I loved this class, and the teacher was the best. She truly made yoga not just a class but a new way to see the world.
She is really nice. Some days she works you hard n others are easy. She made me really like yoga n you will definitely see differences in your flexibility n strength. She does have little assignments, progress evaluations n the final is a report, pretty easy but why we need a report in a gym class, i dunno. other than that it was great
Awesomeness should be her middle name
she is amazing, patient and willing to help you. don't worry if you don't know anything about yoga because she's beginner friendly and strict on alignment. she takes her time to make sure you're doing poses correct and you won't hurt yourself in the process. overall i recommend this class with this professor!
This class was awesome. It was the only thing I looked forward to at the end of my day. She takes the time to make sure you're doing everything correctly and is very patient. If I could take this class every semester, I would!
This professor is very passionate about yoga. Because of her love for this practice, I was able to create a new found love of yoga in her beginners class. This professor is very helpful and will answer all concerns and questions to the best of her ability. She is very understanding and I recommend anyone to take this class with this professor!
Professor Sadie Huang Is a great Professor with a love for Yoga. She inspires students to perform their very best and is patient in making sure Students can perform Yoga postures. I would highly Recommend her for any begginers class.
Awesome, nice, and helped me lose weight!! Enjoyed class a lot
Prof. Huang is very knowledgeable in the field that she teaches. Questions are always answered with great clarity. The exercises and stretches are always demonstrated by Prof. Huang and she always checks each individual, ensuring proper form is being used throughout the exercise. Overall, a great professor.
Professor Huang is extremely cool. She makes all the material relate to your everyday life. Yoga instructor so she knows how to make a simple stretch feel like a workout. Final was 5 questions, pay attention to what she says and you're good.
She is such an awesome professor! She is really passionate about what she teaches and makes you want to better yourself. She takes the time to make sure that everyone is doing everything the right way. She is really cool and easy to relate too. She also answers emails very quickly. You should definitely take her class!!
She is Awesome. She helps you to do any postures or any problem you are struggling with. She also understands students stressful life and makes the class as a relaxing time rather working hard.
One of the best classes at JJAY. The atmosphere is relaxed which is rather helpful especially after having a hectic day. Sadie is very passionate about the practice & this is reflected in how the class is taught. It's non-pressuring & very rejuvenating. Very helpful & understanding. Highly recommended. This class should be made mandatory. Perfect!
Professor Huang is very knowledgeable in her field. I took this class expecting the time to be spent 50/50 on classroom and activities but too my surprise it was more of a 30/70 split. Lots of different exercises that are not regularly performed through day to day training. Great Class and Great Prof!!!
Professor Sadie is AWESOME. I didn't miss a class because I didn't want to plus if you miss a class you could jeopardize your grade. She helps and participates in her own class. Yoga was a major stress reliever during and after class. I will miss attending her sessions.
Nice person. Does not review for exams
THIS CLASS WAS THE BEST. I FELT LIKE THIS WAS ONE OF THE ONLY CLASS I HAVE 100% ATTENDENCE BECAUSE I WOULD NEVER MISS IT. STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS CLASS FOR EVERYONE NEEDING A PED CREDIT.
VERY knowledgeable in the field that she's teaching. PASSIONATE about YOGA too! Teach exercises that without the need to go to the gym. Answer questions clear and treat students respectfully.

Awesome teacher . Knows her stuff, very strict but has every students best interest at heart . BE ON TIME !
Professor Huang was super helpful throughout the entire semester! She really made a difference in the way I practiced yoga, and how I lived my life. Definitely worth taking!
Easy credit, you can make up class, but the hours are crazy because they're cutting everything awesome. She's very understanding with students.
Awesome teacher!!! Very informative and low stress. Very accommodating and VERYYY ASIAN. No fuss, no excuses teacher, she demands respect and gives respect. You will learn how to meditate and multiple methods to. High recommended.
This class was so much fun! The professor was an easy grader and its 70% participation, 30% journal entries once a week(which were crazy easy). She reads the mood of the class and adjusts the excercises and stretches to follow. Sad it's only a half semester class and would def take it again.
Very influential it actually helped me a lot. The assignments were clear cut. And the class was also very fun and Informational. Definitely a taker!
Amazing Professor. Too bad it's only 1 credit and ended early. She was a cutie
Took my first yoga class with Prof Huang and it was really interesting and fun. Learned a lot of different relaxation techniques that really helps. Journal every week (what you learned in class, watch video about yoga and etc) don't need to be long :) but she is strict on submitting journal on time so just make sure y do that and you will pass!! :)
Ok, first off, I'll say that I am a guy, and when people hear a guy took Yoga, there is always something said. Prof. Haung is freaking cool, she helps you relax and teaches well. Through Yoga and meditation, this class is perfect for anyone who needs an elective and doesn't need the stress. Plus she she beautiful so thats a plus too.
Love her style of instructing yoga. If you are looking to learn she will teach you many things about yoga. This is a great class for first timers and experts. I would definitely think about her other classes.
I was so excited to begin taking yoga, and I definitely was not disappointed. Professor Huang was an awesome instructor and she is so understanding. When we had midterms and were stressed she helped us de-stress and went easy on us. Living in a life filled with stress and chaos, this class was definitely a great escape.
Professor Sadie Huang makes it a priority to engage students in conversations, not just limited to lectures where one would listen passively which is typically the case with most other classes. The students, in this manner of approach, are compelled in a way to be in the present moment and give out feedbacks to show reciprocation.
If you are easily stressed, the techniques learned in course help you relax and improve breathing. After first couple of weeks, stretching gets pretty strenuous . Important: do journal assignments each week, participate, don't miss class and be punctual. Totally recommend prof. Huang, she knows her stuff and cracks a joke here and there. Good luck!
Between the stress of classes and mid-terms this class is exactly what I needed. She is a very fair professor and knows what she's doing. She makes it a point to engage with her students and is willing to help. If you come to class and complete your weekly journals you will not have a problem and will get the grade you deserve. I highly recommend!
Prof H is totally awesome and is great at what she does. Would Definitely take another course from her!
Professor Sadie was awesome. Yoga was a great way for me to release stress and relax. I think they should continue to have this class so students can destress. The semester is hard. Awesome professor
The worst thing about this class is actually bringing in the yoga mat. Personally, I just put mine in one of the lockers yes it will fit. At first you will do Warrior 1, 2 but halfway through she will ask specifics on what you want for the day: meditation, restorative or active yoga focusing on a particular body part you specify. Very relaxing
The comfortable tone while she instructs helps put you at ease. She is hands on & precise with helping you adjust in different positions. Highly recommend!
Professor Huang is an excellent teacher who will help her students any chance she gets. She also consistently tells her students not to push themselves too hard and I have experienced a lot of stress relief through her class. I would love to have her as a teacher again.
I loved this class. I have practiced yoga on my own but this class helped me to understand what it is. I love that the professor included de-stressing techniques and taught how not to serve the poses. It an easy A as long as you show up and participate. The professor talks a lot but she wants you to learn. She doesn't yell or talk crazy. LOVE!
i loved this class. There's no yelling and the professor is very nice. Very relaxing, especially after a long day/week . As a person who suffers from anxiety , this class was extremely helpful in keeping me calm. the course is definitely an easy A , as long as you come prepared and come to class. Its a short course but you learn a lot.
I loved this class very much. At first it was a little hard because I was not used to stretching but then it got easier. The professor is very nice. She does not like when you talk during her class but that's acceptable. Her class is very relaxing especially when you have midterms. I wish this class was a whole semester.
Loved this class so much. I'm sadly going to miss this class. Never thought yoga would become part of my life and that it would transform my body and my mindset. I love Prof. Huang; she's wonderful, lovely, and funny. Always thought yoga was easy but it gets challenging and fun. The benefits are great. HWs are easy. Participate and enjoy. Yoga :)
Great class learned alot.
she is a great professor
I appreciated her, taking her time in teaching us stressful relieving techniques that has benefitted my well being.
This class is very helpful if you need a break during the day as it focus in mental relaxation. Physical stretch is a plus in this class. This is one credit class and is helpful when you are to graduate and need that one missing credit to complete.
She was an amazing teacher! She's willing to teach and really cares for her students. It was a fun class. She made me enjoy and like yoga. Definitely would take her again. Just make sure to be on time and don't miss class/assignments
SHOW UP TO CLASS AND PARTICIPATE AND GIVE FEEDBACK TO THE CLASS WHEN ASKED AND YOU WILL PASS. IF YOU MISS MORE THEN 2 CLASSES, YOUR GRADE WILL DROP. OTHER THEN THAT, YOU CAN PASS.
By far the best class that I've taken. The professor is professional, kind, and cares about her students. The class is interesting and teaches you new things that are important in life. The class requires effort, but if you try your best and listen to the instructions, you'll do well. Prof. Huang explains everything very well, and is a fair grader.
I did not know I would receive such liberating experience when I signed up for this yoga course. Sadie is an amazing individual: she use to work for Equinox and has several certifications in the field of fitness that make her more than qualified. She goes beyond yoga and enables her students to create a better outlook of life.
I want to say THANK YOU, Professor Huang, you are the Professor from the Supreme side. You really love what you do, and that's why you know how to teach your students. What you do is really beautiful: you share with us your personal experiences in yoga; you have a specific voice: it helps to release stress; you are very patient with students.
Sadie Huang, is a great professor that is very thorough about her work. She takes her time through the Yoga sessions, and if you need help. She is willing to take time with you, so you can get the exercises right. Besides that, you will learn a lot from her class. So I advise anyone that wants to take her Yoga class to take it. You will love it !
I learned so much about yoga. She gave helpful tips to use during exams and at home. This professor was easy to talk to. Just make sure you are on time, she doesn't like lateness.
Professor Huang is very nice. Shes very passionate about yoga, and her meditations are helpful and soothing.. she has the perfect voice for it. She made me want to continue practicing yoga on my own. BEWARE.. she is very strict with attendance and lateness. For ever absence she lowers your grade an entire unit and 2 lateness is an absence!
Professor Huang is amazing! She really cares about her students and the progress that they will make from taking this class. I felt better physically, able to stretch more and mentally felt better. Its an early class but its worth it, you do weekly journals after every class and then one final. No makes up because attendance matters!
She was very inspiring and really got the entire class to learn about ourselves and our bodies. It's incredible how great your body feels afterwards because of how she makes us push ourselves. Since it was an 8 AM, I thought it was a great way to start my day.
Sadie Huang is one of the most caring professors you'll ever have. She is very respectful and kind to you and all you need to do is try. As long as you show up and do your salutations you'll get an A. Definitely take her for a calm start to your day of classes
Shes super sweet and funny! She makes yoga fun and pretty easy. Dont worry about doing everything correctly, she only cares that you try and participate. She helps along the way and is super encouraging! This class is a good way to get a workout in without being too difficult-its really worth taking!
Its a great and nice professor, it was a please to take a class with her. Just let her know if you are late, and you will seduced in this class
I recommend this class for those who want to feel connected with their mind, body& soul. After realizing this class was at 8am I thought about it twice if I should drop the course, but thank god !! I did not do that. I would come to class a bit tired, after this yoga class I had so much energy and felt so good. I have better balance & flexibility.
This class was a cool experience. Prof. Huang is very passionate about what she does and provides alot of knowledge regarding breathing, stretching, and the spiritual/mental benefits of yoga.
Great professor. Every class was a good time and something to look forward too, especially for an 8am class. Highly recommend to anybody who is trying to clear their mind and develop a deeper sense of self awareness.
Very informative about how to stretch and mediate. Even though my class was in the evening it helped me with my daily stress and I sleep well at night. Prof. Huang is very sweet and caring. Shes an amazing yoga professor. I enjoyed her class.
Prof. Huang is a nice professor. This is an activity class. She will probably ask to watch some videos and write a short assessment at the end of the semester. The class also ends early. You actually learn to control your body and mind through the exercises and meditations. I felt energized and refreshed after each class. I need to continue yoga.
took the summer class. im SUCH a night owl so waking up at 7 to make it by 9 was a real pain but was worth it most of the time. wish there wasn't so much repetition in the first few weeks but the last 2 were great. wasnt a fan of using zoom (like skype) for the at-home lessons. id much rather be at school without the distractions of family/pets
I had taken her yoga class last summer at John Jay 2019. The techniques and breathing exercises truly helped me finish strong at John jay; and I continue to implement these tools on a daily. The journaling part helped provide mental clarity and overall she's a really dope educator. She is caring and the class was fun. Excellent class overall
Honestly, I didn't sign up for her. I signed up for a different prof and jjay randomly switched us to her. For a "stress management" class she sure gives A LOT of work. Syllabus quiz, db every week, respond to 1 person, journal every week. Lengthy midterm, and a final paper. Plus even after the final paper she's still giving discussion boards??
Professor Huang is one of the most caring and patient professors Ive ever had. It was a great semester considering the circumstances we are in and she really puts in the effort to help everyone out and pass! Its a quick 2 sentence discussion board every week (and respond to 1 person as usual), with a private assignment,& a very short 4 page paper
Professor Huang is an amazing and caring professor. Her classes are reallyy interesting and motivational. Shes truly understanding and if you need help with anything, shes always there for you. The assignments are similar for all her classes, there are DB, a journal and a short essay at the end of the semester.
Professor Huang is one of the best professors at John Jay. She is super sweet and supportive. I learned so much in her Yoga class. If you ever have any questions or simply feel stuck in class, shell be very understanding. The class material was some light reading, DB, journals and a short essay at the end of the semester. Pretty easy work!
Professor Huang class was very easy and understanding. The syllabus lay outs everything so there is no need to be confused. In all honesty you do the work on time you will get an A. The homework is up for weeks in advance and it doesn't take no more than 45 minutes to complete.
Prof. Huang is one of the best professors I've had. Prof Huang is very caring, understanding and flexible; if you have any problems you can always send her an email. The class is easy and you will get A as long as you do all the assignments and submit them on time. Do not hesitate, and take her class, you won't regret it.
Professor Huang was by far one of the best professors I had during the Fall 2020 semester. His class really helpful in dealing with the issues of the pandemic and stress that followed. For an online class he was very attentive and always posted announcement and when things are due. One discussion board and a journal entry every week. Final was easy
I took this course during the pandemic. Professor Huang was the best. She was extremely understanding & gave extensions for certain assignments. She understood the stress everyone was going through. Her assignments were simple & challenging allowing me to learn new things about how stress can impact an individual. The Final wasn't difficult.
Weekly discussion boards and 5 reflection journals and a midterm and a final term paper with 3 pages and APA citation. Very interesting subject and great professor. She also provided the book in pdf format which was very helpful.
I took PSY 180 for Professor Sadie Huang in fall of 2020. She is absolutely amazing. She cares about her students and is passionate about what she teaches. She is hands down one of the best and favorite professors of mine. She's very understanding and available through email at all times. I highly recommend to take her class. BEST PROFESSOR!
Her assignments were easy honestly, she responds to emails fairly quickly, and overall great person. DB were so easy as well as journals. Midterm was easy as well and final was only 5 pgs on your experience in the class and summarizing a stress management intervention peer-reviewed article. Easy, take her.
Such a sweet professor! I highly recommend you take her class!!!
Professor is very sweet BUT SO MUCH HOMEWORK, for an extra class, I wish I never took this class. It is so hard to keep up.
This professor is amazing! There are many assignments, but this is a great class to practice time management. She cares so much about her students which was a plus for me!
Professor Huang is amazing. She is really caring and wants everyone to pass, really respectful and so sweet. One of the best professors at John Jay! Her class is really interesting and homework is so easy. Easy A and I would love to take her again.
Amazing professor. She is really caring and wants everyone to pass, really respectful and so sweet. One of the best professors at John Jay! Her class is really interesting and homework is so easy. Easy A and I would love to take her again.
She's really good, would definitely recommend
She was a great professor, and the class was very interesting! Her class was very versatile in terms of work, which was hands-on (group projects, presentations, etc.) and writing intensive. It is not difficult work, and most of the time, you'll enjoy completing it. You'll get a good grade if you do your work, go to class, and participate.
There is homework every week but it is very easy. There is a presentation at the end of the semester. Prof. Huang is VERY kind and caring towards her students. She just has this bubbly personality that makes her awesome. It's a easy class. Easy elective. All of the students loved her. She also brought food for us on the last day.
Professor Huang was responsive to student emails and held check ins but also had some students pass along messages. I would definitely take this professor again if the fall 2024 semester wasn't my last semester.
I enjoyed her class, we mainly did activities related to the topic rather than a lesson. The reading can be done online you don't need to bring the book physically with you. She is respectful to other students, and an easy grader.
Would recommend this teacher. It is easy to get an A however you do have to stay on top of your work, There is weekly homework based on the textbook and weekly discussion boards. No midterm but there will be a group project as well as one assignment where you need to complete a workbook that substitutes a final.
She's honestly one of the best professors I have had at John Jay, her lectures are so simple and easy to understand and the homework is straightforward. She likes to do meditation exercises at the end of each class and that's something that helps me during my day and has group projects that are really fun! Easy A, dont waste this opportunity!
I really enjoyed this class and learned so much. The workload was very manageable just one discussion board, one lab reflection, and one lab assignment. Everything was clearly laid out, and the grading was transparent. There were no midterms or exams, which made the class much less stressful. Overall, a great experience!
This course was VERY easy with one simple db and assignment from the textbook weekly, there was no traditional midterm since it is substituted by a workbook + a reflection paper that you can do at your own pace and a group project at the end. This is a majority discussion based class so prepare to open up and participate.
I honestly do not rate many Professors in the course evaluations and I have never rated a professor on this site before (although I have used this to help me look for classes) but this course was such a amazing experience that I had to drop one. If you are looking for a easy and MEANINGFUL elective credit, I would register for PSY/PED 180
Easy A, no real complaints, just show up and do the work, Professor Huang is very sweet.
