Take good notes and do his homework, participation isn't a must but it does help for the test. His grading style is harsh but its straight from his teaching. Hes a great teacher you'll love his class.

I really didn't like this teacher because I felt he was a bit rude to me. His lectures are very interesting and you honestly learn a lot. If your a religious person do not take his class because he exposes his students to all kinds of ideas of religion and it may offend people. This class is truly hard. I studied hrs every day and got a C.

He is energetic, raw, and with a dirty sense of humor. You must come with an open mind or you'll be offended. He's intolerant to bull, disrespect, cellphones, and will crush you if caught cheating. Tough grader, tests follow heavily on lecture, book passages, and handouts. You MUST memorize ~30 words per test. As he says, "this isn't a wussy class"

"This is no wussy class." He clearly states that his goal before tests (especially the first one) is to stress you out as much as possible. However, if you do all the homework, nothing on the test will be new to you. Ask questions in class, he'll explain until you understand.
