I was dissapointed in his class. The tests and homework were not a problem as he gave clear instructions and study guides, it was the weekly quizzes that were confusing as he never gave clear instructions on what the quizzes would cover. He doesn't grade on a curve and weighs the quizzes heavily. Still, it was not difficult to get a good grade.

I disagree with the people who say that Diaz is not a good teacher. I took this class because my friends liked it a lot and I have enjoyed it. I took it online over the summer and while there was lots of work, it was not too much that I felt I couldn't get it done. About 6 assignments each week which was helpful because if you do bad on one assignment, it doesn't deeply affect your grade. He was very accessible outside of class and emailed back quickly. Pretty easy A

I took an asynchronous 6-week history class from Prof. Diaz. As long as you're not taking one of his classes and doing a lot over the summer, I recommend him as a professor! Homework per week was a few chapters of reading, 5-ish analysis questions, and a short quiz. Midterm & final were the same thing, but on a larger scale.

I usually respect teachers and professors, but I just did not understand him. The textbook was long, but only a portion of the information was actually needed. I took it in the spring, online, but I saw other reviews, so I guess he is just not the type of person to take as an online class. I put a 2, but he is reasonable.

The class was pretty easy. A lot of the material in here was covered in my high school classes so I didn't struggle with the material. Homework assignments were graded really slowly though so I didn't know what my grade was for a majority of the class. Besides that assignments were straightforward and simple.

He was a Great Teacher! I took him asynchronously online for Hist 1.2 and I would say that it's pretty average with just one assignment consisting of 5 questions, a discussion, and a quiz. The Midterm and Final exams are the same but on a bigger scale with around 12 questions. If you emailed, he would respond quickly! If you try you can get an A.

Professor Diaz is a true gem. If you are looking to learn about interesting, obscure historical facts, this class is perfect. Sal really cares about student success and offers plenty of extra credit. An easy A as long as you participate.

Per week we had: 1 discussion, 1 writing assignment which was to answer 3 questions with to total assignment being 300-600 words, and 1 quiz (answers not on Quizlet). Final and midterm was the writing assignment but 10 questions instead of 3. Easy grader, take him if you want an easy gen ed class.

Prof. Diaz keeps the material engaging. Assignments are manageable, and he's adapted well to online classes. I found unstuck AI helpful for exam prep. Overall, a solid history course.

Great Class! Took his online class in the Spring and it was really good. Not hard just do your work and many videos to watch but most are short. Plus, quizzes each module but not too hard. There is a final Exam which was easy if you payed attention, read, watched videos and did your work. If you are wanting to take this class I highly recommend!

Class just included watching videos and completing homework assignments related to the topic. With 3 FRQ questions and a quiz, as well as a discussion question weekly. So overall, very light workload.

I wouldn't recommend taking any of his classes. All we did was watch Crash Course History on youtube and read the textbook, but he didn't actually teach us anything. I almost feel like it's unfair to pay tuition for someone to just give you youtube links to watch when you can do that on your own. Also his grading policy is terrible.

Took HIST 8.1. At least half of the assigned course work was YouTube videos from "CrashCourse" and another channel called Ancient America's. I didn't pay to watch free YT videos. No lectures. In addition to non-cited e-textbook, he had us read two 400 page books. Heaviest workload I've ever seen. Not instructing. Don't waste your time or money.
