Said is a character. He makes class enjoyable and keeps everyone smiling with his childhood stories and amazing figure. If there is a chance to take Said, I would advise to do so.
One of the best teachers I ever had. I suck at science and I got a B in Physics. I never would have passed without his help. Kinda hard, lots of quizes, but great teacher.
After the first class of the semester, I thought this was going to be a horrible class, but after a couple classes, he starts to grow on you. He makes class interesting and makes it go fast. He's hard, but a good teacher...take him if you want a challenge
Avoid him if you can
He's a complete ****. He was very mean to the students and was unreasonable with his grading. Students generally like him for his SCI 190 class, but he must become anal or something when teaching more advanced classes.
Said is a funny guy. He's very concerned about his students and holds many study groups outside of class for the students that are having difficulties with physics. as long as you go to class, you'll be fine.
He makes difficult physics not only easy, but interesting and relevant.
hates engineers.. loves physics majors.. wants perfection on tests/quizzes.. Quizzes not worth that much less than tests.
Said is an awesome teacher!! His class was pretty difficult & you definitely have to show up in class to get a good grade. But its so worth it & I actually learned a great deal from him. Hes hilarious & his sarcasm can often be misunderstood by those w/out senses of humor. But trust me, hes amazing!
Very funny. Can be an idiot at times, but when he is he isn't being serious. Overall he's a good teacher.
He hates engineers. He thinks that the book is supposed to teach us, not him. Avoid if at all possible.
comment
Best teacher I have ever had! He was scary the first couple of classes, but he honestly really cares about his students. He will give you a hard time if he likes you, so take it as a compliment. You will learn a lot from him, and you won't ever fall asleep in class, I can promise that!
He does a lot of examples in class. Tests reflect the examples. No partial credit. If you study you should be fine. I think he is one of the better Physics professors.
This class is not for the faint of heart or slackers. He gives tons of pop quizzes, no partial credit on anything(tests too). Keep ahead of homework, redo EVERY practice problem he gives you, and read the chapter ahead of time. Limits office hours. http://www.udayton.edu/~physics/se/206/206.html
I'll be honest I didn't like Physics before this, and after the first day of class I thought he was going to be make my life hell. Said though is a great guy, very funny, and he makes the class interesting. You have to work but if you do you will be rewarded. The Study sessions help tremendously.
he really is a fantastic teacher-intimidating at first but if you do the work you will be rewarded greatly! he's an interesting and funny guy and really cares about his students-makes you WANT to work hard for him
tough but good
i love this man...end of story. if he weren't married and 20 years younger, i'd probably love him even more. his class is great, just do the HW!
Really engaged the students! Very sarcastic and funny!
A great teacher....a little intimidating at first but overall one of my favorites.

He sucks at explaining. Unless you already know physics well I wouldn't take him.
he is the funniest teacher ever, which makes you pay attention. take him if you can for sci 190 - he explains everything really clearly and will love to help you if you need it. participate in class and then he really loves you
Great teacher! Very funny and interesting. He explains concepts throughly and gives students plenty of time to ask questions. Participate in class and Do The Homework! Even though it's not required it will help you. His tests aren't easy, but theyre not impossible either. Just Study.
He HATES engineers... and he will honestly try and fail you if you're in a class of engineers.
Probably the worst explainer of all time. He seems smart but obviously has no idea how to explain any intellectual concepts. SC 190 is a joke, no wonder he was easy in that class. He sucks otherwise. He's dangerous.
Said is amazing! I've always hated science classes, but for the first time ever I enjoyed one. Definitely take him if you can. He can be very sarcastic at times, but he's really funny and will help you whenever you need it. Ask lots of questions in class.
He's a nice guy outside of class, but he can be mean in class. He picks on people and takes delight in engineers not suceeding in his class. He makes his tests tricky and is then surprised when the average is an F, but he won't curve either. If you're in PHY206, he assumes you're an engineer that doesn't respect physics, and punishes you for that.
Possibly my favorite professor at UD. He is got a lot of personality and will bend over backwards to help students succeed. He pays close attention to the progress of each student and doesnt hesitate to embarass slackers in class. Tests are tough, but not impossible.
Hilarious teacher who made physics actually interesting. I didn't take physics in highschool and by going to help sessions and doing the homework ended up with a B+. Very willing to help!
I hate science, but Said makes physics extremely interesting and fun. Said makes me want to go to class because he is the funniest person i have ever met. He has great analogies for explaining physics. he has hilarious stories that may make you crap your pants.
Always has exciting stories to tell. Teaches more than just physics, he teaches life, and for teachers, he teached the teaching profession
Going to class is necessary because he gives pop quizzes almost every day. I came in knowing physics and he really helped to strengthen that knowledge. Do the homework and be ready for a quiz every day and you will be fine. He can be a little harsh at times, but he really knows what he's talking about
He is hilarious!!! He really wants his students to do well, but doesnt give away good grades. But if u do the work and ASK QUESTIONS (he loves that) you will do fine. I wish i could take him again
Best teacher I've ever had in my two years of college! He's hilarious and keeps students interested in a subject that's so d*mn hard! N he throws in extra credit here and there to help you boost your grade some!
One of the best teachers I've ever had! At first he is intimidating because it seems like he will be hard, but really if you do the work and study you will be fine. He is really good at explaining and is always willing to help outside of class. He is also really funny and jokes around in class. I would definatley recommend taking his class!
Said cracks me up. I HATE physics, but I actually don't dread going to his class. Make sure you don't miss class because he gives quizzes almost everyday. He is pretty hard, but offers a lot of review sessions. Sometimes he scares the crap out of me
One of the best teachers at UD. His class is hard & he gives a lot of quizzes but everything he says makes sense & he has lots of reveiw sessions.
ughhh! he makes everything sound so simple when he's talking in class, but then i get the quizzes and think..where the heck did all these questions come from? they're sooo hard!!! we don't do ANY questions/problems like them in class. i would recommend taking someone else for sci 190, esp. if science is not your strong point
p.s. i don't know why my rating showed up as a happy face. i'd definitely put a sad face. UGHH!!!
Anyone that says he isn't a great teacher is just bitter. Do the work, go to class, and you'll be fine. My only A this semester, so it's not like the class is impossible and I don't normally get all As. Do the questions online and look over your quiz questions and you'll get at least a high B on the tests. TAKE HIM! great teacher.
I hate physics and he really helped me understand it. Really funny guy, made going to class really enjoyable. Has tons of opportunities for help--best professor I have had so far
i actually liked this class even though i hate physics. sometimes i thought it was really hard but he holds review sessions and has bonus quizzes from time to time so it was pretty fair. he's hilarious and he really wants his students to do well
At the beginning of the year he tells you that it will be so easy to get and A in his class. DONT LISTEN! he treats the class like every1 has taken a physics course before. when he is lecturing everything seems so easy but then the tests & quizzes come and they are IMPOSSIBLE. for example:i had a tutor, studied the material everyday and i got a C-
Said is a really great person and very passionate about all that is physics. he makes lectures bareable and interesting, but his tests are very challenging. i'd suggest using the online study material and going to the review sessions. but if you like hard work and want a GREAT professor- take Said, he's great.
Said is hard. Only take this class if you want to work your ass off. but hes hilarious and makes class interesting
Said is awesome. His class is not hard if you do his online quizzes and he makes it fun. One of the few teachers who truly cares about his students in an intro, gen-ed class. Funny guy, willing to help, tons of extra credit on quizzes
Said is amazing! He is so funny and makes this class interesting. He does a lot of visual stuff, which really helps in a class like this. He is very willing to help you succeed. I had to work my ass off, but managed to pull off a B. Science is not my strongest subject but he really took the time to make sure we all understood :) Take Said!!
I was really nervous about taking physics because I don't like math and I did not take it in high school.Said makes the class interesting and applies physics to everyday life.He is intimidating at the beginning, but is a really nice guy and is not so scary as the class goes on.He holds review sessions twice a week, which really help.Great class!
Said is a great guy. His class is fun and interesting. He tells great stories that make you think about what you are learning. His class is pretty hard, don't get me wrong, but at least you'll have a good time in it. He sets up study sessions a few times a week, tells you with good notice when tests are, etc. This guy is great.
One of the best teachers i have had! i hate science but said makes it so interesting and fun to learn bc he applies it to everyday life. he really cares about his students. its a very tough class, but go to class and take notes and you'll be fine. said is hilarious! take his class.
I loved Said! He is a great teacher and funny. Go to class and pay attention, quizzes are given often but help on tests! He relates physics the everyday life. He also gives a lot of extra credit and truly cares if you learn the material. I didnt take physics and high school and did well. I would take Said if you can
This is one of the best teachers I have ever had. I hate science and he not only makes it interesting but he helps you to understand it. This class is not easy but if you work hard you sshould do well. He gives you lots of quizzes but they help with the tests(exact questions). Take this class. study hard, read, and the online activities help a lot.
Said is interested in his subject and is very willing to help students. Assigns optional homework but its helpful if you do it. There are ALOT of quizzes but if you understand the material they are easy points, and they help alot for the tests. Overall good class.
DEFINATLY plays favorites. he holds many review sessions but doesnt help much with one on one. trys to make fair tests. over good TEACHER. but i wouldnt say that great of a person
I love Said! I hated science before taking his class, but he really makes the material interesting. It's been a few years now since I've had him, but I can definitely say he is one of the best professors at UD. Take him if you have the chance.
In the classroom is a very good and interesting teacher, one on one he is okay. He holds a lot of review sessions that I did not find very helpful. Jokes around a lot which helps make a potentially boring class much more tolerable.
Said was not easy. It was a tough class. He picks on you alot if you miss class and has little mercy for slackers. If you go to class all the time, he will like you most likely. Definitely has favorites. Test are hard but just make sure you go to every class and you should do okay. Try to take another teacher! He's a great guy though!
Disappointed with class. Teacher does not really explain much. Rushes through math, especially when reviewing quizzes. Lots of homework with no review if you don't have questions, so you don't know if you have the right idea or not. Lots of distracting remarks to students in class. Seems to really care about kids but bored with teaching. Nope!
Second half of class better than first. Goes to show he can really teach. Wish first half was better. Do the homework, keep your quizzes, ask questions. Don't get behind you'll never catch up! Really nice guy.
Said is GREAT. Very tough class though; grade sheet shows only 2 As in our class of 60. He explains very well and makes the material very interesting to learn... it's just tests and quizzes are the only grade, and quizzes can be pretty hard. Getting an A is totally possible, you just have to work hard. DEFINITELY the best prof. I've had at Dayton!
Said is awesome! I was not a fan at first, this class is really hard and his teaching style takes some getting used to. In the end I learned a lot though, Said is tough but he really cares about his students. Go to class, take good notes, do homework and go to review sessions! Its a lot of work but As are possible
If you have to take Physics... TAKE SAID! There are quizzes every week, but they help you so so much for the tests! I never thought I would understand physics this much.
hard teacher but totally worth it, he is soooo funny and great, very sarcastic, defiantly have to try it wasn't my strong subject and i still finished very well just had to put a lot of effort forth and i learned sooo much from the class
AWESOME teacher. Intimidating at first mostly to set a precedent. Go to class to take the quizzes. Go to review session because he will track your improvement. He is hilarious, sarcastic, and really knows his stuff. Definitely take him.
Far too hard of a grader, makes it extremely difficult to get an A, his test questions are designed to trick you so you will get them wrong. I advise not taking him.
Said is an amazing teacher! You definitely have to put in the work to get an A, but it is definitely possible. He gives you so many extra credit chances. Just go to class to take all the quizzes and his study review sessions really help. He is willing to help you if you ask. Best teacher I've had at UD!
Said is a great professor. He is very funny, and his teaching is easy to understand. He has a good feel for how well the class understands the material, and he will slow things down if necessary. You have to work to do well in the class, but it isn't unreasonable to expect an A or B if you put in the time.
Said was amazing. I was so scared to take this class, but I ended up looking forward to it. Homework is optional, but he pulls questions directly from it. There are daily quizzes that are very useful in helping you prepare for tests. He definitely pushes you, and you have to actually learn the material to be successful. Best Prof at UD
Awesome teacher and an even better person. Do the homework, go to review sessions, ask questions and you should be fine. A very interesting class and if you actually want to learn something I'd highly recommend Said for SCI 190.
Said is a pretty tough teacher, but he's fair and there are so many opportunities to get help; take them!! And always be prepared for/study old quizzes because those will affect your grade more than you think. He also takes effort (getting help) into account for final grades.
He is a demanding teacher but the course load is insignificant compared to the kind of person he is. He cares about his students and is willing to help at any time. Just do what he asks and you will get an A or B; it will require a lot of work but it's worth it. He will teach you way more than just Physics. Love Said!
Said is a great teacher and an even better person. Yes, he makes you work hard and take a lot of quizzes, but it is well worth it. I learned a lot about physics and life in general. Said is a great man. One of the best teachers I have ever had.
Said makes you work. He is very stern but fair. He is a great professor and a great man. He gives a lot of quizes, but they are very beneficial towards studing. THIS IS NOT A BLOWOFF CLASS! If you miss class, he will call you out for it. He makes class fun and very interesting. Said is the man, and I'd love to have a beer with him sometime soon.
One of the best teachers! He truly has a talent of being able to be a strict teacher but a very fair and interesting teacher as well. Make sure you are prepared for class, and go to the review sessions he holds! He truly is invested his students, but you need to show you want to learn. He seems intimidating at first, don't let that throw you off!
Very good Professor. He knows his stuff and is very devoted to helping his students. Be prepared because there are a lot of quizzes but it is worth the work.
Said is da bomb. I look forward to his class everyday. He genuinely cares about his students. He isn't easy. You have to put in the work but I still highly recommend him as a professor if you get the chance!!!
Said's class was my favorite class this semester, but definitely not the easiest. He expects you to work hard, but if you do it's a great class. I've never met a teacer who cares more about his students than Said. As long as you show that you are trying in the class, he will do his best to help. I would recommend this class to anyone at UD.
Prepare for pop quizzes. We even had three in one day. If you want to pass make sure you go to the review sessions!! He is super nice, but the class is really hard.
Never took Physics in high school, so it was tough. Just show up to class, do the hw, go to the review sessions, and be prepared for pop quizzes. He is actually a pretty funny guy. He realizes most kids in his class are not in science like majors, so he does everything he can to help your grade.
If you don't like sarcasm and thick accents, don't take him! Difficult tests and quizzes.
Just do the work and you'll be fine. Its a hard class but he does a lot to help you. I'm awful at physics but i'm doing fine in this class.
He is extremely intimidating at first, but he is such a kind and caring professor. He really cares how you do in the class and will bend backwards to help you. You have to work hard in this class for a good grade, but he prepares you extremely well. Physics is challenging in general, but Said makes it bearable.
Best professor I had all freshman year.
Said is a dedicated teacher who truly cares about his students. Never took Physics in high school and he really pushed me to try my hardest. The class is very difficult but he makes the class worthwhile. He's amazing and teaches life lessons in class. Best teacher ever! Despite my low grade in class, learned so much more than my A classes.
He is literally a terrible teacher. Gives anywhere from 2-4 pop quizzes every single damn class period. I tried to talk to him after class and he basically ignored me. If you try very hard you can get an okay grade, but you will hate every class you go to.
Very Good teacher! I had taken physics in highschool, but this class was harder. However, he makes it very easy for you to do well in his class. He has study sessions and will help you. Lots of quizzes, but in the end they really help you to know what the test will be like! Loved this class! Best prof ever!
This was actually my favorite class of the semester. It is by no means easy, and there were weeks with pop quizzes every class. But if you prepare and go to review sessions you'll be fine. Said is hilarious and tells some of the funniest stories I've ever heard. Definitely and enjoyable class.
Didn't take physics in HS so i was super nervous but I ended up loving physics and Said was my favorite professor of the year. Just attend class and reviews and you'll do fine
Said is an AMAZING professor. This is actually my third year of college and I would have to say he is my favorite professor ever! He will do anything to help you, literally anything. Come to class and be willing to work and you will be completely fine. Class time is fun and it goes by quick with all of his funny stories.
I hate physics and science in general and I didn't like Said the first week but once you are in class with him for a couple weeks you'll find out that he's the funniestnicest teacher ever. He will go above and beyond for you if you ask and he will do anything for his students. He is awesome. Take him, it's worth it
Said will be the bane of your existence for the first half of the semester, you will probably hate him. Once you get past that, you will realize how funny, caring, and generally awesome he is. He is a really good teacher, despite all the pop quizzes. He will make you work for your grade, but you will feel proud of that grade. Highlight of my year
Said was amazing! I had him for my second time taking this class bc I failed the first time with a terrible professor and I let him know how I did the first time and he really worked with me to make sure I succeeded. He is a wonderful professor.
Will seem intimidating at the beginning, but he is easily the best science teacher I have ever had (and I HATE physics). Go to the review sessions offered and you will be much better off. Material is very difficult and he will quiz you on it often. A total of 35 10-point quizzes are given. They are not easy either, but not impossible.
Said is one of, if not the best teacher I have ever had. He is truly a fantastic person, and wants nothing but the best for his students. He will inspire you to be a good teacher. Quizzes are hard but prepare you for the tests. GO TO REVIEW SESSIONS! Seriously, take Said.
Said was an amazing professor. Had him for an Education Major section of SCI 190. Very supportive and inspirational in the ILLC. He really wants to see you learn the material and does everything he can to help. Would definitely recommend.
Said is a great professor and an even better person. He truly cares about the well-being and success of his students. As a result, he pushes you. Don't sign up for him or his class if you don't want to be pushed to excel. He gives pop quizzes (sometimes multiple) almost every class period, but you will truly learn in his class.
Said is one of the best professors at the university. I won't lie, his class isn't easy and there are a LOT of quizzes but it is totally manageable and completely worth it. He is inspirational and made me want to be a better student. You may hate him at first but if you don't love him by the end of the semester you are doing something wrong.
Don't get intimidated! Everything he does is for your benefit! He genuinely cares about you inside! He needs more credit! Take!
Said's a great guy but he just really makes you work for the grade that you receive. I started out with a C+ on my midterm to get an A at the end. You just really need to study. If you don't understand something ask him to go over it in class or ask the TA.
Said saved my grade in this class. I had never taken physics before and was really bad at it. He took the time to sit down with me and work on all my weaknesses. He really cares about each one of his students! He truly is "The Great Goat"
One of the best professors I've ever taken. Funny, engaging, and fantastic at explaining physics. I actually enjoyed being in class. The class was tough, but grades were earned, not given. If every teacher was more like said, people would love school
Intimidating at first but really just wants you to learn. Goes very fast in class and constantly gives quizzes. Wouldn't take this class unless you're ready to devote hours of time to studying and homework. One of the hardest science classes I've ever taken
he is funny but difficult
Said is a great professor. Although he does make you work, it is very manageable to earn a good grade in his class. Said is a very funny guy. He is helpful and very easy to work with. Review sessions are very helpful.
Said is my favorite professor this year, he is very good at engaging his students in learning and is hilarious. We have anywhere from 0-3 quizzes a day, but he sometimes gives extra credit opportunities on these quizzes. If you have taken physics before, this should be an easy A, if not, you need to work harder. He wears purple every Friday.
Said is hands down the best professor I have ever had, and the best professor I will ever have! Although his class is hard and you truly have to work for the grade you get, I don't regret taking his class for a second. Teaches you a lot about life, how to be a good student, and made me genuinely enjoy physics (and i hate all sciences)!
Although I dreaded his pop quizzes, they helped me in the long run. He definitely makes you work for your grade but that's to be expected. The TA sessions helped my grade so definitely go to those. He's a great guy and truly does want you to succeed (even if it doesn't feel like it sometimes)
He was nice as a person but not a good teacher. Lots of quizzes and tests but doesn't really teach the same material that is going to be on the test. I would take a different professor if you have to take physics, it will be a lot less stressful.
Said is easily one of the hardest professors I've had. If you're taking his class be ready for pop quizzes. If u don't study or read his modules, get ready to be on the struggle bus. Will you have a hard time understanding him? u bet! Will u be clueless during the lectures? Most definitely! I'll be sending a prayer for those of u bearing his class.
Said is a fantastic professor, but a tough grader. If you want an easy A, his courses arent for you. He shows an exceptional amount of tough love. Be ready for pop quizzes almost every day of class, and no that isnt an exaggeration. Hes very straight forward in his explanations of the material though, so youll learn a lot from the course.
He is GREAT!! Some people think he is hard but he just makes you work for it. He gave us over 70 quizzes this semester but most of them have bonus points later in the semester. He has a dry sense of humor and not everyone gets it but i thought he was hilarious. You have to work for an A but you can do it. I would recommend him for physics.
Said is by far the best professor I had. He truly cares about his students and works hard to make sure they succeed (tons of opportunity for bonus). He also tries to get to know his students and knows most/all by first name. If you study the quizzes he gives you before the tests, you are sure to do well on them! He's a hilarious and amazing prof!
Said was the worst professor Ive ever had! Im a motivated student, but Ive never seems such an I competent professor. Completely disrespectful to his students and clearly did not care about the well-being or the success of his class. He covers his poor teaching with extra credit. As an accredited university I was shocked by such poor teaching!
I truly enjoyed taking Said's class. He was really tough at first, but he softens up as the semester goes on. He has a really fun personality and wants to get to know you. He wants you to do well in his class. I would recommend going to as many review sessions as you can.
He doesn't give partial credit on quizzes/tests. Expect a quiz almost every class. He gives a lot of bonus quizzes that either add to your test grade or your quiz grade. He takes attendance usually and cares who participates. He provides review sessions with review leaders. Clear grading criteria. He's funny. If you want to learn, take his class.
Attend class or else... Do lots of extra homework. Study in groups. This is probably one of the hardest classes simply because there isnt enough time to teach it properly, so a lot of learning happens outside of class. Said is tough and his feedback unconventional, but you WILL learn. Also, if you have a problem, TALK TO HIM. Hes incredibly fair.
Love of my freaking life. He was my favorite professor first semester freshman year and he cares so much about his students. His class is hard but if you go to review sessions, they will give you all the answers to the online quizzes and explain everything to you. One fo the funniest teachers I have ever had. But do not wear scented lotion/perfume.
I sucked at physics in high school but I thrived in this class. He really cares about his students. Go to review sessions and you'll do just fine.
I LOVE SAID! I took SCI 190 with him and it was my favorite class. I went from hating physics in HS to loving it at UD. He truly cares about his students and knows everyone's name. His class involves a lot of simple quizzes outside of class, many of which are for bonus. He's my favorite prof I've had. I wish I could take another class with him!!
I loved this class but boy did I work my butt off for the grade in this class. You cannot come in unmotivated he expects you to work hard. He was one of my favorite professors and is the most caring about how you are doing. That being said you must work hard.
I loved having Said as a professor, he might be my favorite. I was not looking forward to physics at all but he made me really enjoy it. Classes are always so entertaining and he cares a lot about his students. He's also so funny, but be prepared for the quizzes and always go to the review sessions, they're extremely helpful.
Said is an amazing professor who truly wants his students to succeed, but if you want to do well in the class, it is going to take a lot of time and effort. There is a lot of homework and studying involved in this course, but he also provides many extra credit opportunities. I highly recommend going to all of the review sessions available to you.
a lot of quizzes and homework but it's for your benefit. great professor and truly cares how you are doing in the class.
Said is literally the best. I was terrified of him on the first day but he tries to scare you. Everyone who takes this class agrees that he is awesome. If you have to take SCI 190, Said is definitely the way to go.
Said gets a bad rep by a lot of people but he is amazing. He cares about his students. Homework after every class and lots of pop quizzes. HOWEVER, the homework and quizzes definitely help you learn the material. Review sessions help too. Take Saids class.
All I'm going to say is that he yelled at a kid for having a blanket over his shoulder during an online lecture. There are many more examples of him being unreasonable but I'm sure that's all you need to hear to know what kind of professor he is.
Said was one of the most helpful professors I've ever had. He cares so much about his students and makes sure they know it too. He is very good at using real world examples to explain topics and it makes it a lot easier to understand. Don't be afraid of all of the quizzes and homework, it truly does help a lot.
Dr. Said is an amazing professor! He cares deeply about his students and how they learn. He is very policy heavy, but they make the class very easy to navigate. You will never be surprised by anything he gives you, especially since you are told to expect quizzes in every class. Do your homework, take notes, and you will be ok!
Do not be afraid, Said is one of the best professors I have had at UD. He does stick to the syllabus and you will have A LOT of quizzes, but they are extremely beneficial to understanding the material. He gives a lot of real-world situations to apply the material to. Skipping class is not a good idea at all and he might call you out in class.
This is definitely a class you have to really work for, especially coming from someone who has never taken physics before. Class is mandatory and although it was taught online he would call you out if your camera was off/if you were not paying attention. Could be worse but take someone else if given the opportunity.
Lots of quizzes and the questions he puts on the quiz seems its repetitive so you don't know if you are learning anything .
This is a class that you will get a good grade in when you pay attention and try on all the quizzes. I think for some people this could be a lot; however, if you like structure and can do basic algebra then this is the class for you.
Dr. Said comes off as intimidating at first, but is actually a very kind, understanding professor. His class is easy as he offers multiple attempts on quizzes and tests, and they are taken outside of class time. He is strict with rules but none of them are too difficult to follow. Overall he is a very smart professor who wants to see you succeed.
Professor Elhamri is definitely a difficult professor. He is very strict and gives too much work out for students, knowing we have other classes. He calls students out when he feels like you're not paying attention or talking to someone.. really if you are doing anything other than staring at your laptop. This is an online course and not easy.
He's not out to get you. He truly wants to make things easier for you while ensuring you actually learn. There's a lot of quizzes but that's a good thing because you get to retake them for full points and they improve your average since they're a big chunk of your grade. Take good notes of his handouts. Remember the formulas and you're good.
PROTECT THIS MAN AT ALL COSTS. Seriously the best professor I will ever have. I promise in the beginning he's "scaring" you because he really wants you to try. And you must try. He genuinely cares about each student and tells the best stories. GO TO REVIEW SESSIONS!
Professor Elhamri is the most caring professor I have had at UD. He truly cares about your success and if you are understanding the materials. He always wants you to ask questions if you don't understand and if you do the quizzes and homework, your grade will be good. The only bad thing is the pop quizzes, but besides that he is a great professor!
One of the best instructors I've ever had. Funny, entertaining, and cares about his students. Basic conceptual physics course, significantly easier than the physics class I took in high school. Most quizzes and tests were online take homes w/ the option to reattempt, opportunities for bonus points, lots of examples to help understanding. Take Said!
Said will forever be my favourite professor at UD. You've never met someone who cares as much about his students as he does. Although he gives a lot of quizzes he provides so much extra help and opportunities to improve your grade that a few bad days won't matter. He made sure he knew each of us personally and put his all into teaching this course.
He is a nice professor and very knowledgeable, he really knows what he is talking about. Although he gives a lot of quizzes, literally every day along with homework. Attendance is mandatory because he sometimes gives pop quizzes in class so he makes sure that no one is cheating in the class. Beware of his policy of not scented lotion/perfume.
Professor Elhamri is an amazing professor. The class is easy--participate, take good notes, be prepped for quizzes. He posts lecture notes and truly wants students to do well. He responds quickly to emails and if you communicate, he will meet your needs. Lectures are fairly entertaining. Overall acts tough but really he's a great prof. 10/10.
Dr. Elhamri is a very nice man, but does not take accountability when a majority of the class does not understand the lectures. If you communicate in advance with him, he will be helpful. He constantly pushes review sessions, but if you have no questions they will be a waste of time.
Dr.Elhamri did a fantastic job of making this class engaging and as easy as it could be. Taking notes everyday will result in being successful. Homework is given after every class in the form of online quizzes regarding the lectures and homework that goes along with the textbook, both are not too difficult and there is always help available.
Anyone on here saying Said is a good professor is lying. Genuinely such a terrible class and it tanked my GPA. He's not receptive and will make fun of you for asking questions. Not a cool dude.
Said is hands down the best professor I've ever had. His material is hard and he gives tons of homework but he cares about your success. Because of his online policies he does give pop quizzes but the material on the quiz is pulled from the homework a lot of the time. Go to the review sessions and get to know him as a person, and you're golden.
I am not great at science and ended with an A. Best advice I can give is to look at the notes he posts online. I was failing at the beginning of the semester but once I started looking at the notes my grade went up significantly. He might be scary at first but give him time, he truly cares about each of his students.
Dr. Elhamri is a great guy. He's got some neat pictures to show the class and engages with everybody as well. The key to success for hw, quizzes, and tests is just to study the lecture notes that's really all there is too it. Also there's a plethora of review sessions each week if you're not getting anything. He gives extra credit somewhat often
this class was hard but i'm also very bad at science and studying, can be scary, but over all very funny, show up to the IS sessions they will help. and do not cheat he'll always know. Cares a lot about his students if he offeres extra credit, write it down and date it, he will give it to you even if he meant it as a joke
He was a good professor, but his class was hard. It is very difficult to get 100% on anything. He also assigns multiple 10-12 question quizes a week, which was a lot but was also nice in a way since no one assignment could tank your grade. Seems mean at first, but is actually a funny dude. Definitely not for everyone, but great for others.
The professor can seem intimidating at first, but give him a chance - he genuinely cares and provides ample support. Lots of quizzes, but also opportunities to improve. unstuckstudy was a game-changer for quick concept review. Overall, a challenging yet rewarding class.
Dr. Said is amazing; he genuinely cares for each of his students and does his best to help you succeed. I HIGHLY recommend going to the SI sessions- they are amazing and so helpful. Lots of quizzes, but they all balance out so there's not much stress for each one. Class requires effort, but not impossible. TAKE HIM!!
Professor Said was a great professor. Everyone in my class was an education major, so I do think he cut us some slack as he knew it was not what any of us were interested in. He truly showed he cared about each and every one of us. He made class fun and remembered all of us by a nickname. He made learning fun and I would 100% take him again.
Dr. Said is fantastic. He's funny and genuinely cares about your success, but he seems intimidating at first. Lots of quizzes, but they balance out due to the amount. Can't stress enough how much you should go to the SI sessions.
Said is such a caring professor, he can be intimidating at first but he's not that bad. I wouldn't say I like physics but he made the lectures engaging and he was hilarious. Go to the SI sessions so you get full credit on quizzes, there are a lot of quizzes but the majority of them are out of class.
Said was amazing. I was terrified of physics, but he made me excited to go to class. He was very funny, and made a connection with each person in his class. His review leaders help a lot outside of class time, so take the time to go to review sessions. The class consist of LOTS of take-home quizzes and homework, but it is not hard. He is amazing!!!
If you always wanted a lecture from Darth Vader, this is your man
Anyone on here saying Said is a good professor is lying. Genuinely such a terrible class and it tanked my GPA. He's not receptive and will make fun of you for asking questions.
I had Said for Conceptual Physics 12 years ago, Fall of 2013. He is the ONLY professor from UD who I still remember his name. He was the only professor I spoke to after graduating. He truly cares for his students and wants you to succeed. Taking his course was one of the best decisions I made in my college career.
Anyone on here who is complaining about Dr. Said are just a bunch of butthurt business majors who think they can get through college by drinking and partying Wed-Sun without having a class that requires a reasonable amount of work to get a good grade. this class is really good if you're someone who is going to UD to actually learn.
Man do I love this guy. He is hilarious and every lecture is entertaining. I actually look forward to this class. If you actually do your job as a student you will be chilling. He prepares you for everything and gives lecture notes for each chapter. Truly amazing. Did I say he was funny????
On the downside, Prof. Elhamri can micromanage his students and runs his classroom like the Navy. Other than that, he is very knowledgeable and makes a strong effort to make the material understandable. Lots of quizzes and online hw, but it's very manageable. Funny too!
This class didn't turn me into an alpha male. At least I got a D ;)
Cold caller + mean hope this helps xo
Really cares for you doing well but very challenging as well. Moves fast, quizzes 2x a week. Don't fall behind.
AMAZING. Don't know what the hate is about. He will send out a syllabus before the class starts that will make him seem intiminidating. Do not be fooled- Said is the best professor of all time. Amazing lectures you will pay attention to, explains things clearly, the class is predictable so you will always know what is going on.
At first he seems like a typical tough guy old school professor but once you get into the year he warms up. Hes extremely nice and explains things well if you need help. Alot of his tests are and all of his quizzes are at home so it's easy. He's big on attendance and likes you more if you sit in the front and always show up.
Said is so so lovely. His passion and love for his students absolutely shines through everything he does. It's clear he's learned what works and what doesn't. He is so endlessly HIMSELF (you get to know who he is, not only the content, through his lectures). He can make mean jokes, but it's harmess, in my opinion. Would recommend.
Said is such a great teacher. He really wants students to succeed. He gave us 3 attempts for quizzes/homework/sometimes even unit tests. Most tests happened to be outside class (some in class). Have quizzes/homework after almost every class but it really helps you succeed. Pretty organized and genuinely so caring and nice to students. take him!
