Great professor. This was his first semester teaching Data Structs, so it can only get better from here on out. We had a midterm and a final, a few quizzes and 4 programming assignments. All were not bad and the book really helped with the assignments. I take my final in 2 days and expect to get a B or an A- in the class. Would recommend.

Great Professor. Personally feel like he understands all the material. Sometimes it might be hard to explain some concepts that would require drawings, but overall, everyone will do fine if you just listen and go through the powerpoints. Assignments are straight forward, but could be more challenging. Office hours are extremely helpful. 6/5

Pretty decent professor; the textbook is optional but get it because it helps a lot for projects + quizzes. Read the slides 10 times before a quiz and you should be good. Projects are really easy. Overall this class didn't require a ton of effort, and extra credit on projects + for coming to class. It's almost impossible to fail.

Guy's super nice and very lenient on grading, given that you show up to class and participate. The only gripe I have with his class is that EVERYTHING is worth 25% of your grade. So if you get 100's on everything, but get a 75% average on quizzes? You're getting a B. It's so stupid and I hope he changes it. Otherwise a good teacher.

Dr. Meena is a very nice and caring professor. Even though the lectures can get boring over time, all the material for the quizzes and exams come straight from the lectures. He's very fair about the exams and projects. If you pay attention to the lectures, you can get an A.

He really cares about his students. A lot of the material is covered in the lecture and if you take the time to understand the concepts he talks about in class, Data structures is really simplified.

Meena is the best prof I've had for any of my csci courses! He's extremely helpful during office hours and everything comes basically straight from his slides. I really enjoyed his teaching and even though the material can be boring, he doesn't try to make things more difficult than they are. He's funny and nice!

Funny guy. I used the textbook because I wanted to but his lectures pretty much always covered EXACT things on quizzes/tests. He was always very explicit about what would be on assignments. Projects were the usual in UGA CS.

Prof Meena's class was honestly pretty easy. The assignments he assigned were well in advance and you could work with a partner (like to divi up the work) on almost everything. The tests weren't too bad and overall he's a good guy. You don't have to pay attention that much, but I'd go to class if you could.

Don't think you can learn a lot from his class because it's always too easy. He turns coding into memorization. What he covered would be exactly on the tests/quizzes. He's a very very nice guy by the way. If you screw up, go to his office hours and you'll be fine.

Dr Meena is actually one of the most caring CS professors at UGA. His lectures cover all content and you can easily not read the book. His office hours are so useful so go to them! The coding assignments were self-explanatory and are not meant to trick you. Quizzes and exams wording can be confusing but nothing obscure isever tested on exams&quizze

Dr. Meena is a great professor. Covered all material during lectures so projects are pretty easy and you can tell he cares about his students' education. The only criticism is that, for being a Data Structures class, it can feel a little too easy, at times. But, you can always use external resources for the extra challenge.

I took this class during a covid semester so everything was online. Dr. Meena explains things clearly and really turns most concepts in the class into straight forward memorization. Grading is relatively lax for most of the class, although the final group project (20% of your grade) is graded pretty tough by comparison.

Midterm: 25% - Final 25% - Quizzes & HW: 20% - Projects: 30% Decent lectures. Constantly assigning projects. Most everything you need to know is in his lecture slides which he posts to ELC. Honestly a very average class.

The projects are tedious but youre allowed to work in groups of 2, so definitely use that if you can. Quizzes and tests are super reflective of lecture and will be easy if you go to class and listen. Dr. Meena explains the material really well and is very good at answering whatever questions you may have! I would definitely take him again

Meena's a good prof, and he's really good about answering questions in detail. You get a lot of extra credit for attendance and all his assignments are pretty easy. Uploads slides and goes off them for class, will also give you quiz and test hints in class so attend and you're set. He's also super understanding and helps as much as possible

Lectures are hard to understand sometimes due to his thick accent, but he gives out plenty of extra credit just for showing up, and for turning in all (five) coding assignments on time. Exams were closed note, but not that hard or annoying. Generally a better pick than most other professors in the CS department.

Most of the class comes from his lectures where he goes over slides, but I don't have a problem with that as he's educated and knows what he's talking about. The projects allow you to have partners and aren't hard. He also was willing to give our class extensions twice due to very fair and valid reasons which I have a lot of respect for.

Professor Meena is an overall good professor with good intentions. If you show up to class and pay attention, should be a breeze for CS students. Assignments can be pretty lengthy so starting ahead of time might be the only word of advice. Other then that, he wants you to pass so tests and quizzes are straight from lecture.

Overall, Dr. Meena was okay. Projects, homework, and quizzes often had unclear or ambiguous wording. He gave extra credit if you showed up to class, and gave free points for not turning in late work. The course PowerPoints and textbook use C++ code, but he approaches all of the content in a language-agnostic way.

Meena is a great teacher, but his organization and lecture speed is a bit too unorganized. However, he does care for his students. He tells his students whats going to be on exams Clearly, the other students have not been going to lecture because even though the notes are in c++, he explains how to do it in Java. Go to class and write notes!

-Gives quite a bit of extra credit -clearly says in class what will be on the exams -quizzes and tests are difficult so prepare well -TA's are kind of useless -attendance is not mandatory but recommended -Assignments can be challenging at times but get easier as you go along

Has an accent which made him a little difficult to understand but he offered extra points for typing your homework and there's a youtube playlist that follows his class well so as long as you watch a couple of those videos whenever you're lost you'll pass his class easily

Optional attendance, and one homework assignment every two weeks made this class not too bad, but he doesn't give the entire class time for our quizzes,which made them harder to complete.

Very lecture heavy, many quiz and test questions come directly from the lecture, not PowerPoints or book. I struggled to pay attention in class, so I relied on the book. After implementing four data structures, understanding becomes more prioritized than knowing how to implement the remaining data structures. Takes random attendance for EC.

Gives extra credit on random days for attending class and for typing your homework. Kind of fast paced but he does care for his students and is understanding. Allows a cheat sheet for quizzes and exams. HW every 2 weeks with a quiz about every 3 weeks. Just go to class and take good notes and do well on the exams and you should be fine.

Prof Meena was a good professor and I would recommend him for any class he teaches. His lectures weren't the best but he is very clear on what will be on the quizzes/exams. Also HW is easy and a large portion of your grade. I got an A- with minimal effort.

I had Meena in Fall 2022. He was a decent lecturer that pulled content from the textbook, and most classes are presentation/powerpoint heavy. The textbook is not required since he posts the lecture slides, but it is highly recommended for success in that class. He also took random attendance around 5 times applied as extra credit. Overall good.

Meena seems to actually care about his students and lectures, also just a likable guy. He teaches 2720 very math-heavy, but provides lots of resources. He was sympathetic and often worked with us on tight due dates. Only complaint is that the difficulty of the quizzes and tests is really crazy sometimes. Projects are manageable. Be ready to work.

Extra cred opps, like attendance, typing up homework, and turning in every project on time. Lets you work on projects with a partner, super accessible outside of class/piazza. He extended like three of our projects since we just communicated that we needed the extra time. Deliberately tells you whats on the quiz in class. Overall a great prof.

If you attend class you will do good. He gives a lot of EC at the end of the semester and gives EC for attendance. He is understanding of deadlines and frequently gives extensions. He explains topics very well in lecture also. One of the better CS professors.

Class is boring and difficult to some, but this man is the GOAT of the CS department, explains everything well if you go to class. tests and quizzes are simple in my opinion as he gives you the topics for each exam. Meena is the best CS professor you can get so take him

A lot of extra credit and genuinely wants you to pass/learn. Quizzes/Exams focus on what he said in lectures. Coding projects+hw are easy. He's kinda funny too, but lectures were boring. I don't like how his course is structured and the last chapter (which is the most important) is rushed. EZ A.

Show up to class, he takes random attendance that is optional but adds pts to a test iirc (maybe midterm or lowest?) He says what content will be tested on in class. Data structures swapped from being taught in C++ -> Java, and it shows, the material & examples he goes over is in C++ syntax and even one of the exam problems was in C++...

He's a good lecturer and gives a light workload. He kept a good pace and class was pretty engaging. His tests and quizzes weren't easy but the homework prepares you well for them. After taking Discrete with him, I also took his Data Structures class and didn't regret it.

Attendance is basically mandatory, but it is hard class if you don't show up. If you show up to all lectures and take notes you will make an A. He also gives extra credit for showing up and not turning things in late. He also cares about turning you into a better student. Great teacher.

Can do great on programming assignments, but if you don't study for the exams, you will not do great. Attendance is extra credit (go to every class and get the credit, miss one, don't get credit) Homework based on concepts and programming assignments based on structures.

Dr. Meena is an amazing professor who genuinely cares about his students. He offers a lot of extra credit (perfect attendance, doing course evaluations, not submitting projects late, etc). You must go to class and pay attention in lectures to do well on the quizzes/tests otherwise they can be hard. Overall, he's a great teacher and I recommend him!

One of the best CS professors in the department. He offers lots of extra credit including extra credit for attending class. Very understanding and knowledgable. Exams and quizzes are difficult and studying is required so make sure to attend lectures to grasp the concepts. Meena is very knowledgable and knows it can be hard so helps where he can!

attendance is mandatory, but gives extra credit for perfect attendance and submitting assignments on time as well as submitting hws online. quizzes are easy, but midterm and final are hard, so study really well for those. overall, he's a very good lecturer and good at explaining concepts.

Had him for Fall 2023. It was his first time teaching Algorithms, so his teaching method is still under development. Homework and quizzes naturally difficult due to the nature of the course; he allows cheat sheets for the quizzes and tests. Textbook highly recommended since practice problems help tremendously. Attendance taken for grade.

Meena is great. His lectures can be a bit boring sometimes, but he makes sure that you understand the concepts and he gives extra credit for a lot of things. Also, attendance is mandatory. Goes over topics well in class and the slides, hws, and projects are very helpful for quizzes/exams. Quizzes and exams are easy as long as you study a bit and make sure you understand the material. Took him for 4470 &2270. Take him for both if you can. In 4470, he allows a 3 page cheat sheet & quizzes are not difficult. The averages on all tests have been a B. He is very considerate.Attendance is taken almost everyday. Just take Meena for this class. Most people who take other professors for this class struggle. With Meena, its light work.

Prof. Meena obviously knows the material very well and provides lots of opportunities for extra credit, pay attention in class and you'll do well, otherwise this class can be difficult.

He is one of the best CS professors at UGA. If a student does not understand a concept in class, he makes time to ensure that they understand it. The way he teaches requires you to be an active listener but, he is not that hard to follow. There are a good amount of homework and quizzes, which are very good for preparing you for the exams.

Sometimes confusing to talk to but very caring and understanding of extentuating circumstances. Liked him as a professor a lot.

Take this guy for Data Structures. His lectures can sometimes be long and a little boring but you won't have any trouble on quizzes and Exams if you show up to class. Does a crazy amount of extra credit at the end of the semester.

Ok guys, so, Sachin Meena is a very good professor. If you attend all his lectures (attendance is graded so you should!) you will have all the understanding necessary to excel in this course. He can be funny and does ample examples on the board, so you are always up to speed. Projects are difficult but doable and extremely useful, right guys.

Meena is a great professor, always goes over concepts thoroughly, will tell you exactly what you need to know, and encourages questions. Lots of extra credit and partner projects, would take him again.

I really liked Meena's teaching style. He can be strict but I appreciate it as it helped me personally a lot. He is very fair and really does care about his students.

Meena is all over the place with his lectures, but he usually never gives you topics on tests you don't learn in class which is better than most. Homework and coding assignments are not hard, just time consuming. Tests are straightforward with some studying. I liked him enough to choose him for algorithms. The notes he posts are unorganized.

Really clear lectures and explanation of topics. Really pay attention to his examples, which is often how you will have to do the homework problems and in turn the exams. The content is tedious, yet Meena really tries to help students understand. His lectures about proofs are a little drawn out and boring but that's just proofs.

Pretty good professor. 4 HW's, 4 programming assignments, 5 quizzes, 1 midterm, and 1 final. Extra credit for submitting everything on time, attendance is required (4 misses allowed). Latter half of course content is easier than first. Meena has an accent but it's understandable. Quizzes and test ask very specific questions ask for time complexity.

there are 2 exams with 6 hws and 5 quizzes. attendance is mandatory but you should be there since the questions from hws, quizzes, and exams come from his lectures, especially the examples he provides. really good for algo because he is helpful in making sure all students understand since algo is really difficult.

Quizzes/Exams are easy if you study correctly, lectures go way more in depth than you actually need. Lots of content, but Meena is understand of this and does his best to spread out workload. Get ahead on homeworks and work on them as he is going over stuff rather than all at once at the end. Focus on being able to apply the algs, not the proofs.

We have 6 homework assignments, 5 quizzes, a midterm, and a final. One homework after taking the final. The TA lowers points for commas, but one grades well. Professor, talk about class in the first 15-20 minutes of your quizzes. Then you must complete it quickly. Attendance: 5%. He is alright because the others are worse.

The attendance rules were strict, the two exams were hard, and I got a lower grade than expected. But honestly, I can't even be mad. He generally teaches well and the grading is fair.

The class started hard but got much easier as the semester progressed. Going to class is vital since he drops a lot of hints for quizzes. You get a 3 page cheat sheet for each quiz and test. Not terribly great at explaining things clearly but he goes over all you need to know for assesments. Homework problems translate almost directly to assesments

Not sure why comments are bashing him harshly, he just takes attendance serious. It's hard to understand him sometimes, but he's my fav CS prof yet, and he explains material well. Tests are EXACTLY off lectures. He crammed graphs in the end and made final too early, but that's because the entire class voted for an early final right before the break
