Awesome teacher. She is very helpful and her tests and exams are what she lectures - no surprises. She gives lots of homework but enough to make sure you understand and know what you are doing.

Best math teacher ever! I hated math, but after taking her class I not only like it but it is one of my best classes. If you have to take a math class try to get into her's. She explains everything clearly and if you ever have any questions just ask and she'll help you out.

I had to bust my ass in this class to manage a C. When it came down to the end of the class i study with her for hours in the math lab, she was very friendly and prepared. She's a crazy, in a way that makes the learning environment better, type of teacher. When it came down to it HW & quizzes were i big part of the grade. DO you HW & study forQuizs

Not being a math person at all myself, I was ready for a struggle, and though there is a ton of homework, Sabrina is one of the best math teachers i've ever had. She's very friendly and funny, and makes math almost (dare i say it) fun!

I liked her class because she was really organized and had a set pattern for all the quizes and tests. Math was really not my favorite subject, but she made it easy to understand. If you do all her homework, you will have no problems in doing well in her class. This class was no cake walk, but you will learn alot from her.

She was very kind, clear in lectures, gaved some homework but that helped me to get good on the subject. Quizes were not hard at all, if you do homeworks and come to class you will pass with the A+++++.

Hadn't taken math in 2 years and felt uncomfortable going in but she restored my confidence in math. Takes time to clearly explain things, tries to blend humor into her lectures, grades fairly and is very accepting. Highly recommend!!!

I think that Prof Newsome is one of the best teachers that I've ever had. Great lectures, understands your questions and answers them clearly and fully. I WILL be taking a class of hers again.

Great teacher. Very clear and easy to follow. Took it in the summer and had no trouble keeping up with her. She seems genuinely interested in her students and recognizes when some one is having trouble.

Excellent math teacher. Test questions come straight from notes/quizzes, so if you actually look them over then you should do okay. Good amount of homework but it prepares you for the exams. Would take her for another class if she taught stuff in my major. Highly recommend!

The only thing that bothered some people about her is her kinda high/squeaky voice; however, those who said this did say they got used to it.

i dont really care for sabrina as much as most people. but i am not going to make it a point to bash her, she is a good teacher, people think it is unncessary to do the homeowork but those 5 points every week add up in the end its like missing a test!! do the homework and u should be plenty preparred for the tests.

She is very nice. It took me a few weeks to get used to her personality. VERY knowledgable. She really knows her stuff. Show up and pay attention!! It is a hard class and you really need to focus. I suggest getting a tutor because the class moves REALLY fast. Lots of howwork. Don't be late for a quiz or she will not let you take it.

Excellent teacher. Organized, explains everything, loves math and makes you want to love it. Clear instructions, clear explanations, clear expectations. Doesn't test on anything not clear with everyone. She makes sure you understand before she moves on. Uses different techniques when a student doesn't get it until they do. Would take her again!!

She is one of the best Math teachers i've ever had. She loves what she does and makes it extremely easy for the unskilled mathematics students to learn. In Precal you spend around an hours worth of homework on each assignment, and it truly helps to save the quizzes and do some Chapter review problems for the tests.

Sabriana is a great math teacher. She takes math and makes it simple and gives excellent step-by-step instructions on how to solve problems. I personally struggle in math and I found her teaching style to be very helpful compared to textbook study, she creates her own problems and lectures. Heavy on the HW, and quizzes every week. She makes it easy for an intermediate algebra course. I noticed that she helps those who are struggling and that learning is easier by listening to her than just reading the book. Doing the homework and solving the book problems helped tremendously. I would have taken College Algebra from her but my major is nursing. Highly recommended.

Hands down the best math teacher ever!

4 exams (100pts each), 1 final (200pts), quiz almost every week (15pts each), homework every time and collected every week (5pts each). She allows you dropping one exam and quiz. It might sound hard, but it is NOT. She is really nice teacher and funny. You should take her.

She's a great teacher, some complain she's too cartoony, but she's teaching Math, which is difficult to learn and boring. She's animated to keep people paying attention. If you're in class, you'll pretty much pass, and if you miss stuff on a test, she'll check in with you to make sure your'e getting it. She's an awesome teacher!

She's a nice teacher... Very good-natured and clear about the class. The only issue is the 'MyMathLab' thing. I love math, but I hated it because of this program. You basically have to do your homework on the internet, and use a 'digital' textbook. I hated it... If you're a book & paper kind of studier, stay away from her classes.

Newsome is an awesome teacher! She's very helpful and welcomes questions. Weekly quizzes and homework. Drops one quiz and one exam. She talks really fast sometimes so things can get a little confusing but just ask her to repeat and she will. Need to attend class everyday or you'll get behind! Got a B in the class. She's cheery, pretty easygoing, clear, and smart. Also very funny and when ppl showed up late she was mostly lenient. She wouldn't let you walk over her though. Recommend her!

She deals out a very fair amount of homework and her quizzes and exams are very easy, if you just go to class. If you don't plan to come to class, take notes, or study, I don't see how anyone can pass this class. Professor Newsome is AWESOME, and loves Math. Currently in Sabrina's Math A class this summer and she is awesome. Makes sure everyone knows what they're doing and doesn't move on until everyone understands. Tests are very straightforward. No surprises. Lots of hw but it's not collected until test days. If you come to class it's an easy A. I never thought I'd enjoy going to summer school.

This teacher is awesome!!!! I really do not like math, but the way she teaches made me fall in love with math. Has 4 exams (one is drooped at the end of class),quizzes every week (which are extremely helpful, to prepare for the exam), homework is online, final exam is accumulative. Definitely come to class, do all hw and will be in great shape!!!!!

TAKE HER CLASS! She's amazing at teaching math. I've always been horrible at it but she teaches it in a way that really clicks. 4 tests and quizzes in between(1 test and 1 quiz is dropped). Definitely take her class, especially if you have problems with math. She will help immensely!

Take her. She doesn't make you buy the book just the math lab access code. She is very patient, she takes the time to go over each section and make sure everyone understands. She is fun. Makes math fun. There is a quiz almost everyweek but they are great ways to prep for the tests. She drops your lowest test and quiz score at the end of the year.

I was on my third and final chance to pass this class - I have struggled with math all my life - but due to her clear explanations and thorough lectures I passed this one. Sabrina is thebomb.com! She LOVES math so teaching it just comes natural to her. There is a lot of homework but it is all online. She will drop your lowest quiz score and your lowest test score. Great teacher!

I took Math A and D with Sabrina. I never thought I would ace a math class, but I did both times. I didn't use the textbook at all, but went to every class, took thorough notes (which she makes easy by writing everything out for you), and asked for help when I needed it. Professor Newsome is an overall lively person and is very passionate about math. Her grading is very straight forward, at times a strict grader, quizzes or tests every wedthurs, homework is not due until the test day, no textbooks needed only mathlab, tough class but attending the class, studying and doing the homework helps a lot! She is very quirky! Very clear on what is expected from you! She does drop lowest test and quiz so if you show up all the time a good grade is very reachable.

Math29 Precalculus. Sabrina Newsome is a super intelligent and funny person who grades fairly. Tests and quizzes reflect material that is required for homework. Her lectures are pretty easy to grasp, if you don't understand something just ask for clarification, she does NOT shame students for asking questions.

6 months ago, I hated math. After this professor, I've fallen in love with it. She doesn't screw with you and the test material is literally everything we went over in class. Questions? She's there. She cares. I've never understood math until her (made F in high school). She gives practical uses to math and explains clearly and concisely. 5 stars.

This is my second time taking her class. Best math teacher on campus. She is funny and a very great teacher. She makes things very clear and tests are on everything you have practiced. She has a funny sense of humor and she makes math fun because she is so passionate about it. I wish I could have her every semester!

Sabrina keeps math interesting with her jokes. She is so patient and kind to every student, but doesn't tolerate talking in class. I struggle with math but I did well in her class. Plus you only have to get to 85% on the online homework if you use my math lab.

P Newsome is amazing math teacher. She comes to class prepared and explains difficult concepts simply. She does not offer extra credit. But provides a doable amount of homework that always coincides with what will be on the test. One quiz a week that also helps study for the test. Awesome teacher. If you want to actually learn take Prof. Newsome.

The first part of the class I spent learning her grading criteria. She grades your work harder that your answer. I get most the answers right, yet I miss points on my work. Because of her I am more efficient at my math skills (speed and correctness). She'll give you an extra credit question (and the answer) on one of the tests.

Sabrina is amazing. Seriously. I took her for Math A and then again for Math D, and I passed both times. She wants you to pass, she doesn't want to make it as difficult as possible, she wants to make sure you understand how to solve the problems. Newsome was absolutely phenomenal! By far my favorite teacher since high school. I took a computer-mediated class with her but the way she had us take notes and the way she explained everything was so perfect! I would take her for every math class if I could!

Newsome is a good professor, however, I the class style was not good for me. We used MyMathLab online for our homework. I couldn't ever access the text book because the website wouldn't work. A month worth of homework is due the day of the test, (4 total in the semester). Quizzes every week. Lecture heavy. Gives 10min break halfway in the 125mins.

I loved this class! I enjoyed the lectures and she has a great sense of humor. There is a decent amount of homework, but not a crazy amount. My biggest tip is to do the homework. The quizzes and tests are often easier than the homework, so if you can do the homework, you can get a good grade in the class. (Trigonometry is now labeled as Math27)

She is the very best of the best, the cream of the crop. In Trigonometry, you do not want to miss any classes. Memorize all of the formulas, pay attention, take notes, do your homework and you will succeed. There are no surprises on her tests or quizzes. She is an outstanding educator & I have had her for 3 math classes & received an A in each!��

Trig is trig, but she made it better! Her passion for the subject is evident and she is very clear in her lectures. Due to COVID we went online, but she still managed to teach harder lessons w/ ease. OMG, I'm not great at math, but Newsome was perfect. She really helped me. Let me come in before class and work on hw problems. Never talked down, did have a lot of hw, but is a fair grader. Tests were graded fair too. Always responded in a fair amount of time to emails. Wished she taught calculus, would take her in a heart beat. Take her!

Best math teacher I've had. Clear lectures with a workload focused on tests and learning the material not endless homework. Graded on a point system so that wrong answers caused by arithmetic missteps are still given some credit if the formulas are in place. 8-week course is fast but if you do the homework you will get practice and learn.

Math tends to be the hardest subject for me. Sabrina's way of teaching has made it so much easier for me to grasp concepts by connecting them properly. She's organized and doesn't waste time. She's so clearly passionate about trig. I was so sad to see she doesn't teach calculus. I highly recommend her!
