WPRST PROF. EVER... CAN NOT SPEAK ENGLISH.. 100% TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, BAD!!!!!!!!
Terrible english, skipped and important cpt. cause she thought it was easy!!!!!!
Really nice teacher, tries really hard, talks a lot
Repeats her self alot, knows she does not speak english will, really nice
Easy, do the bookwork. Ask ?'s. Helpful, she tries, bad Engl
Very nice. Does her best. Just a little trouble communicating. Not bad
Poor instructional skills. Doesn't speak English well !
Goes over things well, nice, repeats herself so you can understand her
take her notes and make your own notes
Horrible teacher, does not understand what she is doing. Must correct her a lot.
Difficult to understand at first, but willing to repeat tasks until everyone gets it. Allows notes for tests.
Her teaching techniques are very unorthodox, most students lose patients with her before she gets to the point, very hard to understand. Great personality, very positive, however teaching leaves something to be desired.
Hard to understand... she'll fall for nearly anything, I would take her class and just coast, she's that easy.
A bunch of the students in the class complained that she does not know how to teach, but she is a good teacher. Yes, her accent may not always be easy to understand, but she'll repeat herself as often as you like. I got a 98 in her class, because I took n
I really don't have a problem with her, it's just she has a VERY STRONG middle eastern accent. (I think it's middle eastern) She is willing to go over whatever you need help on, and tries to explain concepts so they are really easy to understand
Very boring and hard to understand
she is gullible, and appears to not know how to do certain problems, plus her thick accent
shes really unclear. hard time making her points.
I had an extremely difficult time with this Professor. If you are good at Math then you should be ok but if you have ever struggled with it, you might wanna consider finding a different Professor.
need to speak foreign language to understand her
need to learn how to speak english better
Impossible to understand her. Students correct her on a lot of problems. Her tests reviews have nothing to do with her tests. I don't recommend her as a teacher, although she means well
I had an EXTREMELY hard time with her. She means well, but she does not explain things very well. Math is one of my weakest subjects and she always made sure everyone else in the class knew it too. I did not enjoy the class.
Embarrasses students, does not prepare them for tests them insults them publicly when they do not do well.
It's easy algebra that she will give TONS of examples for, but you'll have a hard time with the thick accent.
Cant understand what she's saying. Makes mistakes on the problems a lot. Will discuss grades during class- meaning if you did bad she'll let the whole class know. Cant explain your questions. Has a hard time understanding your questions. Gives little/no h
I was appalled that GVSU would employ such a professor. This class, being that it is a hard subject to teach, you'd think they would employ someone that ... Can empathize with those who don't understand (not embarass publicly).... NEVER take her.
This was the worst professor I have ever taken. You can't understand a word she says and she also seems to take pride in humiliating people. GVSU - congrads...you have now hired your worst professor.
I din't really experience the embarrassing of students, but sitting through her class was like pulling teeth w/o any Novocaine! She has a very thick accent, and just about everybody is lost in her class...DON'T SIGN UP FOR HER CLASS!!!!
Very nice teacher. Has no patience with people with no ambition. She noticed the people who tried and let the ones who did not have it. It is nice to see a teacher who is honest. She is fed up with undergrad brats who are only there for the gen ed.
i feel bad but shes the worst teacher ive ever had in my life in highschool math was a breeze but in college its not and its not because im dumb its because in high school i was actually taught math here i cant understand what she says and shes horrible
She's rude, and not very kind. She called me stupid several times, and berated me for a mental condition that I deal with. Down with Srinivasan!
As long as you do the homework and pay a little bit of attention in class, you will ace all her tests and quizzes. Occasional mistakes on the board, but most students catch them and class goes on, it doesn't affect your learning.
she is the worst professor ive had in my two years of college she misgraded two of my test and when i brought the errors to her attention she wouldnt change my grade. hard to understand with her accent only take her as last resort
I am a firm believer in the fact that professors should be able to connect with the students with words...this was not the case. But I did learn one thing from this prof...I have learned that I do indeed have the worst luck ever, when it comes to math teachers.
EASY!!! It is hard to understand her at first but she is very nice and the test are easy too!! I stuck with it and grew to like her very much!
I think that she is the coolest prof. i've had this far. She is a very nice and sweet woman and only gets mad when students disrespect her because she has an accent but wouldn't you? My advise: Taker her, its a good experience. she's acctually funny if the students giver her a chance.
This is basic math you learn in high school and I think that she taught it well, but it was hard to understand what she was saying at times. This class wasn't to hard because it wasn't fast paced, but if you don't pay close attention to her speaking you won't understand.
She is hard to understand at times, but is an easy teacher to have. She teaches what you need to know and it's nice to have someone who isn't a middle aged white man or woman.
All you need to do is listen to her and you can hear what she is saying. Yes she has an accent but us as americans have an accent to her. Lighten up, she is a good teacher and is willing to help. JUST ASK QUESTIONS
It aggrivates me how some people only look at her accent, that cannot be helped. She is a very helpful teacher who really takes the time to assist her students. She is the kind of person that would bend over backwards for the benefit of her students. The p
She is a nice lady but I struggle in the class because it is so fast paced. Thankfully I remember some things from high school that help me get through it! She gives a lot of tests and quiz's (practically every class) but is also willing to answer questions ... the accent is hard to understand at first but you get used to it.
She's a cool teacher I like her and she is super helpful, even when you don't need it.
Her class is not hard if you remember stuff about polynomials, log, etc. She takes the best 10 quiz scores and there are over 15 quizzes. If you have any questions, she'll answer them. She might make a couple of mistakes writing on the board so be careful. Might misunderstand you and you might need to ask the question again after rephrasing.
She was extremely nice, and helpful. Enjoys laughing with her students and making sure they understand. Is very willing to help if you need it
Unorganized. Unclear.
She is a very good teacher and she knows whats shes talking about
She is a great teacher, you can understand her perfectly fine if you just listen. She is always willing to help, and makes the class easy and fun.
EXCELLENT PROFESSOR!!!!! WILLING TO WORK WITH STUDENTS IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE. NICE AND UNDERSTANDABLE LADY. GIVES GREAT EXAMPLES AND EXPLAINS EVERYTHING THAT IS TAUGHT WELL. GIVES ENOUGH WORK TO AT LEAST GET A "B" EVEN IF YOU BOMB THE FIRST COUPLE.
Sometimes hard to understand but a very easy prof. She has easy tests, quizzes, and assignments. I took her class, never did the homework, never studied and got an A. Even though she's a little unclear take her!
Struggled in this class but I think it was more to the fact that I have a hard time in math. She was unclear on somethings but is will to help you to succeed.
She's from some sort of eastern country. She's the sweetest teacher ever. Because she's hard to understand, she tries twice as hard to help the students comprehend everything she says. The tests are always a lil' harder than you expect. But she knows her stuff and if you do listen, which is difficult to do, lol, you'll understand it all.
Very nice, easy, and helpful. She does have an accent, but easy to understand. Great teacher.
Holy cow, the worst teacher I've EVER had. I've had teachers who were unorganized OR inconsistent OR rude OR not helpful, but never one who was all of those things. She yells at you when you don't understand something, and was mostly ineffective at helping me understand the material. Yikes...
So she does yell when no one answers her questions, but a person can't really blame her, it's frustrating having everyone sit there in silence. She gives out E.C. and I only did half the homework. I passed this class with 105%. I will def. take her for 123 if she's still around!
I am happy i had srini for mth110. she was helpful and understanding. Homework is not mandatory but i recomend doing it. At first, she was little hard to understand but i adjusted to her accent. she is a really nice lady and is worth having.
She was not a good teacher. She would contradict herself all the time. She would encourage you to go to the math lab yet when you went and they would teach you one way, she would grade you based on her teaching method. Get out while you can!!!
She is a good teacher. Very understanding and willing to work with you outside of class. One month my work conflicted with class and she let me join another class so I could stay caught up. She tries to give you as many points on a problem as she can, even if the answer is wrong. Good Prof!
Srinivasan is soo nice! She is very kind and helpful. She wants to see her students suceed and always will go over something again if you don't understand her. Once you get over her accent, she is easy to understand!
This prof really knows her stuff, but has trouble conveying that knowledge to the class. She repeats the term "you know?" about 30 times a class (and no, obviously I DON'T know, thats why I'm taking a class!) If you can get past the accent and work on your own, you'll be ok. She really knows what she's doing, have faith.
Although a total sweetheart, she has an extremely thick accent and is nearly impossible to understand. While she would try to be helpful, I had no idea what she was talking about! Her class is really easy, but be prepared to learn mostly from the textbook.
Sweetest prof. ever! She was so helpful and was really concerned about her students doing well in the class. I would take another one of her classes in a heartbeat.
Srini is an AWESOME prof!! If you even attend half the classes and try you will get an A. She is very concerned about students and will help until you understand. No homework and easy tests...definite GPA boost!
She doesn't explain anything clearly... it took me at least 2 weeks to understand her because of her accent... she moves VERY fast and she gets very irratated if you don't understand anything. she's a bad teacher, but a really sweet lady. she repeats ceratin phrases like "see" and "you know" LOTS of times during lecture and it was distracting!
This prof is great. She's from India and her accent is hard to understand at times, but she gives no homework and the tests are really simple. For a 2 hour class, she rarely kept us longer than 50 minutes. Allowed to miss 5 classes, she knows her stuff. I hate math, but loved her.
the class is super easy, but if math is not your subject find another prof.
She is from India and hard to understand at the beginning but you get used to it fast. She teaches well because she asks the class if they understand before moving along on something new. Highly recommended.
She is a very nice lady and helpful. Some people say she gets irritated with you but that is not the case. She wants to help you she only gets upset when she feels she isn't doing enough to help you. Homework does not count, so grades are based mainly on tests and quizzes. Her accent is hard to understand at first but easy to get used to.
Very very easy class if you have had alegra before. She offers 5 points extra credit on tests if you don't use a cheat sheet!
she does NOT know what she is doing. its a good thing that i know how to do math! i would NOT recommend taking her class.
This woman doesn't really know what she's doing. She has an accent so she's hard to understand...not that it matters since she doesn't get the answers right anyway. Some in class work but she'll do it for you. If you're not good with math DO NOT take this class. But I guess if you do know math it's pretty amusing to listen...
She absolutely sparked my interest in math...I can now honestly say I get it now.
Extremely helpful professor. In high school i got put in adv math classes and skipped over the basics which kicked me in the ass in the end, but this class TOTALLY caught me up. I have a great understanding of algebra now. Like anything else, your success in this class is about how well you pay attention. She's very helpful.
Pretty easy class but she is not very good at explaining the material. It makes it even more difficult because she sometimes doesn't fully understand a question you are asking her due to language barriers. She also tends to make easy algebraic errors while doing examples on the board.
I could not stand this lady at first but by the end she was ok. I got an A in the class and Im terrible at math. I had to go to the math lab for help because it was hard to understand her at times. she did make fun of me a little infront of the class for not understanding but i made fun of her back and she was cool. test are super easy and no hmwk!
She was always willing to help and made the class fun. I was intimidated by her accent but I quickly got used to it. She puts homework in the syllabus but never collects it. She gives graded group work at the end of each class so attendance isn?t mandatory but you will lose the points from the assignment. Easy A if you pay attention in class.
She is a very nice woman who trys hard to be helpful but doesn't succeed too well because of the ethnic background and accent. Stumbles on words sometimes and is not easy to understand. Class might be easy if you are good at math but I do NOT recommend her to you if you have any math difficulties.
She is a great teacher. She has a fun accent that is kind of hard to understand, but you get used to it fast. She teaches extremely well and I'm hardly ever confused!
I really liked her. I never really understood math, but once I had her, I got it really well. She makes it really easy and understandable. And you get used to her accent really fast, its actually kind of fun..
I was dreading this class but she made it fun and I ended up looking forward to it every week. She is extremely helpful and understanding.
I would take her class again in a second. Although her accent is off putting at first, she is easy to understand after a couple of classes. The tests are really easy, and as long as you come to class and do the in class assignments you should have no problem passing them. She really cares about her students, and is always willing to help!
She means well, but she's quick. As soon as she explains something, she expects you to get it immediately and everything is drawn off of previous sections so ASK QUESTSIONS at the beggining, or fear falling behind. She's nobody to be afraid of though. She has a good sense of humor.
I dropped the class because I could not understand her accent.
Very mixed. Nicest lady you could ever meet but there is a language barrier that is hard to get over. Don't be afraid to tell her she isn't understanding the question, she won't be offended. Make sure you count everything she marks wrong on a quiz or test as she rushes through them and makes simple mathematical errors sometimes for better or worse.
I have watched my grade go into the toilet because I truly don't understand this teacher. Her accent and frequent mistakes on the board make me nervous. Also her test grading is confusing.
Very intelligent individual. She tries to teach the big picture rather than specific problems. If you want to succeed work hard. She expects it.
She is helpful in and out of class.
She explains topics thoroughly before moving on.
Very intelligent. She explains topics thoroughly before moving on.
I really like her. She explains things well and completely, and explains how things work and why they work that way, instead of just having us memorize formulas. We always do classwork, which helps me learn the material. The hw is optional. The online quizes are hard... but she drops the lowest couple. She is super nice and willing to help.
Well first off, she has a thick Indian accent which makes her a little hard to understand. Anyway, she whips through notes on the chapter and asks if we have questions without even bothering to turn around, she makes frequent errors which definitely makes me nervous, refuses to give partial credit on tests/quizzes. Switch professors if you can.
Very clear in what she expects but when I had problem with a freeloader in my group she told me to deal with it and just do all the work. My academic adviser said take her if she is the only Math credit you need at GVSU but take a different one if you want to continue your math education.
My professor clearly states the main points of the sections. It allows us to use thought process to extend our knowledge of the main points.
She went over all of the material to be sure every student knew what to do.She is very patient & understanding and is a great instructor!
She give us a lot of practice problems to prepare for exams/quizzes. She explaines herself well & always asks if there are questions. She go over questions we have.
She is effective in many ways not only does she have us do group work but has us reiterate what we have learned with others. she did a fantastic job teaching a difficult class.
Her accent is extremely hard to understand. She doesn't directly answer questions and she needed students to clarify the questions and answers because she didn't seem to understand. I would not recommend this professor to anyone that has a difficult time in math.
She is the kindest prof at this school. Highly recommended for an easy A in calc
She does not know how to teach, it is hard to understand her. When you ask her questions, she tells you to ask other students. She never directly answers any questions. She does not teach the material well at all. If you miss one question on a test you lose five points, she is horrible.
She is very hard to understand. She does pointless "review" of sections before a quiz/test that are not even on the quiz/test. She is just a horrible teacher all around. Do not take her, or you will get a grade you won't be happy with.
Very intelligent, She tries to teach the big picture rather than specific problems which is very important for math. I would strongly recommend her.
Grading was very confusing. You may start out doing bad, but you might get a big grade boost from the in-class work. She's a nice lady, but it doesn't amend for her teaching so that first-timers taking Calc could possibly understand. I had to consult the Math Lab/friends who have taken Calc before to duke out a passing grade for this class.
She one of the best math teachers I have had. She explains everything clearly, and if you can understand English, you can understand her lol her accent makes no difference. She gives group problems during class and if you don't understand something she will work through it with you. The test questions are just like the review.
She is a great teacher! I hated math until this class. She really helps you out if you don't understand. She goes pretty slowly and makes sure you know everything. I really recommend her for this course. She's also so nice and sweet. She's so cute and is always trying to help you out.
Super helpful, makes the class much easier to understand. Make sure you really know how to use your calculator because he shows you lots of tricks to make things easier!
Shee's the only math prof I did not fall asleep to. 'Nuff said
Super clear with topics and willing to answer any questions without making you feel stupid. You can tell she really loves teaching and she's awesome at it! And by far the best looking teacher I've had in college
Best professor I've ever had. I am terrible at trig, and I would go to her office every day for homework help. She was awesome at helping me. I don't know how I got so lucky to be in her class considering most math teachers are 'blah'. TAKE Her CLASS!!!
Easy grader, fun class! I recommend taking calc with her!
I loved her. She is a awesome teacher. Web-work is tricky, but will help your grade. This class should be review for everyone. She does have an accent, but you can get used to it about a couple of weeks. The quizzes almost is close to the exam and the web work that she puts online (extra credit). I received a A. You just have to study.
I loved having her as a professor and I would love to have her again! She is very understanding and cares a great deal about how her students are doing.
Prof Srini is a very nice person and very dedicated to the success of her students. She teaches multiple approaches to algebra, which I feel helps a great deal because of the many different kinds of students. Overall, I would highly recommend Prof Srini.
Very sweet lady! She really cares and will go out of her way to help you. At first there will be times when you can't understand her but you get used to her accent very quickly, I strongly recommend her!
I had taken previous classes with her and she was great. For Calculus 2, she was just horrible She was unable to make things make sense. I would ask her for help and she would always refused. If you have extra time in class, and you ask about the hw assignment, she will NOT answer you. I am a hardworking student and she made it impossible to pass.
I would NOT suggest taking her for Calc 2. She cannot explain anything and her accent is thick on top of that. She gets mad at you if you don't understand. She doesn't know how to help. Very frustrating
It's hard to fully capture in words how useless she was for this class. Maybe she was fine for lower-level math classes, but if you take her for this prepare yourself. She takes condescending to a whole new level when you ask questions. And that's if she decides you're worthy enough to answer them. Take a different professor!
Please, I beg you, do not take this professor for Calc 2 if you want to actually learn the material. She did not teach me anything. I had to rely on the book, math center, and a tutor to pass. She is very condescending and not helpful at all. TAKE ANYONE ELSE
If you're capable of learning calculus on your own, she's great. She posts the dates of quizzes and tests well in advance so you know when you need to be in class.
I found it very difficult to understand this professor and since she does not issue a textbook, that's all you really can rely on. Constantly changing plans, and usually never knows if the class understands the material. Don't expect her to understand your questions.
DO NOT TAKE HER!I don't know why she had such good reviews, I am a good student never had below a B before I came to her class. I had her for Calc 1 she did not explain things because she can't understand english, can't teach and won't help to improve your grade. She will tell you to watch youtube videos if you have questions. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
Extremely helpful professor and I would recommend her. She cares about her students and really wants them to understand calculus concepts. Tests are focused on concepts more than calculation
She is a good teacher and I did learn a lot but she is the hardest prof I have ever had. Her expectations are way too high. If you think you can get by in this class by only studying a few hours think again or find another prof
I strongly recommend her if you are an above average student. Her standard and expectation is little high.
Loved the way this class was taught. She was always available to help and her lectures were short and concise. Would recommend her 100%.
She was very effective in getting mathematics concepts across clearly and effectively. Homework was not overwhelming, and taught at good pace.
Professor Srinivasan has effective style of teaching through examples, many examples. The in-class work is also an effective means of checking students understanding
She is very kind and quite funny. Essy to understand her lectures well-enough. She teaches well.
Very hard. Extremely thorough. She expects Lots of effort from hes students. This is a very hard class to do well in. It is possible, but very challenging. You will have to work very hard and must be thorough with every assignment, lab, and test you take. Very time consuming. Good, solid teacher but very hard.
Srinivasan does not explain any of the material and she is Indian which makes it extremely difficult to understand her. Honestly I had to have my roommate explain all the material to me from every chapter because I didn''t understand anything in her class. I would not recommend.
To be honest, she doe not teach the material. She puts a problem up on the board and expects you to know how to do it. Therefore, you need to read and practice the material before you come to class. The math center, tutors and the book will help you most. I do not recommend anyone to take her class.
Srinivasan seemed really nice at the beginning of the semester but has a strong indian accent making her hard to understand. She doesn't explain how to do the math and has even once admitted that a student in our class could explain the work better than she is. I would not recommend her. . .unless you are a packers or bears fan. #OnePride
She is AMAZING! Very helpful. She gives lecture video to watch at our own pace.
Does not understand the material she was teaching I learned more math on my own than I did from her It was really easy If you understand math, however if math isnt your strong suit run like hell
Professor Srinivasan is the best Math teacher Ive ever had. She was clear & answered your questions in great detail. Her tests were a little different than the review but it challenged yourself which helps you learn. Also she cared about the class a lot & put a lot of thought into it.
Loved this class. I liked math going in, but came out loving it even more. She explains the subject really well, and teaches in a way that is easy to understand.
It seemed that I learned nothing in this class. The students that did well in this class already understood the material and those who didn't had to rely on Google. We covered half the material that other classes covered and she never finshed questions. Do the WebWork and I love her tag line "Can you see it?!?!"
Srini is a very nice lady and a very intelligent accomplished woman, but her English is very hard to understand. She often doesn't completer her thoughts or sentences and expects the class to remember all material from past classes
Her accent is a little hard to understand sometimes. She uses activity based learning which was nice because she lectures only 15 to 20 minutes. Her tests are pretty straightforward and not too hard if you study.
She is not the greatest at lecturing. Her lectures tend to be confusing due to her not being great at explaining things. On the bright side get exams were much easier than other professors I had for this type of class and she doesn't grade very tough and doesn't go fast at all. You won't have a huge knowledge of calculus but should do well.
She is very interested in her students learning, but she is hard to understand (not because of her accent). She has trouble explaining things when the class doesnt understand. Other than that, it is not very difficult.
She is so friendly and helpful. She does go kind of fast, but if you go to her office hours she explains it slowly. do the homework - questions on test were often right from homework problems. Got an A. fairly easy class
VERY nice lady, seems like the only professor i have had that actually wants to get to know you personally. Lectures and work done in class seem a lot easier then what is on the test. All homework is online and if finished before the test you receive a 5% curve.
If you can get past the language barrier it will not be bad! Enjoyed going to her class which says a lot because I generally hate math. Very cool lady.
If you are not a good test taker, AVOID AT ALL COST! Tests are worth 70% of your grade. Webwork and classwork are worth only 160 out of 600 points. She doesn't finish her sentences and stops in the middle to say "Ya Know?" NO! We don't know! That's why you are here to teach us. She scribbles all over your paper and doesn't write in the lines!!!!!!
Easiest calc class I have taken. She's super nice and straight forward on the test.
Exams would be extremely easy if you complete all of the webwork and show up to class. Final exam needed a lot of studying because cumulative.
Professor was pretty good, expects you to know a good amount and self teach.
Great prof. really cares about you and really gets to know you. Treats you with a lot of respect and is almost like a mom. Wants nothing but for you to succeed. Definitely recommend this prof.
AMAZING professor! She was very easy going and made the material easy to comprehend. The tests were also very simple due to the fact that you were able to use a note card and also due to the professor having a review day. I would definitely recommend this professor if you are taking MATH 110.
I really enjoyed her as a professor! She was fun and lively during lectures and did a very good job explaining each problem. Although it was difficult to understand her sometimes, she was more than happy to repeat herself. Very good professor for MTH 110.
She was a great professor. Her accent wasn't too hard to understand, but she would always clarify if students couldn't understand her. She let us use half sheets of paper for "cheat sheets" on the exams (which were all very straight forward), and she would usually let us out early as soon as you were finished with your assignment. Would take again.
Professor Srinivasan is a great professor! She has you do lots of example problems during class to prepare for the exams. There are opportunities for extra credit as well. Her accent is not at all an issue and she is very understandable. I would definitely recommend!
She is very caring, easy to listen to, and interested in you as a student and a person. Her accent was difficult to understand for about the first week of class, but after that it was not an issue at all. As others have mentioned, she often ends sentences early, but this was not a problem for me. Extra credit for doing HW, would take again.
Professor Sailakshmi Srinivasan is nice, and wants you to see do well, but I wouldn't say she is an awesome professor. Yes she gives you a cheat sheet for each test, but she puts on the odd-ball examples you do once in class, and it makes the tests hard. If you make a simple mistake you lose 4% on your exam, so you can't afford to make any mistakes
Prof. S was overall a good professor for MTH 110. If I had to learn harder math from her, I would have probably struggled a bit. She has a very thick accent but I didn't mind it too much because it forced me to pay close attention. I got a really good grade in this class, but I did have to spend a little extra time in the math tutoring center
She is the best MTH 110 prof. The only homework is webwork that you must complete 80% of in order to pass, it is all due at the end of the year. Her lectures are trash, honestly so boring but you have to be in class so.. deal with it. I am a bum and just sat on my computer all class and still got an A.
Prof Srini was awesome for calc II, it was one of the easiest math courses I have ever taken
OG teacher. She would teach you exactly what you needed to know. The way she presented the info to the class was a little messy and confusing, but if you would re-write your notes in correct order you'd be fine. SHE WOULD TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT TOPICS WOULD BE ON THE TEST. Would not play games. Test heavy, but get 5% EC for doing the Webwork.
The biggest thing with this professor is the language barrier. It is most difficult to understand her at the beginning of the semster. She tries to be humerous, but the class is too easy. She also rarely accepts questions in class in relation to the homework given. If you prefer a class with no readings, take this one. Do not buy the books!!!
Love the teacher as a person and outside of the classroom she can be so nice. But, inside of the classroom the teacher is very confusing with lecture notes gave. Foreign accent does not help much either, hard to understand some of the questions you are gave. Textbook is not required, relies on desmos a graphing calculator to help you with homework.
Best math professor, she does have an accent but you can understand everything she's saying, if you've never heard of desmos, you will if you take her class and its SO helpful, she even lets us use it on exams. She also gives 5 extra credit points each exam just for for finishing 90% of that chapters homework. 10/10 recommend
Mrs. Srinivasan is a wonderful educator. She can be unhelpful when asking questions at times, but her lectures are thorough and engaging. She is really devoted to every student understanding the material individually. Class was well structured with a good balance of homework and assesments.
Great professor who understands how math works in the real world. Don't both buying the books, didn't open them once, waste of my money. Easiest math class I've ever taken. Passed with a 100% and I almost failed algebra in high school.
I love Srini, her MTH110 class that I took was the best math class I've taken by far, she was enjoyable to talk to, very knowledgeable and very accessible. I would definitely recommend
Easiest calculus prof I have ever had. After having Haidar for Calc 2, Professor S. was amazing for Calc 3. If you do the homework, you get 5% EC on the test and then another 5% if you don't use a notesheet. I easily ended the class with over 100%. I never once looked at the online textbook or went to the math tutoring center. Easy A.
Great Professor! Language barrier at first but easy to get used to. Super caring and friendly. Lots of in class group work. Wants you to succeed.
She is not the best at explaining concepts and doesn't respond to emails.
Prof Srinivasan is not a very good professor. She takes forever to respond to emails and she has a heavy accent and is hard to understand sometimes. The way she taught during online was very hard for students to learn, especially first year students. Would not recommend.
It is very difficult to understand what Professor Sailakshmi Srinivasan is saying. She is very nice, but there is a bad language barrier. The only thing that she puts in the grade book is the tests (4) and the homework (3) so you will only have that many things in the grade book. Very easy to get a bad grade if you do not do well on the test.
I don't recommend this professor because there was a language barrier and it tends to make things challenging. I also didn't really like the way she taught, things were always more confusing than they needed to be. This math class should have been super straightforward and simple, but I found it confusing because of the way she taught things.
Very nice and friendly professor, likes to get to know everyone. Very heavy accent, made it hard to understand at times but you get used to it eventually. Every day in class is group work where she just gives you a bunch of problems and you have to work with people around you. Never really helpful. Homework is online, but overall the class is easy
She is a good professor if you actually have previous understanding of math. If you aren't good at math she might be more difficult but as long as you take notes in class and pay attention you will do fine. Allows you to use desmos and a half sheet cheat sheet on tests. Just do the webwork and look over it before tests and you'll get an A.
She genuinely cares about her students and wants them to do well. Although her accent was hard to understand at first, it doesn't take long to understand. This class is very easy if you have previous math knowledge. I loved being able to use Desmos and a cheat sheet for exams, it made the class easier. Overall I would say this is an easy A class!
If you see this name while picking classes RUN. The content itself isnt confusing but the professor is. She makes things 10x harder than what they should be and assume you arent paying attention because shes not good at teaching mathematics.
pretty tough grader. failing the tests seemed to be quite normal. you can tell she cares about her students. i just don't know if teaching this is her strength.
She was one of the worst professors I've ever had. Her lectures are disorganized and I had to teach myself. The only grades in the class were three tests, 10% homework, and the final. When you ask a question, she is condescending and most of the times can't answer it. She expects that you already know everything. Doesn't use a book to help either.
After reading the reviews on how she can't speak full english I became questionable on if I would be able to understand her during her lectures. She does have an accent but she's easy to understand. She is an amazing professor. She cares fo her students and will go over any problem if you don't understand. I would take this class with her again!
She is willing to go over problems from tests and class work. The class before a test is for finishing her homework and asking her any questions which is nice. Her lectures can be confusing, but doing all of the homework and using her notes/study guides will be helpful. There are few things for the gradebook so a bad grade may be hard to bring up.
She has an accent, but it's understandable. My issue was that she was very unorganized and didn't really do notes. She would throw a question up on the board and just expect you to know how to do it without her explaining it. However, she's an understanding person and will go over any questions you have in class.
She does have an accent but she's easy to understand. She is an amazing professor. She cares fo her students and will go over any problem if you don't understand. I would take this class with her again!

Should take her class if you are responsible for your studying.
Prof Srini was awesome for calc I, it was one of the easiest math courses I have ever taken
Overall, the class wasn't difficult but I had to spend a lot of time outside of class teaching it to myself. The professor sometimes is hard to understand and doesn't fully answer your questions.
I have her for an online class and she is just okay. She can be rude at times, and makes you feel bad for getting something wrong from time to time. But the class is fairly easy. I have spent a lot of time teaching myself though. Overall shes not bad as a last resort but not a go-to choice
Throws problems on the board and and assumes that we just know it and always says "ya know?", no we don't know thats why you're teaching us. don't take her if you're already bad at math or else you'll fail like me.
Throws answers up on the board is not very helpful. She will tell you it's common sense if it was, I wouldn't be taking the class. She wasn't very helpful when you needed the help. I would not recommend taking her class if you struggle with math.
She was okay. She made some topics harder than they needed to be, but the tests were always super easy and exactly what the homework was over.
Her class is ridiculously easy, I put in absolutely no effort in her class and still passed with an A. Her assignments are super easy and take 10 minutes to do. I highly recommend taking her class.
If you struggle in math I would take this course. Every week you have a two-question quiz but they are very simple and exactly like the homework. Attendance is worth a lot of the grade but I would highly recommend this class and compared to other Math110 classes I believe this is one of the easiest and sets you up for a really good grade.
This class is great if you struggle in math, a lot of the points come from classwork so attendance does matter. Every week you would have an "exam" but it was a 2 question quiz that was just like the homework. She gives you chances to retake any exam you did bad on, and can redo hw. I recommend her, she really wants you to do good in this class.
Class was a recap of a basic high school class. If you do your homework, then everything else is pointless. Hard to understand her and to read her writing. She does not teach but provides concepts/examples to work through. Exams were weekly but online, only 2 questions, and allowed you 2 attempts at each question. Final exam was only 5 questions.
If you struggle with math, run as far away from her as you can. She starts off class by putting a problem on the board and expects you, with no knowledge of the topic, to complete the problem no more than 15 seconds after she writes it. On top of that, understanding anything she is saying is very difficult with her accent.
DO NOT listen to any of the green reviews if they are talking about her as an in-person instructor. She is not capable of properly preparing someone for her weekly 4 question exams. Her accent is a pain if you already hate math, and she does not care if you know the material. Unless you suck up, she will constantly degrade you during class.
Finally dropped out of this class and felt all the weight lifted over my shoulders. This woman cannot do her job. plain and simple. She can barley speak english, and when she does you cannot understand her. She hurls rude comments at you if you dont understand her gibberish she spews out of her mouth. Im actually so depressed since meeting her. RUN
I LOVED having her as a math teacher! Im not great at math, but her class was super easy and I passed without a problem. Her accent is a little hard to understand, but she really does want to help her students. Homework assignments are online, and they're all easy since she lets you use Desmos. Our final exam was 10 questions, which wasnt too bad.
Great professor. Explains well and will repeat as many times to clear any confusion. Meet during her office hour if you need help.
Professor is understanding, but lectures can be confusing. Attendance is mandatory, but homework and weekly quizzes are straightforward. unstuck ai helped me prepare for exams along with the provided study guides.
She makes me depressed. Her lessons are all over the place and don't make sense. When we get a problem wrong she walks away instead of explaining. YouTube was my actual teacher here. Attendance is mandatory. Quiz every Tuesday. I ended with an A but endured pain.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IT IS HORRIBLE!!! She is not helpful at all and you have to get the homework answers the first time or you only get half credit.
I had a fairly easy time with this class but the lectures were pretty disorganized. Weekly exams with retakes the next week. Weekly homework as well on webwork. Sometimes can be hard to understand. She relies a lot on Desmos and Geogebra for calculations rather than manual methods. If you plan on taking MTH203, I recommend learning by-hand methods.
She was very caring and interacted well with her students. As long as you show up to the class and complete the homework assignments you will have no problem getting a good grade.
