This is a very easy class. If you turn in your work two weeks late, she'll accept it without asking questions. This is a class for lazy people. If you want to learn something and have your work critiqued, you should consider another teacher.

I had a lot of help from this instructor that I felt motivated to move on to the next class. She helped me out in so many ways. In my class she helped everybody to see even if they needed any help. You were even allowed to turn your work in late and only five essays during the whole entire semester.

Along with over 25 years of teaching experience. Although she has an accent, she is very clear in explaining whatever subject is at hand. If you get anything less than an A, then you were not serious about the class to begin with. Great teacher, very friendly and accomodating. Will help whatever the case. Will help if u ask.

Ms. Rizvi is so easy, of course theres a lot of writing in the class (we had in-class essays almost every other day) but it wasnt all that bad. She didnt really read the essays, but as long as you knew how to format an essay with a good thesis then its a guaranteed A! =]

I like this teacher very much. If you do the essays and participate in class you'll get an A. There is a lot of writing involved, as you might expect. This is the second class I have had with Ms Rizvi and I highly recommend her. She is a VERY nice person.

I took both classes 1A & 1D in one semester. Both are easy, She skims through your essays and journals. If you NEED and A this is the teacher to take. In 1A you read King Lear. In 1D you will have to do an essay divided into 5 sections. Each section will require presentation in front of class. It is not as hard as it sounds. EASY.

Nicest Instructor Ever and very encouraging with lots of wisdom sort of like a grandma. Hardly use text other than King Lear. She is encouraging to me and she has love for people of all races.

This class has a lot of writing, but the teacher is pretty good about working with you. I work full time, have kids and still got an A in this class, it isn't that hard. I recommend that you make sure that you have the assignments clear, sometimes she forgets what she assigned.

Semester is not over yet but I wanted to rate her because registration time is coming up soon and I wanted to let whoever needs to take ENG 1D should take it with Ms. Rizvi. So far I have been getting full credit for all my assignments. Most are opinion and she gives you full credit as long as you do them. presentations are really easy too. easy A

She is super sweet, but she does choose favorites. I recommend not getting on her bad side. This class was very easy. There are a lot of in class essays, but they are just 5 paragraph essays. There were only two research papers. If you do not conform to her writing style (she likes intro paragraphs a very specific way!) you will have a hard time.

Class was only for 6 weeks and they went by fast! In class your either discussing pages she assigned to read or writing an essay. Trust me you get used to writing that an hour is more than enough time to write a 500 word essay. You write 2 mla papers, and she gives you plenty of time to do so. Highly recommend her class.

I took her class last Summer 2013, she is very helpful and she loves to tell stories, she fought for every one of our mastery exam and she showed so much compassion to her students and their personal struggles to remain in school, she understand how it feels to not have english as your primary language and she will help you pass. Easy A class.

Ms. Rizvi fights for her students. She cares and wants us to do well. Extra credit is often offered. If things seem unclear, you're overthinking. She is very simple but MLA format is what wins her over more than anything. She's a funny, sassy lady that wishes the best for us. Easy A!

Ms Rizvi is a little unorganized. She looses track of due dates, which can become a little confusing. Other than that she is great. She is very flexible and helpful. Just stick to proper structure when writing papers, submit your work in a timely fashion, and you will ace the class. Lots of writing, but its all opinion stuff. Two actual MLA papers.

Rizvi is a decent professor. She is NOT DIFFICULT. She gives mainly opinion based assignments. She offered extra credit. Just show up to class and do your work. This is an English class it will be boring, so make the best of it. We had 8 essays and 20 journals assigned for homework (which were opinion based). There are roughly 6 in class essays.

Ive token her three time English 78B,79 and English 1A. She is a very funny lady down to earth. She will push you to be a better English writer. Her assignments are not hard they are just a lot at once sometimes. She lets you turn in late assignment and doesn't make you sometimes. At the end of the day she wants you to pass but you got to put work

Mrs. Rizvi has a mother-children dynamic between her and her students. She really cares about us and will do everything in her power to accommodate our circumstances. You just have to tell her what is going on and she'll come up with a compromise for you. Just don't take advantage of her generosity because her patience can run thin sometimes.

I've taken her Eng class for 3 semester now and I love her. Caring and Easy A if you do all your work. She doesnt grade them and judge you. She actually help you fix your errors. Eng always have an ample amount of paper to do but take her, she's easy. She'll lecture so you can understand, then off you go to do your work. I love her!

get ready to do journals every class meet for homework. she is very understanding and will work with you as long as you put in the work. it gets overwhelming at times but communicate with her and you will be fine

This teacher is caring over all. she extends assignment when needed. Never is boring. Love class participation. She helps when you need help and spend after school hours helping students when possable. I took this class as a duel enrollment student. She trys hard to remember students names. I would recommend taking this professor.

I had Prof. Rizvi for both ENG 1A and ENG 1B (1B was online). She is such a sweet lady, and really cares about the success of her students. She is always accessible too, and responds to emails very quickly. The workload is also manageable, and youll rarely ever get quizzed. Stay on top of your assignments and this should be an easy class!

Really sweet! I am taking English 1B with her in the spring now as well. She loves to give extra credit and her workload is not too hard. The typical writing, essay, and discussion post assignments. She has this weird thing against EBooks but besides that I would recommend her!

Prof. Rizvi has truly been such a great help in getting me back into writing. She always makes a point to give feedback. Assignments aren't hard, but you need to do the work to pass this class. If you go the extra mile when writing she tends to give extra credit! Zoom meetings aren't mandatory, but she really enjoys getting to see her students.

Professor Rizvi is one of the sweetest professors ever! She really really cares about her class and wants to help you succeed! We only had like 1 or 2 assignments each week and all of it was fairly easy to understand. She also has weekly zoom meetings for anyone who can attend and she answers questions and goes over assignments. 10/10 recommend

She was honestly one of the best teachers Ive ever had I completely recommend her. I took this class online and I was nervous because I thought I would be overwhelmed but she had everything very organized and easy to follow along. As long as you do the work youll be fine! This professor has got to be one of the best teachers ever. Even though its my first year of college I don't feel as if anyone can top her. She is very understanding of late work and will always do her best to help. She offers a LOT of extra credit which was helpful for when I couldn't do some of the work. Trust, I am going to take her ENG1B class.

One of the best instructors I've ever had. She's super kind and so understanding. Expect two reading/writing assignments due every Sunday, an essay, or a discussion post. Meetings were on Zoom on Monday mornings, but were available to watch afterwards on Canvas. I had her for my ENG 1A class and I hope to have her again for ENG 1B next semester!

I had Professor Rizvi for summer school '22, and loved it. There's quite a bit of reading, so be prepared for that, especially if you're taking her as a summer class. There's a few writing assignments, such as discussion posts, essays/papers, and even a poem. She does weekly Zoom meetings and posts them afterwards. I would 100% recommend her!

Try your best and Professor Rizvi will reward you. She gave us extra credit points with each assignment depending on how much effort we put in. She's a good professor, her TA is a little tough on the paper but lets you resubmit with her feedback. But, it's a good class and you're basically guaranteed an A if you put in some effort.

Rizvi was a kind and fair grader, but her TA was tough and would subtract points for the littlest things. Hw was an essay every other week and then a discussion the other week, with journal entries every week. Rizvi would give a lot of extra points when she was grading. I think this class might be a tougher workload than other English 1a classes.

Professor Rizvi is by far the sweetest professor I've ever had. She's always motivating and gives you lots of chances for assignments. She's very empathetic and takes time to make sure you understand her assignments and easy to contact. I would recommend if you're looking for a stress free english class.

Professor Rizvi is great for first years/freshmen or anyone who needs to take ENG 1A. I say shes great especially for freshmen because she is very understanding and flexible AS LONG AS YOU REACH OUT. She genuinely wants you to succeed and tries her best to help you do so. She is also not intimidating and the work load is not hard at all.

Professor Rizvi gives many opportunities in order to excel in her class. If it is clear that you put effort within your work, she'll give extra credit! She also has weekly Zoom meetings, though not mandatory, very helpful as she goes over the assignment for the week and answers questions. Definitely recommend!

Definitely an easy class, there's 1 essay, then weekly writing assignments with a min word count, but she gives extra credit if you put in effort and meet her requirements. Very understanding with assignments, however, most the wording of her prompts are confusing and it is best to join zooms than email to get a clearer answer for any questions

I took both English 1A and 1B with this professor and it was worth it. Assignments are given once a week which are pretty simple with extra credit on top as long as you showed that you made an effort. She is also very caring about her students and wants them all to succeed with the best grade possible. I recommend this professor for an easy time.

I wouldnt really say she was a bad teacher she was a great teacher her ta was just soooo picky with grading she would dock you off points for anything she could find even one minor spelling mistake out of the whole essay will get you points docked off.

At first, I was worried her class was going to be really hard; however, the class was the easiest class I have taken so far. She gives extra points for going beyond what she asks for and gives extra credit assignments. I recommend her 100%!

Amazing professor. If you need help and have any questions, she will answer your questions as quickly as she can in her email. Very kind and thoughtful. Gives you plenty of extra credit to make up anything you need. very easy. Her assistant is a tough grader on the essays but can still get a good grade. I highly recommend enrolling in her class.

One of the best professors I've ever taken! I took both English 1A and 1D with her and she was very understanding. She held weekly Monday morning office hours for anyone in need of help. Only downside was her TA who is a very tough grader. Put effort into all your work and professor will give extra credit, especially for discussions.

Great teacher to complete ENG 1A with during the summer. Very manageable six week course so long as you are on top of the essays and start them when they are released. Offered weekly meetings to discuss questions and upcoming assignments / exams that were really helpful. If you write well you could also possibly earn extra credit.

Mrs. Rizvi is an amazing teacher! This was my first online college course and as a high-schooler I found her extremely easy going, she really does care about her students in matter of workload and how to challenge her students the correct way. I couldn't think of a better teacher for English if I had to!

This professor will give you grace periods and extend your assignments if you're going through hardships. She's forgiving and will help you pass her class as long as you're able to put set aside an hour and 30 mins a week you should be able to pass her class easily. This class does require 2 textbook so make sure buy them early.

I suggest taking this class online. She won't post your assignment online, you will have to jot it down when she assigns it in class. Her TA is a meticulous ass grader, she only grades the essays though. Overall she's chill and nice. Lwk a lot of writing and reading, but you get a week.

She is a very kind professor and easy going, the assignments include some amount of reading and writing but she gives us plenty of time to do it. We only had a few essays which werent too hard. She also allows late work to be turned in. Overall she is a funny and kind professor I have no regrets picking her as my first english professor.

Professor is great—assignments have minimum word counts, but extra credit for going over and putting in effort. Very caring, holds weekly meetings, and answers questions thoroughly. She is very understanding and gives students additional time to submit assignments, even if they have passed their deadlines. Assignments primarily consist of essays and reflection summaries. There is also a research paper, which I found to be easy. I appreciate that she allows us plenty of time to complete our assignments.

Professor Rizvi's class was very easy and understandable. I usually find myself not enjoying writing but the weekly journals were thoroughly enjoyable. Weekly assignments usually include two journal entries (200 word minimum each), and either an analysis assignment or essay (essays were 600 word minimum). Make sure to write extra for more points!

If I had to take English 1B again, it would be with Professor Rizvi. Professor Rizvi cares about her students and does not want her students to fail her class. As long as you read the books and do everything the assignments ask you to do, you'll pass the class without a doubt.

Professor Rizvi, is a caring about her students. She gives amazing feedback on the work that is given, and easy to understand. The one thing if considered taking this class is her TA, she is rude and she's is charge of grading one assignment throughout mid-semester. The TA wants the way that leads to her expectations.

Prof. Rizvi is sweet and helpful. If you have any questions, she'll answer them honestly. You'll be reading from the required textbooks for homework a lot. However, the grading was somewhat confusing, as there were no weighted categories. There's extra credit and the Goleman library, where the TA grading will help with your essays---very important!

Professor Rizvi is a best english teacher. It was very easy to pass this class. There is little homework even in summer which is easy to handle. She provides good feedback. You all need is to two textbooks such as Short takes and McGraw hill.

Amazing professor!

Her class was pretty easy and you could get an A easy. She has 3 assignments due on Sunday, and as long as you reach the word count, she gives you full credit. TA grades the essays harshly. I just made sure to always go over the word count for the discussions because she gives extra credit on those, and they make up for the points lost in essays.
