Does everybody have course outline??
Good professor... Does everybody have course outliiiine?

Probably the most understanding prof. around. goes out of his way to help you at ANYTIME!
The nicest teacher I've ever met. He genuinely cares.

Makes sure you understand before moving on. Do the tutorial questions and understand them and you'll ace the tests
get the old test and practice problems, he reuses the same type of questions
Very kind and understanding with his students. Moves at the pace of the class, and doesn't mind repeating himself if someone is unsure of something.

TRUST THE TEST!!!
Amazing prof! Real nice, takes his time to explain and teaches at a pace where everyone can understand!
His accent keeps you awake in class...
he's kind to students and using a very funny accent.
great!
Very good prof. Explains everything clearly, and a very nice person. Treats all students nicely
Great
awesome prof
I LIKED HIS CLASS! HE GIVES FAIR TESTS. STICK TO THIS ONE!
Listen past his accent and you'll find that he makes the material seem really easy. A very "don't panic" kind of guy, know what I mean?
Awesome teacher...you just have to adjust to his accent at first
good prof had tried very hard to explain his stuffs. however still quite difficult to really understand him. gives easy tests
He loves linear algebra, and wants everyone to understand what he is teaching. He is a very nice man and his tests aren't hard at all.
He's style of teaching can become very monotonous but his voice, never. He makes sure you understand what he's teaching but the pitch of his voice will drive you insane.
Chill guy! His slides are helpful and his tests are easy. However his voice can put u to sleep. My attention span was only a few minutes in his class.
Saban's the man!
If you want a good mark take the course. But the prof is not the smartest guy!
great teacher, he teaches much better than his wife. his classes tests are easy and he's a funny person. cares about his students.

Amazing Prof. Makes his notes available for easy learning. Tests actually relate to stuff u learn!
I took business calc and algebra, he is the reason I am now a math major. He is awesome and more profs should take note of his teaching methods for first year classes!!!!
nice guy, hard to follow
Calc is not my favorite subject but I also had him for linear algebra and throughout both classes I found him to be very kind and accomodating.
DA BEST PROF IN MATH... He IS DA Man!
Mr. Alaca, you rock :D
One word: SHABAM!!!
SHABAN ROCKS MY SOCKS!!! He's an excellent prof and his voice/accent keeps the class entertained for hours on end. I concur with previous rating: SHABAM!!!!!
awesome, great notes, has a helpful website. veyr nice guy, and keeps the class from being deathly boring. take this class if you have to take calc!
Excellent prof for calculus. Is great at teaching and also keeps the class entertained.
He's a funny guy
All examples he gives are absolutely relevant. No tricks at all. He makes sure that students do well. My marks have never been higher in any math course ever. He's the MAN. BTW, wondering where that unusual accent is from? Hes TURKISH! Do what he gives you, and you'll get an A guarenteed. I couldn't be happier.
Excellent teacher that will boost your marks if needed. Everyone gets an A or even an A+ if you come to every leacture and do the HW. He makes math very easy, and what can i say? He's incredible.
What an awesome prof!! I have never done so well in any of my classes before, let alone a MATH class! He explains things very clearly and goes out of his way to make sure everyone does well.
SHABAM!!! This guy was the coolest teacher I've ever had. He actually makes calculus fun and his accent makes it so much better. He is always there to help you, if you ASK for help. And his notes are clear, concise and ...if you're taking calc, take Saban's class!
THE BEST PROF EVER.
easy, too easy, but if u want A or A+, take the course from him

Talks kind of funny but the most helpful prof out of all of my profs, he actually waits and explains everything until you understand it and his notes are well written also.

he is the best proffessor so far.
LOVE this guy! he actually cares about his students and wants everyone to get an A!
Saban is the man. The last day of class for our 8:30 AM intro to calc class, everyone gave him a huge ovation. For a calculus class. At 8:30 in the morning. Need I say more? SHABAM!!!
He is awesome
The best prof, tests sere exactly what you study for no surprises + he tells you pretty much the exact questions that will be on a test. Explains everything very well. A+++
Kind of annoying.. the way he talks is hard to understand
Awesome!
An excellent teacher, he may seem a little bit over-simplistic sometimes repeating the same things over and over however at the end of the day you do the excercises and they are a cinch, while if you dont attend one of his lectures you WILL suffer because the book doesnt explain it that simply.
helpful
Shaban the man....that's what we call him. what an awesome prof.
Great prof, his notes are clear and he is always willing to help, his tests are easy and he is up for a laugh in class.choose him for sure
Makes the course extremely easy. His practice tests and exams are almost identical to the ones you have to write. Easiest A you will ever get.
he explains very clearly and gives you very good practice problems. he is always willing to help during his office hours. If you drop by, he'll divert his whole attention to you, be very kind, and very helpful. if you have the option, choose this prof.
WAY too happy--it's almost frightening. He'll be writing madly on the blackboard and then turn is head with a huge smile on his face. He loves to "play with his functions, his niiiice fonkshuns". His accent can sometimes be difficult to understand, but he posts excellent notes and is very willing to help after/outside of class. Great prof :)
Really good teacher and extremely reasonable. I suggest everybody take his class
haha he is pretty much borat.. funny guy - best 3 out of 4 tests counted.. which were easy.. i went into the final with an A and came out of it with a C - GO to the class or youll get demolished on the final
As a student from British Columbia, I have never layed eyes on a matrix before taking Borat's class. I ended up with 100%. Outstanding professor.
Absurdly long final. Completely unreasonable. Not even within possibility... Also, zooms through lectures with textbook on .pdf - skipping every proof. Not a good prof for upper year honours courses.
Amazing Prof...."You study 5 - 6 hours you get an A...if you dont get an A come to me and say i lie to you" :) Make sure to read his notes and do his old exams.
hard to understand, but no tricks on his tests. there are enough practice problems that are identical to the tests that a B isn't hard to get.
Utterly useless. Had to drop engineering due to being unable to pass this class. Had the same prof twice and couldn't change classes. He blasts through everything and gets upset with students that don't just get it right away. Don't bother asking questions. In fact, don't bother going to class. Just find a friend and study the book.
Saban is such a great math prof. He knows what he is teaching, and he is always there to make sure you also understand. The tests are all based on his notes, but for extra practice go through some problems in the textbook.
Solid class. I learned a lot about number theory and enjoyed myself in the process. The proof of a few quadratic reciprocity-related theorems took a bit of time; that was probably my least favourite part of the course.
Good Professor, he is the best helpful and giving good and complete notes, fair with his students.
1 word, AWESOME
Likes to help. Read his notes, and do the practice tests, they are very similar to the actual tests.
I found saban very difficult to understand. He wrote his notes word for word from the textbook which i found absolutely ridiculous. I would never recommend taking this class with this prof if it is not necessary. Overall a terrible professor and I hated going to his classes. I worked so hard and found it very difficult to get a B.
writes out theorems directly from book, occasionally adds some insight or motivation, sometimes tweaks the proof to make it simpler to understand. Very clear, steady speech, and excellent use of chalkboard real estate. Tests are very fair, requiring nothing more than memorisation of every proof in every lecture you he gives.
He's got an interesting accent. If someone is confused about the material he's teaching, he's not very good at explaining it a different way. The student must think outside of their comfort zone in order to keep up. Also the practice problems were labeled "section such-and-such" in the book which made it difficult to follow in any other textbook.
Reads off a PDF and does not ever do the math on the black board.
Kill me now! I ouldnt understand anything in class! I just read the notes I could have done that at home! Come on explain......
He smiles the most out of anyone I met throughout my entire life. He is a very nice person. He is really slow, but wants every student to succeed. If you stick to his course (not drop out), you will realize that he will reward you with good grades at the end of the course. However, if you are taking an upper year math course, I don't recommend him.
Smiles all the time because he loves math so much. Makes me want to attend the lecture! Reads off of a PDF, and does not show work on the board. However, he takes his time in explaining the material well. Practice tests are posted for each test, and sometimes have the same questions as the test. Posts solutions as well. I love this man.
One of the best profs I have ever had in first year. He is a really kind person and he cares about his students unlike other professors. He teaches you how to succeed in university and all you have to do is to study the material before going into the next lecture and you will be fine. Print PDF notes and pay attention in class and you will be fine.
Smiles a lot; he really loves math which is awesome. He has an accent and speaks really slow and repeats important and difficult information so everybody understands. On test days, he ends lectures early so people can ask him last-minute questions. Excellent prof!
I really liked how he assigned some mandatory questions and some optional questions so that you knew what was the most important. That being said, it's a lot of homework if you want to do well. Caring professor, but somewhat confusing lectures - I personally found the textbook to be more helpful than his lectures and notes. Tests/exams very fair.
Kind hearted man who just wants his students to learn and succeed. Show up to your lectures, do the suggested problems and you'll be fine. Linear Algebra is simple when you're taught by Saban. Avoid skipping tutorials, as the TA gives you the solutions to the problems and you will see repeats on the test. A small accent but he will slow if asked :)
He has to be one of the best prof's during this whole online mess. Really understands his students and repeats concepts to make sure you understand them, no matter how many times you ask. He really wants to see his students succeed. Due to online classes, attendance matters.
Prof. saban is one of the greatest and most friendly instructor who can ever teach you. his quizzes, exams, and assignments are pretty straightforward. He always extend the due dates for quizzes and assignments, even more than once for the same quiz, just to make sure everyone complete them.
Saban is the best professor in this term, he is very friendly and very patient to every student, no matter what questions you have, he will try his best to help you figure them out. Assignments and quizzes are straightforward, you can definitely do them if attend class and read his lecture notes. It won't be wrong to choose Saban!
I think this class would be a lot better in-person than online. I wish this prof had recorded his online lectures or made more comprehensive lecture notes for us to read. The quizzes and assignments aren't difficult, but I don't feel like I totally understand all of the material even after doing well on those.
The professor has a bit of an accent, but all you really need to do well are his lecture notes which are very detailed and provide lots of examples. His assignments are his lecture notes examples but reworded so they are very simple to do well on. Exams and quizzes are on MyMathLab and he uses the questions from the practice quiz bank.
His lecture notes were very well done and are helpful when doing assignments. He is very accessible and responds to emails quickly.
Got a lot of his examples wrong lol
Maybe this is just me because he seems to have a good rating on here but this semester (Fall 2022) me and all my friends have been unable to understand basically anything he teaches during lectures. If you can I would really try not to take a course with this man unless you HAVE to.
His lecture notes are not clear. While in lecture, he just reads off of his notes, which doesn't help. Definitely not good for people who need visual examples. I've taught myself all of linear algebra through YouTube. At least he tells us what will be on the test and it's easy to keep up with what lecture you're on if you don't go to class.
His notes are sufficient, he's terrible at teaching them but they're pretty clear if you just read them yourself. The tests are extremely easy if you do the minimum amount of practice questions. He also makes funny analogies
His teaching style can get monotonous at times, but his grading criteria is very clear and his tests are fair .
For his lectures, he just reads off some notes rather than teach on the board. But his tests are so simple and easy to understand... I would legit study the content last minute and still get high grades on the tests. This prof definitely makes Algebra an easy course.
This professor is amazing and cares about his students. Would take again for any math course.
Teaches by reading off his pdf notes, not really a point in attending lectures and it's pretty boring. He does stay after class to answer questions. The course isn't hard, you can self-teach yourself everything with Youtube. His tests are usually just his exercises that he provides after each lecture. Final exam was just his review practice exam.
Four quizzes 50% and a final test 50%. Pretty straight forward questions. He gave practice questions for final. Awesome.
Don't listen to others who say his lectures are boring. What matters is that his lecture notes are very concise and the questions on quizzes are almost directly from his notes. So just study and you will do fine
The lectures were a bit dry but covered all content well. Test questions are very similar to lecture slides with different numbers. Very clearly explained what kind of questions would be on each test and the exam. The lecture slides were well written and all I needed to study from.
He's a pretty terrible teacher to be honest. Reads from a PDF lecture notes so there is no point to coming to class. The lecture notes were pretty clear and I was able to teach myself well enough from them but it would have been nice if he had given explanations and shown us examples step by step instead.
Made what was on each test obvious, including the final exam, and very helpful outside of class
terrible prof, only reads off screen and doesn't answer questions properly!!!
Thick accent so hard to understand. he reads off of his notes without writing anything on the board. Notes are useless, it does not have step by step solution but rather just shows the final solution.
Can skip class because lecture notes are easy to read. Easy tests that you can get A+ in if you practice the lecture notes. Easily accessible outside of class and will never leave your questions unanswered whether its on email or in person.
I love his lectures! He gave many tips, inspiring me to learn more about linear algebra.
He is a great prof, he was always happy to answer all of my questions at the end of class, he appreciates participation in class too! His tests were more than fair in my opinion and the final was similar to the review questions. As long as you stay on top of everything and do the recommended textbook hw, you'll get a great grade! Would recommend!
honestly chill guy but has some things like a heavy accent and how he reads off his notes primarily. Unless a student asks a question about step by step solving he won't do anything on the board->Might complicate first couple weeks but tbh pretty easy to adapt to after. Super nice and open to answer questions. Tests match practice. Gives good hints
Awesome prof! Tests and exam are extremely fair and are just like the practice. Not too difficult too. In lectures he explains everything slowly to make sure you understand. Only downside is he goes so slow that it gets boring at times. If you overcome the boredom you will have no trouble with the concepts. Happy to answers questions as well.
He has a very kind heart, if you don't understand a concept he will go over it with you step by step, lectures are very calming lectures are posted ahead online I was worried about this class but he made me understand even the hardest concepts I wish I would take more of his classes you can tell he likes teaching.
Amazing professor for Linear Algebra. I went to every lecture where he explained the content with perfect detail. I would highly recommend taking this professor if you want an easy A+ in this course.
This professor makes Linear Algebra a breeze. Lectures are clear and he's always happy to help. Unstuck study was a game-changer for test prep. Definitely take this class if you want an easy A!
He mostly reads off the slides in lectures, but he also gives a lot of good lessons. He's an easy grader and makes sure you know exactly what you have to do in order to pass the class. If you have a textbook you can feasibly skip the lectures but he answers questions well enough that it is worth attending. Great guy, super kind.
Leaked 2 of his own test. So a win in my book.
Even though the lectures are boring and prof primarily reads off the slides, he does explain small details that I might not catch when reading through the notes myself. Very open to answering questions. 3 term tests + 1 make-up test, all with questions similar to the notes. Final was very easy, similar to the practice questions for the exam.
There are no surprises on any of the tests or final exam, he's very caring and his expectations are very clear. If you follow his advice for studying, it's pretty much guaranteed that you will do very well in this course.
Could not have asked for a better professor, especially for a class I did not have much background in coming out of high school (linear algebra). It is encouraged to go to lectures and ask questions afterwards, they will all be answered. It is evident that his top priority is helping everyone succeed. Test and exam criteria is always crystal clear.
Saban is literally a god at linear algebra as well as teaching it. There was a little hiccup with the final grades roll out but it was fixed within a couple days. I was blessed so hard to get this prof. He makes it very clear on how to do well and does not make any tricks or surprises in the course.
The exam went poorly and the bright space was hidden from my section before the exam mark were ever published and did not receive a grade until nearly 3 and a half weeks after the exam and showing up on my transcript way past the time to appeal date.
Prof has a sharp accent and wore a mask so it was hard to understand him at times. Although, he gave positive reinforcement when a question was asked and he was lenient on grading. Solid prof.
Awesome professor, really easy to understand the material just by going to the lectures and always tries to help students
Saban was a great professor! You can tell he truly cares about his students and wants us to succeed-- very nice guy. Only critique would be that his lectures can become boring as he solely reads from notes (that are very good) on his computer. If you have a question he is very eager to help and tries his best to help you out though.
He made great notes for the course and a great mock exam. However, upon going to the first few lectures, I quickly realized his teaching style was not for me. He just reads out the notes he made and it just didn't make sense for me to go.
Easiest class of my life his notes are good and tests and exam are so free. No point in showing up to his lectures tho, his accent is way too heavy to the point you can't understand it. You can easily watch a yt vid to explain the concepts
Gives course notes at the start of class, covers everything you would ever need. The professor is very, very, very open about what will be on tests as long as you go to class. The practice exam was nearly identical to the actual exam. Very caring, will answer any question, and knows his stuff. One of the best!
really good prof
Reads off notes, but said notes are extremely helpful. He has a pretty thick accent that made lectures somewhat difficult to understand, but also a clear passion and clearly wants his students to pass. Course is laughably easy, test questions are just as difficult as the lecture questions.
He has a thick accent and reads off slides. Exam and tests are exactly identical to the practice problems in the lecture notes and practice exam. No need to go to class, the notes are so amazing you can learn everything yourself. He also trys very hard to explain things and cares about you doing well. Best lecture notes Ive ever seen.
thick accent and read it off the slides but the class was easy tho.
