Expect a lot of challenging homework. Make sure you complete all homework and quizzes because towards the end they really matter for extra credit. He is a great professor who will help so make sure you go to his office hours! The exams are tough as well but the extra credit pays off for everything.
Class is him reading off a confusing PowerPoint which is later posted online. The Homework is VERY hard, but he doesn't understand how much his extra credit is worth and ends up giving way too much. Don't go to class, you'll learn nothing. Easy A, but the homework is incredibly time-consuming and frustrating and he is the worst lecturer I've had.
Gives a lot of extra credits that can help you to pump your grade letter! lecture are sometimes boring. He is a very nice guy and alway willing to help! online homework and quizzes are long and need time but they help you to keep up with the material.
You have a lot of online hw, but plenty of time to do it! His tests are not that bad, and he gives you so much extra credit opportunities that you will be fine even if you fail 1 of the 3 exams. He is super nice and approachable.
Saleh is an amazing teacher and great role model. Great style with energetic love of economics and is willing to meet with students about any subject relevant to his expertise.
He really loves what he does and he is friendly and willing to help anyone if you ask. I found his powerpoints to be confusing, but when it came time for tests if I practiced old exams enough I was able to do well on them. He takes attendance and most of the class is online even though he doesn't allow electronics in the classroom.
I've never reviewed a teacher on here but sales was so great I just had to. Sales was very understanding of my work conflicts and was incredibly approachable. He really understands the concept of learning to understand the material as opposed to just learning of the test. I would recommend this class to anyone.
SO MUCH extra credit that you can literally get an 120% in the class. Attendance is graded which is a drag b/c his lectures are SO BORING and he goes so slowly. I did all my work, showed up to class, and even got high B's and A's on the tests but I feel like I barely learned anything. Easy A but don't expect to learn anything or enjoy yourself.
very good, take again!
I loved his class, yes his lectures are slow like people are saying but i did learn a lot. A lot of extra credit and chance for you to bring up your grade. Overall i would recommend him.
He cares a lot for student grades. A little boring in class but overall great experience and he offered grades alternatives. I took summer class with him.
Econ Stats Class is set up well but it is difficult. He tries really hard to make it easy and understandable! I would recommend going to talk to him because he is a cool guy!
Saleh was a good professor overall. Your grade depends on only a few assignments: each exam was worth 20% of the total grade, homework was 20% and attendance was 20% (although I liked that he had some wiggle room for the attendance). My advice for success in this class is to do all of your homework early and go to every class! An A is achievable!
He was great. The homework was short and taught you what you needed to know. The tests were all graded on a 10 point curve.
Saleh was a good teacher, but not great. He makes a lot of sports examples in class which makes class more fun if you enjoy sports. The homework aren't very difficult and will teach you all you need to know for the tests. 5/22 questions on each test are directly from previous exams, which he provides, and he adds 10 points to every test. 8/10
T-Brizy is a good professor, but he can be really unclear during his lectures. He does add extra points to his test, and some question come straight from past exams, but his tests can be tricky. He is very caring and willing to help if you don't know what is going on.
Attendance is required as he passes around a sign in sheet randomly during the week. Attendance is apart of your grade. Tests are pretty easy, he gives you all his old tests from the previous years to study with. Also gives a extra credit opportunity in the middle of the semester to earn 5% bonus. Show up and put minimal effort and you'll get a A.
I've never taken notes in class but attendance is part of the grade so show up. His lectures will confuse you so as long as you read the powerpoints you'll get an A on the tests - really easy material. He isn't afraid of calling people out in class and kicking you out if you're on your phone or sleeping
Honestly this class sucks. It is so boring but you have to go because he passes around the stupid attendance sheet. I did not take a single page of notes but I will be getting an A in the class. His tests are just like the review ones. He is just a boring lecturer
Nice guy, not the best teacher. His lectures are a complete waste of time, but mandatory because he takes attendance. I had to teach this class to myself. However, he gives a ton of extra credit which is really nice.
One of the easiest classes. Classes are mandatory. However, his lectures are pointless. All his lecture slides are online, which are helpful but are redundant. His lectures are pointless in that he mainly speaks about baseball and explain sports and pop culture in detail for international students. He's overly dramatic and needs to get to the point
Lectures are very boring, though required. Online HW can be difficult, but helpful for exams. Very knowledgeable guy, but drags on and on before getting to the point.
Saleh truly cares about his field of study, and is well knowledgeable. But, he doesn't translate this knowledge into a way that any student can understand. His lectures are long, boring, and so easy to get lost. I taught myself 99% of this course because his lectures didn't make sense, and I went to class everyday. Although, it is an easy course.
I enjoyed having him for class. He was very smart and was always good to address people in class. He would always be fair to push the homework back if we did not cover it.
Lectures run long but if you at least go to class and try to listen and not be glued to your computer or phone you will be okay. He post exams from the previous 6 semesters so you basically know what the tests will be like. Optional make up on the final. He cares more about how you learn rather then what you learn but will make sure understand.
He is a great guy, but he is not the best teacher. He is very nice, but his lectures are awful. I taught myself 99% of the material on my own from the power points and random Youtube videos. I would recommend this class just because it is very hard to fail! All in all he was cool just sucked at lecturing.
Had it's ups and downs. The professor was hard to follow in class just because some of the material was hard to understand verbally. You have to come to class because he has quizzes constantly (which are easy). The second exam was the hardest for sure so study really hard on that one. Although not the easiest, it's definitely bearable.
Saleh is a very kind person. If you reach out to him, he will take the time to meet with you. The problem lies in his explanations. He is very fond of overcomplicating the material in a way that leaves you more confused when you ask for help. You're better off teaching it to yourself, looking up lessons on youtube, or taking the class online.
Saleh is objectively a great lecturer. He is clear, understandable, and even interesting. However, his lectures hardly correlate to the homework and the homework does not correlate to the exams. I can't tell if that is a fault of his or of the class itself/the department. I think he's a really solid choice, though, and I enjoyed his class.
Terrible lecturer, he makes class very boring and everything seem harder to understand than it is. Class is mandatory, however, if you do the homework and get A's on the test, you don't need to go everyday to make an A in the class. The tests are very similar to the reviews, and they are easy as long as you study.
good teacher
His lecture was painful to sit through. his explanations always left me more confused. there are a lot of ways to get points through homework and attendance quizzes however there is little to no overlap in the homework and tests. the formatting is completely different. he lectures a lot over excel which is not what the tests are over.
Lectures are awful, homework doesn't match anything on tests, in class quizzes make up 10% of your grade. I had to teach myself virtually everything due to his pointless lectures. My other classes were hurt by how much time I had to take to teach myself Statistics. He heavily focused on Excel functions, but can't use computers on tests. Awful. 0/10
Prof Saleh lectures on excel and the tests and HW have nothing to do with excel. Very confusing when he explains things and it will cost you when grades are posted. Avoid at all costs. Worst professor i have ever had at OU
Honestly, just take the online course and save yourself some grief. Like, really.
This professor is horrible. His lectures don't help at all with homework, in-class quizzes, and especially the exams. He is unnecessarily rude and snarky towards students. This is the worst class I've ever taken. Don't. Take. Him.
He does not tech you at all. All he talks about is excel and the tests require no use of excel as they are on paper. The last test he made everyone did awful on and he had to curve it. He teaches in such an over complicated way that is it just more worth it to teach yourself things. bad teacher, take anyone else.
Hard to follow during lectures because he will start rambling about unnecessary topics.
In this class attendance isn't mandatory but he gives 2-3 quizzes that are 2-5 questions each class so if you skip your grade will drop because of the excessive amount of quizzes. Good luck getting through it & actually learning stats
This man simply cannot teach. I'm not sure whether or not he knows this is a beginner course, but he rambles and runs through each concept one time. No matter how complex it is, he never stops to check if we actaully retain any of the information. His notation when writing notes is unnecessarily difficult to understand. Do not take this professor.
This class isn't that hard if you follow along when he goes over quizzes (there are about 1-2 every day but he almost always goes over the answers for them) and do the homework. Both are a good enough basis of learning to help on the tests in spite of the fact that Saleh doesn't have the best lectures (boring, long winded)
Take his course if you actually wanna learn stats & pass it. Saleh is the best. He lectures really well & he is always helpful. His exams are not super easy. But you can easily get good grades if you study. You have access to previous exams, like all of them. He is also very nice & polite. I'm gonna take another econ course with him in spring.
Dr. Tabrizy was a good professor. gives good lectures. gives you all the course materials and old exams. but you gotta go to class for quizzes and examples. otherwise you miss a lot of information. one of the best profs here at OU.
I liked his lectures. He also teaches excel which is good. First exam is easy, the second one is hard.... but I got A in both. He actually puts like 10 extra points in each exam. It helps a lot. There are also quizzes in class. The exam questions are sometimes similar to the quiz question. Go to class and take notes.
The worst professor Ive ever had. Nothing he talks about in class is tested over. Go to class because you get points from in class quizzes but he teaches in excel the literal whole time and doesnt teach you anything that is on the exam. Do not take him if possible.
Worst professor I have ever had. Creates confusion over fairly easy material with his lectures. Making this class way more difficult than it is. I earned a letter grade B for 89.99% in class, which was ridiculous. Do not take him.
Dr. Sahabehtabrizy is one of the best professors that I have had at OU so far. He takes his job seriously. He teaches very well. He is also fair. His exams and homework are sometimes challenging. But gives so many chances. At the end a large number of students passed with A or B. I seriously recommend him.
this guy is legit. i was thinking that i will fail statistics. i didnt like it at first. but now i finished with an A!!!!! take him if you can. hard work pays.....
Class is not hard if you put in the work. Tests are very similar to the files Saleh gives out, and if you go over those you should do well. Also the tests are curved by 10 points so that helps. There are participation questions he will give during lectures, and those add up. His lectures are boring, and did not learn much in the class tbh.
Saleh was a better teacher than credited. Flexible if you were gone for good reasons. When I started asking him questions one on one he was very nice. He always made a point to explain the concepts well and show examples. Do the homework and in-class quizzes! Be sure to do most of the practice tests. Optional makeup exam in the end that saved my A.
The worst professor I have ever had. This man talks in such an over complicated way that you cannot pull substance from what he says. Lectures leave you more confused than before class, he teaches almost everything on excel but all of the tests are on paper. Extremely rude. I have watched him snap at his GAs and insult students many times.
Saleh is very nice. he is friendly too. statistics was hard for me. i'm not a math person. but i actually learned a lot. review the old exams. he always says that he puts few questions like 2 or 3 from his old exams. and he really does it. overall he's honest and caring.
First off his lectures are AWFUL. He doesn't teach much at all and then expects you to know everything. you have quizzes every class.
I actually really enjoyed Saleh's class. He is very nice and accessible. There are in-class quizzes every day so you can't skip, but he usually gives you the answers. The tests always have a curve and there's a make-up exam. The only homework is online about once a month. Just put in effort and you'll be fine! He wants everyone to succeed.
The only thing I have for this professor is that he is the greatest professor that OU has to offer.
This is a really hard class and I had to take it three times before I passed, but Saleh does his best to make it easy to understand. He gives really good lectures and always gives numeric examples on every topic. There are in-class quizzes every day for attendance. We took 50 quizzes this semester, but he almost always works through the answers.
He is a great professor! I loved all of his lectures. Even though lectures are not mandatory, there are quizzes taken every class, so you should attend class. The first test is pretty easy, but it gets harder as you go just to let you know. I highly recommend him as a professor because he is honestly great!
We ended up going online after spring break because of pandemic. Saleh offered the best online experience, it was as good as his lectures. I also loved his online exams.
he's one of the best professors at OU.. take him if you need to take statistics
One of the best professors Ive had at OU. His lectures are phenomenal. 1-3 short quizzes every lecture, but you can work with your classmates and he works them out afterwards. Homework is online and is due within 1-2 weeks of being assigned. There are 22 questions on the exams and practice exams are helpful. There is also an optional make-up exam.
One of my best econ profs. he's exams are not easy, but there are extra credit questions. go to class and review his old exams. you'll be ok.
Saleh is so nice and respectful to each and every student! There are a lot of quizzes (at least 1 every class period), so that can be a bit nerve wracking, but he works through them with you so 100% is almost guaranteed. I'm taking an online section this semester and the tests are a bit difficult, but overall a good class.
He's sassy for sure. If you ask a question in his online class he will say your name before he answers it. There is such a thing as a dumb question. This class is easy though- mostly putting numbers in Excel. He gives EC on tests and easy in-class quizzes. If you have to take stats take Saleh.
He's a great professor and is dedicated to helping his students learn. There's extra credit on each exam (up to 10 points) and past exams to use to study. You have to show up to class because there's in-class quizzes, but he goes over most quizzes in class before you submit. I don't know why people say he's mean. Easy A! and fun!!
There was an average of 1 quiz per class that ranged anywhere from 2-5 pts. He would give the student a couple of minutes to take quiz. Then he would take question from students about the quiz and help students work through it so that they could get the correct answer before submitting quiz. Great professor, does a great job teaching the material.
Salah gives lots of in class quizzes, but he helps you answer them. There is also lots of extra credit opportunities.
In class quizzes every class for attendance and are graded on accuracy not completion. The homework helps prepare you for the tests. I didnt ever pay attention but just studied before each test and received an A. If you ask a question in class hell probably roast you.
This is my second time having Professor Tabrizy and I love him as an instructor. His class is graded on very few assignments and tests but if you show up for class, you'll know the answers. Almost everyday there is small quizzes (2-4 questions) that can really boost your grade so always try to attend. There is also some extra credit opportunities!
Professor Saleh had a great understanding of statistics & the class wasn't super difficult. There are quizzes, sometimes more than 1, every class even if it is on Zoom. The homework sometimes takes a while, but you can redo them if you don't receive the full credit. Also, after the final exam, you get the choice to take an optional make-up exam.
His class is hard, but he gives a lot of opportunities to improve your grade. He gives answers to all quizzes and allows to take a comprehensive make-up in the end of the semester.
Professor Tabrizy is an great teacher who cares a lot for his students; he will make sure everyone understands the concepts, even if it takes him awhile. Homework wasn't a bother, and the Exam average was an 85%. He will provide multiple opportunities for extra credit, and is clear about how everything is graded. 10/10 would take again.
I loved Saleh. He may seem boring at first but he's actually a good guy. Lectures are dull and you have quizzes every class but he is always willing to help walk you through and he always gives answers. Quizzes and homework aren't hard if you know how to use Excel. He will teach you how to use Excel; use it to your advantage to make class easy.
I am currently taking him for my Master's. One of the best professors I have ever had. Straight to the point and he can actually teach. Everything he teaches will be on the test. You won't expect new information. I wish every teacher was like him.
He is the best ever pleases take him if you get the opportunity. He is one of the fairest professors I have ever had.
Great guy and teacher. Goes at a good pace and explains everything in detail. Wants student to succeed. Tests can be hard for some but if you study you should be able to make an A in the course. Offers opportunities for extra credit and you'll get a 100 on every quiz if you show up to class. Good and easy teacher if you show up and pay attention.
Professor Tabrizy is an amazing teacher and gives really great lectures that are easily understandable if you pay attention. The class quizzes are worth 15% of your grade, so it's really important to attend class. Overall great teacher and would highly recommend.
Saleh is the best professor at OU. With his enthusiastic demeanor and his warm welcomes he is all around a great professor. Saleh would answer any and all questions during his lecture and even took the daily quiz that happens each class period with the students. If you do not understand the topic ask and he will help you out. Saleh is the best
Great Professor! He explains things very well and truly helps you learn the material! He provides you with all the necessary tools to succeed in his class all you need to do is use them.
Prof. Saleh is one of the best professors I've ever had at OU. If you go to lecture, take good notes, and study the past exams, there is no reason you should make anything less than an A. He puts it all out there for you to succeed. First exam I got an 80 (my own fault). I got my stuff together and ended the semester with a 102. Great class & prof.
Saleh is one of the best professors at OU. his class has too many quizzes. some are hard to solve but you work in groups. so it's not that bad. he told us that he'll move to Price soon, so take his classes there. he's the best... trust me
Saleh is by far one of my favorite professors! His lectures were terrific, and his explanations were great. In-class quizzes were easy to complete if you paid attention to his lecture. Exams were very well-organized, and you got 3 attempts to attain the desired grade. I dropped the ball on the final (I have only myself to blame as I did not study).
Great Professor, he gives detailed examples and then gives similar questions to the examples on each exam. I really enjoyed this course and learned a lot. Also a super nice guy that assisted in all the concepts that were not easy to grasp. With that being said, if you are not familiar with basic stats and R coding, this course can be difficult.
Probably the best lecturer I have had in 7 years.
The material itself was tough, but Professor Saleh is incredibly helpful and responds quickly. He wants you to learn and is fair.
Before starting my program, I was nervous about taking Quantitative Analysis. However, his lectures were so useful and well-explained that I didn't need any sources except for my notes to learn this topic. Eventually, I was able to get an A.
