She's a good teacher. She tries hard, even if she makes couple of mistakes and she knows it. Its her first time teaching so she's a little nervous but she's fun(and she's hot!:) I'd definately take her classes if she's still at Pierce!
Gotta admitt, not an easy class, not an easy subject. But, you can't ask for a better teacher! She'll answer all of your stupid ?'s, spoil you by providing all the notes you need, but the exams can be tricky. The exams of the other chem teachers are way harder. You have to work hard to pass. I got an A, but worked my ass off! Take her!!!!!!!!!!!!
she is the best teacher personality wise. it is her first year at pierce she she was really nervous teaching, i know cuz she told me. i loved that class and if you put affort there is no way you can fail the class. she is awesome and highly recomended by me.
amazing teacher! she is very thorough, she curves her tests, she gives you all her notes for rhe entire semester in a binder. i got a B in her class because of my lazyness, but if you study, you will do well in her class. take her!
Aside from the fact that she's intelligent, organized, helpful, and patient; she's also one of the kindest human beings you will ever meet in your lifetime. I have horrible test anxiety so I dreaded taking chemistry, but she made it easier to understand. There are very few teachers like her in this world.
I LOOOOOVE theis professor. She is the sweetest, most downt to earth person ever. She is very approachable and understanding. Her Chem 60 class is A LOT of work, but she is an excellent teacher. She is extremely organized and helpful. A lot of work though, so be prepared to work your butt off. Test are pretty hard, but doable if u study well.
She's young & wants to help and she loves her students. Knows material well, but would sometimes get her students lost. Her use of prepared notes from the book is a little confusing, you might want to consider reading the book. Very leanient & helpful, approachable. If this were any other subject, I would say easy A, but it's not, it's Chem.
If she learns to relate the material better she will be one of the best professors you can ask for, she is so down to earth. Bridge the gap between the lecture and the workshops! Second half of lecture should be more organized and used to explain the workshops and homework, it's kind of a free for all. It is hard to concentrate b/c she is so cute.
very patient in teaching the students until they understand the subject matter
Very Nice and helpful. Shes one of the few teachers that doesn't mind helping students. Has a set of notes to purchase, which makes it easier to listen to her instead of writing down everything she says
Awsome instructor... Chemistry is HARD, period. If you're looking for an easy person to give you an "A" then it will bite your own behind during your next chem classes or pre professional tests ie. DAT, MCAT, etc. She's very helpful. Loves helping. She's very understanding. She likes everyone equally. She wants everyone to undrestand the CONCEPTS.
She is the sweetest teacher ever!! You can ask her a billion questions and she wont get mad. She has a set of notes that u purchase for the class and the midterms and final are based off workshop questions. Make sure u understand how to do all the workshop Qs!! She is super nice. highly recommended =]
I took Professor Sehati for both Chem 60 and 101, so, obviously, I thought she was amazing! She's super smart, always willing to help, never intimidates her students, and is completely fair. Her lectures are very helpful, but I recommend you also read the book because it's a very difficult subject. One of the best teachers I've had at Pierce.
I love this Professor so much, she is truly one of the bests, i think the only problem with this class was that, we are copying as she is talking and teaching, but if she were to let us copy then lecture on it, it would be much better. I love this Teacher...
Prof. Sehati is really friendly! She does her best to help the class understand the material, although sometimes she can go pretty fast. It is recommended that you read the chapters prior to attending lectures. Her exams and quizzes are based from workshops. She does grade labs and tests hard, but she gives a really good curve in the end.
I'm not so sure about this proff. She's a little heavy on the math, esp on the exams. Blind-sided ya. And goes at a fast/pierce standard pace. One thing fer sure she's very approachable and can relate to the students. That's probably why she's so cool. Hafta wait and see how this class goes, and how terrific the "curve" is....
Prof nice/cute to yer face, does have another side. Will call people on things if she thinks they're a liar and say "don't lie". I found this offensive since I had no intention of lying. Only hears what she wants to hear, not a good listener, little biased. Sometimes answer q's on HW with another handout, not helpful. Still better than most prof's.
This class is a breeze. Guys, I dont recommend u take notes in class, for you will come to learn that she makes it almost god damn impossible with that cute bod of hers! Trust me. seductive as hell. Just make sure she doesnt catch you checking her out. lol.
you guys lucky if u even got to enroll in her class. Pierce doesnt deserve her neither do u. She's a great teacher. and if u think she's hard, I recommend u to get outta of whatever major u are and get into Art Major of some sort. I recently gave my Graduate School Exam and everything I knew in the Gchem section was because of HER. She's amazing.
Hey. Yeahh.Hey, Hey,Hey.Woo, Woo. Miss Sehati, Miss Sehati, And when I'm in that class, she'll make that body sang.Wee Ooh Wee Ooh Wee (Wee),Wee Ooh Wee Ooh Wee (Wee). I got stuck by a lady prof. Ha Ha. she got me thinking I can date a prof. Ha Ha. cause her true religions are so tight. She taught me the orbitals, pH and little rate laws.
This proff is good all around in general, however she likes to put a few trick q's on tests which throw ya off. She's also very heavy on the math. I struggled even with tutoring 3xs a week with the math. Is fast at Piece standards. Grades hard, stressfull holding out till the end, however saves the day with that curve of hers. whew, I made it.
AMAZING!!!!! After 18 years of schooling, I can confidently say Ms. Sehati is one of the BEST professors/teachers that I have ever had. I tend to forget professors once the class is over, but three years later I still remember Ms. Sehati because of her extraordinary teaching skills, knowledge of the material, and kind heart! One of a kind!!!
One of the best teachers i've had in my life.Chemistry's not an easy subject by any means; u need to put in the work, but prof Sehati is extremely approachable and willing to help u any way can.Really nice and never gets annoyed by questions.Easy to talk to and EXTREMELY understanding. One of the most helpful/nice people ive ever met.
Amazing Professor. So willing to help all her students and is readily available during class, after class, through e-mail and just about every other possible way. Truly enjoyed Chemistry because of her. Such a wonderful person and definitely worth taking. And don't let the name fool you, she does not have an accent so no worries there.
A very hard class (at least for me it was), but Professor Sehati is a good professor. She is definately a hot professor, and don't give up at the end... she does have a good grading curve!
very tricky test. Only way to make it in this class is if you are barely out of high school and dont have an outside life. Studied my A... off and still didnt get a decent grade after being a straight A student. Messed up my GPA
she's really nice.. but the class is wayyyy too hard. i'm sure she's better than most chem teachers at pierce but still... her tests are extremelyyyy hard. take ogar or soloff if u can
I did well because I tried. Its obviously not a breeze but it's not as hard as some ppl make it seem. She teaches well. more practice u get the better ull do on tests. Her tests may include 1 or 2 trick Qs, but the rest is fair. I had her for Lec only & for chem60. Use lec notes, workshops, & hw for practice, & if have time quick look @ the text.
Awesome Professor for intro. She has a notebook u buy for lec notes; great method! She often left out a lot of info when answering questions I had, there4 confusing me, but overall good teaching. Very kind. Quizzes are pretty straight forward. Tests are much harder, but definately doable. I say take her! And bug her with questions 'til u get it! :)
amazing teacher. as long as you are willing to try she is more than willing to help you. only tests on what she lectures on and explains everything very well in class.
She is an amazing teacher. I took her chem class but not really interested in the subject. She was so awsome, helpful, and enthusiastic as a teacher that I am seriously thinking about changing my major to chemistry. Her tests are just a little challenging but very fair. Study and you will get a good grade.
i couldn't believe some of the mean comments i read about her! she's amazing and very helpful. has years worth of patience for any questions, no matter how dumb they are. you purchase a notebook in the student store with most of the notes. fill in the rest with points. great method! tests are based off the workshops, so be sure to understand those
She is a good person and very nice, but her tests are quite difficult, and if you don't have the time to study, don't expect to get an A.
This class by far is not easy one bit! It's hard but doable...just study and even if it looks like your not doing so well on tests STICK it out dont drop because she has a really good CURVE! Hard but way worth it at the end! Sehati is also very approachable unlike many other professors...very caring
just take It!!
she is a great teacher. she is very helpful and will explain things like 20x...if you ask. she curves the whole class.
Very nice lady, but harder class. So don't take her. Very tricky questions.
Very tricky questions on quizzes and tests. Curves the class, but that won't do much. Instead of curving should just give fair questions. Don't take.
Amazing teacher, nothing but good things to say, understands the material perfectly, easy to talk to, put simply she is just an amazing teacher. Absolutely recommended!
She is respecful and nice, but lack teaching skills. Her methology is not focus on teaching chemistry concepts on depth. She is more focus in computer presentation of a chemical concept.
Chem is hard no matter who you take and this class is no different. However, she is very VERY fair with her grading. She understands that 90% will have a hard time grasping the subject. I should have gotten a C but she gave me a B. Very approachable, nice, and organized. She made me feel confidant with Chem. I wish I had her for 101 >.<
a lot of work. make sure you keep up with the work. great curve at the end.
Such an amazing teacher that 350 characters are not enough to rate her. I don't remember one day when she wasn't in a positive mood or lost her temper. Extremely friendly and patient. Study her powerpoints, go to lecture, do the labs. Any real college student can earn an A. She looks so amazing for her age, that I always mistake her for a student!
Had her for 101 workshop...extremely helpful, always cheerful, and her explanations have helped get me through many concepts in 101 that were confusing at first.
one of the best professors i have ever had, especially in chemistry
I had her for chem 60 lab and she is so nice and helpful! Just ask her for help if you don't understand the labs. Also ask her to check your calculations because she is picky about that and will mark you points off. Highy recommend her to anyone for chemistry!
Biochemistry is a hard subject, you need to study hard, her teaching style is same as UCLA , you need to study on your own she just go over her slides and explains a liitle but she wants you to know detail on her tests, very hard exams , class is on curve, she is very nice , try to go to her office hours
Professor Sehati is really great and actually takes pride in her job. She is amazing for an introduction to chemistry because she won’t scare you off. She offers a curve for everything. She is the best teacher I’ve had in my college career. Oh yeah, don't slack on studying for the final cause it was pretty hard. A+ Highly Recommended
This professor is easy and a great instructor. Make sure you studying, do online homework, do online quiz, and do well on the quizzes and midterms. Also, make sure to study for the final because the final was not that easy.
She is really wonderful in that she is very knowledgeable and conveys her knowledge very well. Awesome teaching skills. Makes you like even hard courses. Very fair grading.
Honestly such an amazingly clear teacher. Even when she was 9 months pregnant she has so much patience for her students. Study the lecture notebook like it's your bible. Her class is an amazing foundation for future chemistry classes if you plan to take them. The final was difficult since it was cumliative but as long as you study you're good.
Very difficult questions on the tests and quiz and does not give enough time to students on quiz or tests and when 10 minutes left to the end of the quiz or test she starts counting down says "you have 3 minutes ,you have 2 minutes "which is really annoying. If students write when she says time is over, tears down students paper or deduct points.
Dr. Sahati by far a best asset educator at Pierce. Study hard don't complain and find an easy path. She is the best professor for this class, now I'm ready to take upper chemistry level classes. Take her!
i toke her for the chem 60 lab, she is nice and but chem is not easy and she does not make it any easier for her students she lacks the way she teaches and just reads off the book, (in labs) she does not help you so basically you gotta do all that on your own. Her quizzes are not easy either she even tricks you with q's for a lab quiz's.
She went too fast she has a curve but its mainly for the people who can get by. Needs to slow down for everyone else. Try taking someone else if you can, can be temperamental.
Chem60 is a tough class. lectures are clear and the professor answers all questions, but if u don't already have an understanding of chemistry, be prepared to read every chapter u don't understand until u do. That's what I had to do. note taking is easy w the workbook required for the course and the labs can be challenging for the unexperienced
Professor Sehati is the best. Take her if you want to learn the fundamentals of chemistry
Chemistry is HARD no matter who the teacher is! If you are a science major take her she will definitely get you prepared for what's ahead in more advanced harder science classes. This class took up most of my time but that's just chemistry. If you want an A in the class you will need to put in the effort and study A LOT!!! Has an AMAZING curve!!!!
She is a lovely teacher. She cares about you and she make sure u get the lesson. She made me love chemistry, a subject that I used to hate. Wood take her again definitely.
shes a really good professor but you have to work for your grade.
She's simple and straightforward: I had her for a lab section of chem 60 and she facilitated with confidence. She's on your side, she wants you to pass and she'll help you out if you mess up (at least in lab). In my case, I was allowed to do-over an experiment in one of her other sections
Great teacher. She offers extra credit and a great curve, but you still have to study to get a good grade. Take her she makes things clear and understandable.
All this prof. does is read the slides word for word. The class basically ended up as an independent study. Students have to teach themselves the material. She does help if you ask questions, but often she misunderstands your question and ends up talking about something you didn't even ask to clarify. The quizzes are extensive.
Super helpful and nice, go to her office hours if you are having trouble. I had her lab and lecture, she was the best. She will help you in labs (if necessary) and doesn't grade to harshly. However, lecture has a lot material so you need to a whole lot. There are two midterms,a final, and weekly quizzes. There is also a more than decent curve.
This class is very challenging, especially if you don't have any prior background knowledge. The midterms and quizzes are extremely difficult, as she tends to throw curveballs on the tests and takes off a lot of points on minuscule details. At least the curve is usually high. It's frustrating, however, that a majority of the class cheats.
She is so kind, honest and an incredible professor. When she see you, she understands your situation. I love her so much.
Dr. Sehati is AMAZING! She cares and believes in her students. She's always there to answer questions. Very approachable and absolutely nice. For her lecture she gave quizzes(6) every other week, 2 midterms, and a final. She is a fair grader and will give points when you show work (even if you don't get the right answer.) RECOMMENDED! I love her!!
hardest teacher, and very stubborn. I was couple points away from an C. but she was just too stubborn to even give me an extra credit or anything else. do not take her, she talks way too much and she just walks on your nerves. I did so much in this class, its unbelievable. I've never done this much work for any class and at the end I got an D.
worst chemistry professor ever
GREAT TEACHER. Best I've had since I started going to the LA Community College District. Patient and clear when giving lectures, and super approachable. She has her own notes from the book, and tests off that (I never even opened my Chem book). Make sure you do all the online work (Mastering Chemistry/Quizzes) and do Pre-labs.
Sehati is an amazing teacher. Only reason I rated her as a bit hard is because of the subject itself-- chemistry isn't the easiest. But if you work for it, you will DEFINITELY earn the good grade. She drops the lowest quiz score. She curves the whole class in the end which really saves you. Absolutely loved her. I recommend! Explains things well.
Professor Sehati is a wonderful person. Chemistry is not an easy subject, but she tries to make it manageable. Do not take this class for an easy A. If you're willing to put in the work she will meet you half way. Drops the lowest quiz. Gives extra credit via test corrections. Not the best with email, but is still accessible. Personable.
Professor Sehati wasn't absolutely amazing, but she was adequate. She's very chill and approachable, however, lectures tend to feel never-ending and quite boring. Also, I wouldn't say that this class was hard, it's just what is expected of a Chemistry class. A lot of homework, online quizzes, and lab work of course.
Prof Sehati is the most amazing chemistry professor. She gives partial credit on quizzes where other professors would give you 0, she drops your lowest quiz. She dumbs down chem A LOT to make sure you fully understand it. If anyone says she's a bad teacher they are just simply lazy and don't care. You will never find a better chem prof than her!
She is really kind and serious. She helps you to be good.
I took Sahati last year for Chem 60. Now that I am enrolled in 101(a different professor), I am going back to her notes. She really is such an amazing instructor that provides her students with fantastic resources. The notes she wrote and had us follow along with are still benefiting me today. Take her class if you can!
I only had her for lab, but she made things clear and was very helpful. I recommend taking her.
I took her Saturday lecture/lab - 8a-5p, so you pretty much had to attend every class or you would miss out on a lot of information. Her notes are very clear and she explains things well. Just ask questions if you're lost and she'll clarify. She's a sweetheart and I would take her again without a doubt.
Taking this class Saturday, 8am-5pm was probably the worst mistake I thought I made. I worked extremely hard to get the grade I got, and with the amount of curving she did, I ended up with an A but probably should have had a B. The tests are heavy and you will need to study. Big tip: the final, STUDY EVERYTHING, not just the guide.
She explains everything throughly and whenever you are done with your work you can leave.
Recommend her for chem class. I love her because she is super nice. She also knows her materials so well and has the most organization lectures. It is an easy A class. You should take her if you care about your GPA :)
If you need to take Chem 60 take professor Sehati. I took her Saturday class from 8-5. The class was so long but she made it bearable. She is always willing to help and review if you don't understand. I highly recommend taking her.
I had both Biology and Chemistry as refreshers this summer and out of all the lectures, labs, and workshops, I must say Prof. Sehati became my lifeline. She is extremely approachable and presents instructions in a calm and harmonic manner. She doesn't just do her job she does what's right and she knows who is making an honest effort truly the best
I only had her for lab, but she was one of the best professors I've had! She clearly explains what you need to do, and she has a well-planned schedule of quizzes, labs, and submissions. She also has a few hints of humor throughout your time with her which is nice. Because she truly cares about her students, put in the work and you'll happily pass.
I took her for Chem 60 lab during the summer and she was the absolute best! She made lab very easy, straight forward, and fun! She would also explain concepts that my lecture teacher had trouble explaining. I would highly recommend taking her for any Chem lecture or lab as she is very thorough and kind!
Sehati was a breath of fresh air when it came to taking a chemistry class! Well spoken, she knows her stuff, and she goes above and beyond to break down terms and concepts so her students can understand. She is very visual, and will draw pictures on the board, diagrams, arrow, color coded problems. She is awesome! Don't waste your money on textbook
Professor Sehati is amazing. There are 6 quizzes, 2 midterms, and a final. 5 possible points extra credit on for each practice quiz on canvas. 7 extra credit points for midterm corrections. I didn't buy a textbook, just study from the lecture notebook. Labs are very straightforward, you can finish early most the time. Lectures are very good also.
If you have taken Chemistry in high school Id recommend you take the test to get credit rather than take this class because it is an exact review. We use Aleks online which explains the lesson in detail so attendance for lecture isnt necessary neither is the textbook. Extra credit quiz every other week. Lab is also pretty easy. Easy class overall
Very helpful professor during lab. She makes sure her students understand and goes through things thoroughly.
RUN! Before we switch to online due to covid-19 she was okay, after we switched online she lost her mind and kept us under a huge stress, we had a quiz every week, 2 midterm, and final which were 70% of the grade! However, the only good thing she made was the grade curve. Be ready to be under stress!
I took this class as an online class due to COVID-19 in the begging it was ok but when we switched to remote classes tests got more difficult, she did not even give us enough time to take our quizzes. She couldn't care less answering her e-mails! I do not recommend her online class!
She was super empathetic after I went through a family problem before finals, she accommodated me and every time I went to class she took her time to talk to me and ask me how I was doing, shes an amazing person
Shes awesome
I took Professor Sehati for lab and she was wonderful. She is very straight-forward about what she wants and doesn't try to trick you. Would definitely take a course with her again.
I had her for Chem 60 twice and she was very flexible, understanding about any situation and willing to help
Online classes are are so crazy with her. If your reading this professor sehati relax we are only in intro to chem. Please teach us better to by providing examples from homework in your lectures.
She gives so much work with so little explanation. The class is impossible to take online don't do it!
online class with this professor is absolutely horrible. she gives homework like its candy. she doesnt explain anything. the tests/exams are absolutely brutal and horrible. she also ignores you and barely helps you. you will feel like an absolute failure in this class because of her. even the brightest students are doing absolutely horrible
One of the best Chemistry professors. Very knowledgeable and so nice. I had her for winter semester. Before the pandemic the exams were easier. When we switched to online the only problem was the quizzes' timing which was very stressful. All in all, it's an easy A if you listen to her lectures and do the worksheets.
Seemed like a good choice at first but as the semester went on (taking this online during COVID) her lack of care for students really began to show. Trying to email and ask questions is a nightmare as she's not specific and usually gives a one-sentence response. Everything is asynchronous so doesn't specify exactly what she wants but grades harshly
If you enjoy struggling in a class this is the professor for you. I am about to finish this fall semester with her and I'm counting down the days. It seems like she doesn't understand that she is teaching a chem class online during a pandemic. It's an extremely difficult lecture/lab to take, I highly do not recommend.
I chose her after reading good reviews on this website. Ive never been more catfished in my life. She is the worst. She doesnt care about you, or that theres a global pandemic going on. Email her and you wont get a response for days. She give so much work and makes you do ALEKS ... its awful. This class is awful. Dont do it.
The worst professor I ever had. She gives you so much homework. If you are taking her for the semester please don't take any other subject. You won't pass this class. She kept the whole class under so much stress. Exams are proctored. Exams are Saturday mornings. If you email her she won't respond. Tough grader. Doesn't care about students.
I was conned into taking this class by the good reviews, which are not true. This teacher doesn't care about students or the insane and unecessary workload she piles on them. Emailing her gets you no where as she never responds. Time for tests is way too short and she even makes up her own elements! If stress is your thing then take this class.
Since COVID pandemic she has turned into a different professor that no longer cares about her students. Im really diss appointed because her lack of attention/ care for her students left majority of her chem 101 lab students to either receive a grade below a B. Im really sad that shes turned out to be like this. Average lab assignments were Ds
Avoid this professor. She is horrible. Gives lot of homework every week and proctored test every other week, midterm and final. For final you have to study from chapter one . No study guides. Makes up fake elements during tests.
We never even go to meet her. She gives videos of other teachers doing our labs. There is very little guidance but very tough grading. It takes hours if not days to get a response from her. There's no understanding that this is a difficult class taken on a difficult platform. I don't know how she ever got good reviews. This was a bad experience.
Worst Professor!
I took her chem 60 lab before COVID and honestly I really liked her and was very excited to take her again for 101. However, when lockdown happened and we went online she became a different professor. She will take forever to respond to emails so don't even bother. Her labs were super confusing and not fun.
lab and lecture in chem 60 and she was amazing, I was even in high school and still managed to get an easy A. She was very nice and caring but after we went online it seems like she is a whole different person, doesn't care a single bit about students and is overall hard. I had her for lab in 101 only, but I got lucky and switched out.
She is an amazing professor online. I cannot believe the things that have been written about her. It's simple show up to class, take notes, study and you will do great. The students that wrote negative comments about her give me the impression that they are just plain lazy. THIS class is only hard if you don't study.
Professor Sehati is a really sweet professor but her deadlines were always subject to change by the organization. She curves the final grades. the quizzes and exam are proctored and there is a small time limit sometimes. She will make sure everyone understands the material and is willing to rerun concepts. As long as you take proper notes your fine
Chemistry 60 is not easy and there is a lot of stuff, but this Professor makes students really tired. Before Covid, I heard positive feedback about her, but I am so disappointed now. She is super moody and always looks tired. She gets angry fast if you argue with her. In the exam time, she make us crazy. Do not take this class if you want peace.
I took her for lab, guys shes the sweetest. She is really very helpful when you need it. The labs were so easy because she explains them so well. I suggest you take her but I didn't take her for lecture so I'm not sure how she is with that.
I took this class in 8 weeks and I've never taken STEM classes before. I was nervous but she really takes the time to explain things if you ask questions/engage with the material! Don't be afraid! She's incredibly understanding. She's human and has good/bad days like the rest of us but she's one of the most supportive professors I've had at Pierce.
She's so sweet and understanding and truly good teacher. she is tough on grading but what she expects is very clear so if you don't check off all the boxes on her expectations then she'll deduct .5-1.0 points for little things.I had her for lab. i have a workbook to sell 50% off from fall '22. email me at kaskar03 gmail com I can meet you on campus
She's a very sweet professor and will help you no matter what. Took her for lab chem 60 and she was very helpful during lab.
Prof Sehati was a great prof. Her labs were simple and she explained everything better than the lecture prof. She has a pre lab check and quiz before every lab. She drops the lowest quiz grade and lab. She is a lot more lenient than most professors and responds to emails well. I would take her again but without her paired up lecture professor.
Prof Sahati is an excellent professor. Took her for Chem 060. She's so caring and flexible about due dates. My classmates often asked her to change the due dates for the assessments and Aleks. Her lab sessions are straightforward. She also gives her students credit for joining her workshops. She gives students extra credit for midterms.
amazing! everything a professor should be and more. she is very caring, non judgemental, is never annoyed to explain things with the same care for every student no matter what the question is. she goes above & beyond to make sure you understand everything & pass. lectures are amazing, lab instructions are CLEAR. take her for both lab and lecture.
Dr Sehati is an amazing lab professor. Her grading criteria is clear and she always explains concepts and labs thoroughly. She has 10 labs and 10 quizzes to go with it. She drops the lowest quiz and each quiz is 5 points each. I highly recommend taking her!
Prof. Sehati has to be my favorite professor. Her labs & lectures are straightforward & if you put in the effort, this class will be a breeze. the assessments can be challenging but overviewing the lecture notes can most definitely help. workshops are graded & useful because she can assist with whatever is confusing. she uses ALEKS. AMAZING PROF!
For Chem 60 being a very condensed course, Professor Sehati managed to make learning the content in 5 weeks a breeze. She really cares about her students and answers any question you have without making you feel dumb. Accessible in office hours. VERY lenient with extensions. If you are taking chem for the first time, I highly recommend taking her.
I loved being in her class! She was super caring and sweet throughout the whole course. She was charming when students had questions and helpful throughout the labs.
I took chem 60 with this professor during the summer and it was my first class at Pierce. Prof Sehati really does care abt her students and takes the time to explain anything as long as you ask. If you need more time for ALEX she will usually grant you an extension if ur taking the summer session. Try not to fall behind on lectures or Alex
I loved having Professor Sadaf as my chemistry professor. She cared for and respected everyone, gave time and dedication to teaching the material well to the class, and gave lots of time to help her students. I admire her for seeing her students as humans and treating us like one, even with her life outside of class.
Professor Sehati makes this condensed course a breeze. She's caring, explains concepts clearly, and is very flexible with due dates. Unstuck ai was a great supplemental study tool alongside her engaging lectures.
I love Dr. Sehati with my whole heart. I was so scared of taking a chem class especially during the 5-week course since she states "it's 4 times faster". I havent taken a science class in 6 years and I didn't do a good job in it, however Dr. Sehati made this class so fun, and made me enjoy chemisty. I wish I can take her for future chem classes.
Just lectures off the slides, felt like I could've learned better watching youtube videos. Always makes mistake on example problems would have students correct her. Exams were a bit challenging since they're out of 150 points. Wish I took a diff professor for lecture. Easy lab.
Professor Sehati is a very nice person. Honestly if you just do the work on time and study for the exams you will get a good grade. She was nice enough to give me a C, It was my fault for not trying, but she's a great professor. The lecture are very long though but she helps you alot. I took her in 2023.
I had Sehati for Winter Chem 60. It wasn't the easiest, the class moved very quickly. During lab, she was very nice and easy going. She is very nice and understanding, if you communicate with her she can extend due dates. Studying and practice problems are crucial for tests! Her tests were rough, but study and you'll do fine. I highly recommend!!!
The most amazing professor in the sciences! I was so terrified taking chemistry during summer because im not the best at math. After her class, I actually feel better about my math and feel prepared for chem 101. She is so caring, gave extensions, gave 1/2-1 credit even for wrong answers on exams (credit for trying). LAB was a breeze with her!
Amazing chemistry professor, took her over summer. It was pretty challenging but if you study the lectures you'll be fine. She goes really slow at her lectures but she records them so you can put them on 2x speed if need be. Labs are graded lightly and tests are not super hard as well. 100% recommend.
I got this class during the summer. Even though the materials are heavy, she was amazing and explained everything so good. I always hated chemistry, and it was so hard for me, but she made it understandable for me. Really recommended.
Professor Sehati is an intelligent, caring, and skillful professor. Her lectures were very helpful as well as the workshops. Don't expect this to be some light class though, you must still put in consistent effort and studying to get decent results just like any other class. I've never written a teacher review, but professor Sehati was just great!
I had her for lab and she's easily the GOAT. She's very forgiving if you're struggling in her lab. If you need an extension or to resubmit anything else, she'll gladly allow you to. She's very respectful and one of the better professors in the department. I would gladly take her class again if I could.
