Great professor!

Very hard class, He tries to explain but is sometimes unclear. Hes expects you to know your stuff, so study! He's a great person and fair with your grades. But the whole grade is based on tests, so study!

While his accent is strong, he uses Powerpoint Presentations to cement the material. His quizzes are very difficult, but his midterm and final come mostly from the quizzes directly. He also gives great extra credit opportunities. He definately loves his subject! Don't go in expecting an A, earn it!

Dr. Islam works with you to learn. He will help you pull a good grade, all you have to do is commit to the work.

Ignore the other people. He's got an accent but he's willing to help people as much as he possibly can. You learn A LOT in his class. I definitely reccomend him. He gives LOTS of extra credit and he helps you so much.

Very nice man. He wants students to learn. You MUST be on time for every class. Lecture quizes are challanging, some times tricky questions. Read the book closely, understand the key concepts and you will do well. Show interest and READ, READ,READ and you will do well.

He does have a strong accent but will help you pull a good grade. At the end of the term, gives you a sheet to fill out with days absent & grades for extra credit. He notices when you're late or not there so come to class! Wants everyone to pass, final was questions from the previous quizzes. Study, show effort & you'll do well.

He has an accent but that shouldn't stop anyone from taking his class. He's a great professor, kind heart, extremely helpful and very intlligent! I recommend him to anyone, PowerPoint presentations are helpful, textbook and he gives BOUNTIFUL of extra credit! You SHOULDNT get nothing less than a B!

Great professor. Just understand that you NEED to show up & pay attention. He is VERY good, but also very difficult for many people. You will remember a lot coming out of his class, but you'll work for it. Overall a great prof. and he's always willing to work with his students to help with their success at the class and later in life (higher edu.)

He is a really good professor. Take him but make sure you read the chapter before the lecture. Actually u dont have to read the book. just go to the book website. click on self study and go on elearning and study everything from there and do all the practices on the right sides. you should end up wid an A in class

Awesome professor, although very difficult. If you actually want to learn something and have a fun time doing it, take him! You will need to show up and read your book (thoroughly) . He's also willing to work with you on just about everything! If you are going to need this info (medical/other fields) then you will enjoy his class!

this guy is deceptively easy. you get quizzed every week on the material from the week before. they seem to focues on minute details, leaving you frustrated with lackluster scores, but after doing extra credit and receiving a nice curve, you end up with a decent grade after all. A's are possible, but not free. work for it.

VERY Nice teacher. Textbook is a must. He explains everything pretty clearly and his powerpoints are very helpful. Lab quizzes are pretty easy, but the Lecture Tests/Quizzes are pretty hard. Take this class if your really going to put some effort into getting a good grade>>it's def. not for slackers!

Read your book and you will ace the exams. Dr. Islam is great, funny but jst don't get on his bad side. He will help you and focus on showing improvement throughout the semester and you will pass. Highly recommended!

He's a good teacher, but you have to work for your grade! Just study what he gives you (no slackers/crammers - this is like a REAL college course, not some flimsy comm. college**** and will definitely help you if you're doing transfer credits, etc.) and come to class. He'll help you if you need it. Don't expect a good grade, EARN it!

Highly Recommend! He's super nice, sweet, funny and very understanding; not to mention he has a great background in biology. Keeps us laughing by making jokes about his wife.

He's a tough grader for sure, but you get the grade you deserve. If you study hard, you'll definitely get a good grade. He gives LOTS of extra credit It's like a university course, so if you're expecting some high school-equivalent class, don't take it. But if you want to learn and take something useful, this is a good professor to have.

He's such a hard grader and you have to work really hard. Know the textbook well -whoever said it's university-equivalent learning, they're right. But you learn so much and it really preps you well if you're going into the bio field -if you're not, then this probably isn't the class for you. But I def recommend him! very approachable, lots of E.C.!

you really should take this class only if you want to work hard. not a class for slackers or people who aren't willing to get their money's worth out of their education. He's approachable and teaches you a lot. It's a university-level class, so people complaining clearly are at NOVA just to take it easy. Definitely recommend it if you work hard.

This professor really cares about his students. The class was very challenging but the professor made help available. He also teaches at GMU and this class is definately up to par with university classes. I would take 142 with him if I did not have to move.

Dr.Islam is a great professor. He cares about his students. I just took him for the summer, it was a hard course, but learned a lot. You can get an A in his class. Have to be willing to study for lecture and lab exams. Great class overall :)

Great Teacher, Its up to you how well you do. If you dont study you will not do well. He gives you all the tools you need to be successful. Always read the chapter before class even if you dont understand it. Its a hard class so Challange yourself, it will make all the other science/medical classes seem easy. Good luck

Im taking his summer Class... So far I cant complain, the class is hard itself, you have to do a lot of reading, HE IS THE BEST PROFFESOR... Very Knowledgable, Take Him and you wont regret it... His class gets full very quick... So Hurry Up!!!! If you study and show him your effort you can end up with a B at least!!!!

Prof. Islam is a very knowledgeable instructor, he knows that text book like the back of his hands. He's very willing to help you but you gotta want to be help. Yes his accent is a bit thick but you get used to it. He's very willing to help you, but you gotta do some work, the man gives you a study guide to his test that covers 75 of the tes!

Best A&P prof at nvcc. I recommend him to everyone! A&P is a hard subject regardless of who the teacher is but with Prof. Islam, as long as you read, study, and attend class you will do fine. He is genuinely passionate about his job and cares about all his students. He interacts with the class and is so funny! By far my favorite teacher!

This is by far one of the toughest classes that I have ever taken. The professor doesn't use Blackboard and doesn't use the companion website. His tests are only 25 questions and very hard. He loves to teach and he knows the material. I just wish he would give homework on the website for credit to offset the exam scores.

Dr. Islam is an excellent professor! Very professional and sets you up for success. He does not want to see his students fail, and will do whatever it takes to help you understand the material. He is fair and very helpful, as long as you put in an honest effort. Attendance and participation is mandatory. Promoted a positive learning environment.

I really enjoyed Dr Islam class, i am an older adult student with two jobs and a family, but yes be prepared to read and take notes, he is willing to help you but you need to help yourself first. remember its your money and your time you are spending, its not an easy class but he does not want his students to fail. I would recommende his class.

Proffesor Islam is a really caring and effective teacher, he explained everything he could with the amount of time he had. Dont take this class unless your prepared to actually try. I got an A in the class cause I cared and wanted it. If you do the same you'll be fine just be prepared for alot of work.

TAKE HIM. Anatomy in general is difficult obviously, but I studied and had no issues on the test. He does do extra credit through bring your lab materials and attendance. I am so thankful I took him for Anatomy. He is funny too. Study the textbook chapter summaries and you will be good. Like any class, you dont study, you will not do well lol.

TAKE HIM!! This is my first rating I have ever done because this professor deserves it!! I took him for both bio 141 and 142 and got an A in both!! He REALLY cares about his students passing and understanding the material. Grades based off tests but as long as you take the practice quizzes you should be okay!! He gives extra credit at the end!

You will have to teach yourself. No way around. There are only lecture exams and lab practicals to worry about since there is never any homework. He wants you to succeed and if he notices the entire class struggled with something, he will be very generous with added points. Very nice professor overall. Exams are solely based off the textbook.
