He's the best!
You probably learn more in his class than any other teacher but have to be up for class debates. He's really helpful and understanding if you talk to him.
tough but fair. teaches like its a grad-level class. Uses slides to talk about different countries political situation. A+ in professionalism and teaching style.
Too smart to be teaching this here. He uses such big words and convoluted ideas but then tries hard to make sure you understand. Really good teacher but I am prejudiced because he gave me A.
Good class especially during election times because we talked a lot about that. I think he was good.
There is some lecture and A LOT of class discussion and participation. He is a very interesting professor.
The best course I have taken at PSU Abington. An excellent teacher who engages students in thought provoking discussions and uses present day events effectively as examples. He'll make you earn your grade, but he is fair. All courses should be this good.
absolutly the man..best tracher at abington...is like your buddy when your in class..tests are a little hard and no extra credit but a few quizzes but the class is deffinitly well worth it.
love this guy!1!! he's tough but the greatest teacher you will get. Dr. G in the hoouse!
my favorite class. he is the man. tests are ok but he gives a detailed review b4 the exams.
yes he is a nice guy and his lectures sometimes are interesting but his exams are very challenging, avoid if possible... did i mention attendance is mandatory
Salar is the man. Hilarious and extremely smart. Class is always interesting and he does not put anything on the test that is not on the review. Although, test were a little difficult.
Hardest class in my three years here but the best one as well. Yes he is difficult and yes avoid if you don't want to work too hard.
nice guy, funny but a very hard grader attendence is a MUST bc there are pop quizzes
He is a great teacher, you will learn a lot from his class. The classes are challenging, but not in a bad way. Anyone who actually wants to learn something should take his class. There was a lot of reading, but the important stuff was reviewed in class. There's no extra credit, probably because he's super busy.

Amazing teacher and awesome class but probably a little difficult for an intro class. Three difficult tests and class participation and attendance is a must do if you want to do well but he reviewes before every exam. You have to do the readings (and there are a lot of that) if you dont want to look stupid when he randomly calls on you.
Great class. If it wasn't required, I'd probably have taken it as an elective. Attendance is mandatory and you've got to read a lot of material, but he does cover just about everything in class and gives very thorough reviews before exams. There's no real homework, but every now and then he threw a pop quiz in there to make sure we were reading.
He is a very smart man. His classes are hard but you will get alot out of it. If you are going to college for a good grade and dont want to learn, avoid his classes. But if you care about learning then Salar is your man.
real good. he can actually kinda dazzle and sicken u at the same time with how much he knows about pretty much everything. he's humorous but not corny which is good in a teacher. tough grader and the tests arent easy. dont even think about being late to his class or being absent because he'll let you know and it'll kill ur grade esp bc of pop q's
I agree that he was an incredible teacher. What I liked most about him was that he actually learned all of our names even in the very big class, not many teachers did.
Great teacher, if you're looking to learn take his class. Made class fun and every lecture was insightful. Would definitely take his class again.
Awesome professor. He made learning something about law interesting. Barely used the Book and got an A in the class. Reviews are very helpful. A professor worth taking even if your major has nothing to do with business.
Hard tests but he's overall a very fair grader. He Gives great notes and reviewes the details with you if you couldn't understand. He should be teaching more of the BA courses. knows his stuff.
Tells jokes, very fair, and test is from notes and book. You will need to buy the book. Requires critical thinking. GREAT TEACHER.
extremely smart, very helpful, adorable sense of humor, fantastic teacher.
amazingg teacherr. material is interesting and he makes the class pretty funny. You actually learn things are useful and you might use in real life and in other classes. def take this class i lovee salar :) he even still talks to me when he sees me in the hallways
Great professor. Very professionally dressed and spoke professionally. Very knowledged on what he talked about, and has a lot of accomplishments to back it up. All in all, I enjoyed his class thouroughly. Teaches very well and explains everything well, but he is a tough teacher nonetheless. But take him and u will not regret it
Great teacher! If you actually want to learn take this teacher. you wont regret it. Tests are a little hard, but manageable. Take this teacher he is great.
Salar is an excellent teacher who is overqualified for PSU, and should probably be teaching at Harvard. He's with us for whatever reason and i for one am glad he has been. He has a great sense of humor and uses really good examples for something as complicated as law. Don't miss the reviewes sessions because they really help you understand.
Great professor. Very knowledgeable. Class can be difficult but if you study you will be fine. Very helpful.
he's a very inspiring teacher and very witty. he is not easy but i didn't mind because i felt i learned a lot in this class, more than many other classes.
Salar is awesome funny and smart. He's probably got 10000 books in his head and really knows about the real world and how things work in the business world. Asks a lot of questions, pop quizzes every now and then and mandatory attendance. Three tests but he gives good reviews even though he finishes the whole 600 pages of the book.
2 semesters at abington and 4 at temple. salar is the best professor i've had so far. this guy is brilliant. talk to him you'll learn alot about life
As an adult student I have had many teachers. I can say without a moment's hesitation that Professor Gharamani has been my #1 professor. He is intelligent, caring, helpful, funny, and much more. He taught me about my own government and our constitution. He spent so much time with patience to make sure everybody understood material not always easy.
Salar is an extremely intelligent professor. The class is not boring because he makes it enjoyable with really in depth examples. He is more than happy to clarify anything for you. The exams should be ok if you study as a college student. I am looking forward to taking more classes with him.
Tough but an EXCELLENT teacher. Wonderful personality, great sense of humor and very respectful. Three tests and discussions are part of the grade. Be warned the tests arent easy but he reviewes very well and gives awesome lectures filled with examples.
Great, great, great professor! He is a wonderful and very intelligent person. I knew nothing about business, and still managed to get an A in his class. Just make sure you go to every class, and take good notes, and you'll do fine! Definitely take his class!
salar's one cool dude. he teaches you SO MUCH. it's not just memorization either. it's to think. at first i was scared to talk in his class because he calls on you but he was so attentitive and respected everyone's opnions and never made anyone feel dumb i felt comfortable in raising my hand even. amazing guy and an excellent prof.
Salar was probably the best professor I've taken so far being a sophomore here. Definitely learn a lot and he respects everyone's opinion. Read everything carefully on the exams.
simply wonderful person and a an awesome professor. you learn a lot in this class. difficult but a very fair grader. he's always willing to listen which is rare.
once in a college life time experience. if you haven't had Salar as a teacher then you must b4 you graduate. he'll teach you so much and he'll make you think. his class isn't easy but he's awesome, intelligent, amazing, great.
Salir is the definition of a true teacher. I feel like he should teach other teachers how to teach, he's that informative and knowledgable.
Great human being and a great teacher. youll learn things in his class that you cann actually use in the real world. wonderful person.
Amazing Professor - Most intelligent man I have ever met. Extensive experience in DC, and political world. Reading is vital, yet material is interesting to anyone. Would take Salar for many more classes.
One of the best professors I ever had. Wish I went to his class more in the begining of the year. I got a B- in his class but i learned so much and he made a boring topic actaully interesting. Strongly Encourage taking his class.
If you want to understand and want to taught professionally than He is the best proffessor for you. In his class you really would make the memorries that you would remember forever. His class is a combination of hard work, funn, vry logical and interesting. Just don't miss out!!!!!!
Great Professor. very clear, memorable. read the material it helps.
take him! he knew what he was talking about and not too shabby ;). its hard not to pay attention and i kinda enjoyed going to class..i recommend him. i had him two semesters ago and he still knows my name when i pass him in the hall :)
Great guy, he will call on random people in class just to make sure u read the chapter or just to have u participate. Never never be late to his class. He won't let u in or will kick u out. 4 exams nothing cumulative. Very reasonable and reply heavily on notes. If u wanna learn. Take him.
Difficult material but an INCREDIBLE teacher and even a better person who walks with you every step of the way so we all do well. You can tell he loves what he teaches and brings so much positive energy to the classroom. You can't go through college without having him. A must-take teacher, but be ready for the challenge.
All of his exams are based on the notes which he goes over very crystal clear. Must go to every class. Not boring at all, i would deff take him over and over. He is also very funny and cares about his students. He is a MUST TAKE.
He is the best teacher I ever had at Penn State. Very passionate about his work and will help you throughout the whole course. Very funny and extremely intelligent.
Best teacher I have ever had in my four years of college!! take him !!! cares so much about all of his students. knew all of our names on the second day of class. very interesting class. wish I could take his class again!!
I was only in Salar's class for 1 day, due to a mix up. But that was the best day in my life at penn state. He made that first class so fun and interesting that you didnt even realize that you were learning. his class was so great that I seriously thought about taking it even though Ive already earn the credits for that course last year.
Great teacher. If you attend class, which he actually makes interesting you will do fine. His tests are based entirely off of his notes, which he will almost spell out for you how to take them so you know what to study. I learned a lot in his class and had a great time, would take him over and over again.
super good teacher, caring, very very funny, and really smart. tests are all based notes but they arent easy. takes attendance every class. u lose pts for being late to class but overall very fair. id take him many times over
Extremely nice guy. Casual class. He's pretty sarcastic but funny nonetheless. No homework or papers. Just a final and a midterm but there is a lot of material covered and the tests are pretty hard. I would recommend him.
salar is a wonderful profesor. covers a lot and has you reading the whole semeser. high standards but not impossible. strict on attendance and being late but very funny and friendly person. unlike some other teachers he quickly responds to emails and is helpful outside of class. id highly suggest him.
Quite possibly the best professor I have ever had! He makes class extremely interesting...I actually looked forward to this class. Salar is hilarious! He knows everyone by name and he's extremely helpful.
Awesome class and the professor is one of the best. His lectures are very clear and he makes sure everyone has the notes. I would definitely take him again and recommend his classes to everyone. He makes class go by with his whit and humor. Never any homework or a textbook to buy. However, there is case law study to purchase.
salar is an extremely fair and helpful teacher. this class is challenging and requires a lot of reading but he gives you very good notes to prepare. excellent teacher and class overall.
I am taking Professor Salar now for this course. He is a lovely man who loves and knows what he is teaching. You'll have to work for your A, but its all worth it. YES, YOU ACTUALLY LEARN IN THIS CLASS. I love him because he is professional and treats his students as such. All the money you are dumping to PSU, he'll make sure that you're learning.
I am pretty sure his class has changed from what it used to be. Everything is online from the quizzes to the final.Grade breaks down to be 600 points for online quizzes, 300 for the final and 100 points for professonailism. Dont miss a class or be late!! Seems easy so far and another cool thing is he knows everyones name! I dont know how he does it
great professor!!!! his lectures are actually fun to listen to and u learn a lot throuought the semester. the quizzes are mostly research. the final wasnt easy if you didnt take good notes. overall a very fair profeeosr. highly recommended!!!!
He is one of the nicest, most polite professors I've ever had. Not only does he know everyone's name, but he learns them on the first day of class and does not forget. Make sure you go to class everyday & aren't late or else he'll call you out in front of the whole class for it. One final, a few online quizzes, & two paper. Really knows his stuff!
He's extremely interesting his class is definitely not boring. However, it is not an easy A and you do have to work for it, but you can get an A for him. If you are looking for an easy class this isn't it, but if you are looking for a great prof & a challenging class this is it.
Penn State would do well to do everything in its power to not let this professor even consider the idea of going anywhere else. Outstanding ! A must experience. If you're lazy, don't take him. This is what learning should be like at all times.
Prof. Salar is a kind and wonderful teacher. He is interesting and fair but the course is overall challenging. I learned a lot in this class and I thank him for being one of the best teachers there is.
This class is definitely passable and Dr. G is a fair and overall good guy. I took the six week course and we had weekly online quizzes and maybe 1 or 2 test. Just take notes and you will pass.
First off this professor is the most charismatic man I ever met. Intelligent nice and so good looking!! The class is HARD but the professor gives amazing lectures. Take him you wont regret!!!!
Prof assigns no homework. All quzzes are online, though teacher rarely makes use of email to communicate
This was an awesome class and he's an awesome teacher. His memory is amazing, he will remember everything about you and the class after day 1. All assignments are online, but the final is what you do in class so take a lot of notes!
This was one of my favorite classes so far but I had to work hard for it. Some of the assignments take a long time to complete but they force you to learn the stuff. He doesnt give extensions so you have to manage your time. In general I would recommend taking him.
Dr. G is an incredibly kind guy and has a distinct way of teaching. He just kind of smoothly transitions from casual talking into teaching lessons and back and forth. He makes business law (a not-so-interesting to me topic) very understandable and pretty interesting. I definitely recommend him. No textbook, only a copy of the Constitution.
Take him Easy A+
Dr salar has amazing teaching skills. Class goes by quickly though some of the online assignments take too long. He has you do 15 angel lessons that are either readings or research and then you do tests for each one. his final is cumulative and there is also online discussion boards. Would recommend but you gotta put your time in.
Dr. Salar is more than anything a great person all around. I loved seeing him every week and learned so much from him. He is a gem and a gentleman. I would take him again in a heartbeat.
Being a hybrid class, all the work was online. As long as you do the readings for the quizzes, you should easily get an A. There is no textbook so he recites notes out of memory. He remembers everyone after the first day. Good teacher, I would take again
Dr. Salar is an awesome person with an interesting personality. I honestly could not help but keep laughing during his class because he has a hilarious sense of humor. Not everyone finds him funny, I guess he's an acquired taste. He remembers every little detail and will remember you. His lectures are interesting and I got and easy A in his class.
Awesome professor. Very good looking in a studious way. (respectful way) He knows his students and keeps the class entertained. He makes hard concepts easy by relating them to real life events. His examples are relatable and he shows compassion for what he does. TAKE HIM!
Really enjoyed his class. Nice guy and the lectures are always on point. Explains complicated topics very simply. Entertaining and informative. Attendance is mandatory. Make sure you do the discussion forums. Always use professional tone when speaking to him or writing an email, either "Mr." or "Professor." He's by the book but very fair.
Good class. Some of the work was challenging but manageable. Fair grader, would take again.
I took Dr. Salar two years ago for this class (business law). I still remember his lectures on contract law. He is an amazing person and a wonderful professor. I wish I could retake the class with him. Like most people I know if you take him you won't regret.
The way he explains things is unique. As a student who always said at the beginning of the semester "I will not procrastinate"... Always ended up procrastinating. His class was a relief to the stress that came with having to keep up with all my classes. Because when he teaches you actually learn and remember the topics discussed. This is college!
Professor Salar is a very thoughtful and caring individual who knows his stuff, and knows how to teach it. Great personality and just adorable. My class called him Mr. Charisma!!!
Salar is a very great professor whose lectures make the material a lot easier to understand. Class had a final exam and online quizzes and discussions. Pretty easy class and it is only 6 weeks. Definitely recommend taking this class as a Gen Ed
One of the kindest people you meet and his class goes by so quick. Salar makes you both think and laugh. Good lectures and mandatory attendance. Very handsome gentleman !
He's a good guy. Makes class bearable. He takes the wall clock down in the beginning of class tho, so thats kinda petty. He gives online quizzes and online discussions. Attendance mandatory.
Professor Salar's class is very enjoyable to sit through. Clear lectures and gives you good notes. He answers questions carefully and never makes you feel dumb. He came highly recommended and did not disappoint.
Prof. Salar was the best! Genuinely cares about his students and wants you to succeed. His lectures were great since he doesn't teach from the textbook or power points. He has a great personality and made the class fun every time. Highly recommend!
This course was the most enjoyable courses I took in a long time. Professor Salar kept everyones attention by keeping us all on our toes. Attendance was mandatory but class was once a week for 8 weeks. Online quizzes were straight from the book. The in class essay was just about what we lectured about in class.
Prof. Ghahramani was an amazing professor! Very enthusiastic about the material he taught and always created great discussions in class. No exams, and if you do good on the online quizzes and discussions, you don't have to take the Final. Would definitely recommend to all students!
nice guy, awesome lectures. make sure to show up to class, overall one of the best classes at penn state
Amazing online class. I highly recommend everyone take it. Class consisted of 16 online quizzes, all due at the end of the semester. You get to work at your own pace, and as long as you are reading, you'll do great. 10/10
Professor Salar was very funny in class and he made the lectures interesting and it made you catch your attention. Lectures are once a week and quizzes are all online. Quizzes have a strict policy of not being able to go back once you start them and go on to the next question. Have to go to class for participation and attendance grade.
Online/One day a week class. No tests/quizzes. About 14 Online homework's all due at the end of the semester. Lectures are very interesting and interactive. Final was optional if you did well enough on the homework's. Would definitely take him again!! You just need to show up to class for the attendance/participation grade & your good.
Extremely smart professor, so be prepared to get called out. The class is 1 day a week for 7 weeks, and the only work besides showing up to class is doing online homework quizzes (which there are quizlets for). All you really have to do is prepare for discussion and participate, and you will get an A
The assignments are from his class lectures and notes on canvas. Super patient professor with these crazy hypotheticals about law. He calls on you randomly so be ready . Would take again
Lovely professor whose respctefullness and professionalism stands out. Participation and attendance is graded based on a rubric. He strictly follows the syllabus so there are no surprises but it also means you cant redo any of your quizzes.
Straight forward class with no surprises. The research part can get a bit much but you have all semester to do it. Fair grader overall and a very caring individual.
He's literally amazing!
I had Professor Salar two years ago. He is the best teacher I had so far. He still remembers my name when I see him in the campus, he asked about my mother who has been sick. We need more professors like Professor Salar.
Really cares about what he teaches. Grades based on timed online tests but are very easy. Beware of being called on in class, especially if you seem like you aren't paying attention.
This was like the laziest class I have ever taken. He gave us a weekly discussion board but it was literally the same exact question each week, I mean the class was pretty easy but he just put in no effort as a professor. There are 15 quizzes but everything is open book so it is not really challenging.
I took Prof Salar for Honors Polo Sci, and it was an online asynchronous course. As someone interested in the subject, I was very disappointed that I simply read the textbook with no supplemental materials. Might as well just saved a couple thousand dollars and just bought the textbook alone.
Hard to describe the kindness and expertise of this professor. I had him in a masters program class on international labour law at the Royal University of Law & Economics in Cambodia law school. We were mix of French and local students. By the end of term we all wanted to invite him to dinner just to spend more time with him. We did. Amazing Prof.!
I was in Professor Salar's Honors class, and really enjoyed his teaching style. There were five reflection papers and a lot of participation. Fair grader and he gives good helpful comments on your papers. Great teacher and you learn a lot.
Salar Ghahramani was one of the best professors ever! If you are taking him as a WEB PLSC class, please make sure to do the weekly discussions and continue to do them during the week because that is what a big chunk of your grade is. 10/10 recommend him!
This was a great class and the professor is really good and knowledgeable. The discussions and the videos really helped but you really have to manage your time. I would take Professor Salar again in the future.
Took him during the summer and his class was simple. It was a 4 week class, so it was really fast-paced but as long as you stay on top of things, you should be good. It's not a super interesting class, but if you care about politics. the discussions are interesting. Make sure you do them because these greatly impact your grade! Quizzes are easy too
I was in his business law class last semester. The class was heavy on discussions but he makes you comfortable. Professor Salar is an amazing story teller. The law hypotheticals grab you and are very interesting. He uses them in the quizzes and the test also but there are good reviews.
Loved Professor Salar's class. He is a beautiful gentleman in so many ways. Dr. Salar has real conversations with you and teaches you that way. You had to show up to class and he would call on you if you missed but I loved the class and his way of teaching.
This class is pretty easy as long as you follow the syllabus and complete the assignments and discussion posts. There are no zoom meetings, so literally all you have to do is complete the assignments on canvas and that's it. The professor is also pretty nice and answers emails somewhat quickly, so it's easy to get into contact if you need to.
His class stands somewhere between difficult and interesting. It is a little hard to grasp things, but his lectures are amazing! Ngl, I thought the 6-9 PM class might be boring, but he gives about 15-20 mins break in between which is realistic, because we loose focus after some time. I would definitely take him again. Loved his class!
Prof Ghahramani is wonderful I really enjoyed his class. Its more on the lecture/discussion side, & participation is valued. He may call on you once or twice, but its very lighthearted, & its alright if youre wrong. Theres a textbook & mini-constitution that's required. You dont need to take many notes in class, most of it is done on your own time.
Taking his class this semester. I have one word to describe Professor Salar: kind. He is the sweetest man you meet. Thank you professor.
He is very nice and makes the class really interesting. I learned so much from the lecture so I highly suggest not to miss the class because it is lecture heavy. The topic is quite difficult, meaning you actually have to study the materials.
He is very intelligent. I learned a lot from him. I tried my best, came to every class, and participated in cold calls (structured like law classes.) I still got a B :/.Absolutely ZERO feedback on the final, quizzes, or as to why I got low 90% in class participation. Don't take if you don't want to be cold called on or if you dislike harsh grading.
Kind and thoughtful professor. This was an interesting change in pace because he doesn't use powepoints and so it's mostly conversation and discussion based. He stresses critical thinking and makes you think on the spot. I personally like the approach better than long lectures so I would definitely take another class with him.
This was one of the best experiences I had this semester. The professor is very intelligent and has high standards that take getting used to but he's very nice and fair.
Good class. The professor is very smart and respectable. He learns all the names very quickly and calls on you but in a friendly way. There were 15 online assignments that he lets you do online. They're not timed which was a big plus for me. He also gives an in class assignment that he gives you reviews for in advance.
Professor Salar is great - fair grader, caring, and engaging. The class has participation, quizzes, and a research project, but with manageable workload. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for study prep.
Expansive knowledge in his discussions, cold-calling always, but encourages open thought and participation. Try your best, he doesn't like the "I don't know" answers, rather appreciates trying and getting it wrong. No PowerPoint, especially no tech, just listen and think and follow along. Inspiring and intelligent, students are lucky to experience.
Salar's class structure is great! Graded on 3 quizzes (55%) and 1 discussion (45%) every 2-3 weeks. If you don't reply to the discussions, he will send an email reminding you to through Starfish. Overall, easy gen-ed, and recommend if you need some.
Dr Salar's class feels like college. Expects you to be prepared and is clearly always prepared. No electronics. He doesn't use powerpoints. Knows his stuff when you ask him questions. Wouldn't recommend missing class. He grades you on participation and professionalism. One in-class essay with review. Very fair overall. Would definitely take again.
I loved this class. Professor Salar has a very gentlemanly way about him. He is no nonsense and straightforward but very helpful at the same time. Unique way of teaching with no electronics added to the experience. Attendance and participation counts big. I would definitely take his class again.
Class was fine it is boring. Professor would call on you randomly to answer. All assignments are due by the end of semester so that was good. Speaks slowly and serious. Have one in person essay as final. Attendance was not mandatory but was noted. Finished the class with an A.
Great class but with work. No powerpoint mostly discussion. 15 assignments + a research project he gave a review for so no surprises. Salar learned everyone's name the first day which is impressive and cold calls to make sure your with it but is also very nice if you don't know. Puts pro in professor and actually knows his stuff. Lovely gentleman.
