I'm pretty sure that many of the other students would agree with this evaluation because she is such a sweet teacher. She's just started instructing in 2005, but already seemes one of the best DS professors like Saltzman or Miyaoka. Take her class, and add your opinion if you've already taken one. 2 Mids, 1 Final, and Power point in her class.

First off she is really cute and a sweet girl/lady (she's young). But she has bad enrish and she make many errrr (error) when teaching. I thought Professor Soorapanth was great. I went into this class worried because I understand DS412 is to be difficult, but Sada made it really easy. I would watch the prerecorded lessons prior to the actual lecture itself and that helped a lot! The quizzes are a bit difficult compared to the homework, but overall this class was fine w Sada!

DS 412 w/ Professor Soorapanth during the Summer. Online but she was always a/v for help through email. She explains things very clearly and it was easy to understand. Homework problems can be a lot since there are multiple parts to a question. multiple attempts for homework.Quizzes are harder than the homework

It's a difficult class. I had a hybrid class and most of the learning is from the lectures and not in person. Still, the lectures were straight forward and I have no complaints on the teacher, its just a difficult subject and you MUST make sure to dedicate time on.

I believe Profs. should care about the students success and understanding and I'd like to warn anyone thinking about taking her class. She makes it clear that she wants students to follow her instructions and not get outside help for hw or q's. However she gives a lot of trick q's on quizzes not taught in class or on the hw q's! warning!

she gives clear guides for the exams and the grading. She's very helpful when it comes to questions about the homework and the classwork. She actually cares about her students learning. you just need to pay attention, look at the slides that she gives you, and do/review the homework. because most of the problems are practice for the exams.

The professor is straightforward, using lecture time efficiently and answering student questions well. There were three tests that matched the homework (Pearson MyLab) 1:1, so there were no surprises. Participation by answering questions was mandatory, but the professor made it easy. There's also an optional final to replace a poor test grade.

Additional fee of $100 to access hw online. You get 2/3 chances per hw question, but lose 50% credit after the 1st attempt. She provides lectures to watch before every class and if you ask her questions in class, she'll just direct you to watch the lectures again without actually answering your questions. Found her quite condescending & unhelpful.

Took this class over the summer and the hw had driven you crazy. Make a group study with ur classmate to work out! Needs to pay extra beside the class tuition for outside source (Pearson) to complete ur hw. If u not pay, u will not pass the class, she grades based on the hw and tests. Be careful and Good luck! :>

There's stuff on the homework that isn't in her lectures so you have to read the textbook. She marks down if you participate and if you attended. I didn't participate and it brought my grade down :(. She allows cheat sheets because the exams are hard. Not to be that person, but Ivdon't like her vibe. The way she looks at me makes me feel judged.

Rare chance to participate, but it counts as a full grade. Hard to understand, and if you ask for clarification, she calls it a disruption. Randomly changes class times during finals week, and if you leave early for another class, you're marked absent. Unpredictable and unfair environment overall. Save your GPA and the headache and done take this.

Did not use class time well and always ended early, which was not good for learning. Attendance and participation are 10% of grade. Multiple attempts for most homework and extra credit opportunities are provided. Notes allowed on exams. If not for the poor in-class learning it would have been a good course.

If you read the slides and do the online homework, you can easily excel. The homework allowed five attempts per problem and included videos that broke down all the steps. We were allowed two double sided cheat sheets for each exam, which was more than enough. Participation's graded, you only need to participate 80% of the time to get full credit.
