay attention to her reviews. I went for the reviews and thought of her as a great professor, but she can't teach NURS120. Her class is very disorganized.
Professor Saba's unclear explanations and mismatched test topics leave students feeling unsupported. Take initiative by reading the textbook, PP, attending reviews, and hope for test topics align with the information you covered. You're on your own in this challenging situation.
Very rude professor, its time to retire. Calls out student for the smallest things, like we are in middle school. You are on your own, make sure to attend the workshops and take notes of her review at the end of class.
This professor does not want to teach. She reads off of her slides and makes the lecture unbearable. She also always has mistakes in her slides, and gets mad when you point them out. Her tests do not match her power points and leaves you guessing every time. Avoid at all costs if you want to learn anything.
Lecture/slides do not correlate with quizzes. If you ask her a question, she will tell you to search for it in your Lewis textbook. The midterm & last two quizzes are ridiculously difficult, so make sure to get enough cushion because it dropped everyone's grades. Attend the workshops & do the practice quizzes religiously.
Very caring,
Learned all my nursing skills
Studying Nursing 120 with Prof. Saba was really great! She's a fantastic teacher who cares a lot about her students and makes learning fun and interesting
I highly recommend Prof, Saba
I thought nursing school would be hard
Idk half of these reviews were bought or fake. She is the most lazy professor and cannot answer an email to save her life. This is already one of the hardest terms and she made this course into a full time job. Poor lectures and no guidance for exams. Do yourself a favor and take Bernie and if McGregor is teaching, TAKE HER!
The reason why their rating is so high is because the reviews are fake. Her rating should be a 0/5, you need to avoid this professor, as she cannot teach and is rude. You will end up teaching yourself if you are her student. She gave everyone in her classes a hard time and quizzes are a nightmare. Good luck.
reads slides, takes 5 min per slide trying to come up with something to say, class must be silent and she must be the center of attention. if your deskmate asks a question, god forbid you answer she will get mad at you. she whistled at me to stop talking (i was helping a classmate), im not a dog, time to retire, too bad shes besties with the dean!
Reviews definitely are fake, many student withdrew. Her lecture is the worst I've had. I don't mean to exaggerate but I had to listen to other professors lectures in order to get some learning experience. She'll ask questions about the topic we're supposed to be learning that day. Rude to students. Honestly it's shady how she's still at WCU.
by far the worst teacher i've ever had.SHE IS RUDE. god forbid you have to explain something to your class mate she will single you out for talking. gave group projects about different diseases and would have us teach our classmates and then play nurse sarah videos for the whole class. if your struggling she will just say read the lewis book. RUN!
She's a money grab for the school so that you have to pay for an extra term due to the incompetence of someone who clearly can't teach. Don't listen to the fake positive reviews. The school doesn't care that people barely pass her class or drop. All this tuition for what?
This professor is absolutely amazing. I gained so much from her class and feel more confident in the subject than I ever have before. She was always approachable and went out of her way to make sure every student succeeded. I'm so thankful I had her as my professor because she truly made a lasting impact on my education!
always in a supportive and encouraging manner. Her teaching style not only deepened my understanding of the material but also built my confidence in applying these skills in real-world scenarios. I feel much more prepared to begin my career as a nurse thanks to her guidance.
Learned so much
Nursing school is not easy so if you are just trying to pass the class, do not take her. Must read and learn. She is an amazing professor if you want to learn. Participation matters. She does tutoring at nights to accommodate the students.
Professor Jamalpanah is an amazing NURS 120 professor. She breaks down complex concepts into simple terms and connects lessons to real-world nursing. Her lectures are organized, engaging, and supportive. She's approachable, patient, and truly cares about student success, making her class rewarding and impactful.
She is very personable and enjoys teaching. She also takes the time and energy to improve and make sure that we have a great learning experience.
Professor Jamalpanah is an outstanding professor who excels at making complex nursing concepts clear and easy to understand. She connects lessons to real-world nursing practices, helping students see the value of what they're learning. Her lectures are organized, engaging, and designed to keep students focused and involved throughout the class.
Her ability to combine care, clarity, and professionalism makes her class both rewarding and inspiring. Her dedication to her students' success is evident in every aspect of her teaching. Students leave her class with a solid understanding of nursing principles but also with the confidence to apply them in real-world situations.
Had a great experience in the class would def recommend anyone to take it
She is passionate and very knowledgeable. I would take a class with her again
She is very engaged. Her teaching style is very good and always made the complex topics easy to understand.
Take Saba very caring and will help you out a lot
It's barely midterms 2-21-2025 and I know class registration is coming up so I am writing this to warn you all…DO NOT take Saba! Under any circumstance DO NOT!!!The whole class failed the midterm. Her lectures do not correspond with the exams at all. DO NOT TAKE SABA if i could give negative stars I would.
Saba cares for her students. You have to study a lot. Read ATI, do practice questions, and watch Nurse Sarah RN on Youtube!! As long as you really understand the the topics you will be fine. Saba is so sweet and appreciates if she knows you're putting in the work. This class is building your nursing foundation so be ready to work very hard!!
She teaches 10% of the material. Its your responsibility to master the other 90% on your own. Her exams never correlate to any material she provides. Watch Nurse Sarah on youtube, she will teach you more than Saba ever will
She requires her students to give presentations as a form of credit to teach the class. Her exams never correlate with what she is teaching. Be prepared to teach yourself and leave the classroom confused. If you can choose another professor you should!!
Had no choice but to take her class after my registration crashed. Her tests are passable but confusing. What made it hard was her attitude, rude and full of snarky comments. I often left class feeling unmotivated and discouraged. Honestly shocked by the positive reviews. Proceed with caution.
WHATEVER YOU DO, AVOID THIS PROFESSOR! I just took her for intro to med-surg at West Coast (also do not go to West Coast, it's a scam), and she is the worst professor I have ever taken, and I have a previous bachelors degree. SHE IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST
avoid at all cost
Professor Saba does an excellent job thoroughly teaching the material and breaking down complex concepts in a way that's easy to understand. Her lectures are directly aligned with what you'll see on the exams, so if you stay engaged and study her content, you'll be set up for success.
Professor Saba is a knowledgeable and dedicated instructor who clearly explains the material and ensures her students are well-prepared. Her exams reflect exactly what she teaches, so staying focused in class and reviewing her content is key. She creates a supportive learning environment and truly wants to see her students succeed.
I highly recommend Professor Saba. She's one of the most effective and supportive instructors I've had throughout my academic journey, including my previous degree. Her passion for teaching and commitment to student success truly stand out. If you're willing to put in the work, she will guide you every step of the way.
I barley passed. if you have her its bc you got unlucky, no one willingly chooses her. She is scared to get in trouble by the school so she is not student oriented she just cares about showing up to get a check even tho she was more than 15 mins late to every class. This is a self teach class. Watch Nurse sarah and simple nursing on YT.
Worst experience. Horrible attitude. Played favorites. I asked her for a meeting to go over her lecture. She said "You need to know the entire material. Schedule an appt with NCLEX help center" and refused to meet me. one day I stayed after class, had a fear of failing she said, "it's not a big deal if you don't do good you'll retake the class"
