The best Math teacher EVER! I had her last semester, and now i am taking another class with her.She is really good at breaking things down for you. If you have a question she never make you feel dumb about it unlike other teachers.She is amazing at teaching us different ways of solving a problem so you can have some options.Overall GREAT Teacher!

Very helpful! Extremely patient. All lectures from book and offers helpful study guides. Willing to help during her office hours as well. More than fair grading tests. Recommended.

You guys are over exaggerating!!!!!! She grades easy and her lectures are simple to understand. Her test are cake and if you show effort she'll give partial credit! She is real helpful with an easy going personality. She attends to individual student's questions and concerns towards her lectures. EASY A.

Her class is actually quite entertaining and she is very helpful as well compared to most others. She does care about the students and makes the class fun to be in and entertaining to learn. Obviously some must of gotten bad grades to have to say anything rude. This teacher is the best =)

Pros= Extra credit opportunities on every exam. You can still earn up to 90% on MOST late homework assignments. She’s fun, kind, and patient :) Cons= Truly having to take responsibility for your education, like a mature adult. In other words, if you need help, ask! You really need to show up to most classes. In short, I’d take her again.

She is a very good teacher, very nice and helpful. I loved this class and she made math seem easier than it really is. I HIGHLY recommend her as a teacher for this class. And she gives extra credit opportunities on every test.

I am not a fan of math, but Mrs. Shows made it very easy and being in her class was enjoyable. She is very helpful when you have a problem, and she has a great attitude! She allows her students to work together to get through classwork and that is also really helpful. Very laid back atmosphere, but every bit of subject matter gets covered.

AMAZING! I loved her class and it was always a good time. Totally knew what I was doing because she was super helpful. Lessons were easy to understand but you would need to read the book to t a beer understanding. I would totally recommend her to anyone.

She is really easy and nice. She helps you out with tests and any work. Lots of extra credit opportunities. You really have to try and fail this class. As long as you show up it is a really easy class.

Mrs. Shows made this math class easy. She is a very down to earth teacher that explains math so well and in detail. I would definitely take her again.

Her class is not a hard class at all and she is not a bad teacher. She gives lots of easy busy work that actually helps you to learn the lessons. The note packets she gives are organized and straight to the point. She always answers questions and will work out any problems you need. She's a sweet lady & entertaining! Take this class :)

I really liked her, her teaching technique is different. She gives you the work first, and then you do it with the textbook. She is very helpful if you ask for help. Also will let you come to the same class just a different time if you need to.

Mrs. Shows is a great teacher. You only need to put forth the effort and she will help you with your questions- even if they're obvious ones. (I know I asked the worst questions.) Take her class knowing you'll get a quality teacher who grades fairly- leniently, even.

There is good and bad with her, but overall I liked her. She is very fair and just expects you to do the work and get help if needed. She definitely won't hold your hand through everything but she gives you what she thinks you need to succeed. Her grading is very fair and there is a reasonable amount of homework and tests.

Great Teacher, I don't now why there are so many terrible reviews, its a college class and i think its the right pace and level. Lectures are fast but she hands out note packets for you to keep on hand, lots of quizzes that help your grade. I find that the tests are challenging but interesting. Would recommend

Professor Shows is one of the best professors I have ever had. For me, math is very difficult and the way she teaches, explains, and approaches the materials is phenomenal. She is sassy, yes but she has a lot of patience and she gets to know each student very well. I would definitely recommend!!!

Overall, cool teacher. She teaches statistics, I'm not sure how easy or fun ANYONE can make statistics. If you ask questions, she is more than happy to help. If your a self-motivated student that can follow directions, and do some work on your OWN you will pass.

I really don't know why there are so many negative comments about Professor Shows. She is a really nice and helpful professor I've had throughout college. She always responded back to my email's fast and always stayed after class to help each student with any difficulty he or she might be having. Take her and I promise you won't regret it!

Very good math teacher. Definetly one of the better math teachers at COC. Instead of lecturing the whole time, she would lecture for about 10-15 min and then split the class into groups. Makes class go by much faster. Plus if you don't understand, you and your classmates can discuss any problems

Love Shows!! I'm someone who is terrible at math, if you aren't good at math take this class! You do need to work hard and go to class because you learn a lot in one class! Shows really breaks down what your learning and helps you if you don't understand. There's not a lot of homework and the study guides are helpful for the test!!

She is one of the nicest professors but provides a lot of homework. If you show up to class (everyday) & understand the homework, pass the quizzes, comprehend the in class assignments, & do well on group projects, you will pass. She provides a lot of work & that can be tough for students who never had to work full time & be a full time student.

I love Ms Shows she honestly does care about your grade works very well with her student also ensure that everyone receive the grade they deserve.

Professor Shows tries really hard for you to succeed in the class. Gives really great feedback. Although you do work in groups a lot of the times gives you time to ask partners to work together to understand the topics, with Professor Shows to help guide to you in the process.

Professor Shows is a wonderful teacher. Her work sheets are great and cover all the material. The study guides are extremely helpful and an accurate representation of what is on the exams. I never succeeded at Math until I took this class!

I have not taken an algebra class in 20 years and I am thriving in the class. Exams for the semester I am currently taking account for 60% of your grade and there are 4 of them. Lots of homework and classwork, She will throw a quiz away if she feels that most people are not understanding the material.

Take this class if you really want to learn! She makes you work for your grade, but she is fair and offers extra credit for every exam. You will be challenged, but if you work hard there is no way you can't pass with an A

Prof Shows is a good teacher and is patient with people who don't understand the material. I felt there were too many worksheets every class but the repetitive nature of them made you remember it. Study for the tests, no multiple choice. Be prepared to do the group projects by yourself if you get paired with someone who doesn't care.

Very challenging if you suck at math BUT manageable if you do the work. She WANTS you to ask ?'s and be proactive for your grade. She offered to replace lowest test score with final exam score. Many quizzes & assignments. Lots of group work & 2 group projects. Absences are not recommended. Gives many opportunities to improve overall grade.

Prof. Shows is the greatest professor I've ever taken at COC!! She's very kind and extremely caring towards her students and their success. She's willing to help anyone who's struggling to pass her class and is extremely fair when it comes to the way she grades. She has a great sense of humor and is a professor I wouldn't hesitate to take again!

Show up and do the work she requires. There is a decent amount of outside homework but it's by no mean difficult. She gave us study guides for the tests and that was a sure way of getting a good grade on each test. I averaged around a 95% for my tests and I just memorized the study guides. Do every assignment and actually learn the material. Easy A

Nice lady who always tries to conversate with students at the approp. time. Classtime is usually spent doing classwork that gives credit as long as its completed. Walks around, ready to help students if they have questions. Test difficulty is somewhat, as long as youre familiar w/ the material. Group project with a mini presentation helps grade

Very kind and patient. She is willing to repeat lecture and go over learning objectives to make sure you understood. Overall makes math a better class to be in. Im no math fan but I have to say she takes a bit of the stress away

She reviews the lectures until you get it. The class was heavy with hw, but if you don't fall behind you can do well. Tests and projects are a big thing when it comes to affecting your grade, but there are study sheets

i had her for a summer semester so it was on a much faster pace and smaller class. statistics is a pain of a class this was my third time taking it and she made it totally bearable. always patient and never condescending. she kept track of who was struggling and made sure they understood before proceeding. plenty of down time and not constant lectu

Mrs Shows is really nice and relatable. I definitely enjoyed her class even though I totally did not ever want to have to sit through stats. but she made it fun. while the class isa lot of work, it is an easy A. I definitely suggest taking her for math.

Professor Shows was great! I was surprise to not see better reviews of her since I had a great semester with her. She really wants you to learn and understand the material and offers extra credit on her exams! If you want to do well in her class be sure to understand the material well, do your homework, and show up for class since she gives quizzes

I was surprised by her reviews because I actually really liked prof. shows and her class. Im terrible at math and the class was really easy. Super homework heavy but if you get it all done and show up to class everyday you'll do fine. If you don't understand the material having her explain it in class was super helpful.

Although this class did require a lot of work from my own part, I did enjoy it. If you want an A you just got to work for it, it is like anything in life. If you are lazy and really do not care about your education very much, this class is not for you.

Not going to lie, it is a very homework heavy class . I took this class for winter semester. so everything was crammed into a month. If you don't attend you will have a difficult time passing. Though this is a Stats class. So for what it was Shows made it the best she could. She's very patient , and caring with students. Would highly recommend !

We had 1 group project, not difficult at all. Lots of online HW, they're multiple little quizzes that you do after learning the material on your own via video notes. Class time is spent doing group/individual activities assigned by her. It's true she gets annoyed if you ask lots of questions, but it's still possible to understand. Manageable class.

As long as you stay on top of your work you will do just fine in her class. She is always happy to help.

Overall, I really enjoyed her class. The workload was extremely heavy so if youre taking other classes dont expect to be able to put much time into those. One of the best things about her class was that we were able to redo assignments as many times until we got 100%. Her 4 unit exams have built in extra credit. She makes it very easy to pass.

Shows is an amazing professor! I took her for Math140 online and I received an A. There is a lot of homework because theres little quizzes. You have three chances and they're not timed. The class is more of a "go at your own pace" class. She's very understanding and incorporates extra credit into every test.

Took her online through zoom during fall 2021. Gives lots of feedback and responds quickly. There was a lot of work like mini 3-5 question quizzes due almost every day but they were pretty easy and we got multiple chances to retake them. And multiple page worksheets for HW. VERY flexible with late work and gives extra credit on 3 out of the 4 exams

If you put in the effort, you should be totally fine with this class. She does give a lot of work, so I recommend finding a buddy to study with and managing your time. Her tests weren't that bad, and her final project was very simple.

Great prof, breaks concepts down to be easily digestible. HW due "everyday" but not actually due till exams - its purpose is to pace and better prepare you for class work. I found the class to be quite manageable, but I also put in my fair share of effort. Concepts followed formulaic patterns so I dont think anything unexpected were on tests
