She is an amazing professor. Really cares about getting to know the students and really pushes you to do your very best. She does an amazing job teaching you how to be ethical and argues without incorporating biases into the class itself. Dr. J is unlike any other professor I've had. She is one of my favorite professors based off of who she is as a person & because of her teaching style. Dr. J is one of the best professors I've ever had. I took her logic class, and it was really interesting and a really good time. She made the expectations very clear for the class and makes it easy to get an A. The only test of any kind that we had was the midterm. It's mostly a discussion board based class which made it feel community based. 10/10

Dr. J makes online classes incredibly easy. She looks for participation during lectures but does not require you to have your camera on. There are a small number of things that are graded but she gives very clear instructions and follows the rubrics for exams to a point. If you do what she says this is a very fun and easy class!

I really enjoyed the class with Dr. J. I took 2 classes with her, World Religions and Logic. Both classes were structured similarly. Her courses are not difficult but you do need to attend class and do your homework, or you aren't going to do well. Overall Dr. J is an awesome professor.

Dr. J is amazing! this is the first semester that I have taken one of her classes and I have already signed up for another. I loved this class from the start because she is a very concrete professor. On the first day she gave us the outline and rarely if ever strayed from it. Dr. J is also amazing with words and analogies to help explain ideas.

Professor Joakim is respectful, humorous, simple when it comes to criteria, thorough in explaining the material, and an overall expert in logic. If youre looking for an understandable and easy to manage Class about logic, shes your go to professor! Shes also reasonably generous with grading even if you have a late assignment or two.

The class was fun! Topics were specific as well as pointed Professor Joakim knows her stuff! Very peaceful class filled with fun conversation that is designed to get the student to think, challenging any beliefs about life that do not have a sound basis! One hundred percent recommend!

My favorite thing about this class had to be out argument papers. I like that we were given the freedom to choose our topic and we had a clear outline to follow. The biggest downside for me was all the reading simply because I have never enjoyed reading especially difficult text.

Super easy class to take online. Each week you just watch videos assigned talking about a different religion each week. And just do a discussion board about it. You have a midterm but it is easy, just do the work your suppose to get and follow directions. Easy A

You have to actively try to fail Dr. J's class. She's incredibly funny, and she's always more than happy to help you outside of class. You will never have to guess on any grading criteria, rubrics, etc. She makes it very clear what the expectations are and how to get an A in her class. I've never learned so much in one class in my life.

I took Dr. J for MOTR RELG 100 and she was AMAZING!!!! She makes you tube videos for the content that you need to know instead of making you buy a book. There was also not a lot of homework and on most weeks just a weekly reflection. Can't stress this enough if you are contemplating taking one of her classes do it you won't regret it.

Easy A, you know exactly what to expect. Hw is easy, she makes youtube videos instead of assigning readings. She curses a lot but she's respectful.

I highly recommend taking her class on world religions!!! Her class is structured based on readings and YouTube videos that she assigns. She assigns work that she thinks will be interesting for the students and valuable for them to learn from, so no busy work. She is accessible and flexible to work with if needed, and overall an amazing teacher.

Dr. J is great. I highly recommend taking her religion class. She has grading rubrics for everything you need to do, so you know exactly what to expect. No minimum word counts on discussion boards. There is quite a bit of reading, but also a lot of videos mixed in too. She is always there if you need help. No textbook required, it's all online.

Professor J is one of the most involved professors I have ever had. She makes sure that there is every given opportunity to get an A in her courses, and allows for open discussion to take place in her classes so that her students can also learn from each other. I have been with her for 3 semesters, anticipating a 4th.

This was the best professor. She was very informative with what was required of you and when and gave multiple reminders so you can make sure to not miss the due dates. She made every lecture great and is very funny and in the know of younger students. She connects with students very well, keeps everyone engaged. One of the best professors.

Took her summer 2022 and class very easy. Her mode of teaching with flash cards and short easy to follow videos make it even more easier. As long as you post your well thought work in discussion board you are sure to get a full mark. Above all, you learn so much about different religions not just for passing your exam.

I took Dr. J in the fall. She remains objective on all topics. This class is an easy A if you do the work. Her grading rubric is very clear on each assignment. A weekly discussion board and 2 peer replies, group project, final essay, in lecture presentation and the "homework" is assigned videos and readings but it is not graded. Highly recommended.

This was my first semester in college and Dr. J was one of my favorites. The main reason I loved her was she was so straight forward on how you could pass her class. There was no games. What we learned in class was on the test. If I had the opportunity to take her again, I wouldn't hesitate.

Dr. J was my religion professor. As long as you show up, pay attention, participate and do the work, you will get an A. The content was very interesting and the way she teaches is engaging. The homework and tests follow the content that was taught. I wish more professors at STLCC taught like Dr. J. She wants her students to succeed.

I took World Religions online and had a positive experience. It was mainly watching videos and discussion boards. There were 2 short exams and a paper as well. There weren't a lot of assignments, so if you miss a few, your grade might suffer. But the assignments themselves aren't difficult, so as long as you remember to do them, it's not a problem.

Dr. J strays from the boring norms of most online classes. She is very engaging in her YouTube lectures. She is willing to take questions and she answers within 12 hrs. If she doesn't know the answer, she will find it. She is passionate about teaching and she really wants her students to enjoy the journey of learning and not simply "check boxes".

Dr. J is an amazing professor definitely take her class. The main assignments are weekly discussion posts where you have to write reply, a single group project, a final essay, and 2 easy 10 question quizzes that are open note. There is no textbook and only a few articles. everything we learn about she has made a Youtube video about on her channel.

Her youtube videos are interesting to watch because it relates to a couple of assignments you'll do in her class. Although, there weren't a lot of assignments, if you do what you're supposed to do then you get a good grade. There are 2 exams and a major paper to write at the end of the year.

the first prof I've had in a long time that REALLY cares about their job. she records and edits her own YouTube videos that are so engaging and helpful. The class was interesting but I hated the final essay. It feels really uncomfortable to make an argument as to what is the "best religion", I'm surprised that is even allowed.

She is a good teacher but can be rude. Her class is very easy and takes a minimum effort to get an A. There is one group project. Make sure you don't pick a partner that doesn't do anything. Class is based off of a weekly discussion board, 2 exams that are 10 questions and easy, the group project and the final essay where you pick the best religion

Classes are lecture based but she highly encourages class discussion. Lectures are fun and easy to follow, and so is course material. There are the occasional group discussions, and you will get called on in class often, so if you're not interested in participating in anything it might not be the class for you.

There are weekly assignments and we had a big group project that helps you work towards the final. Class is participation heavy, there isn't a grade for it, but most classes have several discussions during lecture and it's pretty likely that you'll get called on. She makes sure all lectures are easy to engage with and easy to follow.

Dr.J is definitely one of the coolest teachers I've ever met and you can learn so much from her and her videos!

Dr. Joakim is awesome! I took her 8wk class, which worked at 2x speed (hence the 4 in difficulty). Pacing wise, the 8wk class is a lot, but gets easier when you adjust to the course speed. If you don't understand a concept, go to office hours! She explains the content extremely well, and is more than happy to help! PS: do the extra credit stuff

Dr. J really gets you out of your own head when thinking and learning in her class. Her lectures are open for discussion and your own opinions and thoughts. She essentially gives you everything you need to get an A, you just have to apply yourself.

Dr. J is that kind of professor that you don't expect much at first, but within the first week of class, you really enjoy being there, because the discussions are very good and well based, but at the same time there is no pressure in telling others what you think about something.

Everything is well organized and consistent. Doesn't grade based on content or with a bias, so as long as you meet the requirements of the assignment, you will get an A. 100% Will say things that make you uncomfortable and go on redundant tangents when she's run out of things to say. Can never tell if she's being serious or satirical.

Dr. J/ Dr. R is easily one of the best professors I've taken thus far, her grading criteria is very very clear and so are her assignments. Her lectures aren't required for attendance or a passing grade but are very enjoyable to sit through, whatever wasn't understood in the videos was definitely clarified in class or if anyone had questions.

Dr. J/ Dr. R is the best professor I had at STLCC. I took her for both philosophy and world religions and both classes were two of my favorite. She makes sure that you're actually interpreting what you're learning and you can tell she really cares about her job and her students.

Literally the best professor I've ever had. She's extremely patient and teaches very well. We did go on tangents fairly often but they are related to the topics taught in class and made it more entertaining. The workload was easy and bearable and the grading criteria is straightforward. I would take one of her classes again!

I know your asking how can someone be easy if they give you lots of homework, test heavy, and get ready to read? Well, I took this class for 8 weeks over the summer and had 2-3 chapters to read, 9-10 assignments due a week and still finished her class early. This is an eye opening class and easy if you do what is asked. 100% an easy "A+" class.

Lots of assignments each week for the summer but very easy to manage. The assignments are not difficult at all if you do the required reading. This was actually a fun class that is designed for you to learn and enjoy it not just retain information. Professor Resch is awesome and I would definitely take her for another philosophy class

I didn't go to class most of the time but that wasn't because of her. In the classes I did go to she seemed like a pretty cool and funny professor. Grading was super straight forward, organized, reasonable and never changed. It is probably more fun in a whole semester class vs. a 6 week summer class, but either way put work in and you can get an A.
